Bluetooth Might Mouse Problems

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but:
My bluetooth might mouse stops working after about 5 minutes of use. The arrow moves, but it's impossible to click on anything. Sometimes the arrow grabs a window, and it's impossible to let go of it.
If I turn the mouse off, then back on, it works fine, but this is really annoying!
Thanks for any input!
Rob

I am running into the same problem. I have yet to figure out a fix except turn the mouse on and off. Lately (as of yesterday) the mouse won't wake my machine up from sleep. When I press a key on the laptop's keyboard, it wakes up with a message that the connection to the mouse was lost.

  • Bluetooth Might Mouse Weight?

I'm sorry if this has been discussed, but a quick search didn't come up with anything.
I'm considering selling me Might Mouse (Apple is sending me a brand new one to replace a broken one) and get the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse, but my concern is its weight.
I owned the Wireless Mouse and wasn't very happy how heavy it was. When the Might Mouse came out I was thrilled it was so light and the cord isn't that big of a deal. What I would like is a light Mighty Mouse with the laser tracking, wireless is a bonus to me.
How heavy is the Bluetooth Might Mouse compared to the MM or the original Wireless Mouse?
    Thanks for your help everyone!

Since the Mighty Mouse ships with Lithium batteries, the weight is less then if you were to use the mouse with regular alkaline batteries. If you hold two alkalines in one hand, and two lithiums in the other, you can tell the difference.

  • Might Mouse problem

    Hi!
I have a wirless (bluetooth) mighty mouse. Using the scroll button, it will scroll down, but not up. I've replaced the batteries and restarted the system, same behavior.
Is it dead? If so, any idea how long the warranty is?
    Thanks!
    texas_spn

The most common cause for this (and it is very common) is that the mouse needs cleaning. Hold it upside down, and be sure you get all the surfaces of the scroll ball. (It only takes about a nanometer of skin cells or oils to make the darned thing stop scrolling in one direction. Sometimes it helps if you give it a smack or two on your hand, too.

  • Bluetooth Mighty Mouse problem

I have a MacBook Pro, current with all software updates. I have an intermittent problem with the wireless mighty mouse (which also causes a problem with the trackpad button). The left mouse button stops working--the (secondary) right button and scroll button will work but it makes it terribly hard to select things...
If I turn off Bluetooth, the trackpad button resumes. Although I cannot reproduce this problem on demand, it happens several times a day.
I am not sure whether it is a software or hardware problem. Anyone with a similar experience?

  • Bluetooth Mighty Mouse Problems - NO RIGHT CLICK.

i tried dozens of times... i can't use the right click. it acts as a primary button even though i set it to secondary...
is there another way of setting it so that it is secondary that i didn't do so that it would cause such a phenomenon?
    I NEED HELP. please.

    Alex,
Do a search of this forum for "mighty mouse right button" or "mighty mouse secondary button." There are a number of problems it may be. The first thing to be sure is that you aren't touching the left button at all while you try to right click. The MM works via sensing whether a finger is on the right or left side of the mouse, and if you are touching the left button even slightly it will register as a primary click rather than a secondary.
Second, there are also issues that have been reported with the BT MM losing the ability to sense that primary / secondary difference after some period of time. Replacing the mouse (sometimes needing to go through a few replacements) does seem to eventually fix that.
If it doesn't seem to be an issue with contact on the sensor, I'd suggest returning the mouse and requesting a new one.

  • Bluetooth Might Mouse Not Detected in Boot Camp Windows XP

Title says it all. I'm using a Mac Book Pro. I've slid the bottom of the mouse open and closed and a dialog actually came up to enter the pass code. I did, it was successfully set up but my mouse won't move. I have to go to my track pad...

I got it to work. Just using Winblows...blows. I had to open and close the mouse & click and move with it about a thousand times and added it about a hundred times before it started to work. I'm sticking with my Logitech Laser Mouse.

  • Sluggish Bluetooth mighty mouse

I recently purchased a bluetooth might mouse. Now I also use a blue wacom tablet. If I have both active at the same time, the tablet still works fine, but the mouse behaves sluggish and jumpy. Is this normal and is there a way around it? Seems like the system should be able to handle two blue connections at once smoothly.

    Hi piratemc74
It's like there is only so much bandwidth on some channel that is shared with wireless and bluetooth.
Yup that's correct but "The more I think about it, the more I think I should think about it some more."
I don't use Bluetooth so I don't know it's options but I know how it all works. If your WiFi & Bluetooth are using the 'Automatic' channel selection to avoid interference then that's the problem. If so then change the WiFi to use one channel (1, 6 or 11) and see what happens.
    Good Luck.

