Bluetooth mouse gets slow laggy.

Hi there.
I have a couple Lenovos T60p's. They both have internal bluethoot. I have 2 different bluetooth mice. One is Microsoft model and the other is Logitechs. The problem I have is that if I use eather of the mice with the internal bluetooth the cursor slows down or lags. This happens with both mice and only with the internal bluetooth. If I use an USB bluetooth adapter both mice work fine. Does anyone has had this problem before. I have updated all drivers on both laptops and both do the same.

I guess the receiver in your laptop is somehow not picking up your signal very well. I will look into it for you, i will try my Microsoft bluetooth mouse and see the different settings.

  • IMac Pairs with iMac Using Bluetooth: Mouse Gets Whacked

Among the many problems I've noted after upgrading to Yosemite is that one of the two iMacs I have in close proximity to each other tries to connect via Bluetooth to the other one.  When this happens the mouse on the iMac that is trying (or is) connected to the other iMac starts getting whacked out.  If I click on the Bluetooth icon, it will show the other iMac, mouse, keyboard as connected bluetooth devices.  If I click on DISCONNECT for the connected iMac, the mouse starts acting normal until the machine decides to try to reconnect to the other iMac.  I've tried the following with no change in the problem:
Baremetal install of Yosemite on the iMac that keeps trying to connect to the other one
Making sure Bluetooth sharing is unchecked in the SHARING part of setup (both machines)
    Resetting PRAM/SMC
Wi-Fi is off on both machines BTW
Anyone have any ideas?  This is getting old.

"Allen's iMac" is the one with the problem.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash. If the problem is solved, recreate your settings in the Bluetooth preference pane, including all pairings. Otherwise, you can restore the file you deleted from the backup. Post your results.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Really slow and jerky cursor with my apple bluetooth mouse, can you help?

    hey.
i have the apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard, they were working perfectly (keyboard still does) until they ran out of batteries one day. i reverted to the wired set up and (lazily) didn't get batteries for a while (month or so). When i did the keyboard responds as before but the mouse is painfully jerky and slow. i have re-paired the mouse and changed the batteries twice, it is so annoying i now use the bluetotth keyboard and wired mouse. any advice/suggestions gratefully recieved.
    many thanks.
    james

it is so frustrating isn't it. i now sit looking at the bluetooth mouse whilst getting tangled up in the cable of the wired mouse!! i was going to buy the new wireless mighty mouse hoping that that would solve/bypass the problem but reading what you have all put is definately making me wary of that. it seems so simple doesn"t it, nice uncluttered desk, pretty foolproof technology. if only... seems that no matter how clever these things get they are still not smart enough. i have been looking elsewhere for solutions but no luck as of yet, if i find any i'll let you know.
    regards,
    james

  • Bluetooth mouse slows down wifi

I recently bought logitech bluetooth mouse V470 to use with my Thinkpad s440. The problem is whenever the mouse is connected, my wifi slows down dramatically, turning off the mouse recovers the internet speed. Can anyone suggest a fix for this issue

You could try changing the channel that your wi-fi uses for creating the LAN. You would need to do this in your router configuration.

  • Apple bluetooth mouse slow, possibly even sluggish?

Ok, my bluetooth apple mouse has started to annoy me, it seems to be quite slow (i usually use a MS wirless mouse, but decided to try out the apple one again) basically its just quite slow and very hard to move it just a small distance.
    To fix it I have:
    cleaned the optical sensor
    changed batteries
moved it to fastest tracking speed
    re-set it
    used it on different surfaces
    updated bluetooth firmware
basically everything I can think of but no joy, it still seems slow, is there anything I can do or is it likely to need to be replaced?
Also my microsoft one is on full speed, and its just about right although i would like it a bit faster, is there anything I can do?
also what does the small + and - switch do its the one under the battery cover
    Cheers for the help guys

I am experiencing the same issue. I have done a good bit of troubleshooting to narrow down the problem, and i wanted to share those results with this thread in hopes that we can come to a conclusion and hopefully fix it.
First off, this issue seems to be isolated to bluetooth wireless devices and wireless network traffic. I have a Logitech G7 bluetooth wireless mouse, and my Macbook is the 5.1 version
I have seen other threads that are trying to blame their mouse lag on their monitor, and have said that plugging the monitor's power to a different wall jack fixed their problem. This made no difference in my situation. Even having my External monitor completely out of the loop, i still experienced issues with bluetooth mouse + traffic over the wireless causing significant hitching and lagging of the mouse during the period of the traffic (i.e. copying 500mb file over network).
When i have my bluetooth mouse hooked up and i am copying a large file over the wireless, it lags horribly. If i take my hand and use the trackpad on the laptop itself *during the same copy*, it works fine... it is ONLY the bluetooth mouse.
If i hook an ethernet cable directly to the laptop, all issues with lag are gone when i use the network.
    So to recap:
ethernet cable + bluetooth mouse + network traffic = no mouse lag
wireless ethernet + trackpad + network traffic = no mouse lag
wireless ethernet + bluetooth mouse + network traffic = HORRIBLE MOUSE LAG
ON TOP OF THAT.... the issue is EXACTLY the same in Vista as it is in OSX

