Bluetooth mouse has lost some functionality

Suddenly my scroll button will only scroll UP the page, not down. There is no specific preference for direction, so it's set for vertical and horizontal. Anybody got any suggestions as to how to get it to work correctly - which it's done up until today. Thanks

i have the same problem occasionally with my BT MM, what ive found to work is to seal your lips around the scroll button and give it a sharp blow, avoid spitting into it obviously, but a couple of short strong bursts should do the job. that and just turning the mouse off and on usually restores it to normal functionality
this is truly the most annoying aspect of the MM, it drives me nuts when it happens but it does go away

Touchpad has lost some functionality

My touchpad has lost some functionality....I can still do the click function but swiping no longer moves the cursor. ( I have had to add a mouse to the laptop to get my cursor to move. )
This only starts after I have logged into the computer. The touchpad has full functionality while I am at the login screen, it only starts failing once Windows comes up. Which leads me to believe it is a setting in Windows.
I tried disable and re-enable the touchpad in the mouse settings functions; removing the touchpad from the device manager and rebooting the computer; verified that all of my touchpad settings were the same, none had changed.
Windows says I have the latest drivers for the device. But just to be sure, I entered my laptop model number on the Toshiba Driver Downloads area, and downloaded the Synaptic drivers. When I tried to install these drivers the installation failed. (I have not yet tried to remove the drivers that came with the laptop but may try that next if I can't find anything else that fixes this.)
Can someone please offer suggestions on what else to try?

I had the same issue just now and after reading that you just plugged in a mouse and used that, I did the same but got ticked off that for a few seconds it didn't work in the Windows screen area either (it started working after a few seconds but I was impatient and got angry and started pressing all the buttons on the keyboard) anyway I ended up pressing the F5 button.
I have a L850 and the F5 button also has a picture of what I realise now is the touchpad.
I think I accidently kicked it when I was doing some yoga (ha which I have never done before) and it obviously turned it off.
Anyway so this has worked for me and *now much touchpad is working again* in Windows area, hence how I got on to this website and created an account just to tell you how I fixed my computer. :)

My Magic Mouse has lost the Magic

My new iMac ( late 2009 edition ) purchased less then three weeks ago came with a BlueTooth Mouse and it worked "right out of the box".
Now it barely works missing several functions it previously had.
When I first started iwent into SystemPreferences/Mouse there was a live demonstration/video.
The video is now gone and when I go to second page of Mouse preference the paddle wheel spins searching for that mouse.
I've installed two different sets of new batteries, switched the mouse off and restarted the mac, switched the mouse on and restarted. Trashed the preference for the mouse in my Users folder.
I can drive the mouse pointer all over the desktop but when I am in window on some or another web site i can't scroll up or down without using those side bars.
I need help please to bring my BlueTooth mouse back to full functionality and to see that video again.

As a test, you can also try creating a new admin user account in System Preferences Accounts pane.

Log out and log in to the new account. This will help isolate the cause better. In the new account, if the mouse works normally, then the cause is likely to be in your normal user account. If same problem recurs in the new account, then the cause is likely to be at the system (OS) level, or perhaps related to a hardware problem.

Bluetooth mouse has stopped scolling and swiping

I have a imac purchased in Oct 2010 on which the operating system has been updated to Lion.
My Bluetooth mouse has just stopped scrolling and swiping but still moves the curser on the screen and it still drags pages up and down. Battery is currently 51%.
Help to understand the problem and hopefully correct it will be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure this is a BT mouse?
The user manual says that a wireless mouse and keyboard are connected to the all-in-one computer! I recommend checking the user manual.
Usually the wireless keyboard and mouse can be detected by computer automatically.
But in case this does not work, you may need to pair the WLan keyboard and mouse.
1) turn on the computer
2) press and hold middle button on the mouse
3) slice the power which on the back of the mouse to the ON position
4) the battery indicator will start blinking to indicate that the mouse is ready to be paired
5) keep the mouse close to the right bottom of the computer within 10cm where the WLan receiver placed
6) the battery indicator will glow for about 5 sec if the pairing is successful
the connection will be established then

Lost some functionality on laptop.

I use Macs and have loaded PS Elements on my desktop and on my laptop. However, I have lost some functionality on my laptop software (principally that I can't use the cloning function). I have re-loaded the disk (bought through Amazon) but this doesn't fix the problem. Do I need to uninstall? If so, how do I do that without losing my limited installation options (2 computers only)?

If I go to image/mode, the '8Bits/Channel' option is grey and can't be changed (there isn't a tick either). On the bottom bar of Elements, I can only see a series of options to do with visuals. Like this

An iPhone cannot "dump" or "lose" those features.
They can be turned off in Settings > General > Restrictions or blocked by an Exchange Admin when an Exchange profile is loaded.

Not that it helps, but this is why I wish they would just go back to customer activations at home instead of activating iPhones in store. They do it there, then 3 or 4 or 5 months later, the user gets around to plugging it in to iTunes for the first time only to have all their contacts as well as apps and music they've purchased wiped out without ever having backed it up...
You can try to restore the phone. It 'should' have been backed up before the initial sync, but I'm not positive about that. I'm not in front of a machine with iTunes now and don't want to steer you wrong. There should be a number of helpful threads here. Use the search box at the top of the page, you should be able to find step by step instructions if it's still possible.

Itunes has lost some of my music

just downloaded new version of iTunes (BIG MISTAKE)... it has lost over 500 of my 10K songs - the song files are in the itunes media folder like all the others, but just random albums or random songs are missing. I thought I would just try to add the albums again and then use the display duplicates feature to remove the bad files... WRONG! There is no display duplicates feature. There is also no option now for adding a whole folder - I ahve to open each album and select the individual songs. I am not happy at all with this "upgraded" iTunes. Anyone have any ideas on either why this has happened or what I can do about it?

Exported catalogue has lost some collections - bug?

After recently exporting a catalogue (of all photos in that catalogue) and then importing the catologue into a fresh lightroom catalogue it has lost several (about a quarter) of the collections. This is a bit of a bugger as a fair bit of work went into creating them. Anyone got any clues as to how to prevent this?

Not so with web gallery collections or print collections. Export a catalog, then open it and they are missing.

Makes syncing catalogs between computers difficult. I guess you can change the web gallery and print collections to regular collections, but why have them if they do not work as expected.

Mighty mouse has lost functions!!

Hi everyone, i havent been able to find warranty info on the corded mighty mouse that came with my machine... How long is the mouse and keyboard warranty? Well the main problem.. is that the side buttons.. (default to Expose) and the 3rd click when you just click the mouse by pushing the scroll ball makes the dashboard work.. well those two functions quit working, i reset pram.. mouse isnt dirty.. scroll wheel works fine and left and right click work. but no side buttons or button on mouse, i did find one strange thing. if im in safari... and i click down on the mouse ball.. like i want to make dashboard come up.. and start to move the mouse around the entire page moves. (kinda like a PC) any ideas??? Any help would be appreciated.. I am running leopard.. 10.5.1 I am under my year of warranty... can i just take the mouse in to my apple store and swap it out??

ok, i went into the apple store and they did replace my mouse with the newer non grey buttons on the side.. they are now white.. But it still didnt fix it.. Leopard was messed up, i did a fresh install of leopard and everything works fine.. I still wonder though... what got corrupted??
