  • Apple Bluetooth keyboard broken (with technical sollution)

    Hello,
I've got a bluetooth apple keyboard (the Dutch alu small version).
Using rechargeable batteries I sometimes have to replace them.
When I do replace the batt. the keyboard won't work, no green led comes up.
also tried the caps-lock to check, but this also won't light-up.
So, Thinking it was the batteries, tried some new ones, and they work.
At this time I thought also the problems would be the batteries, but it wasn't.
I've change the batteries a few times this year, and sometimes the keyboard worked, and sometime it didn't. Until a few days after warranty (23-dec-08) it stopt working.
I've tried changing batteries over and over again.
I've checked the voltage of the batteries, and they where fine.
A store told me, no warranty, buy a new one.
So first I wan't to know what the problem is, so I disassembled the keyboard and made a few pictures so you would also know how to.
The problem is: The power of the batteries never reaches the circuit-board.
I can disassemble a few things, but I can't get out the main-problem part.
I think it's the springy thing in the batterie compartment, which does not give through the + voltage, the - was okay (checked with resistanse measuring).
I've read a few problems with this keyboard..... What should I do next?
    The keyboard costed 80,- Euro's...
I would like to change it for an usb version as I don't trust the bluetooth's anymore because of this (I found) mechanical error in design.

An update about the broken keyboard.
I called the Dutch Aple store helpdesk phone number. The person was very friendly, asked me about some products that I owned and tried to solve it via the normal procedures and asked for an exeption.
But like normal procedures: The keyboard was 15 months young, so 3 month over warranty
They did not took the exeption for a keyboard of 80,- euros.
I told them I was happy with a cabled keyboard (half cheaper for apple, and because I don't trust the bluetooth inside wiring).
It would cost apple almost nothing for a wired keyboard.
In a few years I bought a mac-pro, and 2 macbooks, I thought they would help me out over a few euro's.
    Next step:
The friendly person tried to call Customer Relations Ireland, but they were close at the moment I'll have to call back tomorrow.
    Backup step:
Cut open the alu part which blocks my way of repairing the keyboard.
Will take some time, but the fix will cost a few drops of soldering stuff.
At least this approach boosts the trust in online shopping
via the apple store I must say. Now, let's hope they can help me out.

  • Bluetooth streaming broken in update 10.3.1.x

No more able to stream to bluetooth automotive device in latest 10.3.1.x
    Was working fine in 10.3.0.x
    Any clues ?

Blame Verizon, why they took so long. My BlackBerry Z10 is STL100-4 too, don't know why this Z10 is actually aimed for Verizon is sold in Indonesia. I updated my Z10 yesterday using Sachesi. Now my BlackBerry Z10 is running OS 10.3.2.858. Next time I plan go back to Android.

  • Bluetooth faxing broken in 10.4.8

I use my cellphone to fax things, via bluetooth. It's a great technology, which has been a lot of fun...but it has stopped working since upgrading to 10.4.8 on both my Powerbook G4 and my PowerMac G5.
The "classic" way to set this up:
    * System Prefs -> Print and Fax
    * Click "+" to add something; option-click "More printers..."
    * Choose "Advanced," then Device: "Bluetooth-Modem", and Printer Model: "Other"
    * Navigate to /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/PrintCore.f ramework/Resources/English.lproj/Fax.ppd
    * Click OK a bunch, and it works.
...but now, it only faxes part of a page, then quits, and says that the fax is "on hold" in the Bluetooth-Modem application.
My cellphone is a Motorola e815, though that shouldn't matter because the same phone worked in 10.4.7 just fine...
    Any help is most appreciated!
    Powerbook G4, PowerMac G5, a few beige G3's   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

To attempt to resolve this issue try the following suggestions...
    1. Open Disk Utility, located in the Applications->Utilities folder. Select your boot volume and click "Verify Disk".
    2. Using Disk Utility select your boot volume and click "Repair Permissions".
    3. Download and apply the Combo update. This version of the 10.4.8 update is much larger than the one the Software Update application offers because it will update any version of OS X 10.4.x. It refreshes ALL files that have changed since the original version of 10.4. A good percentage of people find that applying the Combo update resolves problems. Of course make sure you download the Intel version for your Mac Book.
The above suggestions are pretty much standard troubleshooting procedures. Hopefully one will do the trick. If not the next step is to start looking for preference files that may have been corrupted during the update.
If you are an experienced troubleshooter and have already tried these tips I apologize.

