Bluetooth + Music Sync Issue

My First issue is with Bluetooth.
When I am calling a contact from my address book their last name is appearing twice. For example John Smith would appear in my cars infotainment as John Smith Smith. Meanwhile, in the contacts I only have John Smith as the name.
Next problem is Syncing music from Link to my Z30.
First issue, is randomly songs fail to sync unable to figure out the reason for this, the annoying part is after I find out they failed I can't even retry, i basically need to re-select every song. Worst part is, sometimes it gets stuck in a loop where I need to unplug phone, and restart link.
Other times, it is syncing, in Itunes and in Link the artist/track information is available. I sync it to my phone and low and behold it shows up as unknown. Again extremely frustrating.
Please figure this out!!!

It's possible that the audio files that were supported on your PC are simply not supported on your Mac or iPhone.  For example, I found the following listed as the supported formats for iPhone 5:
"Audio formats supported: AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), HE-AAC, MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, 4, Audible Enhanced Audio, AAX, and AAX+), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV
User-configurable maximum volume limit"
If you have music of other formats or codecs then you will need to convert them to a supported format first.
I hope this helps get you started.

  • Iphone 5s music sync issues

    Guys and girls.
I have got my 5s and have manage to get round to adding my music from my old phone (android) into Itunes music all plays fine but will not sync to my phone.
I go about the sync the normal way, it does start to work but gets to the 'checking for downloads' bit in the blue bar at the top and the whole of Itunes stops responding at all. I use the latest update on itunes and the latest software update on my phone which is now updating to 7.1 as we speak. Still no joy with the music sync. I have tried a few things i have seen on other threds i.e. reset phone using hold lock and home button together, un syncing and re syncing, unticking and reticking boxes and i am slowly going mad!haha. Can anyone offer a solution???
    Thanks in advance

Similar issue Andrew.  After installing 8.0, the IOS deleted 225 songs from one of my playlists, and I'm still "recalling"  songs that are no longer in my Music Library.  Fortunately, although the playlist of 235 had only 6 songs left on it ( on my  Mac), the Playlist was not erased from my I -Phone.  I was able to recreate the Playlist on my Mac, using the intact playlist on my phone.  When I synched however, I was back to square one.  I went to the Apple store, and I had to reset the phone .  We also downloaded IOS 8.02.  They saved my playlist in the Cloud, deleted it from my Mac, then synched it.  Lo and behold, the playlist I recreated on my Mac, synched to my I Phone.  After the reset, I had like 11GB of free space.  (Its been 5 days since the "reset" and the number of GBs fluctuates from day to day !!)
When I got home from the Apple store I spent after  hours reinstalling all the apps, synchng the phone to the Bluetooth in my car ( you know the rest of the saga) , I purchased a song from I Tunes.  I "drag and dropped" it into a Playlist, and synched.  Didn't work.  Song shows in "Recently Added", but the drag and drop feature doesn't work.  Bottom line,  I'm not willing to "reset" my phone every time I add a song !  I've tried any number of fixes posted to this support community, but none have worked for me.
Furthermore,  it took me 3 hours to get the phone re-synched to the Bluetooth system  in my car.  However every time I connect to "Bluetooth Audio", the system needs to "find" and "reconnect to" my phone.    If you ( or anyone else ) finds  something that might work for both the music synch and /or the Bluetooth, I'd appreciate your input.
    Thanks, Lorenzo

  • Lumia 820 Music Sync issue.

I installed 16GB micro SDHC card into my Lumia 820 and set as default for music and pictures. I try to sync music between my mac and phone. But the end of the sync, error message comes up which says all the music can't be copied. When I check the storage section on my phone. Music and video shows 0 and  seems like all the music is in "Other" section. Couldn't see anything under "Music". Tried Google and can't find any solution. Please anybody can help me. Thanks a lot.

