Bluetooth Module missing

What does one do when the macbook says the bluetooth module is not installed? I was working on getting the macbook to see my mobile phone, now I cannot get into the setting for bluetooth no matter where I go on the macbook. How can the module be there, and then just gone?

This happened to me, just reset the PRAM. Restart holding down the Command, Option, P and R keys until you hear the second startup sound. It should work after that.
Good Luck.

  • Lost Bluetooth module

    Hi,
I've got a new iMac Aluminum 20"... After I unbox it and install all the updates (10.5.7 and some firmware update) I realized that my bluetooth icon in the status bar was missing...
I opened system preferences pane and there was no bluetooth there either...
When I tried to use the bluetooth file exchange app this came up on the screen:
Then I opened the system profiter to look for the bluetooth module information it said I don't have a bluetooth module...
Is this a hardware problem and I should take the computer back to the store or it's a software problem??
    Please someone help me
    Thanks....

    Thanks from me, too...
Mine disappeared when I'd shut down the laptop for about 15-20 minutes. Restarted with the install disk, ran disk utility, and on the second restart it was back.
One question: I couldn't get my MacBook Pro, OS 10.5.8 (just got it in July) to give me startup options when I held down either the D or C during a restart. (I've used it with bootcamp partition, and it works there). However, when I went to startup prefs, the install disk was there as an option.
OK, one more question: I didn't see anything that said "diagnostics," only the utilities menu that has the disk utility. Don't recall ever seeing "diagnostics," actually, in any Mac version, especially not hardware diagnostics. Am I missing something, or is the reference generic? (Note, though, that running disk repair from the install disk apparently solved problem).

  • Airport / Bluetooth module replacement - MacBook Pro

I upgraded Bluetooth module in a 2010 MacBook Pro, after doing so, I get a no Bluetooth device available message. My wifi, which I believe is part of the upgraded module, works perfectly. With that new module not working, I then reinstalled the old Bluetooth card and the message still appeared and Bluetooth was unavailable.  I tried the resets outlined in many posts including SMC and PRAM. I am using yosemite. To help clarify, both cards are showing in system profile when they are installed in the network section. Bluetooth is where it says is missing. Any ideas?

Well ... the first question is are you sure that upgraded Bluetooth module you installed is supported by your 2010 MacBook Pro? I believe after a certain year, these modules are combination Bluetooth/Wi-Fi cards. Prior to that, they were separate. I don't believe the combo card can be used in this case.

  • Macbook pro 15.4" - no bluetooth module?

Has anyone experienced a missing bluetooth module in their macbook pro?
In my System Profiler, the Bluetooth page says "No information found".

  • HP integrated bluetooth module in Pavilion dv7-2173cl Entertainment Notebook PC support A2DP?

Is my 2009 internal bluetooth module out of date?  Can I upgrade?
I can connect an external bluetooth speaker, but windows is unable to find drivers.  According to HP.com, the drivers are up to date.  The icon for the speaker shows up in Devices and Printers window, but with a yellow error triangle.  It seems pairing is successful up to a point; I just can't use the bluetooth peripheral.  I know I can buy an external usb dongle that may or may not work, but I want don't want to have another external usb dongle as I have one for a mouse.

    SillyBilly1,
Sorry for not replying to the second part of your post.
I didn't notice it until after I hit post and then I had to do some research and there is not much documentation which devices are A2DP.
From talking to people, your laptop Bluetooth will support the A2DP.
The device that you are trying to connect the laptop will be what has the restriction on it.
Let me know how everything goes.

  • I have a question about getting a Bluetooth module installed on my MacPro Desktop running 10.6.8.

I have the following MacPro Desktop. Model Identifier MacPro1,1, with two Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processors at 2.66 GHz. I have 4 GB of memory. There is not a Bluetooth module installed, but I would really like to be able to disconnect from my Logitech USB headphones and go to a Bluetooth set for more mobility in my office.
I use Line 2 Pro VOIP phone service and sometimes I need to move from my desk to a file cabinet to retrieve something while on the phone. I hate putting people on hold while I do this.
    First, is this possible?
Second, if it is, where do I find such a module?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

  • Satellite Pro M70 - What is the Bluetooth module part number

Could someone who has a Toshiba Satellite Pro M70, with bluetooth, tell me the part number of the bluetooth module please?
You can reed it from one of the labels under your notebook. You can read bluetooth in it, the part number is in the up left side of the label, and it will be something like this: PA3418U-BTM.
    Thanks.

    Hi
Why you dont make a call to the authorized service partner in your country and would order an compatible BT module for your notebook?
In my opinion this would be the easiest way to get one.
Unfortunately Im not owner of Sat Pro M70 and therefore I dont know the BT part number. But my A210 has been equipped with an internal BT module and the part number is PA3608U-1BTM

    Hi,
You canr use text modules in script. You have to use standard texts .
Standard text are maintained in SO10 transaction.
you can create translation text for other languages also . So based on logon language it will print translation text.
    go to SO10
give textname it say Ztextname  id as ST and language as EN
say create, then you will get editor there maintain your text and save it . then come back . Now change language (say for german DE) say create and eneter translation text and save it.
so now you have created a text called ztextname which you can use in your script.
Inorder to insert the texts in your script do as below
go to any window editor and   select path
    Insert->texts->symbols->standard symbols
then you will get popup  in which you have to mention all the parameters that you have created earlier.
after inserting just change language EN to sy-langu
    Reward points if useful
About text elements Sravan already given some informatiomn
    Regards,

  • Mac Mini: Bluetooth Module (Creating a Buzz)

I have a high pitched buzzing sound coming from my Mac Mini's audio out right channel whenever the Bluetooth module is active. I have tried numerous recommendations and suggestions, but nothing seems to eliminate the buzz. Outside of disabling the Bluetooth or purchasing an USB audio interface. This situation is proving to be a disappointing one. Primarily because of the indented use for the Mini as a digital music and movie storage and playback unit, is being compromised by me having to hover over my computer instead of relaxing from the sofa without obtrusive wires being everywhere. Please... any help will be greatly appreciated.

