Bluetooth keyboard lag - Yoga 2

I bought a Yoga Tablet 2 10 w/keyboard 3 weeks ago. The bluetooth keyboard works fine but every once in a while what I type would not appear on the screen. It happens randomly and lasts for 10-15 seconds. If I had kept typing when the words weren't showing, after 10-15 seconds all the words would suddenly appear, but would appear jumbled. I asked somewhere else and the person asked me to try to turn off BT sleep mode under Device Management. But I can't find it, I only found Device Manager and I can't find the place to turn that setting off. I think it might not be the issue anyway because the keyboard shouldn't be sleeping; the lag happens as I type. Please let me know what I should do, or if this is an issue with the keyboard and I'll need to return it for another one.  Thanks.

Please post back if you solve this.  I would like to buy a Yoga 2 Pro, but for some reason, Lenovo will not ship a non-bilingual keyboard to Canada.

  • Bluetooth keyboard lags 15 secs after application switching?

Doesn't matter what bluetooth keyboard I use. Doesn't matter if I switch between apps by keyboard or mouse. Keyboard seems to remember all keystrokes, and spits them all out after 15 secs or so, but remains frozen until then. Computer fine in every other respect. Totally responsive to USB mouse interface while keyboard is down. Disk Utility checks out okay. Multiple restarts attempted. Can't trace the problem to the activity of a single application. Only thing new that happened recently was installation of Maverick, but I'm not even sure that's the issue.
    Help!!

Great to hear, thanks & good luck!
PS. I don't know how any 3rd parties can afford to keep up with Apple's changes my self.

  • Bluetooth keyboard lags and disconnects after upgrading to Yosemite

After updating to OS X Yosemite, I'm having serious bluetooth issues. The keyboard will sporadically stop working and I'm not able to type anything. When I check the bluetooth in the top menu bar, it says it is still connected even when it's not working. The other thing it does is lag veryyy badly. At first it will appear that it's just stopping again, but then the first letter will show up with the option for all the other versions of the letter like it does when you hold down a key. After about 3 seconds the next letter I originally typed shows up and follows suit. It does the same "holding it down" thing with the space bar and delete key as well, so you can imagine my frustration when a chunk of what I just wrote out is deleted and there's nothing I can do to stop it. The lag and this repeating key thing is so severe that I literally cannot get anything done. I'm a graphic designer so I need to use a mouse and keyboard together all day long and this is making it impossible for me to get anything done.
The only thing that seems to get it back working again is opening the keyboard bluetooth preferences, turning OFF the keyboard, waiting a bit, and turning it back on. And this only works some of the time. It will say "connected" right after I turn it back on but still won't let me type anything. After a couple tries it'll start working again.
I also have some issues with the mouse disconnecting but connects right away when you click. However, I now use a Wacom tablet so I don't have a need for the mouse anymore. The key shortcuts on my tablet will stop working at some points too, so I know the keyboard is my biggest problem.
I installed the Yosemite update (10.10.1) this morning, hoping that would save the day and I'm still having the same problem. I've had to do the "turn off keyboard" thing 3 times already in this post. I also reset the PRAM and rebooted a couple times-- still nothing. I'm at my wit's end with this thing, and I can't find any answers online. I'm about to chuck this keyboard out into this 5 feet of Buffalo snow.
If anyone can pleaseeee help me I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you!

USB mouse and built-in trackpad work fine, but I have a similar issue with the Magic Trackpad which leads me to believe it is a BT issue.
My phone does have BT switched on, but I never had any problems like this with Lion, which suggests ML is the issue.
I did just find a solution that seems to work, although it's not permanent.
One guy figured out that the problem happened more frequently after waking from sleep (same is true for me), and turning the BT radio on and off helped. He made a command-line utility to do that.
Seems to work for me so far.

Have you update to these drivers?

