Bluetooth issue won't let you hang up phone.

Question

iOS 8x is causing my iPhones [5S and 6] to make phantom calls when connected to bluetooth calling devices [headset and car]. 
One can NOT hang up the phone on these without breaking the bluetooth connection somehow.  The fastest way is to reboot the phone, breaking the BT connection and disconnecting the call by dropping the carrier connection.
[I haven't tried setting it to airplane mode, but now that I think if it - since that would break the carrier connection - that might work as a gludge]
The problem appears to be the iOS 8 BT coding, or a firmware code upgrade for the BT chipset is necessary. 
Please address this problem Apple.

Finally getting a chance to sit down and write this. 
After installing iOS 8.1 on my Apple 6 iPhone the bluetooth problems, but for one or two very minor issues that have work arounds that I am not going to go into here because I want to keep this short, have disappeared. 
This makes one thing painfully obvious, the problem was an operating system or upgradable firmware problem just as it has been in the past. 
Also just as it has been in the past Apple denied that was the case.  It's only acknowledgement of the problem is the part in the release notes where it says, "Fixes an issue that could prevent connections to Bluetooth hands-free devices". 
Pages and pages of people with problems wondering when, and if, something was going to be done.  What would have helped them all was someone from Apple stating in a place where it could be seen, "We hear you.  We know about it.  We are working on a fix."
The the update comes out, the fix is in it, Apple gains in credibility and it's becomes  'a company that listens'. 
Why is that never done?
