Bluetooth is a nightmare

Using N8
Everytime I wish to transfer files via Bluetooth, I waste my time. After pairing , accepting codes, installing updates, restarting both devices repeating this a few times , Bluetooth works. Then , next time I have to redo all this **bleep** again.
Sync using nokia suite tells me I need to check for updates, which there are none, because I did that the last time.
I have given up on the Bluetooth option, its a joke. Using my wife's Galaxy I simple turn on Bluetooth and send, no hassles, zip, nothing.
I have search for answers and tried everybody's suggestions, it simple should not be this hard.
Nokia you disappoint me, I was fan for so long, I see why you are losing the market share.
Rant over.

Take device to nokia care point so. Try not to rant when your there.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Bluetooth Mouse... buttons become unresponsive

    Okay, when I got my Mac Pro a month or so ago I experienced the same issue that everyone else did with their bluetooth mighty mouse. But great news!.. Apple fixed it with an update not long ago!
    But, I barely had time to be excited about having a bluetooth mighty mouse that worked as it should when Apple releases yet another bluetooth update in the last couple days that breaks it again! Arrrrgh! Now, every so often the buttons become unresponsive and I have to shut it off and back on again to get it to work. Apple... please don't tease us like this and re-fix what you had currently done right.
    BTW, anyone else having this problem?

    Hasn't done it even once ever since then. My Mac updated... restarted... bluetooth mighty mouse nightmare... and apparently 2nd shutdown and startup was the charm! I physically shut down my Mac so little and that's why it persisted I guess. Next time I have an issue I know to try that before I yell "fire" on the boards.

  • Storm 2 9550 with BMW - Bluetooth stays active all the time

    I changed my phone recently and bought a Storm 2 9550. My old Verizon phone (Motorola Z60) used to work with my car without any problems.
    At first, I didn't have any problems with the new phone while on my car's Bluetooth. However, after activating my phone with the company e-mail functions, the Bluetooth is a nightmare. As soon as it is activated, it stays activated even thought am not talking to anyone and turn the car radio off. I can't change channels on the radio, because the Bluetooth is always active.
    It can't be a problem with the car as it used to work with my other phone. Something happened when I start to get my company e-mails on the phone.
    As soon as I am done with my phone call, I have to disable the Bluetooth otherwise it drains the battery as it stays connected.
    I did unpair and re-pair stuff... Is there a solution to this?

    Delete CleanMyMac2.  You do not need it and may be a contributing reason for your problem.
    Check Activity Monitor for applications that may be using a lot of CPU resources:
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203184
    Run an Apple Hardware Test:
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257
    Note that an error free AHT is not definitive.
    You also might test the MBP with the original RAM module in place of the 8GB module you installed.  There may be compatibility issues.
    Ciao.

  • TCP/IP bluetooth nightmare!!

    Hello all,
    I seem to be having a bit of nightmare of a time figuring out how to do the following in bluetooth:
    Scan for bluetooth devices - This i can do.
    Connected to a bluetooth device - This i can do.
    Send TCP packets over the internet via the bluetooth device - Nightmare!
    Receive TCP packets from the internet via the bluetooth device - Nightmare!
    I can only find some sketchy info and no code examples for this. Please help!
    How do i do this?

    Here's one suggestion:
    1. Create a Client class.
    2. Create a Server class.
    3. Create a SpawnedServer class.
    4. Create an Application or whatever that uses the Client class.
    1. The Client class has as a data member a Socket that connects to the server and gets the info.
    2. The Server class has a ServerSocket and also has a while true loop that does the following:
    Socket sock = servSock.accept()
    new SpawnedServer(sock).start()
    3. The SpawnedServer class has a Socket data member that gets initialized in its constructor that is
    called when it is created above. The SpawnedServer class extends Thread and does most of its work
    in the run method.
    4. Start the server.
    5. Run application programs as desired.
    Think of all of the things that you would want a Client to do:
    For example, open a connection, receive a message, close a connection, output the reply...
    Think of all of the things that you would want a SpawnedServer to do:
    receive a message, process a message, respond to a message...
    Implement a small portion. Test it. When it works, implement another and test it. Do this until completed.
    I hope this advice helps some. I am relatively new to the programming game, but have found that it is very helpful
    to implement piece by piece when a program is somewhat complex.
    Good luck.