  • Yoga 10 Bluetooth Keyboard disconnects

I just received my bluetooth keyboard for the Yoga 10.  The keyboard touch is very nice and the function keys will be useful.  My complaint is that every time the Yoga 10 goes to sleep I have to manually reconnect the keyboard using the bluetooth settings?  Is this normal?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I called Support and they did not know the answer.  So I figured it out myself.  In the Bluetooth setting screen you will see 3 dots ... next to SEARCH FOR DEVICES.  Touch those dots and choose Visibility Timeout and then set it to
    Never time out.

  • Yoga 10 HD+ Bluetooth keyboard closing apps

    Hi All,
I have a Yoga 10 HD+ with the lenovo Bluetooth keyboard. Everytime the keyboard shuts itself off, it closes whatever app I'm working on. Any suggestions about  how to rmemdy this? It was happening before and now after the upgrade to 4.4.
    Thanks in advance

Having a very similar issue.  My bluetooth keyboard isnt responsive and seems to drop off in terms of bluetooth connection.  Its almost like the keyboard disconnects when tablet sleeps or if you are not using the keyboard constantly.  Appreciate any help/advice.

  • Mac Mini - Bluetooth Mouse Lag / Sticking

So I wanted to cut the cord and say goodbye to Time Warner. I bought a slingbox and set it up at my parents place.
In my apartment, I got a Mac Mini to hook up via HDMI to a 42 inch TV and a 24 inch monitor to hook up via thunderbolt and VGA.
I have a bluetooth keyboard, which works fine.
Where I am really getting screwed is in the mouse category. I have a fancy mac bluetooth smart mouse and a cheap Amazon Basics wireless mouse that works with a USB dongle.
Lets say I turn the computer on and fire up Slingbox and have that playing on the TV. On the 24 inch monitor I am doing some work. What ends up happening is there ends up being a lag with the mouse.
I was thinking maybe this had something to do with the Mac Mini being weighed down by having to power two big monitors?
Any suggestions to get this mouse issue sorted out?

So if I plug a wired device in and we never have any issues with the mouse, we can assume something is wrong with a) bluetooth or b) the wireless signal being sent via the USB dongle to the mouse.
Then I can use one at a time and see if either one works?
I will give a whirl tonight!

  • Apple bluetooth Keyboard/mouse + gaming?

    Hello,
I've been trying to find this info on the net but haven't been able to so far...
Can anyone with Apple's bluetooth keyboard tell me if its response time is quick enough to make gaming possible?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Thanks for the input Martin. I'm not a hardcore gamer either, but I'd really hate to see some lag from the keyboard or mouse...
2 quick questions: do you get any connection problems with either of them? And are there USB ports on the wireless keyboard?
    Thanks

  • Bluetooooooooooth keyboard lagging / spontaneous key repeat

I have a 24in 2.4GHHHHHz iMac w/ 1gb rammmm. Recently my aluminum bluetooth keyboard has started lagging badly (up to 2-5 seconds betweennn key press and characterrr showing up on screen). In addition, it randomly repeats characters that I type (and no, I'm not holding the keys ddown).
I've seen posts on this topic before. I have performed thee 2008 keyboard firmware upgrade but still have the problem.
    I have tried:
    re-pairing iMac and dkeybooard
    restarting iMac
    replacing batteries
sometimes a solution will help for a few minutes (things operate as expected) then the problem resurfaces.
    Please heelp!

    Hello d:
Offhand, I would suspect a failing keyboard.
You could try a couple of easy things before you take it in for evaluation.
Trash a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) and restart (probably will not do anything).
    Rest the PRAM:

    hello!
    I've got the same problem:
at 50% of all time I have a small input-lag of ~0,2s, but the other 50% the input lag is more than 1 second! In this time I can do nothing!
I'm using it for my home cinema PC and have a distance of ~3m between keyboard and PC.
    Bluetooth-Card: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/centrino-advanced-n-6235.html?wapkw=intel+c...
for me this lag is not acceptable.
is there any solution for this? If not, I've to send the keyboard back and buy another one.
    greets!

  • Bluetooth devices lagging after wake from sleep sometimes.

