Bluetooth: N8 to Panasonic CY-BT200 car handsfree

Hi,
I got my Nokia N8 a few days ago and I had Panasonic CY-BT200 car handsfree installed today. The two work together... partially. I can pair them up, I can receive and answer calls, but I can't seem to play audio.
Since both are new to me, It is quite possible I am missing something either in the handsfree settings or in the N8 settings.
The screen on the car is blank (though it is visible that the connection is established) and when I press play on the phone it tries to play but immediately reverts to paused.
Any ideas, suggestions...?

Sadly for me, PR 1.1 did not fix my issue.
I know chances are slim, but I'm still hoping that perhaps with the next firmware... someone at Nokia probably works solely on bluetooth, right? Maybe my car kit is in someone's queue.
The most frustrating thing for me is the feeling that it's probably a simple fix, a line or two of code or something. Because the devices seem to see each other and talk to each other, except when it comes to music, which simply refuses to stream.

how do i get my iphone5 to sync with my cars handsfree bluetooth?

You need to check the car's manual to see how to put the car into discovery/pairing mode. Once that is done, the iPhone and car should recognize each other, so long as Bluetooth is turned on in the phone. You may have to enter a passcode in the phone for the vehicle, but that is generally explained in the vehicle's manual.

  • Bluetooth car handsfree caller can't here me

I have a 5800XM  and a Supertooth Voice car handsfree and it pairs ok and I was able to transfer the phone book to it but when I recieve a call the person at the other end cannot hear me.
At first I thought it was the supervoice but i tried it on another phone, a Nokia 5228 which is virtuall identical to the 5800 and it worked fine with the bluetooth.
I have the latest firmware on the phone V52.0.007 and I tried a hard reset but that made no difference.
After Googleing the problem it appeares I'm not the only one who has this so has Nokia come out with a fix yet or are they not bothered.
If there is no fix does anybody know if there is a wired hands free kit that works with this phone, not the headset type or a mega expensive plumbed in setup

Nobody here can help, I'm afraid, as we're all customers same as you. Give Sky a call to report the fault.

  • Bluetooth for playing music in a car

I just bought a jabra which is a handsfree bluetooth device that has a speaker, and mounts to your visor so you can enjoy handsfree talk. But this device also has a fm transmitor so I can play my songs through my car stereo (or listen to conversation thru)...this is all via bluetooth. So I just walk into my truck and away I go...Im tranmitting to my speakers. Problem is...the fm transmitor *** butt. And though some people may be happy with it...Ive invested too much money into my audio to allow static to blow my speakers.
So...my question is...is there a bluetooth device that you can use for handsfree talking that hooks into your car via aux cables. OMG....if there is I would be so thrilled. The jabra is an awewsome concept...but the transmitor is not strong (and if someone suggest a new station I will freak out). But the same device using aux cables would be something everyone should have.

    I bought one of these --> http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-MBR-100-Bluetooth-Receiver/dp/B000NWB0J0/ref =sr16?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1259084155&sr=8-6
It works well, but there's no volume control on the unit, and it disables the volume control on the iPhone - so you wouldn't want to use it with headphones. For playing through a car stereo, it works just fine.

  • Is it possible to get Siri to work with 'old' Car handsfree systems?

Is it possible to get Siri to work with 'old' Car handsfree systems?
Unless I'm missing something - Siri doesn't work well with older handsfree car systems - as typically the cars built in system handles the voice control and relays the request to the phone over bluetooth protocols.  I tried initiating siri standalone while connected to the car and it failed.
I was hoping I might be able to do some sneaky like 'Call Siri' to enter Siri mode but it doesn't seem to work.
I'm guessing future Car handsfree systems will be Siri aware - but making Siri work with older systems (and my car isn't old - it's a 2011 model) would be very useful.
Has anyone come up with a workaround?  I really don't want to have to buy or use a bluetooth ear piece
    Thanks
    Adam

I never heard anything on this and so am still unable to use Siri without touching my phone.

  • BlueAnt Car Handsfree & E61i

I purchased a BlueAnt Supertooth Handsfree Car Speakerphone recently which I succesfully paired and used with my E61i phone.
For a good while it worked well until I started using an external Nokia GPS receiver.
While I can still receive GPS info via bluetooth to the phone for TomTom, I cannot now receive any audio through the car speaker phone (phone calls or directions from TomTom).
I went to the shop where I bought the car handsfree and the fault (what ever that may be) seems to lie with the phone.
I think I may have to perform a hard reset of the phone to get it back to factory defaults (and hopefully fix the audio issue).
Any feedback on this problem from anybody?