I have also experienced the same issue and wasted about 4 hours of my life yesterday attempting to deal with it.
Music syncing to SD is horribly broken on the 820, on both 1232.2109.1242.1001 (original) and 1232.5951.1249.1003 (portico) firmwares.
I have ended up in a state where I have had to factory reset to fix the mess on 2 occasions now, on both original and portico firmware. This issue is definitely not fixed in portico.
For some obscure reason, particularly when using the desktop sync app, if it fails and tries again the music app gets very confused and displays an array of duplicates. If you perform an SD card format whilst in this state, the music app still 'thinks' that some of the music is still there and displays it as such. The only way to fix this erroneous display is to factory reset, which is far from ideal.
A workaround to the duplicate issue is to *not* use the desktop Windows Phone app, which seems to be horribly broken.
The Metro app often says that it 'Cannot copy the file to your phone' but it actually has without any issues, go figure.
I also noticed that some SD cards simply don't work properly in the 820.
I firstly tried a brand new Samsung 32GB which intermittently stopped working when syncing, dragging and dropping, and downloading on the phone causing the store to refuse to open necessitating a reboot.
I'm currently using a Transcend 8GB which does not exhibit that problem.
I tested the Samsung on my PC and it works fine, but I returned it to Amazon as faulty and exchanged it with a Sandisk 32GB, so I'll see what happens with that when it arrives I guess.
I don't know if this is a Nokia issue or a Microsoft issue. But someone needs to step up and fix this, because a 'switcher' from another platform will return the device immediately.
I've been a Windows Phone user for some time (Omnia 7, Lumia 800, then 820), but seriously, this issue was really making me consider my choice of platform.
Music syncing to SD *needs* to work and it needs to work reliably.

  • IOS 6 w/ iphone 4 now doesn't show information on bluetooth music sync pioneer.  What's the plan on this fix, buy another phone?  Become a part of the commercial from Samsung bashing this pointless updates?

pioneer avh-3400bh, just got it installed, read reviews online about bluetooth music information no longer showing up after ios6 update....... any clue to when Apple will either fix this error or allow people to go back to older versions of operating systems?

FINALLY! a firmware update came out today for the 3400BH (among others) - I got an email from PIoneer and downloaded and installed the new firmware - now the radio works perfect! The only problem is, you can only install the firmware update via bluetooth PC, which is NOT as easy as the instrucions show - if you have a bluetooth dongle (like I do) there were several issues during the install - finally got it installed (not quite sure how exactly) but it works.

  • IPhone 5S Music syncing issues after 8.0.2

    Hello,
I have been having irritating issues getting my iPhone 5S to sync my music library over after updating to 8.0.2.
I did a backup onto my laptop prior to updating, and went ahead with the new update. The first thing I noticed was after updating to 8.0.2 in order to sync again, iTunes prompted me that I was lacking 6GB of data on my phone to sync my library. I did not use my phone at all during the updating process so there's no way 6GB of data was magically written on it's storage drive. I could not figure out why in the world iTunes would tell me I needed to free up 6GB to sync the exact same music that was already there prior to. I went ahead and completely deleted my entire Music library from the phone, and tried to resync fresh. I still got the same message from iTunes. Believing in the program and going ahead and doing some spring cleaning, I ended up freeing a good amount of things off of my phone, applications, photos, messages, etc. to drop 6GB from the storage. I went ahead and synchronized my iPhone 5S with iTunes so I could get my music on my phone. It proceeded to go ahead and sync my roughly 1400 songs onto the iPhone. After it was complete, it showed I had an astounding 12GB of free space on my phone... I said to **** with it and just wanted to play my music. The phone seems to have all of my library that I chose to sync on my Music app. The problem is, when I go to play songs the music app will Skip over certain songs. I have not found any commonality between which songs it chooses to skip. It skips newly added songs, it skips old songs, it skips purchased songs, it skips songs downloaded from other sites. There seems to be no structure to which songs it's skipping. Another thing to note, whenever I connect my iPhone 5S to my iTunes and sync, I am Always able to sync something new onto the phone (around step 5 or 6 when it is completing the sync, it will mysteriously add some songs to the phone). Those songs are playable. Then I shuffle through my playlist, and Still the same problem remains, it has removed some songs and skips over them. It seems to Sync songs, and Delete songs... completely at random. This is bothering me and I'm not sure what to do, and am Very unsatisfied with the amount of bugs still left in the software. I wonder if others are having similar issues and maybe we can bring some light to this.
    Thank You,
    Andrew