I have the Apple bluetooth keyboard, magic mouse, and magic trackpad. All batteries are charged and I have tried others by the way. This issue only happens sometimes, as it has happened before, but stopped for a few months, and now happened again tonight. What is happening is that my laptop (macbook late 2009 with  mac os x 10.7.2) wakes from sleep (all default energy saver settings set and I am able to wake the macbook with any of the bluetooth devices), and my bluetooth devices mentioned above are laggy for about 15-45 seconds. What i mean by laggy is that when moving the mouse across the desk after the login screen is already fully loaded, it jumps and is clearly not tracking like it usually does. The bluetooth trackpad and keyboard experience this same issue.
Now the thing that leads me to believe it's bluetooth or software is that my macbook's built in keyboard and trackpad do not lag and function correctly as soon as the computer is woken from sleep and prompts me with my login screen. This also leads me to assume that it's not my computer running slowly or having too many processes or not enough memory. This problem happens even if I have no programs running (other than OS X's default processes). I have taken my macbook into the Apple genius bar thinking it was a bluetooth hardware issue, but they ran checks and confirmed that it was not and obciously, we could not get the issue to reproduce their at that time. I would love to hear from anyone who has experiecned this before, or is currently. We need to get Apple's attention with this issue because they have not listened to me when I submit a feekback form. This has been happening since 10.7.0 by the way. Thanks and happy holidays.
    macbook 6,1
    8gb memory
    mac os x 10.7.2 (happened on 10.7.0, and 10.7.1)
-I can wake my macbook with my bluetooth devices
-My built in macbook keyboard and trackpad do not experience this issue
-I don't see the "connected symbol" when the computer wake (everything is already connected)
-All default energy saver preferences set
-Using apple's rechargeable batteries for all three devices
    -minimal processes running
-devices function as normal after 15-45 seconds (it's not my desk)

I've got what sounds like the same problem with my new unibody MacBook Pro.
I've had the problem with both 10.6.1 and 10.6.2.
I also find that a reboot fixes things. In my case, I can sleep/wake multiple times with
no problem, but once the BT goes unresponsive upon wake, every subsequent sleep/wake
will suffer the problem until I next reboot.
I also discovered that in my case I can re-pair the non-responsive devices (two flavors
of Logitech mice and an Apple wireless keyboard) while in sick-BT mode and they will
work until I next sleep/wake, whereupon they will again fail to connect and my
choice is either to re-pair yet again, or reboot and have the problem go away, at least
    for awhile.
I'm trying to correlate my activity with my BT going out to lunch, but have yet to narrow
it down definitively. I have one or two data points that make me suspect it goes south
after I use VMware Fusion (Version 2), but I cannot yet rule that one completely in or out.
    /Kevin

  • Bluetooth keyboard no longer recognized by iMac

My Bluetooth keyboard has suddenly stopped working - it doesn't show up in BT preferences, nor in the dropdown BT menu. When I attempt to add a new BT device, the keyboard is recognised by its name (the one it has always had), but attempts to pair it always fail.
I have reset the SMC to no effect.
The green light doesn't flash while I'm attempting the pairing - I don't know whether it should or not.
BT seems flaky - sometimes it offers me a code for the pairing, but usually not. I've tried to pair it about thirty times in all.
I don't understand why the keyboard doesn't show up in the BT preferences, since its name is recognised when I attempt to pair it. Since its name doesn't show up in BT preferences, I obviously can't delete it from there and start afresh.
    All help gratefully received.

Update: I have solved the problem as follows.
1 I changed the name of the BT keyboard - I don't know if this relevant or not.
2 I took the keyboard out of range of my iMac by taking in down into my basement - when I did so and switched it on down there, the green light started to flash, indicating that it was now in pairing mode. Previously, when my keyboard was close to my iMac, the green light had not flashed.
3 I came back upstairs to my iMac, and BT setup recognised the keyboard under its new name.
4 BT setup then gave me the 8-digit pass code, which I entered, and the pairing was completed successfully.
So it seems that re-enabling the pairing mode can be achieved by taking the BT device out of range of the home computer, and once the BT device has established its pairing mode/status, the process works as it should. If this is correct, it may be of help to others with a similar problem.
