Bluetooth mouse needs paring every time!!

I have just started using the mighty wireless mouse. Very cool! However, after turning it off (to save battery) I have to re-pair it again before use. What a pain! Is this normal?
Any way of keeping Bluetooth pairing on hold til the device re-appears?
(I also tried leaving it on but if the computer has been hibernated to disk (deep sleep widget) then the butons don't work when it wakes up.)
Thanks, Louis

make sure "allow bluetooth device to wake this computer" is enabled in the bluetooth mouse menu on system profiler. usually after sleep or turning the mouse off you just have to click the mouse (to give it an active signal) and wait a couple of seconds (some times its taken up to 30) for it to pair automatically

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • How do I avoid having to pair my bluetooth with iPhone 4 every time I use it?

How do I avoid having to pair my bluetooth with iPhone 4 every time I use it?

I think I didn't make myself clear. My bluetooth device is paired. If I turn the device OFF while keeping it ON in the iPhone 4, and later on come back and put the device ON, the iPhone doesn't find it. The solution is to turn it OFF in both the bluetooth device and the iPhone and start again, which was not the case with my previous iPhone 3 and is a real pain to have to do this each time... Any one familiar with this? Thanks in advance.

  • Satellite A500 - mouse pad freezes every time I go onto the internet

    Hi all,
I have a Toshiba Satellite A500 and every time I go onto the internet my mouse pad freezes. The only option I have is to restart the computer again. This is becoming very frustrating as I do not know what to do?
If someone can help this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
    Cheers
    Karen.

    Hello Karen
To be honest I have never heard about something like this and believe you are the first one with this strange issue.
I would like to know since when you have noticed this? I cannot imagine this issue persists from the first day.
Do you have original preinstalled operating system?
I can imagine the first step can be BIOS update. Is latest BIOS installed on your Satellite Notebook?

  • Links need updating every time InDesign

I save all my files on an Apple TimeCapsule, using its disk as a server shared between two iMac. Since recently updating Indesign CC 2014 every time I open an InDesign file it claims that all linked files in the document are modified and need updating. It also means that if I place an inDesign document into another file the file needs to be repeatidly opened and saved in order to print / export to pdf.
    Is this a known issue?

Do I need to do a total reset on my 3gs so that it won't keep updating every time it gets near my 4gs?
It has nothing to do with "getting near: the other iPhone.
They are using the same AppleID for iCloud.
On the 3GS, Setttings > icCloud, delete the iCloud account and turn it on using the new AppleID.
Whatever I have changed on my 4S...notes, apps..etc.
Settings > iTunes & App stores.
Tap your ApleID, sign out then sign in with new AppleID.

  • I need help every time my iTunes library updates i get this error messege: The iTunes.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder. but the file should be there.

Every time I have to upgrade iTunes it gives me this messege:'The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder.' the file should be there but I don't understand why it does this every time Apple upgrades the Itunes library. Its on the computer somewhere but it only affects this login on my computer (meaning on this Windows Account). Why does my iTunes do this? Then I have to spend hours placing all my libraries back together and all my music back into the library. Which usually takes me a few days to sort all out. What is wrong with my iTunes? The iTunes folder is a folder in my Music folder where I store the iTunes music/files/libraries at on my computer so I can have all of the iTunes files in one place on my computer.

I have a Windows 7 operating system my computer runs from.

  • E1000 Dies After Streaming from Mac to Apple TV - Needs Reboot Every Time

    Hey everyone:
I got an Apple TV a few weeks back and we've been using it a lot, especially to stream Netflix.  However, another application that I got it for was for streaming iPhoto slideshows and iMovie stuff to the Apple TV with Airplay's screen sharing.  This event scenario has played out several times.....  Screen sharing is up and going and it'll be working great.  All of a sudden the TV will go back to the main Apple TV menu on its own.  Upon further review at this point, NONE of my WiFi (iPhone, iPad, etc.) devices will connect to the network and I have to power cycle the router.  Router lights are on, but no one's home.  At this point, it'll boot back up and then everything will be fine, at least for a while.
Tonight, I was showing vacation pictures to some family and this same process happened twice.  Since I can't seem to figure out how to stop playing a slideshow in iPhoto and then start it again in the middle, it's very annoying.  Here are some relevant troubleshooting points to consider:
    1.  This network problem (or something similar to it) has happened in the past, but whatever it is, streaming a slideshow really seems to aggravate it.  This seems to be the only scenario that I can do to actually INDUCE the issue.  Periods of long uploads or downloads are fine.  Streaming audio from one device and similar usage seems to be fine, but this scenario fails pretty much every time, and not necessarily right away.
    2.  After having this issue tonight multiple times, I stopped trying to stream an actual iPhoto slideshow and just went into the album and scrolled through the pics one by one.  I did this for at least an hour with no issue.  But with an actual slideshow, it failed twice in 30 minutes or less.  And it's happened before tonight as well.
    3.  It doesn't appear to make a difference what application I'm streaming from on the Mac.  Whether it's iPhoto, iMovie, or even Facetime.
    MacBook Pro Specs - OS X 10.8.2 - Late 2011 Model
    Apple TV - MD199LL/A, v5.0.2
    Router - Linksys/Cisci E1000 - Firmware v2.1.02
Anyone else have similar experiences or advice?  I've got a fair amount of devices in my home that use WiFi, but there was nothing irregular going on in the house to generate an excessive amount of internal network traffic or anything like that.  My gut says the problem is with the router, but it's only a few months old, and I've updated the firmware to no avail.
Thanks a bunch for any advice you may have!