  • 6300 Bluetooth Vista Nightmares!

    I downloaded the latest version of PC Suite and was unable to connect my old 6230 to my Vaio VGN-FE41S running Vista HP x32 using Bluetooth. The only way to get my contacts transferred to PC Suite (and thence across to my new 6300) was to buy a cable, which fortunately worked.
    I then try to connect the new 6300 to PC Suite but get the response 'Cannot use the Connection Type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available.' There appears to be no way round this, even when Bluetooth is selected on the phone and the Bluetooth light is shining bright on the computer. I've tried Sitecom USB and Motorola Bluetooth USB devices, all without success.
    The costs are mounting and now it looks as if I'll have to buy yet another cable for the new phone.
    What a complete nightmare, enough to prevent anyone from wanting to buy a Nokia - or a Sony for that matter - ever again!
    Has anyone had similar problems and can they recommend a way round it?
    Cheers

    Hi rodosto,
    If you have Toshiba BT stack, see this:
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=connectivity&message.id=8143&view=by_date_ascending&page=2
    (so update your PC Suite to version 6.84 and Toshiba BT stack to version 5.10)

  • «A Nightmare called 6210 Navigator» - Part II / Ex...

    In the post - «A Nightmare called Nokia 6210 Navigator» - I explained my disappointment with this new navigator model, specially for people, like me, who own and intensively used the «6110» before.
    In all fairness to all of you - Nokia included - I found I should explain myself better.
    I have both 'Navigator Phones' - 6110 (with firmware 6.01) & 6210 (with Firmware 3.08, updated first to 3.25 and now to 4.13, if I remember correctly) - have returned the first 6210 and will return again this second unit, mainly because of its lousy sound and 'bluetooth' crackles every time I got Map/Road directions... From which you hear the last words - only - most of the time and what makes this phone useless as a ('voiced') navigation tool.
    Maybe the navigation function/program is not supposed to be the main phone feature any more, because Nokia is also using one bad/cheap loudspeaker in the 6210, while the 6110 had two good ones that worked fine against the engine/road/car noise...
    My second 6210 surely confirms this is the case, as by now I know that my first (6210) returned unit was clearly not a defective one in terms of 'sound/bluetooth' capabilities - I returned it to the shop during my legal 30 day return period - because for what sound is concerned, this second unit confirms it: The phone is just like that - scrappy!
    There are, however, other major problems to be concerned about...
    The 'voice command dedicated button' was also removed - this function is now available through the upper right button - making it impossible to use (activating 'bluetooth', for instance) if you are inside any phone application (Maps 2.0, included)!
    Has anybody tried a prototype before the phone release? Has anybody used a 6110 Navigator before? I guess not!
    This is even more stupid/cumbersome, as for instance, the lower left button is free for this action (keep it pushed for more than 1 second) and would be a much more clever (and logical) solution...
    It seems developers either don't waist much time balancing their solutions or haven't thought about it at all! (At least, this can be fixed by remapping the button in a further firmware update, although I doubt they care - or will, eventually, do it...)
    IMO, the above described hardware shortcomings, alone, are enough to rule out this phone as a (Car/Driving) navigator unit, and no software or firmware update/release is going to (or can) alter this fact.
    If you need to stay with Nokia, the (two years) 'old' «6110 Navigator», is undoubtedly a much better and user friendly 'Phone Navigation' unit - with or without Nokia's Maps application!
    If you want to know a little more about other 6210's "Shortcomings & Problems', please do read further...
    Maybe releasing a new model every year doesn't give them much time to think... Nevertheless it's there option and frankly it's not an excuse, at least, as far as I'm concerned!
    Ergonomically there are other basic errors:
    1. The phone front 'fascia' doesn't open/slide enough for you to have space to effectively use the upper keyboard row/buttons.
    2. The lower keyboard row is placed to close to the unit's end, making it quite difficult to dial with your thumb while holding the phone in the palm of your hand.
    ...Sorry to say, but it's a bad/defective layout design! Again, I doubt a prototype was tested by human hands!
    ...And now - as it seems to be usual with the last Nokia products - The Bugs:
    (Please feel free to add the ones you've found - It came a time I gave up using the phone any more!)
    1. I couldn't connect the phone by 'bluetooth' with Nokia's own/dedicated «Pc Suite v.7.1.18.0»! (I'm using Win XP Prof SP3)
    A bug, the lousy 'bluetooth' sound/connection, or a defective unit?
    I discovered that it only happened with my first unit, which I now conclude - was defective. (I had given up after several hours lost trying to figure out what was wrong and discovering that the 'old' 6110 still worked perfectly, even with the new/last «Pc Suite» versions and settings!)
    The second phone works now flawlessly with the «Pc Suite» program, I have to say!
    2. Setting an alarm to a different day rather than the actual one, switches the alarm back to the actual day, as soon as you save it!
    Another bug that 'Beta Users' seem to have forgotten. It's unbelievable how basic things like this can happen... Well, maybe they never used the alarm (or the phone), after all?
    Corrected in firmware 4.13; so it seems... (However it took two firmware releases to correct it! Inexcusable, from my point of view!)
    3. When navigating, if you receive or make a phone call the 'Navigation Screen' doesn't show back again after ending the call, although you continue receiving 'road voice indications'; to have your 'Map Display/Visual Road Indications' once again you need to 'hit' the 'Start
    Application Button' once again - Delirious!!!
    4. With 'bluetooth' on, if you give a 'Contacts Voice Command' you don't have sound/voice 'feed back / confirmation' for the 'dialled contact' (as you had in the 6110) - you have to look at the screen to aknowledge it - Quite unsafe if you're driving...
    Last... And as usual... Some 'phone freezing', so we can rehearse (and improve) our 'Remove Battery' exercise...
    Welcome to the club, thank you very much, I hope you enjoy!
    There are several other 'malfunction' that I will not go into depth, as they are user/personal related, and quite frankly I'm so tired of this phone, that I don't feel like going on, and on, pointing out all those shortcomings - after all this should be Nokia's Team own home work!
    The ones I pointed out are enough, at least for me, to say - bye, bye, «Nokia 6210 Navigator».
    I may even continue to use my old '6110' - Why not? Not perfect, but a much better (navigator) phone - But I'm surely will looking quite closely into another brand for my next (navigator) phone!
    Best wishes to all of you (Nokia, included),
    telele
    P.S. - As usual, you are entitled to contradict my findings... Update the bugs list... Or even praise the «6210 Navigator» phone.
    All your comments are surely welcome!
    I, on the other hand, will be returning this second unit.
    Sorry, but I had enough - Period.

