Bluetooth Mught Mouse keeps on disconnecting - why?

For some reason my wireless Mighty Mouse keeps on disconnecting from my 24" Imac. the keyboard doesn't. I have to manually re-connect each time and I was wondering if anyone knew a fix for this.
Thank you!

Is it a USB mouse?
1.Press W + R keys to open Run menu and in the blank space type in
devmgmt.msc and press the Enter key to launch Device Manager.
2.In the Device Manager window, find the item or items labeled "Universal Serial Bus controllers." Open it, and double-click the first item called "USB Root Hub."
3.In the USB Root Hub Properties dialog, click on the "Power Management" tab.
4."Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is checked by default. Uncheck this box, and click "OK."

  • Bluetooth Mighty Mouse keeps freezing after upgrading to Leopard

My bluetooth mighty mouse has frequent, intermittent freezes (which appear to be a loss of sync to the iMac) after upgrading to Leopard (now 10.5.1) from 10.4.11 on my iMac 24" alum body. This mouse was rock solid on my iMac running Tiger. Luckily I do have a corded mouse which I've been forced to use the past week or so.
    Can anyone suggest anything?
    Thanks.

I was just trying to help my Dad with the same exact issue (Mighty Mouse stops working on waking from sleep & trying to open bluetooth prefs at that point causes the system to lock up. Have to hold down power button to reboot)
Oddly I have Leopard on my iMac 2.16 Core 2 Duo and have no issues with my Mighty Mouse.
Hopefully someone comes up with an answer .... My Dad is 80 and just bought a new Powerbook and Mighty Mouse. It's hard to explain why the mouse doesn't work.

  • My wireless mouse keeps being disconnected.

Whilst i am using the computer  , my mouse will suddenly stop working and a window will appear to tell me my mouse connection as been lost. I then have to give it a few minutes then it connects again. It seems to be getting more and more frequent as the days go on. It has been playing up for about a week now. I am not sure  what to do. Please help. The computer is a MAC PRO bought in 2010.

Do a google search for "magic mouse looses connection", and terms like that.  There are many repeated discussions on this topic.

  • Lenovo Bluetooth Laser Mouse Disconnects Regularily

I have a problem with my ThinkPad Bluetooth Laser Mouse.  It disconnects when it wants too.  This is very annoying.  Anyone having the same problem and a solution?
    W510, Windows 7 Professional, Intel i7, 1.73GHz, 4GB RAM.

    Hello:
My experience over the past 4 years (with numerous different computers, OS, etc.) is that Bluetooth mice have a habit of being cranky from time to time.  I don't think this is a result of a problem with any specific model of computer, model of mouse, or operating system, I think it's just the nature of using Bluetooth to connect mice.
Long ago, I spent several days trying to troubleshoot the problem, but was never able to nail it down.  This past week, I bought a new W520 and discovered that the BT mouse was once again occasionally intermittent.  So... I went to the local office supply store, bought a conventional wired mouse for $20, and that solve the problem 100%.
I think that some small headaches are just not worth chasing after, especially when a 'low tech' $20 fix will solve the problem instantly and permanantly.  There's more discussion of the same topic here, in the W Series forum: Mouse Dropping Connection...

  • HT2845 why does my wireless mouse keep losing connection?

    Good morning,
My wireless mouse keeps losing connection...my batteries are at 100% and the "discoverable" option is checked off.  Why is this happening?

    Hi:
PRAM=parameter random access memory - reset like this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11243
SMC=system management controller reset like this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Sometimes resetting these "fixes" odd problems - and it cannot hurt.
To make a device a favorite, go to system preferences>bluetooth.  Highlight the device.  If detailed information is not shown, click oin the little gear>show more info.  Then click on the gear again and make the device a favorite.

  • Wireless mouse keeps disconnecting

My Apple wireless mouse keeps disconnecting about every third time when I put the computer to sleep and wake it up later.  I have to reboot to re-establish the bluetooth connection.  What can I do to fix this?

There has been a lot of discussion about this.  This thread has many suggestions.  https://discussions.apple.com/message/13074761?messageID=13074761#13074761
I have had this problem on an off (no pun intended) for a very long time.  Had my mouse replaced once at the Apple Store.  Contacted Apple Care about it also when it first occured.   Sometimes changing the batteries helps.  If I am using rechargeables, Energizers seem to fit best.  In one of the threads, someone showed a photo of how the battery contacts are actually different on different brands and suggested that is one reason this occurs.  I find that resetting the SMC is what eventually I have to do and that is what Apple Care suggested also.  I haven't found a permanent fix yet and I don't really expect to, but doing this does give me much longer periods of time without a recurrence.

It is annoying.  I keep my old wired mouse close by so I can get to it quickly.

  • Why does my mouse keep losing connection every minute

why does my mouse keep losing connection every minute, its not the batteries

I'm having the same issue.  Every so often it loses connection then re establishes. This goes on repeatedly.
If you change batteries while the computer is still active then it takes for ever to re connect.
Can't wait until someone replies to your question.

why do I keep getting disconnected from Ichat?

Try logging on to AIM on port 443 rather than port 5190.
Go to IChat in the menu bar > Preferences > Accounts.
Log out of AIM and then use the Server Settings tab
Set the port to 443(press return/enter(you might have to tick and untick SSL for 443 to stick)).
    Log back in again.

  • Why do calls on my iPhone 5 keep getting disconnected at random intervals?

My iPhone 5 is in a cover. Most of the time when I answer a call, it gets disconnected. Once, a person had to call me back 11 times! Is there something wrong with my iPhone? Why do calls (both outgoing and incoming) keep getting disconnected at random intervals?

Hi, could be an error, if you back up your data and perform a reset to factory standard could sort it. But before doing this, explore the settings for sounds and vibration patterns see if there are different settings selected by mistake. hope this helps

  • USB Mouse Keeps Disconnecting on 13" 2011 MacBook Pro

    Hello!
My Logitech M100 USB mouse keeps freezing up and/or completely turning off - constantly! About every 5 minutes, the mouse just shuts off (the laser at the bottom even turns off) and it becomes no longer operational. To fix it, I have to unplug it and plug it back in. This solution is good for another 5 minutes.
Every time my mouse disconnected, I noticed this pop up in the console:
1/15/12 8:27:32.000 PM kernel: USB Optical Mouse::terminate(kIOServiceSynchronous) timeout
And, if this is relevant at all:
         1/15/12 8:29:10.000 PM kernel: 0        0 AppleUSBCDC: start - initDevice failed
I am running Mac OS X Lion.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a ton in advance!

Does the mouse work on other computers?

  • Why does my iphone keep getting disconnected from Wifi?

My laptop has no issue staying connected to my wifi, but my iphone 4 keeps getting disconnected. I connect to wifi then a few seconds later, it disconnects for some reason. My lapop doesn't seem to have this problem, but my iphone has been having this issue for some time now. I cannot load anything on my iphone because of this. I'm unable to go online for more than 3 seconds at a time, literally. HELP! I've resetted my network settings, forgot my network, and renewed lease on my settings, but I still haven't found a fix.

You are in a bad service area. Maybe you should think about switching carriers. Having bad service is not an iphone problem.