  • Slow BlueTooth Mouse

I have the wireless Keyboard and Mouse Intel IMac. I love the whole set up but when I pair up my BlueTooth headset to make Skype calls the mouse becomes slow. Is this normal behavior and are there and tweaks to the settings that I can make to clear this up?
    Thanks

As far as removing other devices I wouldn't recommend it. The lag that I am experiencing as a result of the headset occurs when the only other devices present are the mouse and the keyboard.
That being said I still wouldn't warn you away from using a BlueTooth mouse. I love my BlueTooth input devices and only use the headset a tiny fraction of the time that I am actually using the computer.

  • Slow / jumpy / erratic Bluetooth mouse

    Hi,
I recently bought a apple wireless keyboard and a logitech v470 bluetooth mouse, They are paired to my 2006 macbook pro fine with no connection drops etc. I'm running my mac through my 37" LCD tv using DVI to HDMI.
The Keyboard is working fine, however when using the mouse it is really erratic making it near impossible to use accurately. It responds very slowly, and has a tendency to lag and jump from one position to another. Its also worth mentioning that when i drag windows, files etc they also move erratically.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? Any help would be great!
    Cheers

I'm not so sure its a software problem. I had a Logitech MX5000 BT mouse and keyboard attached to a Windows system for 2 years. Some days the mouse would stutter to where it was unusable, followed by days of perfect behavior. Yesterday I transferred the keyboard and mouse to my MiniMac. It only took 30 seconds to set up and it worked just fine..... for about an hour. Then it started stuttering. This morning it was OK again.
I have spent an hour researching this through every blog I can find. The bad news is that I haven't found anyone who has an explanation. The good news is that everyone appears to be looking in the wrong place, because those masses of irate BT mouse users have all been looking in the same place.
Everyone has blamed either the hardware or the software. It is clearly neither since both are largely static for the purposes of this issue. Computers are not erratic by nature. Therefore if they appear to be erratic then there must be something going on that isn't self-evident.
I would encourage everyone who reads this thread to post their findings on concurrent usage of system resources. Whenever your BT mouse starts lagging, look at what else is going on in your environment. Keep your system monitor up and running so you're ready. I'll post my findings later this week. Good luck.

  • Kensington Bluetooth Mouse Problem With 10.4.3

After updating to 10.4.3, which updated bluetooth from 1.6 to 1.66, Kensington Mouseworks 2.8 no longer works with any of my Kensington bluetooth mice. A Kensington USB mouse works fine.
Neither Apple nor Kensington was able to resolve this. Any ideas how to fix this until Kensington updates their drivers ?

    Original message was to Kensington:
I can set up my device - discoverable - pairing and so on, but cannot get to the settings - fast, slow, scrolling, chording, etc. As a matter of fact when I select mouseworks under my system prefrences I get a window saying that there are no Kensington pointing devices found, but yet I'm using the device. The tracking speed of the cursor is uncontrollable at times. I am running OSX 10.4.3. Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I render this mouse to have a mind of it's own and not too useful to me.
    Their reply:
Thank you for contacting Kensington Technical Support.
As per the latest update from the concerned department, it has been observed that there are few compatibility issues between Mouseworks software and Bluetooth mouse on Mac OS X 10.4.3. Unfortunately, you are facing the same issue.
However, it has been proved that the issue is not with Kensington software and Apple is working towards releasing a patch for this.
Any solutions to date would be of great help.

    Details:
By default, 1 GB of RAM was installed as a single SO-DIMM module. One slot free. *Apple officially supports 4 GB of RAM, but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 6 GB of RAM using one 2 GB and one 4 GB SO-DIMM module. In the US (and many other countries), site sponsor Other World Computing sells memory -- as well as other upgrades -- for this iMac. In Australia, site sponsor RamCity sells memory and other upgrades for this iMac.

  • Tracking problem with Bluetooth mouse..

I recently changed batteries in my Bluetooth wireless mouse... I've done that many times in the past without incident... But this time something strange happened... I used to run the tracking speed setting at the second notch up from slow but now that is lightning fast. Even the next setting down, the first notch up from slow, is too fast... And the slowest setting is ironically too slow which means if I try to move the mouse across the screen at what I would consider a normal speed, the mouse jumps back left as I move right, meaning I am overwhelming the control system... The point is something changed and I can't imagine what... These new batteries are now down a notch from top power meaning they are not new anymore but still the lowest notch is too slow and the next one up is too fast... My real question is what could have changed?? I am running 10.4.6 and I don't believe I had changed anything other than the batteries from before to after the problem started... Any thoughts???? thanks... bob..