    Scubarish.
Indeed the Parrot MKi9200 looks very slick and I have no doubt it's a great system.
However it isn't cheap at  $474.95 in Canada : https://secure.crcc.ca/details.php?productId=594&id=14
Also from what I understand it has to be installed and connected with wires to the existing stereo system
which comes at an additional price ? Not sure how much it costed you.
All in all, the Motorola T505 is only about $60 which is more than my budget of $100+-.
    Thanks for your input.

  • 9860 unable to make a call - car handsfree

Please help. I've sucessfully connected via Bluetooth and enabled phone on car handsfree.  I receive calls directly on hands free - no problem.  I can make a call, from my 9860 and then continue with the conversation on the handsfree.  BUT I cannot make a call from the go via the car or handsfree device.  Go through the motions on handsfree when making a call until "calling the number".  Call is then rejected with message:  "Unable to find channel or circuit".

  • 8.1 did not fix Bluetooth issue with iPhone 5 and car

8.1 didn't fix my issue with Bluetooth. I can receive calls and play music thru my Mazda CX-9 but I cannot make outgoing calls. My daughter has same issue with her iPhone 5 in her car so it has to be glitch with Apple yet. Please help. I'm so totally frustrated and I'm not eligible for iPhone 6 until January.

I found there is another contact group list as part of the Bluetooth sync menu; altering that took care of the issue.
    This is a non-issue.

  • Bluetooth calls no longer work in car since upgrading to ios 8

upgraded my 5S to iOS 8 on Sep 19 and now cannot make or receive calls in my car or my bluetooth headset. I have reset my phone, deleted bluetooth connection and repaired, updated my car's software and all to no avail. I'm sure Apple will blame my car (2014 bmw x6m) but my Plantronics bluetooth headset doesn't connect either. Please update ASAP, this is crazy and last straw I think. I hated but followed along when they changed the charging ports to lightning but I can't take this anymore. I live where its illegal to be on the phone in my car so I need this and I'm tired of my Android friends laughing at me and never mentioning these type of connection/compatibility issues.

Was in the Apple Stor this morning in Indianapolis and picked up a Bluetooth keyboard to use with my iPad mini 2. Sadly neither I nor staff could get it to work with voiceover working. The staff, both sales and tech, appeared as shocked as I was. I was surprised that over 6 months Apple had not fixed this issue. Now I am wasting my time trying to back up reports of this problem on Apple's website. I know Apple over the last 10 years had given a lot of us so many advancements, but maybe that's changing? All I know is that as a busy professional, Apple has cost me about 4 hours of lost productivity today. I wish I could charge them for it!

  • Why does Apple not support the rSAP - Remote SIM Access Profile - for connection to car handsfree via Bluetooth

    Hello community,
I just ordered a new car and it comes with a bluetooth based handsfree installation based on rSAP (remote SIM access profile). I learned that rSAP is the ideal thing to eliminate the unwanted radiofrequency radiation (RFR) inside the car. Now while googleing I also learned that iPhone on iOS does not support rSAP.
I would like to point to the following page which shows some more detailed information on the rSAP topic:
    http://paulroberts69.wordpress.com/2011/02/28/android-2-2-and-rsap-compatibility /
I find rSAP a very usefuly thing, if it really brings the GSM radiation level down inside the car and allows the full use of all GSM functions by the rSAP premium handsfree kit built into the car. I absolutely do not understand why it is not already available with iOS.
From several web sources I understand that rSAP is available for jailbroken iPhones. That means, the chips inside the iPhone would support a rSAP service. Therefore my question: will it become available with iOS 6?
Or do all the folks at Apple drive old cars/brands and don't even think of the rSAP feature? Can we somehow start to get a hearing by the Apple developers? According to my knowledge, rSAP is implemented with all premium handsfree factory units of the VW brands - Audi, VW, Skoda ... This should make a relevant user base!
Any others with same wish and/or experiences? Comment here please!
    Regards,
    Olaf

    Hi Meg,
    could be several things:
    1. they forgot?
    2. none of their team members drives any VW branded car?
    3. nobody cares about the radiation inside the car?
    4. all have plugin holders for the iPhone?
I am just surprised that rSAP is offered by a premium car maker, but Apple seems ignorant about its support.
I am mostly concerned about the radiation when I use regular hands free. But I do understand that rSAP also has some limitations (only access to SIM contacts and other things, Wikipedia DE has a good full report, Wikipedia EN is much shorter).

