  • Is it possible to share 1 bluetooth keypad and 1 mouse pad between two computers in target mode?

Is it possible to share 1 bluetooth keypad and 1 mouse pad between two computers in target mode? Grab a drink and let me tell you my story.
I purchased two computers... an iMac 27" i7 3.4 16GB RAM and a Mac mini 2.3 i5 8 GB RAM. Both have Thunderbolt capability and are in fact connected by thunderbolt. I have 3 problems...
    1. My Mac mini WILL NOT recognize any bluetooth keyboard. Let me back up for clarification. I set my iMac up first. No problems there. I then went on to set up my mac mini. A couple of interesting things happened concering bluetooth activity. First thing is that the keypad, which was already paired with my iMac wouldn't be recognized by the mac mini, and yet my bluetooth mouse which was paired with my iMac became paired with my mac mini and thus wouldn't be recognized by my iMac anymore. I had to go to my back room and dig out my other bluetooth mouse so that my iMac would at least recognize my second mouse. So now I have two "mice"presently. One for the mac mini, the other for the iMac. Thankfully I also had a USB keypad for my mac mini. My bluetooth keypad is still paired with my iMac but won't pair with my mac mini, which brings me to another question....
    2. CAN 1 KEYPAD AND 1 MOUSE PAIR WITH TWO DIFFERENT COMPUTERS SO THAT WHEN I GO INTO TARGET MODE VIA THUNDERBOLT I CAN USE THE SAME KEYPAD AND MOUSE FOR BOTH COMPUTERS? Anybody have some thoughts on that problem?
    3. WHY IN THE WORLD IS MY MOUSE CURSOR DISAPPEARING EVERYTIME I EXIT TARGET MODE VIA PASSWORD AND COMMAND F2. I'm using target mode to access my mac mini. But when I exit target mode to get back into my iMac I'm looking at my iMac screen but I can't see the mouse pointer! I can move the pointer around even though I can't see it. Wierd. And this has apparently been going on for some time with other users for over a year. I am presently completely up to date on Lion updates. Both systems are running 10.7.4. Does anyone have a solution or heard a rumor of a solution coming soon regarding the invisible mouse cursor "curse". I hate having to restart my iMac everytime I exit out of target mode just so I can get my mouse cursor visible again.
Food for thought.... Wouldn't it be really cool to have a target mode capability to see your other computers desktops in seperate window screens on your main display. You then could go back and forth from each window by just double clicking or by certain key commands. You could drag and drop from desktop to desktop. Tell me this is coming soon.
    Thanks

  • Lmp bluetooth keypad connection issues

I bought the LMP Bluetooth Keypad for my new system.  I put batteries in it and turn it one and push it together with my wireless keyboard and the light shows it's on but I can't get it to work.  Can  someone help me?
    Thanks

Make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Hit Bluetooth in your System Preferences, and make sure the 'Discoverable' box is checked (on). Then hit Keyboard in System Prefs, and hit 'Set Up Bluetooth Keyboard' at the bottom. You should be promted to enter a code from your new keyboard. I hope this helps~

  • Cannot get LMP Bluetooth Keypad to work

I cannot get my LMP Bluetooth Keypad WKP-1314 to work. I get it paired just as the instructions say, and it says it's connected in the bluetooth menu, but then when I try to use it it does not do anything. Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem.  I take mine back and forth in my backpack and started turning it off to conserve battery.  I turn it on before powering up my MBP.  The light blinks amber (seraching/connecting) but always times out and I have to setup it back up every day.  Annoying as ****.  Fresh batteries don't change this either.
Really wish Apple would make a wireless keyboard with built-in keypad!

You can upgrade memory and the hard drive. Nothing else is user-upgradeable. All processors are soldered to the motherboard.
    Maximum Memory
16 GB (Actual) 8 GB (Apple)
    Memory Slots
    2 - 204-pin PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
You can see HDD and SSD options at OWC. Reliable RAM vendors are OWC, DataMem, and Crucial.com.

  • I am using a LMP Bluetooth keypad and it started to use batteries up every three days?

My LMP bluetooth key pad started to use batteries up every three days, never use to do this. Is it broke? The batteries use to last for months, not days.

Ask the keypad manufacturer for assistance.