  • Bluetooth suddenly broken?

two days ago, my phone started doing this thing: when it automatically locked, it would stop connecting to my wireless and when I opened System Prefs, it wouldn't load and then System Prefs would crash. I was unable to turn the phone off (the lock button wouldn't work correctly) and only a hard restart would work. I restored factory settings via iTunes.
Now, my Mac Air won't connect via bluetooth. It connects for a second and then the error message appears "The Bluetooth network is unavilalbe. There was an error connecting to your device. Make sure the device is turned on and in range." When I try to connect to the Mac Air from the iPhone's bluetooth menu it says "Connection Unsuccessful. Make sure "MacBook Air" is tuned on and in range." (But the iPhone is right next to the computer and i JUST browsed the device.)
    HELP!
    1. Bluetooth is on on my iPhone and it says "now discoverable"
    2. The device has been located by my computer and is listed in the bluetooth tab.
    3. I have installed the latest Mac Air updates (which showed up yesterday)
Also, the iPhone is syncing very slowly. Its been off and on syncing for hours over the last two days and its still not complete (and its only syncing 40 G).
Any advice at all is appreciated!

A few questions before I give you some advice
What model of headset do you have? Where and when did you get it? How long have you owned it?
What happened to the ear hook exactly?
Regardless, I'd recommend you call us directly for advice, since the process can vary by country: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/corporate/common/contact/phonelist They should be able to point you in the right direction!

  • Bluetooth Module Broken?

just recently my logitech mouse has stopped working so i decided to save up and but a magic mouse. however before purchasing it i wanted to see if my mbp had bluetooth and was in working condition. however when ever i try to pair it up with any other bluetooth device i get a message saying "No Bluetooth Hardware Found" and when i go to About This Mac>More Info under Bluetooth it says No Information Found.
    What I've Tried
    - turning off the mbp on and off
    - removing the bottom cover and disconnected the battery
    - while on boot up press and hold the power button for a hard restart
Should i do a complete restore? as in restore using the given Mac OSX cds? i tried restoring with time machine but no luck there.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and resolved it. I need my mouse for school work and the multi touch pad gets annoying to use for countless hours. Is there anything i am missing or trouble shooting incorrectly? If so please feel free to give advice or insight on this problem.
But i know for sure i had bluetooth working before because i was able to sync my old blackberry before via bluetooth.
thanks in advance and appreciate it

I have an X61 working with Bluetooth here, but running Vista.
If XP behaves the same way, you won't see anything in Device Manager until you switch on the Bluetooth using Fn-F5.
You don't mention installing Microsoft Bluetooth Support for Windows XP, which you do need.
    I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

  • Bluetooth streaming broken by iOS4

My 3G still pairs just fine with my bluetooth car stereo (Pioneer FH-P8000B) for phone calls, but for some reason, music no longer streams reliably... Once it worked to un-pair and re-pair it, but it doesn't always... Any suggestions? Much appreciated.

There is no way you roll back to the previous level unless you jail-break.
Does you head unit have a 'Play' button that you would use to play media output from the iphone??
If you do, re-pair the phone and head unit and press play on the head unit.
This worked for my headphones. Strange thing is once I press play on the my headphones the it woke up the phone and restored full control back to the phone.

  • Bluetooth now broken

Hey guys, is your bluetooth not working anymore? Mine isn't anymore after the software update. Looks like Microsoft made a fix for the other bluetooth issues which I wasn't encountering. Now, I'm affected. LOL!

Most update issues can be resolved by hard resetting if you are willing to try it. You can backup data and setting to the cloud. Apps can be reinstalled with an app called Reinstaller

  • 1.2 Bluetooth Update Broken... no more Bluetooth!

I ran the 1.2 updater, not only does it fail to update, but it also nerfed my old firmware so now I have NO Bluetooth. Nothing under system preferences, and the icon on the menu bar says "Bluetooth: Not Available". Its like it never existed?!

I'm having the same issues as everyone else with this Bluetooth Firmware Update 1.2 ...
FWIW, after updating to 10.4.4 my System Profiler is listing:
    Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 1.7.0f18
    Hardware Settings:
    CostelloX:
    Address: 00-0d-93-08-a9-20
    Manufacturer: Cambridge Silicon Radio
    Firmware Version: 1.526 (1.526)
    Bluetooth Power: On
    Discoverable: Yes
    HCI Version: 1 ($1)
    HCI Revision: 526 ($20e)
    LMP Version: 1 ($1)
    LMP Subversion: 526 ($20e)
    Device Type (Major): Computer
    Device Type (Complete): Laptop Computer
Composite Class Of Device: 1057036 ($10210c)
    Device Class (Major): 1 ($1)
    Device Class (Minor): 3 ($3)
    Service Class: 129 ($81)
    Requires Authentication: No
So the software version number has gone up, and the firmware number is well above 1.2 ... Is this Bluetooth Firmware Update 1.2 even needed (in my case)? It may just be a fluke that it's listing in the Software Update panel. I think we might be better off just ignoring it. It would be nice if Apple could definitively tell us more about when you'd need this update and when you wouldn't... For everyone who is having this update fail, is your firmware version number about 1.2 (is it 1.5xx)?