    I have also 'upgraded' from a 6110 Navigator to a 6210 Navigator and found the newer model to be considerably harder to use.
    In particular, your point #4 about not having a warning beep when issuing a voice command while in bluetooth/car mode is my number 1 gripe as it makes my cars bluetooth and phones voice dialling completely useless.
    If you have found a solution to that particular issue please let me know.

  • My Bluetooth will not function after update to iOS 7.0.4

    Hi, last night I updated the last update 7.0.4. I have done all the updates before so I know how it should go. Anyway I got a message showing my to plug it into iTunes which I did. iTunes then told me I had to do a system restore (nightmare). Anyway, I did that and uploaded all my apps again.
    Now the problem is that my Bluetooth is now an issue. I slide the control panel up from the bottom and can appear to switch it on (the icon turns highlighted). At this point I can even see it is turned on in the settings menu. However no icon appears next to the battery indicator and if I try to search for it using another device it is not there. It seems that the phone thinks it is switched on when it actually isn't. I tried doing a soft reset and turned the Bluetooth on and hey presto the icon appeared! So I thought I had fixed it. But no, if I then turn the Bluetooth off it won't turn on again and the problem returns. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't keep resetting my phone every time I want to turn on my Bluetooth!
    Thanks for any advice.
    Dave

    Try a FULL reset. Fingers crossed, if that fails -> a Factory Settings & Updates as required,
    then get your info from Your Back Up..
    if that fails call Apple Corporate Customer Care.(whether Under or Out of Warranty)