  • Bluetooth won't work on my iMac

Hi, my Bluetooth on my iMac all of a sudden isn't working. I have a wireless keyboard, mighty mouse, magic mouse, trackpad and an aftermarket add on LMP number pad, all BT and nothing works. I made the mistake of rebooting (thinking that would solve) but now I'm sitting at log in, unable to do anything. Frustrating! I've done:
    - batteries (always the first option, although when everything quits, it isn't batteries)
    - shut down everything BT, turned off my iMac, unplugged it, waited a min, re plugged, turned on only the keyboard and one mouse, watched them blink for an eternity trying to pair, with no success
    - every other little combination I could think of
I can't access the settings to try and do anything, although I did that when it first happened before shutting it down, but shutting off and trying to pair, but the same thing, the wheel goes 'round until it decided to stop.
I tried logging onto my iMac with my MacBook but as I was only on the log in screen, I couldn't do it, it just showed "server not available"
Help! I need to get this thing up and running. Not sure if this helps but a little bit about the comp...
    - Late 2012 27" iMac purchased new in May 2013 (Apple Store) 3.4 Ghz, 32 Gigs RAM, OS Mavericks 10.9.1
    - Hard drive is partitioned with Parallels 8, Windows 8.1, RAM split between the two (didn't switch over before powering off to see if Windows was working)
    - Peripherals are listed above
    Thanks

I know I only posted this thing a half an hour ago, but I got it running in a weird way. I hope this helps someone else.
I rebooted again and all was the same except that this time I noticed the generic "guest" user. A small aha, and I clicked on it, it opened to the stock Desktop photo but with no icons or files. Thinking nothing's happening, I clicked on System Preference anyways in the tray, still nothing, but about 30 seconds later, Preferences fired up, I went to BT and it was turned off, which it wasn't on my main profile. After a few second delay it started recognizing my stuff. After the Keyboard and mouse fired up, I turned on the Magic Pad, it too initiated. I've left the LMP Bluetooth Keypad shut off for now, I had a hard time getting it running when I got it at Xmas and it seemed to affect my Apple Wireless Keyboard a little at that time, and want to work for a week or so before before introducing it again.
Nothing magic, just seeing the not so obvious is what did it. I'd still like to know how all this happened in the first place but so happy to be back at it!

  • Keyboard, keypad glitch after Security Update 2015-002

The overview is: keyboard problems developed shortly after Security Update-002 on Mavericks 10.9.5. I tried OS update to Yosemite; didn’t fix the problem. Reverted OS back to 10.9.5 using Time Machine for a backup date prior to the Sec Update; this fixed the problem.
Mac mini5,2, 16gbram, wired Apple Pro Keyboard (M7803, circa Mac Cube), Apple Wireless Keyboard, LMP Wireless Numeric Keypad, Apple Magic Mouse (A1296?) iPad 2
Within the past 2 days, Apple BT keyboard alpha keys stopped typing. During troubleshooting, I discovered that problems extended to BT keyboard, BT keypad, and wired spare USB extended keyboard. The BT keyboard pairs and works fine with my iPad. Here’s a list of the glitches:
    Apple Wireless keyboard:
      alpha keys NO INPUT
      space key NO INPUT
      Delete key works
      Force-Quit sequence works
fn, cntrl, opt, Apple, arrow keys, shift all work
      top row keys work
    LMP Bluetooth keypad:
      keypad: 1..4, 6..9 NO INPUT
keypad "5" registers a mouse click, NO INPUT
keypad "0" jumps to mouse cursor first press only, NO INPUT
      =/*-+ and arrows work
    Apple Pro USB extended keyboard:
num keys: 1..4, 6..9 NO INPUT
keypad "5" registers a mouse click, NO INPUT
keypad "0" jumps to mouse cursor first press only, NO INPUT
alpha keys and number row keys work
      keypad =/*-+ and arrows work
Besides proving the wireless keyboard works on my iPad, I reset PRAM with no improvement. (I had no problems with my Bluetooth Magic Mouse.)
Next step was OS upgrade via Software Update to Yosemite. All above glitches remained.
Next, I reverted to Mavericks 10.9.5 using a Time Machine OS backup dated prior to 9Mar15, the date of Security Update 2015-002. After this, both keyboards and keypad resumed working. Seems clear that the Security Update is the culprit, no?
I reported the issue to Apple via Support Chat.
I would like to eventually upgrade back to the Security Update and Yosemite but not when it breaks my keyboard. Perhaps I could skip over the Sec. Update and go to Yosemite? Any suggestions?