Today I received a letter from Apple, a very strange letter that had no heading or address and didn't say "Apple", all it had was the Apple logo. But from the postmark on the envelope I could see it was posted in Cork, Ireland.
The letter confirmed that they had received my proof of purchase and that they would arrange for me to be send a replacement.
The letter said they had tried to call me but could not get through. This is FALSE. Anyone who ever calls me can always get through (although at times, they may get my voicemail). Nobody from Apple left any messages on my voicemail.
The letter gave me a Case Number and said to call their "Technical Support Team".
When I called the number they gave 0870 8760753 I was offered a number of options, NONE OF WHICH covered my reason for calling, so I chose the seemingly nearest option to it.
I found myself talking to something with an Indian accent so thick and heavy that I could barely understand him, and I am used to Indian accents.
He seemed very tired or sleepy; certainly on taking my call he seemed to be settling himself in for some kind of long haul.
Very slowly and hesitantly he started asking me for all kinds of details about me. As I gave him each piece of information he asked me for, he kept interrupting during the process that that I had to repeat myself several times. I had to interrupt him to tell him I had a Case Number (he had not asked me for one).
He took my Case Number , and paused for a long time, then said "well....Mr. -, this is about a Bluetooth Mouse, yes?"
    Brilliant.
He seemed to think the pair of us were going to spend a long time negotiating about something.
He said he would need to go and speak to his supervisor. I waited on the line for 10 (repeat TEN) minutes.
He came back "Well, Mr. -....I need to check all your details".. including all my credit card details....very slowly and repeating everything twice.
Several exasperating minutes later I THINK I had convinced him that he had all my details and that he needed to have a new mouse sent to me.
He said that when the new mouse comes (THINKS...if it comes) via UPS, I must send the dead one back to them within 10 days or they will charge me for the new one. I said what happens if I don't (because this is the summer and I might be out of the country on holiday).
    "That is the procedure".
I replied "so you have all the information you need now and you are going to send me the mouse, yes?"
    "yes".
    ---long silence---
I said "IS that the end of the telephone conversation?"
    "yes."
    "OK thanks, goodbye"-
    MORAL OF THIS STORY:
If you buy an Apple wireless mouse and it dies on you, consider if you really badly need to have it replaced by Apple. HOw much time do you have to waste?

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes.) You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard."

  • MacBook Pro Bluetooth Mouse Issue - Possible Bug??

I recently purchased the new MacBook Pro and I have a weird issue with both the bluetooth Mighty Mouse and another Microsoft bluetooth mouse.
So first, I purchased the mighty mouse thinking it would work great with my new MacBook, however, after pairing it and turning up the scrolling to the highest setting it was still way to slow for movement across the screen requiring me to pick up the mouse and move it to get all the way across.
I had also installed Windows 7 on Parallels and was able to install my Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000 on that with a dongle and it moved super fast just like I liked it. I had to use the dongle because for some reason Parallels didn't show the internal bluetooth. So I thought I would try using my Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000 on the Mac side so I downloaded the Intellipoint 6.3 software that is made for mac and installed it on the machine then paired up my MS mouse. I then went in and set the settings to their highest settings for scrolling and once again I had the same issue as with the Mighty Mouse. Way too slow.
So then I took it to one of the Geek Squad guys at Best Buy in my area to see if he could figure it out and he was stumped as well. However, after playing with it a bit we discovered that if you went into the native keyboard/mouse settings in the system preferences folder and dragged the scrolling setting to it's lowest setting and then back to the highest setting the Microsoft Mouse would move super fast like it is supposed to. I got all excited, however, the problem is that as soon as you closed that dialog box it goes back to slow again. Weirdest thing ever.
So I have no idea what would cause that and would love some feedback from you all. I think it is a bug because in my opinion the Might Mouse should work better than anything else. Any thoughts anyone?

This problem can be caused because of the mouse pad. Try using a dark color one with no reflective glare. Sometimes the light bounces.