OK, so I've done a couple things here and both point to the above post about having two devices doing AirPlay at once.
First things first....  I ran the Inssider tool and looked over my network.  My signal seems to always be between 50 and 60.  My router is on Ch 6 which seems to be the best choice.  There's one other network on that channel, but it's a very low signal strength.  The other ends of the spectrum are pretty well covered by other networks.
Does this shed any light on this problem?
Second - I hard wired my MacBook to the router, then screen shared to the Apple TV.  It was up for at least 15 minutes.  At some point, I looked over and it was no longer sharing, but the network *WASN'T* trashed like it normally gets.  So it possibly got dropped for some other reason.
Third - I forgot that I have an Apple Airport Express that I normally use to stream music to a radio in my garage.  However, this device can be used as a router.  So I set it up this way and created a 2nd network.  I only put the Macbook and the Apple TV on it.  I've been streaming continuously for about 35 minutes now with no issues.
So it would seem that there's a firmware issue with this router that won't allow one device to Airplay to another device.  Does anyone else have any other conclusions or suggestions?  Otherwise, looks like I'll be treating myself to some new hardware after Christmas.
Thanks very much for your help!

  • MS Intelli Explorer Bluetooth Mouse needs to be setup everytime

I bought MS intelli explorer bluetooth mouse. This is my first bluetooth mouse. Everytime I start up my imac, I have to setup/locate the mouse. This is very annoying as I have to plug in another mouse to navigate to discover the bluetooth mouse. Isnt the OS supposed to detec the hardware while booting up or something like that?
Is there a way to overcome this? I have even setup my ms mouse as "favorite" in the bluetooth preference. I move the mouse around few seconds before the OS starts hoping it wake the mouse from sleep or activate the bluetooth signal.
    Any suggestion? Thanks in advace

Make sure you have the latest Apple Bluetooth Firmware and latest Mac OS X updates installed. This was a common problem earlier – would wonder me if it reappears in Mac OS X v10.4.4.

  • IPhone 4 compass needs calibrating every time I use it?

Every single time I try to use the compass working the map app it needs to be re-calibrated. Most of the time I am not near any potential interference. I noticed this issue right away and it continues weeks later. Does anyone know how to stop this? Thanks.

    Hi
I've noticed issues with the compass on the iphone 4 too. was using it whilst walking at the weekend and noticed it wasn't right, used a proper compass instead.
I've just been messing with it now and noticed that if you slowly turn the phone so that the triangle at the top and the red "N" on the compass dial line up it will actually point north.
As soon as you rotate the phone away from north it "snaps" about and will go between 20 and 90 degrees wrong. the more the phone is rotated the more the north direction is wrong.

  • External Hard drive needs 'initialising' every time it's connected

    Hi,
I have a PowerBook G4 1,67ghz Model, running Tiger 10.4.11. I, last week, purchased a LaCie Little Disk 500gb (USB 2) to clean the machine up and backup my files.
After having no luck getting it to work and reading the many posts about the lack of power to the USB ports on my model, I today purchased a powered Sitecom USB hub. For the first time I saw the disk immediately and was told it couldn't be read and needed initializing. I did this and made a single partition, formatted it to Mac Os Extended and the disk partitioned fine, mounting the new partition on my desktop. I copied files over, read then from the disk, copied them back to my desktop, no file corruption or problems. I was happy. I'd sorted out the power issue without resetting the PMU and it worked fine....
    Until...
I dismounted the disk, then tried to plug it back in. My Mac told me again, 'The disk inserted can't be read' and offered to let me initialize it. I tried a restart, a shutdown, each time, same thing. The disk doesn't seem to be able to retain the formatting I gave it, it just shows up in the profiler, and disk utility, as an non-formatted disk. I've re-partitioned it a few times now, same result each time I disconnect.
I wasn't daft enough to delete the files form my machine just yet though. Good that. Just want the thing to work.
If anyone has any idea what else I can do, I'd much appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance!
    Dan

    Hi,
I have also used the added power>usb cable that came with the drive, straight in to the hub. I would think it's got plenty of power by now. It's the constant returning to 'Partition Scheme : Unformatted', even though, before being ejected, it was HFS+ Mac formatted and had 1 partition showing which is now the concerning issue.
I originally partitioned, without problem, on a colleagues Mac Mini yesterday, running the same OS as I use. I didn't try plugging it back in to see if it retained formatting but shall do. I shall also try it on several other machines tomorrow, to see what happens. It's brand new but could be faulty, of course. Important to rule that out.
    Thanks again for your advice.

  • E-mail account password needed input every time mail opened

Whenever I go to open e-mail I am asked to enter the the password for my Apple ID. I have tried to store the passwrd under e-mail preferences for my .me account but although I press save to update the account the ID is not retained in the keychain. Any advice welcome.

I would recommend to sign out/delete your accounts from your Mac (in Mail > Settings and System Preferences > iCloud and Internet Accounts) and then to completely set it up again in System Preferences > Internet Accounts. In most cases a fresh set up fixes such problems.