  • Music Sync Issues with Windows 7 PC

I am having issues where iTunes freezes when syncing music to my iPad. iTunes completely freezes, the sync doesn't complete, and the music is not seen as visible to the PC until a reboot. There are other posts in the forum for Mac users that talk about old plug-ins being the culprit; the instructions for how to find the plug-ins are written for Mac users, so does anyone know how to look at these with Windows 7? Also, there is a fix listed on the forum but my PC doesn't know what to do with these (doesn't recognize the program type). Any ideas on how to fix?
The other posting also states that this can happen when an iPhone is on the same account...I have an iPhone on this account as well.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Nope. No hangs in vista not XP. But, I won't have a phone that can't tether so I don't have an iphone too.
Is it backing up? I hear it's slow for lots of data. For no good reason other than a bad host tool (itunes).

  • IPod Touch Music Syncing Issue

Using iTunes 10.7, I'm trying to add music to my 4G iPod touch running 6.1.2.  The files appear within the iPod sidebar Music tab, greyed out with the sync icon next to them but they never finish copying; they just stay grey and nothing happens.  I am able to select and delete them, and they remain after I unplug and plug back in, but the iPod never shows anything in Music.  When I add files manually, the sync icon replaces the sidebar eject icon, during which time it is able to create playlists in the sidebar, but then the sync ends immediately and the iTunes status bar never displays the copying process, just the Apple logo.  Same thing happens whether I add 1 file or 100 files.  Same thing happens whether I sync music automatically or manually (I have switched between the two methods several times).  I have tried adding new files and different file formats to my iTunes library; those ones don't work either.  I have also tried restoring from the iPod backup, and resetting the iPod entirely, but I still get the same result.  Additionally, I am able to manage Apps as usual.
Anybody have any ideas?  As a last resort, I may try re-installing iTunes 10.7, but I would prefer to find a fix for this without upgrading iTunes to 11 or 12.

I had already tried that and I got the same problem.  I did get the issue resolved, although I don't know the reason it was acting up.  What I did was upgrade iTunes to iTunes 11, update the iPod to 6.1.6, then downgrade back to iTunes 10.7

  • Music syncing issue after latest update

I'm having issues syncing my music on my iPhone 4 after this latest security update. Some of the files seem to be "stuck" on the phone. They won't remove, others just won't play, I can't add anything to the phone. Etc. SOS!!!

Have you tried re-installing the firmware through Nokia Suite? Remember to backup all your phone contents when prompted by Nokia Suite.

  • Bluetooth music quality issues

I recently had a JVC KD-R810 installed in my Jetta. The A2DP connects and audio is transmitted but the quality is horrible! At first I thought the new unit blew my speakers but when I switch the imput to CD my speakers are fine at all volumes. Does anyone know why I have these sound issues? Does all A2DP sound this bad?

I really hope Mitchell, but I'm afraid that JVC will say that the issue is with the iPhone Bluetooth profiles...I spoke to one of my colleagues in IT, and he was basically saying that when the Auto-Connect is turned on on the radio, it uses whatever Bluetooth profiles that is pushed by the iPhone, which seems to push the Phone profile first, then A2DP for audio and finally AVRCP (not sure of this one but that's the one that allows you to skip tracks for example).
When the AutoConnect feature is turned off and you select to get the A2DP profile from your iPhone by selecting ''Connect Audio Device'' on the radio, it obviously connects first, then the Phone profile connects as well. This seems to be why we encounter that behaviour.
I don't expect this to be resolved any time soon...so either you use the workaround described now, or you use the AutoConnect feature with a USB iPod cable so your music doesn't get distorted and you benefit from Bluetooth handsfree communication.
But it's a shame that this wasn't tested out further and addressed by Apple and car audio manufacturers.