As posted in the other thread:
Sean, you might try a ferrite ring which should be obtainable from Radio Shack. It'll be about an inch in diameter and you thread the speaker cable through it and wrap a few turns around it. This will act as an RF (Radio Frequency) choke, filtering out frequencies above the audio level (ie, the BT signal which is causing the interference).
Ferrite rings are typically used by radio hams to cut down signal breakthrough into audio or tv equipment. The size of the ring and the number of turns of the cable will determine how much filtering it applies.

  • Connecting audio speakers via external Bluetooth module

I have an USB bluetooth module (manufactured by Broadcom) to connect to a bluetooth-enabled stereo, but it won't work. I think it must be a software problem. Can anyone help with this?
The device is set up properly, and paired with the stereo.
But in System Preferences > Bluetooth > Devices, it says "Connected: No".
I've updated the Bluetooth software (from Apple).
I've rebooted with the device plugged into the USB port.
I've confirmed (in System Profiler) that the port is recognized.
And I've managed to play music on the same stereo using a different laptop with a built-in bluetooth device.
Can anyone help me resolve this? I'd be really grateful.

yea i have the same problem...no idea how to get the device to say connected: yes

  • Is Bluetooth module for Mac Pro/iMac compatible with FW800 MDD?

I've been looking at fitting an internal Apple Bluetooth module in my FW800 MDD G4, and I've noticed the later modules for Intel Macs appear to have the same form factor. The connection to the logic board looks identical, as do the mounting holes. The only physical difference seems to be where the BT antenna connects (below on the original G4 card, above on the later modules).
Has anyone tried fitting one with success?

if you got the guts, shove it in there. think the issue you will have is the original machines supported the 1.1 cards, the card you speak of is 2.0

  • Bluetooth module part number for pavilion dv7 4080us ?

I have a pavilion dv7 4080us.  Its a great machine but am surprised not to find bluetooth.  I see other machines have it and assume it is a part.  I have installed bluetooth modules in other laptops pretty easily - but I cannot find a part number for this machine to order etc.

    Hi:
Below is the service manual for your notebook.
    http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02476547/c02476547.pdf
You will need to order both the bluetooth module and the bluetooth cable. Part numbers for these are on page 21 of Chapter 3.
The installation procedure is in Chapter 4, page 82. Part numbers again listed on page 82.  Looks like you have to take a lot of stuff off including the display.

You can install a bluetooth module. You need to order both the bluetooth module and cable separately.  See Chapter 3, page 24 for the part numbers and descriptions.
R & R procedures can be found in chapter 4, on page 71

  • Bluetooth module no longer recognised in Mac Pro

My Mac Pro's been doing some strange things recently.
A couple of days ago I noticed things were running very slowly, just moving windows about they would jerk and jitter.
Tried hardware test, disk utility etc but no problems found. I then unplugged the machine and plugged it back in - problem solved.
Now today I started up the machine, go to login to my account and my keyboard and mouse don't work. They become initialised if I unplug and plug them back in, or if I wait about a minute they start working.
Along with this, my bluetooth module is no longer recognised under Mac OS X, although when I reboot my machine into Vista the module is recognised and functions correctly.
It also takes over minute to shut the machine down, which it has never done before. When turning it off the OS seems to quit quickly, but the screen remains black for a long time before the power is cut the the drive etc. (This is especially noticeable when restarting the machine as it takes more than twice what it has done in the past).
Is this all just coincidence that these things happened at the same time, or are they related?

Have you tried the standard debugging steps listed in the troubleshooting guides here and elsewhere?
You might try looking at http://www.thexlab.com and other websites like that for information about how to debug various problems.
If you are OK with opening your case, you can also reset the SMC controller on your motherboard, which can affect at least some of the subsystems you are having trouble with.
But first, you need to do more general diagnostics.
Run your MacOS hardware diagnostics by putting your OS boot CD in your optical drive, and hold the D key down when you boot.
You can also hold down C when booting and when the installer appears, go to the menu and run Disk Utility, and verify at least your primary drive.

  • While installing Lion my Bluetooth module disappeared. How can I reinstall it?

While installing Lion my Bluetooth module disappeared. How can I reinstall it?

You ought to get a dialog asking to install the first time you run an app that needs it
    Details here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1167855/installing_mountain_lion_what_you_need_t o_know.html
    The relevant bit is this:
Note that the first time you try to load a webpage or run an app that requires Java, Mountain Lion will prompt you to download and install the Java runtime, even if you upgraded from Snow Leopard or Lion and you’d previously installed Java. This is normal—you shouldn’t worry that installing Mountain Lion somehow “lost” any of your data or apps.
Or you can go to the Apple Downloads page and search for Java