  • Google Voice Won't Work With Bluetooth Headset After Jelly Bean

    I am SO frustrated. I had no idea I was installing the Jelly Bean update when I updated the software on my phone. Note to Verizon Communications team: PLEASE do a better job of communicating significant software updates. I would not have installed Jelly Bean. I learned long ago to stick with factory OS on my phones.
    Since the update, I noticed that I could no longer dictate texts and emails. Also, my call recording app no longer worked. I switched to Swype and it would work for a few minutes and then stop.  I could still use my bluetooth headset to make calls and S voice worked (although, like others here, I noticed that it's now worse--it doesn't recognize any contact names I request anymore). After trolling Android forums I found that the problem is with the bluetooth headset. You can still dictate when the phone's bluetooth is on, but when a device is connected, all bets are off.
    I almost did a factory reset, but then I read that a hard reset will not restore ICS, nor did it resolve this bluetooth Google Voice issue for the few people who tried it already. In fact, resetting caused more problems (eg., more battery drain and removal of Adobe Flash, etc.).
    Does anyone know how I can go back to ICS? Bluetooth and Google Voice are the two features I value most in my phones. This is a NIGHTMARE.

    rcschnoor -
    The Bluetooth/Voice Search/Dictation issue is a valid issue for the OP, a valid issue for me and oh yeah, the hundreds of other people affected by the, "Google Voice Search stuck on "Initializing" bug filed here on the Google Android Project page.  Here is yet another reference to the same issue from Android Central.
    The "Google Music freezing after Jelly Bean Update on Galaxy S3" is also a valid and documented bug located here also on the Google Android Project page.
    So I ask, how does sharing with these people that do have these issues, and are affected by them, that you are not experiencing these issues help in any way?  Isn't that the whole purpose of a community forum to help others?

  • How do I change the name of my bluetooth keyboard on my iPad?

    I recently was awarded a grant to buy a class set of wireless bluetooth keyboards for my classroom (26). Since I teach at a middle school, the idea of all my students pairing at the same time gives me nightmares. I took the set home and attempted various techniques I've come across to change the name of the bluetooth keyboards (preferences/bluetooth/gear icon/change name) and it seems to work, but whenever I pair it with an iphone or ipad it still just comes up as "Bluetooth Keyboard." Naming these would really help. Thanks!

    Hello:
    I looked as well, but cannot find a way to change the name (except on a Mac).  Apparently, Apple uss the generic name on devices that are really personal ones.