  • Using the bluetooth mighty mouse

My original bluetooth mouse died so I bought the new bluetooth might mouse. This is a really nice mouse. Does it go to sleep like the original bluetooth mouse? I never turned that one off.

Thanks, Andy. I could have looked that up for myself, couldn't I? Still better late than never. Here are a couple of interesting things I've found at Green Batteries.
*Why do my alkaline batteries run down so quickly when used in a digital camera (or other electronic device)?*
Alkaline batteries were not designed to meet the very high power demands of today's electronic devices. Alkaline batteries have a high rated capacity, but they can only deliver their full capacity if the power is used slowly. (See chart). Electronic devices such as digital cameras place a high power drain on batteries, so it is much better to use rechargeable NiMH or NiCd batteries for these type of devices. Lithium batteries also work well in high drain applications but they are expensive and are not designed to be recharged.
*Can NiMH batteries be substituted for alkaline batteries even though they are only 1.2 volts?*
Yes, for most high drain electronic applications NiMH batteries are ideal substitutes and you needn't worry about the apparent voltage differences. Even though alkaline batteries are rated at a nominal 1.5 volts, they only deliver 1.5 volts when they are fully charged. As they begin to discharge the voltage of alkaline batteries continuously drops. In fact, over the course of their discharge, alkaline batteries actually average about 1.2 volts. That's very close to the 1.2 volts of a NiMH battery. The main difference is that an alkaline battery starts at 1.5 volts and gradually drops to less than 1.0 volts. NiMH batteries stay at about 1.2 volts for most of their discharge cycle.

  • Fix for Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse Freeze problem.

After deleting the following file: /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
And re-pairing my Apple Bluetooth keyboard and mouse all of my freezing problems have been resolved.

    For what it's worth...
I have read a bunch of different threads on this. So far I have:
    - downgraded my TimeCapsule (still had problems)
    - Upgraded to 10.5.7 (still had problems)
    - made both the bluetooth keyboard and might mouse "favorites" per http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1907901&tstart=30
    - disabled bluetooth in the network panel
...and left an old PC mouse connected to a USB port.
The add as favorites / disable in network panel I have done fairly recently and - so far - no problems.
    YMMV...

  • Updated to Windows 8.1, Having Problems with Touchscreen, Bluetooth, and Mouse

So, I'm having a few problems that I've tried googling and even looking through all these threads about the same problems but I can't seem to find someone (HP tech OR User) with a solution.
    I have a few problems:
    1) Touchscreen doesn't work anymore
    2) Mouse pointer does not appear on screen anymore (It's not "invisible" it's just completely not there)
    3) Bluetooth file transfer from my phone (Galaxy Note 3) to laptop and vice versa does NOT work
There are also a few things that I've already tried:
    1) Hardware and Software troubleshoot
    2) Updating drivers
    3) Removing and re-installing programs (Synaptic)
    4) Connecting to a mouse (which solves the mouse problem, but when disconnected, the moust pointer is stuck where it was last pointing)
    5) Restarting the laptop (multiple times into different modes)
My laptop is the HP ENVY TouchSmart m6-k025dx Sleekbook (Energy Star)
And I've only had the laptop for a few months. EVERYTHING was GREAT until I updated the stupid Windows 8.1 update. I've been sitting here for a good week now trying to figure out a way to fix this. Really about to throw this out the window.
    PLEASEEEE AND THANK YOU!

    Hello amykwon0520,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I thank you for provide the amount of information you have. I do have a few questions for you to start with though.
    1) After updating to Win 8.1, did you make sure that all updates were completed? (Please check to make sure all Windows updates are completed, as well as using the HP Support Assistant to verify drive updates are completed.)
    2) The driver updates that you've complete. What driver's have you updated? Where did you do the updates from? (device manager, downloaded from online, ect..) If downloaded, was it form this page: HP ENVY TouchSmart m6-k025dx Sleekbook Drivers?
    3) Did everything work correctly prior to the updates to 8.1?
To address the issues that you mention having since doing the update, I have a document for each one that may help you with resolve it.
    1) TouchScreen not working - Please following the troubleshooting in this document: Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues in Windows 8.
    2) Mouse point not appearing on screen/touchpad not responding - Please following the suggestions in this document: Using and Troubleshooting the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 8).
    3) Bluetooth and file transfers - Please refer to this document: Using Bluetooth Devices (Windows 8).