    Update:
The day after I reverted to 10.9 to repair keyboard glitches caused by Security Update 2015-002 (and persistent in Yosemite), Apple released Security Update 2015-004. Such a quick succession of -004 on top of both -002 and -003 was the hint to me that -004 contained fixes to the glitches.
I crossed my fingers and jumped back on the install-wagon. Yosemite 10.3 completed its second installation and my keyboards/keypads remain functional!

  • Bluetooth adapter missing

After years of reliable service, my bluetooth adapter quit last night on my Mac Pro 5,1 (mid 2010) 12 core tower. I have been using Apple's wireless keyboard, magic mouse, magic trackpad, bluetooth keypad, and logitech wireless headset until I went to launch a Steam game and the mouse just quit moving. Of course I changed batteries, etc and finally found and tried my old wired keyboard and mouse.
When I go into System Information and look at the Bluetooth section under Hardware I have ?No information found" for the bluetooth adapter. Everything else looks like it should with no errors. The bluetooth status in the status bar is grayed out with a Not Available message.
So I am looking for an apple replacement part for the bluetooth adapter as I understand that EFI firmware updates require an integrated bluetooth adapter or you lose keybpard support for that process I would also like to know if anyone has tried other third-party bluetooth dongles or add-in cards with success.
Thanks for any advice you might have.

I'm back and working, I reset the NVRAM.
To do so, follow these simple steps:
    Power off the Mac Pro
On a wired keyboard press Command+P+R and hold them
    Power on the Mac Pro
While continuing to hold the COMMAND+P+R keys wait for the system to boot into the System Utilities screen. At that point all the wireless (bluetooth) devices were working so I restarted the Mac.
If anyone has any third-party bluetooth adapter suggestions I'd love to hear about them all the same.

  • Keypad lights but no activity

Heard a "pop" last night, checked everything around the iMac and the only thing not working correctly was the bluetooth keypad extension on the keyboard.  Get a yellow light when I push reset, green when turned on and off.  But no key action.
Is it possible something gave out in the keypad but some functions still remain active?  Any way to test it short of maybe going to an Apple store?
    Thanks.

I attempted to connect using DHCP, but that returned an error message, which suggested I contact my service provider. So I did that. Based on my type of modem, the rep said I should be using PPPoe. In the airport utility I reset it to PPPoe.
The problem was solved, but shutting everything down. modem, airport, and mac.
Restarting modem. waiting for all lights
    restarting airport.
    restarting mac.
The mac found the airport, and connected with the timer running, ethernet did NOT connect, which was happening before, somehow.
    Browse to web pages worked.
Now I have to sort out the printing.

  • LMP Keypad Erratic Behaviour

    Hi All,
I have found various topics regarding the LMP Bluetooth Keypad, most of which are connection issues or comma issues,
I have a somewhat strange problem, my keypad loves to erratically give my = button presses,
if i leave it turned on when typing this it would read more like ==========================
Ive tried all resetting, pairing, repairing, change battery etc.. all to no availe, it doesnt always have this issue, i can go a short time with no problems,
Has anyone had / overcome this issue.
is it perhaps a Mavericks issue or current bluetooth version?
I did not buy this new so cant return it, however i did know the previous owner and there was never any issues.
    Thanks.

There may be a support or user group site whose focus includes issues and answers for that product; and because user experience varies, depends on installation, version of OS, and other factors, this may not be a great place to find any kind of specific answer...
I did see a few results when I looked up the name here:

Perhaps you may find a link to helpful resources with questions & answers.

  • I want bluetooth for the magic track pad

when will APPLE make it so that the magic track pad can be used with the iPad2?  I am not interested in the bluetooth keypad....I want track pad feature that enables scrolling photos without touching the screen.

I thought the whole point of an iPad was touching the screen.......

  • Aftermarket mouse and keyboard

I'm looking to see if there's any good aftermarket wireless keyboards and mice that are Mac specific? I'd prefer black as well since I have a black MacBook. I've looked around and most of the wireless keyboards and mice that are PC and Mac compatible have key layouts for a PC. I'd really rather have one that's Mac specific. I'd even use the white aluminum one if they made it with a numberpad like the wired one. I have the white aluminum wired keyboard and Mighty Mouse. I like it fine for the office. But I need something for home. Any suggestions?