  • Labview AHRS Community Document Nightmare

    This post is in reference to this document:  https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-18964#/?page=4
    I have two of the Razor boards from SparkFun and they have been killing me.  (I bought a second just to make sure the board wasn't bad)  I can't get either of them to calibrate correctly.  I have tried the AHRS9DOF firmware and multiple calibration methods.  I consider myself to be a smart person so I must be doing something horribly wrong.  My best results so far have actually come from example magnetometer calibrations rather than my own measurenents!
    I am developing a system for my father with ALS (he can only move his head and fingers a small amount).  A head mounted IMU will take measurenets of his head position and generate very large movements of a Nintendo Wii remote control.  This way he will be able to play video games with the family.  I've already built and tested the robot Wii remote manipulator, the bluetooth device that pushes buttons on the robot held remote, an interface box that debounces large 3" diameter buttons, a large joystick, and a +/- 0.3psi pressure transducer for sip and puff control  This is the LAST step!  I thought I had it figured out, but after accomplishing all of the above I noticed the problems.
    After a day of head banging, I don't have success but I do have a lot to report.
    This video here shows a modified version of the program to include:
    -average of raw sensor values (used for gyro offset creation)
    -min/max values from a resettable buffer (accelerometer and magnetometer)
    -last acquired sample of raw sensor values
    -last acquired sample corrected sensor values
    Current problems:
    -Yaw seems to move 180 degrees for a 90 degree sensor movement, possibly 1 degree of drift every 5-7 seconds...but all gyros are 0.
    -Pitch and roll seem to have the same problem, but they drift even more
    Here is a youtube video showing the problem.  It should be ready in 25 minutes after posting this message.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKGOEbDdkRU
    How I calibrated:
    I calibrated my gyros by sitting the PCB down, not disturbing it, and averaging 500 values.  Here are my gyro offsets:
        sen_offset.gyro_offset[0]      = (float)-2;
        sen_offset.gyro_offset[1]      = (float)0;
        sen_offset.gyro_offset[2]      = (float)0;
    I calibrated my accelerometers by holding the PCB to get the highest max and the lowest min readings.  I would hold they sensor close to vertical and then very slowly move it around to find the highest gravity reading.  I would reset the average array frequently to make sure I had a good number and not one with acceleration mixed in with gravity.  Here are my accelerometer calibrations.  I stole the formulas from the Razor ahrs package.  I put in comments behind the sen_offset variables what they are being set to at runtime.
    #define ACCEL_X_MIN ((float) -258)
    #define ACCEL_X_MAX ((float) 262)
    #define ACCEL_Y_MIN ((float) -257)
    #define ACCEL_Y_MAX ((float) 274)
    #define ACCEL_Z_MIN ((float) -262)
    #define ACCEL_Z_MAX ((float) 252)
    #define ACCEL_X_OFFSET ((ACCEL_X_MIN + ACCEL_X_MAX) / 2.0f)
    #define ACCEL_Y_OFFSET ((ACCEL_Y_MIN + ACCEL_Y_MAX) / 2.0f)
    #define ACCEL_Z_OFFSET ((ACCEL_Z_MIN + ACCEL_Z_MAX) / 2.0f)
    #define ACCEL_X_SCALE (GRAVITY / (ACCEL_X_MAX - ACCEL_X_OFFSET))
    #define ACCEL_Y_SCALE (GRAVITY / (ACCEL_Y_MAX - ACCEL_Y_OFFSET))
    #define ACCEL_Z_SCALE (GRAVITY / (ACCEL_Z_MAX - ACCEL_Z_OFFSET))
        sen_offset.accel_offset[0]     = (float)ACCEL_X_OFFSET; //2
        sen_offset.accel_offset[1]     = (float)ACCEL_Y_OFFSET; //8.5
        sen_offset.accel_offset[2]     = (float)ACCEL_Z_OFFSET; //-5
        sen_offset.accel_scale[0]     = (float)ACCEL_X_SCALE; //.98
        sen_offset.accel_scale[1]     = (float)ACCEL_Y_SCALE; //.96
        sen_offset.accel_scale[2]     = (float)ACCEL_Z_SCALE;  //1
    Finally, I calibrated the magnetometer by aligning the sensor with magentic north and rotating each axis to find the min and max readings.
    #define MAGN_X_MIN ((float) -871)
    #define MAGN_X_MAX ((float) 887)
    #define MAGN_Y_MIN ((float) -1054)
    #define MAGN_Y_MAX ((float) 674)
    #define MAGN_Z_MIN ((float) -783)
    #define MAGN_Z_MAX ((float) 874)
    #define MAGN_X_OFFSET ((MAGN_X_MIN + MAGN_X_MAX) / 2.0f)
    #define MAGN_Y_OFFSET ((MAGN_Y_MIN + MAGN_Y_MAX) / 2.0f)
    #define MAGN_Z_OFFSET ((MAGN_Z_MIN + MAGN_Z_MAX) / 2.0f)
        sen_offset.magnetom_offset[0]  = MAGN_X_OFFSET;  //8
        sen_offset.magnetom_offset[1]  = MAGN_Y_OFFSET;  //-190
        sen_offset.magnetom_offset[2]  = MAGN_Z_OFFSET;  //45.5

    Just something to fill in the blanks...
    Here is a proof of concept manipulator holding the wii remote:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13cWH2Z91aA
    There is no scaling or gain applied to the IMU driving the robot.  The idea is that a small head movement can create a big manipulator movement.  My dad won't be able to play this game in 6-8 months.  He is going down hill fast.  : (
    The current manipulator has two yaw, two roll, and one theta motor.  No more tape.  : )  The remote is now disassembled and surrounded by heat shrink tubing, an ardunio, a bluetooth adapter, and lithium battery.
    Don't even try to search google for "Wii remote robot", if you're looking for robots holding a wii remote.  : )

  • Why can't apple let us sync two computers over bluetooth?

    I am extremely annoyed that mac won't let you sync two computers via bluetooth, when you can easily do it with phones and pdas. It seems to me that it takes the exact same technology to do so, and the only reason mac does not let you sync two computers is that they want to force you to pay $100 for a .mac account. Very Microsoft-like of them. Apple advertises that you can do this function as part of the OSX, but fails to mention it requires additional cost. I hope they provide this in the future.
    I've heard a new program, spanning sync, may work, but that is just for your calendar.