  • Bluetooth keyboard and mouse problems

    Dear friends,
I think something is wrong with my bluetooth devices... They work perfecly well for a period of time (maybe 1 hour, maybe 2 minutes) and after this period they stop working well. They are not disconnected, they keep working, but they are super lagish, e.g. the mouse cannot be controlled, the keyboard have super latency or it keeps repeating a button i selected.
When this occurs I turn off bluetooth from my status bar, and turn it again on right away. That solves the problem for again a period of time. This issue was first introduced to me after I installed Lion on my mac. After this and some other problems I experienced in Lion, I decided to switch back to snow leopard again. The thing is that the problem persisted...
    Any suggestions ???
    Thanks

    OK. New input...
Updated again to Lion. As soon as I updated the problem began again. Once again I deleted the com.apple.bluetooth file and reset both pram and smc.
For two days my bluetooth devices were working perfectly fine. None issues.
Today, I was in a hurry and put my mac on sleep by closing the lid. As soon as I opened the lid again
    the problem unveiled again.
What on earth is happening ?? It cannot be a keyboard or mouse problem, can it ??
Little help, please... It seems managable, but performing a smc and pram reset every couple days doen't
    seem right...
    Regards

  • U410 Bluetooth mouse problem

    Hi
    I have a brand new U410 running Windows 6.
I also have a brand new Microsoft Bluetooth 5000 mouse.
I am not able to connect the two.
I have tried "Add device" in Settings. I only get a "device not found".
I have tried updating the bluetooth driver (Device Manager) but windows says that the driver is the latest.
The Microsoft Mouse/Keyboard software is installed.
Any ideas what to try next.

    Hi
    Welcome To Lenovo Community
We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing,
Press and hold the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse. If your device has a battery indication light, it will blink and alternate between red and green to indicate that the device is discoverable.
On the computer, open the Bluetooth software. The Bluetooth software is typically located in Control Panel. For more information about opening the Bluetooth software, see the "How to open the Bluetooth software" section.
Click the Devices tab, and then click Add.
Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
A Microsoft Bluetooth mouse does not require a passkey to connect to the computer. If you are prompted for a passkey, select No passkey. If you do not get the No Passkey option, try to enter 0000 as a passkey by using your keyboard.

  • Mouse problems with v10.7 Lion and VMWare Fusion 3.1.3; reboot of Lion temporarily fixes it

Since installing Lion, my VMWare Fusion 3.1.3 Windows 7 and XP virtual machines have very strange mouse problems.  I thought it might have been caused by 3rd party software on my iMac (Mouse Zoom), because it seemed to work after removing the software, but I have now discovered that it is actually the reboot of OS X v10.7 (and now v10.7.1) that temporarity removes the problem.  However, after a while the problem comes back, requiring another reboot of Lion.
The problem is strange behavior of mouse button clicks inside the virtual machine, e.g. unable to double click on a folder or program in Windows because it jumps back to the higher folder tree, as if I had hit the ESC key.  In addition to my USB and BlueTooth mice, the Mac touchpad also has the problem.  I have confirmed that the problem is probably in how VMWare maps the iMac human interface devices (HIDs) to the virtual mouse inside the VM, because I am able to get correct mouse function by attaching one of my mice directly to the Virtual Machine (there is an edit to the VMX file that enables HID devices).
I have deleted and reinstalled VMWare Fusion 3.1.3 per suggestions on the VMWare support site and/or various forums, but that did not help.

According to: http://roaringapps.com/app:61 Version 3.1.3 has issues with Lion.  There is a 2011 beta that works better.

  • Mighty mouse problem

I have a problem using wireless mighty mouse.
My might mouse does not work even if I changed batteries.
I clicked system preference-keyboad & mouse, but there is trackpad instead of mouse.
I installed the sftware of mighty mouse before, and I could use the mouse well.
I did not use mouse when I was in Japan.
After coming back to the U.S., I tried to find my mouse by bluetooth set up assistant; however, I was not able to find mouse that had new battery.
    I use macbook(black) and Mac OS X 10.4.8.
    Does anyone help me?
    Thanks and Regards.

Are you sure you have bluetooth enabled? I would try replacing the batteries again and start from scratch (i.e. turn everything off and then back on again to see if this solves the problem). If this does not solve the problem you may have a broken mouse... I am not sure what the warranty terms are on the mighty mouse, but I am sure if you brought it into an Apple store they could help you out.

  • Fix for bluetooth connection connectivity problems...

    Hi,
I have had problems connecting my bluetooth for both my nokia's 6300 & 6500 classic to each other, my car and any other device. After just sitting there and searching i found this is the best way:
    1. Turn on bluetooth
    2. Make sure your phone is visible to all
    3. Instead of clicking on search audio enhancements go to Paired Devices and either select New or if you have already got any paired devices click Options on one of them and click Pair new device and a search will begin. The device you want to connect to should now be found.
    Hope it works