  • Imprecise, Jumpy, Erratic Bluetooth Mouse with Video

I have been suffering with an erratic Bluetooth mouse problem for almost a year now on my 3.06ghz Imac. Recently, I have noticed others mentioning the same issue with the new Magic Mouse. (See Imac Forum). Therefore, in an attempt to raise the status of this issue I am posting a video in order that Apple Care and other Mac users can see the issue in action.
The jumpiness gets worse when downloading a large file or when copying or moving a large file. I have posted more details in Upper right corner of Youtube page.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBzisliiVpg

A quick update to the jumpy mouse saga:
After a year of problems with a jumpy mouse (see videos below) *I purchased a Magic Mouse to see if the Magic Mouse would solve the jumpiness issue. It did but the tracking speed was very slow. Therefore, I installed MouseZoom to increase the tracking speed. After installing MouseZoom I started noticing the jumpy mouse problems again.*
    _*This finding is very interesting!*_
_*It implies that the faster the mouse movement the more likely one is to see an erratic mouse with the pointer making unrequested jumps around the screen.*_
My hypothesis is that the operating system or processor is not allocating enough resources to the mouse if the tracking speed is set to a high level.
_*The "jumpy mouse" problem seems to be far worse when the hard disk is running - either copying or downloading a large file*_. Some users are reporting that watching a high resolution flash video will also cause the mouse to skip and jump.
I am certain the problem is software related because the same exact mouse works perfectly in Bootcamp 2.1 and Bootcamp 3.0 in Windows XP SP3.
_*Youtube now has two videos showing the problem*._ You can view the videos here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxLY3-pH-rs
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBzisliiVpg
If you are suffering from similar problems may I suggest three actions:
    * Use the Quicktime X screen recording function to record a video of the problem.
    * Post the video to YouTube.
    * Contact Apple Care and share your video problem description with them.
    * Send a note referencing the video and description to www.apple.com/feedback
    Category: Mac OSX Feedback
    Feedback Type: Bug Report
    Feedback Area: Peripheral/Device Support
I will update this video to let you know if the problem has been solved. I am hopeful that Apple will be able to find the source of the problem and solve it quickly. I really like my Mac and I can hardly wait for the problem to be resolved.
Here is hoping that 10.63 will resolve this issue once and for all!

  • HP Bluetooth mouse

I have an HP X9000B Bluetooth mouse and it just stoppes working every so often, then I need to re boot my laptop and it works again. It has always had a slow response but now it has stopped all together. I was looking for drivers on the HP website but it doesn't even recognise the hardware let alone drivers!
Does anyone know what the problem can be? I have a core i7 notebook with Windows 7 64bit OS.

My Toshiba Satellite L655-S5198does not have a bluetooth card, so I purchased a Targus Bluetooth 4.0 Dual-Mode Micro USB Adapter on 4-10-15.
After installing both and receiving confirmation that both were installed and working, I get no response when I try to use the mouse.
When I press the blue button on the underside of the mouse, the blue indicator light blinks, but eventually stops.
What should I do at this point?
    Thank you for your help.
Did you install the Targus bluetooth driver software? You can't just plug a bluetooth adapter in and expect it to work without the proper software/driver for it.

  • URGEND: After cloned backup neither usb nor bluetooth mouse recognized

    ahhhhhh, help needed....
after bootcamp kills my complete system disc during installing xp i've cloned my backup copy onto my ereased system disc. every things fine (besides some errors) but now my macpro don't recognize neither the usb nor the bluetooth mouse.
the keyboard works fine and i've tried every usb slot and a powered hub without no luck.
the bt mouse getting recognized by the bt assistant, connect and ready, BUT it's not working. the "tray" symbol shows it's connected.....
i've tried the following: pr reset, board reset, permission repaired, new directory by diskwarrior = nothing
behind the error window of chronosync is another one from parallels which says that the "connectusb.kext" extension wasn't correctly installed.
i've tried to copy the extensions from my macbook parallels but the error still occurs.
i'm not sure but i think there can't be any connection between the parallels extension error and my overall mouse dis function, or can it be???
plz help, cause i've got no possibility to archive and install the system cause i'm on an non authorized tiger 10.4.11 system on an early macpro
    thx sooooooo much/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png
cheers and sorry for double posting

Just watching various posts on forums to see what I should do next. I updated to 10.6 from DVD, then went to 10.6.5, and my keyboard and mouse would stop working, and then start working again when I unplugged and replugged the keyboard (I have the mouse plugged into the keyboard). I don't want to spend all day unplugging and plugging my keyboard. I just went back to core 10.6 from the DVD, all my main software seems to work, so unless I have problems, I'm just sticking with core 10.6 until things get resolved.
I might try updating to 10.6.2, or 10.6.4, but not until I'm forced into it (when something is really not working on unstable). I do mostly music and video work. The only reason I updated was because something new I want to run (Wavelab 7) only works with 10.6. I usually never update my OS unless I'm forced into it, I'm way not an OS early adopter, I have work to do! I was truly expecting 10.6.5 to be OK, they've had plenty of time to get the kinks worked out. I wasn't expecting Apple to introduce new ones. Sounds like I'm not bothering with 10.6.6 now. 10.6.7 anyone? Do I hear .8?
    Way to go Apple.