    1) Apple always advertised its computer to computer sync'ing as ".Mac sync" (http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/dotmacsync/) so I don't see where they "fail to mention it requires .mac" or put that "in the small print no one reads"
    2) Peer-to-peer sync'ing leverages many conceptual problems that sync'ing with a central server does not have. It takes a lot of effort to have proper, reliable, secure, yet simple-to-use peer-to-peer sync'ing. It becomes even worse when more than 2 peers are involved, and becomes a total nightmare when there can be cycles in the sync'ing swarm. Apple took the simpler, reliable approach. Of course, Apple can put money to provide some peer-to-peer solution but it's likely not worth the money yet for Apple.
    3) Third parties can provide peer-to-peer sync'ing in no time (if it were that simple) since Tiger, thanks to Sync Services... yet there isn't many solutions out-there... however, maybe you should take a look on VersionTracker. You might find what you want:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/index.shtml
    Remember... sync'ing is never that simple.

  • Droid Razr M update is a nightmare - any helpful hints out there?

    The latest update for my Droid has been nothing but a nightmare! I couldn't even use the phone after the update was forced on me. Many hours and several tech calls later to Verizon and Motorola and I can at least use the phone after having to do a factory reset but I am NOT happy at all! Hoping someone else has worked through these problems already and can help me out.
    Bluetooth - had to reconnect to my car obviously and now I am not longer notified on messages when I am in the car?
    Battery life - where did it go? Where does it go? All I know is it goes - FAST! Way faster than before the upgrade.
    Random messages saying Amazon Kindle or Appstore or NFL Mobile has crashed. I never installed or use them so why does this keep happening? Can they be disabled without causing even more issues?
    Text messages - used to be able to delete several at once now it is one at a time. Completely unacceptable! I can get a hundred or more messages a day from work and I have to delete them all one at a time? I have to save some if I need to reference it later so I can't just throw all of them in the trash.
    I have been ready to pitch the phone since this "improvement" was done. I could go back to my old flip phone - didn't have all the features but I never had any problems with it...
    Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. I appreciate it!

        HitCast,
    I'm sorry you are having trouble installing the update. I'm surprised that with the steps you have taken, you are still unable to install it. Are you using WiFi? When going to Settings>About Phone>System Updates what displays? If you are in Settings>About Phone, what information displays under Android Version and System version? Generally, if the software is not installing through this path, a master reset would need to be done to help push the update.

  • PC Suite & Nokia Ovi Suite via Bluetooth on Nokia ...

    I had a tough time in getting the Nokia N8 in sync with the latest Nokia PC Suite which will recognise the N8 (version 7.1.40.9) together with the Nokia Ovi Suite through bluetooth. It was a nightmare! I don't use to have any troubles in connecting any Nokia phones via bluetooth but I do have a problem with the N8.
    After searching through various forums and blogs, I have come to a conclusion. There is a workaround the problem when it pertains to the Nokia PC Suite. I rarely use the Nokia Ovi Suite because the Ovi Suite would not allow me to sync calender items for more than 6 weeks. With the Nokia PC Suite, it will allow a user to sync any items for 99 years! Can you believe it? However, not all are lost. The Ovi Suite is better in terms of installing updated maps on the N8 though. You would not be able to do so on the Nokia PC Suite.
    When it comes to synchronising your N8 with your PC Suite/ Ovi Suite via bluetooth, you need to take care. The steps will be as follows:
    (1) Install the latest Nokia Ovi Suite and or PC Suite Suite version 7.1.40.9.
    (2) Don't run Ovi/Nokia PC Suite. If they are running on the taskbar, right click to exit all of them.
    (3) Enable bluetooth on your N8 and then right click on the bluetooth devices icon at the bottom right of your laptop.
    (4) Once you have right clicked on the bluetooth devices icon, select 'add devices'.
    (5) Follow the prompts on your N8 and also on your laptop/pc.
    (6) Please make sure that your N8's bluetooth is on 'discoverable'. Otherwise your laptop/pc will not be able to pick up the signal.
    (7) Follow the instructions given and then reboot your laptop/pc.
    After that, you would need to fire up your PC Suite or Ovi Suite but not both at the same time. Use PC Suite to sync your contacts/messages/calenders while use the Ovi Suite to install and update your map on your Nokia devices.
    Good luck!