  • Music Syncing Issue

Some of my music disappeared after I synced it to my computer. I went to the iTunes Store on my phone and I looked up songs that had disappeared, and it showed that I didn't buy any of them, even though I did. What do I do to get my music back onto my phone?

If this new computer you used to sync is "your" computer - the one you will be syncing with from now on, you can authorize the other Apple ID on iTunes on that computer.  Go to Store > Authorize This Computer on iTunes there and enter the other Apple ID and password.  Then resync.
If this other computer you used to sync is not "your" computer, then you have a bigger issue.

  • ITunes-iPhone music syncing issue, HELP PLEASE!

Hi, after having some hardware issues with my iPhone 5, Apple replaced it with a new one.
I restored everything from my iCloud backup with no problem and it downloaded all of my iTunes Store songs on the phone without any issues and as I plugged my phone into my 2010 MacBook Pro to put some new songs to it from a CD I just bought, ALL of the songs that I have on my phone that I bought from the iTunes Store were duplicated as grey 'ready to sync' songs. But they were not syncing. So I deleted all music and videos from my phone (by the way, I always use the Manually manage songs and videos function in all my devices, never did auto-sync) thinking maybe if i drag everything from my computer it'll change, but it won't! Whenever I click on 'sync', the grey songs appear. And the grey songs are only the songs that were bought from the iTunes Store and the songs I used to have on the other iPhone, that are in the iCloud backup. I've tried almost eveything for the past 3 days and finally gave up and decided to ask for help. If anyone can help me i'll be extremely grateful, thanks.
My iPhone 5 is running on iOS 7.0.6 and 11.1.4 on iTunes
ps: Please feel free to ask anything if I didn't explain it too clearly, English is not my main language.

Im unable to assist you with the mac/mail side of the house. If you had outlook then I could assist. My thougts would be...With your phone plugged into iTunes, go to the second tab and confirm that you have contacts checked to sync between your computer/phone...if you don't then it will just transfer all your 0's and 1's to digi land. Contacts and calenders sync with your calender software, iTunes is just the conduit to get it there. I would also recommend that when you get your contacts back on your computer that you create a backup file in case this happens again, then you can just restore it. Hope this all helps.
    Good Luck

  • IPod died trying to fix purchased music sync issue.

I've tried everything except to do a restore of my OS to sync my click wheel Ipod to my purchased music. I have this problem since Itunes 5.0 was released. It was working fine since then. The last thing I did did was to update my Itunes to 6.0.1 and install the latest IPod updater (10-12). Well, after I tried to install the updater and every previous updater after that (for the fifth time). My Quicksilver G4 froze. I restarted and disconnected my Ipod. Now my IPod is unresponsive. No display. It won't charge and I can not reset. It is just dead. Anything I can do besides sending it for repair for $249? Thanks for any help.

No. Once you download the music, it is yours and you are responsible for backing it up.
You did not maintain a back up of your music?
From Itunes Store terms of service:
" PRODUCTS CAN ONLY BE DOWNLOADED ONCE; AFTER BEING DOWNLOADED, THEY CANNOT BE REPLACED IF LOST FOR ANY REASON. YOU SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR OWN SYSTEM, INCLUDING ANY PRODUCTS PURCHASED OR RENTED FROM THE ITUNES STORE THAT ARE STORED IN YOUR SYSTEM."

  • OH MY HELP!  iPod Music Sync Issue

updated itunes (which hasn't been done in a very long time)
got all set up... just purchased new songs...tried to sync everything...my old classic ipod syncs up fine (time, space, etc) ...but the new songs are not downloading no matter what i try.  tried creating a playlist and that doesn't do it either.
this is my 2nd computer which is authorized so i don't know what to do next....and i'm leaving for vacation very soon   HELP!!

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If all music wasn't purchased from the iTunes store, your iTunes library should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important dat on your computer's hard drive, which should have been updated before your computer was restored by whoever restored your computer without your knowledge and permission.

Why is music purchased on iPhone 5 not appearing in Recently Added Playlists until I sync with PC? These songs used to show up right away on the phone in my Recently Added Smart Playlists. Please help!