  • Iphone 6 with IOS 8.0.2 bluetooth broken with RHB430N Radio in 2011 Ram 1500

I got my 64GB Iphone 6 just after release date, paired properly with my RHB430N radio in my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and worked great. When the new update of IOS came out 8.0.2, I installed that on my phone. Now the bluetooth is broken with my radio. It seems to pair ok from the radio side but I get a message that the phone cant see the uconnect radio during pairing. When I try and make a call, It wont work through voice activation, if I do get to work, the call stays active for about 5sec on the radio then it shuts off, the phone stays on making the call. Weird!
I tried a factory reset on the radio, as well as network reset on my iphone with no luck. My Iphone 4S i had previously paired and worked fine with IOS 7.1.2
anyone else with the issue? I noticed a few other people with different vehicle makes with the same issue after the 8.0.2 update and like I said it paired and worked fine with IOS 8.0 out of the box.
any fixes or work arounds available meantime?

I got my 6 three days ago (fine device, by the way. Meg St Clair will be proud of me: I finally took the plunge, I who claimed that I would never buy another iPhone, but I'm dithering...), and so far, no issues, none whatsoever, when syncing my phone via USB.
WiFi syncing is another matter, though, because the phone simply doesn't appear in iTunes. I've checked all the right boxes, made sure the phone was set to accept WiFi syncing, to no avail.
I'll look into it this weekend, just in case I missed something.
But I can tell you this: all the content I had backed-up is now back on the phone, nothing's missing. I have a 2006 MacBook Pro running Snow Leppard.

  • HT4623 I updated my iphone with IOS 7 and my wifi and bluetooth is not working. How can I go back to IOS 6?

I have updated my iphone 4s with the last version IOS 7.0.2.
At the beginning my screen freezing each time I enter numbers or letters (in iphone security code as well as texting in any app)
Now, my wifi and bluetooth are broken. I have tried to activate them 3 days and nothing.  I am lost. I have no internet in my telephone plan, so, all my apps are not working anymore.
How can I go back to IOS 6?
My iphone will be working correctly again???
    Thanks!
I very appreciatte any urgent answer .
    Paula

Downgrading the iOS is not supported at all.

  • Need driver for bluetooth

my board has the bluetooth card and antenna and I dont have a driver for it. It was bought by my father from KSA but the store owner didn't give all the stuff in the box, the stuff that was not included was an IDE cable, floppy cable, a disk and the cd driver.
I have downloaded most of the drivers except for its buetooth. The download site for MSI bluetooth is broken (http://www.msi.com.tw/html/service/techexpress/communication/bt_step/page1.htm)
If you people know who has a driver for the bluetooth please help me get it.

I guess no need for a snapshot, the bluetooth is working fine on the 1.3.1 version. The 1.4 version just dont accept my bluetooth device, it installs all the driver and software needed but it will not function because the message sez that the license of the bluetooth software does not cover my built-in bluetooth device. That's all.
The painfull part is that the latest nokia pc suite release 6.6 needs a 1.4 version of bluetooth driver and software to operate.
I have both 1.3 and 1.4 msi driver but only 1.3 version is working in my hardware.
The driver I downloaded here in is MSI msi_bluetooth_software1.4.3.4 which has the size of 22mb
The 1.3 file size is 20mb
For now I'm trying to find a lower version of nokia pc suite and I hope it works (somehow)

  • ****'it Apple! You broke Bluetooth now fix it!

    How could you do this?

It will be more helpful if you say exactly what is broken, what you're experiencing, what device you're using, what version of iOS you are using, etc. Just saying Bluetooth is broken and to fix it won't get you any help.

  • Grey wi-fi button - iphone 4s

Suddenly my wi-fi stopped working. Firstly it couldn't find any wireless networks, so i took it to a service. They told me that the problem happened because of the water and they showed me (in a picture, i wasn't there when they break out the phone) that sensors which turn red in contact with water. After some days, they gave my phone back and they told me that the only way to fix it is to change the motherboard. I can't do this and now the wi-fi button is greyed out and the bluetooth is broken too. What can i do?

if you bathe your phone in warm water and dry then rub cat or dog ***** all oveer the phone it should work like new

  • I cannot clear history without clearing cookies with Safari 8.0

I have the new Safari 8.0 with OS X Yosemite. I can not clear history without also clearing cookies. With Maverick it was possible to clear history and keep cookies, not now. This is NOT an improvement! Is there a way to keep cookies and clear history?

this is absolutely the worst period of apple I've ever experienced. and I've worked with them since apple iic.
iOS 8 made my working phone a wreck, and then they take down the option to (downgrade) fix it.
yosemite has left with me a computer that cannot do anything. bluetooth is broken and causes audio delay.
there is constant video delay cause of system wide slow down. my system cache is overflowing constantly
since upgrading, i am continously throwing away trash just to keep the system working.
no mail notifications so i have to leave the mail program open all the time which also causes system slowdown.
this is the worst heap of junk they ever "sold" on us. i had working machines, after i did what they said would be fine i now have 2 piles of wasted money.