    Pls help. I'm able to connect my N8 to my laptop's win7 home premium but not to OVI suite or PC Suite.
    They get connected with N8 over cable but not over bluetooth. PC Suite says "Can not authenticate the phone" and ovi suite keeps checking the "Phone's bluetooth capabilities".
    Kindly help.

  • Bluetooth does not connect

    My iphone5 bluetooth does not pair with either of two devices after my phone was exchanged. Is there something I'm missing, or something I can do? Do I need to go back to the Apple Store?

    Resetting PRAM did not change anything. Resetting SMC was the solution (and a very simple - just pull the plug and have a beer). Thanks for helping to get rid of the nightmare.
    The question, however, is why does this happen so oftenly? It took me about 6 hours to check all potential culprits. The incidence that caused the problem was a simple breakdown of an application that has nothing to do with bluetooth. After that, my system has generated hundreds of false messages and indications that everything would function perfectly. My keyboard was accepted, some other devices, too. But I have not been able to change anything without attaching non-bluetooth devices. Before that I needed to use another computer to learn about it. Who, in **** owns, a battery of input devices and additional computers to hunt for the culprit?

  • WINDOWS 8.1 BLUETOOTH NOT WORKING AFTER UPDATE ON ACER V3-571......Solved!!!!!!

    Hello everyone, if anyone has had the horrible task of trying to get his or her bluetooth working after upgrading to windows 8.1, then look no further.  It took me hours and hours of faffing and fist raging, but in the end, there can be only one.  Anyway...Here is your solution.....Ps! I already upgraded to Windows 10, but went back to 8.1 as it trashed my PC and cost me 3.5 half days of painstaking re-install to get my laptop to work again. (WINDOWS 10...DONT BOTHER IN MY OPINION) I have :  ACER V3-571 64 BIT WIN 8.1  AGAIN. . IF YOU UPGRADE THIS LAPTOP TO WINDOWS 10...YOUR DOLBY V4 WILL STOP WORKING...was the start of a new nightmare for me.  MICROSOFT UPGRADE YOUR ACER WITH THEIR OWN DRIVERS WHEN YOU UPGRADE TO A NEW OPERATING SYSTEM, OFTEN THIS LEADS TO STUPID FIDDLY THINGS LIKE APPS AND APPLICATIONS NO LONGER WORKING.... SO here we go!!! SOLUTION TO BLUETOOTH NOT WORKING V3-571 ACER WIN 8.1 64-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------1) Switch off your bluetooth    .........search top right screen > Settings > Bluetooth > Toggle off!2) Right Click your windows logo on the left hand side of your screen > device manager > Bluetooth >Uninstall totally the bluetooth driver and or delete.3) Exit device manager.4) www.google. > find acer drivers > acer website.  On website to find drivers, use auto detect serial number > go to your downloads folder >open downloaded auto detector > copy serial number> back to asking box for your serial number >right click > Paste serial number.5)Select operating system from drop down menu (typically windows 8.1)6Drivers > Select Bluetooth Qualcom Atheros Driver 647) Go to downloads on your pc8) Right click the downloaded bluethooth qualcom atheros zip folder >  > extract here9) Go into unzipped bluetooth folder > Double Click the installer Icon > Run installer10) Restart PC11) Boom!!!  Happy Days.....Nightmare over.  YOUR BLUETOOTH WILL NOW CRUISE  Hope this will help other people, I had a nightmare for a good few hours trying to get my bluetooth to work again after upgrading to Win 8.1 FROM Win 8.

    I am not bothering with windows 10 my friend, it is too much of an newbe baby at the moment and there are just too many bug fixes need doing in my opinion.  I did manage to get my dolby home theatre to work again in windows 10, but it was an awful dulled down version with only half the features of the original that came with the version that was on my pc. My plan is to stick to windows 8.1 until it's death.  When they withdrawl all the security patches for windows 8.1 and it becomes obsolete, then I will be forced to trash my pc again and go to windows 10, was not much fun mind spending 3.5 days putting everything back to its former state.   Hope they do make windows 10 more stable and fix a lot of the bugs.  I tried opening videos and pictures in windows 10.... result = missing element errors.... and  error, error,  error,,,  So I think I will wait until 28 July 16 to when the last day of my free upgrade and reservation to windows 10 becomes mandatory.  (This is I day before my year to upgrade expires). Thanks for your post.  Will