    Olaf

  • Bluetooth problems(car handsfree link) in 6 plus ios 8.0.2

I installed ios 8.0.2 in my iphone 6 plus and from then on, i am not able to make or place calls through my car bluetooth (but listening to audio is working fine). i have an acura and bluetooth was working fine in ios8. Just checking if anyone experiencing the same.

    Hello there, sainalla.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting the issue you're desribing:
If you can’t use a Bluetooth accessory or car kit
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6473
To resolve the issue, you'll need to first sign in to iCloud and review your devices:
Sign in to iCloud on your iOS devices.
On one of your devices, tap Settings > Bluetooth and look under My Devices. You'll see all devices that are connected to Bluetooth, but make sure that you see your Apple devices that are signed in to iCloud and are using iOS 8.
Sign out of your iCloud account from any devices that you don't want to use. To sign out of iCloud on an iOS device, tap Settings > iCloud > Sign Out.
Then, remove any inactive devices from iCloud:
    Sign in to iCloud.com.
    Select Find My iPhone.
Select any devices that aren't active anymore.
Wait for Find My iPhone to stop trying to find the inactive device.
You should see the option to remove this device from your account. Select it to remove the device.
After following the steps above, restart the device with the issue. Then try to use it with your Bluetooth accessory.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Z30 Bluetooth issue with car handsfree since update to 10.3.1.1784

    Hi,
I am having a lot of problems getting my Z30 to work properly with my car's bluetooth system (BMW E46 - built 03/2004) since upgrading to this OS version. The Bluetooth system is factory installed (not 3rd party). I had a read through these forums and found some people who also had B/T issues in their vehicles, but I couldn't see what the fixes were (if one exists, feel free to point me in the right direction or send me the URL). The interesting thing is that my phone WAS working just fine until I updated to this OS version - now I cannot see my phone's Address Book on the in-car screen anymore (when I select "DIRECTORY" or "SPEED DIAL", it just displays a message "PLEASE WAIT" and does nothing).I also have issues making calls (the car isn't able to make the phone dial out). It gives the indication that it is, but when I look at the phone itself, the screen shows no activity. I have tried to Unpair and re-Pair, but no difference in behaviour. The pairing process itself works fine, and the phone asks me whether to share my contacts, etc with the in-car Bluetooth system - but even if I select "YES", it doesn't make a difference. Anyone know a fix? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just wondering if anyone from Blackberry is monitoring these forums, as my problem still hasn't been resolved. I recently checked for a software update (hoping there would be one available), but my device tells me that I have the latest software.

  • Problem with in-car handsfree

I'm going to re-test/play around with this some more tomorrow, but my 2006 BMW bluetooth hands-free doesn't seem compatible? It pairs and dials, but the sound still comes out of the handset and not the car speakers.
    Anyone else experience anything similar?

I have the same problem with the handsfree in a 2007
    BMW X5
The iPhone brings up a screen allowing audio choice between
the normal iPhone handset, speakerphone setting on the iPhone
itself and the handsfree in the car. The handsfree setting still plays over the iPhone.
I've had a Razr and Treo both paired with the car system
    with no problem.
    No ideas so far.

  • E61 and CR-47 in-car handsfree problems

I've just installed the CR-47 handsfree holder for the E61 in my Mini and connected the antenna, replacing a previous holder for smaller 6100 pop port Nokia. However, now when the E61 is firmly in the holder it charges but when making a call does not automatically turn the radio off and go through the car speaker system etc, so you can't talk to the other caller. But if I put my old Nokia into the CR-47 it works beautifully.
Could there be a problem with the setup of my E61 which is preventing connection? It seems that the E61 cannot trigger the correct Pop-Port connector for routing through the car kit - very silly.
I'm afraid I don't know which car kit it is, but I do know that it was professionally fitted with cable runs through the structure of the car and all wired up to the in-car entertainment system etc.
There is also an indicator in the top righthand corner of the screen - a tray with an arrow pointing upwards. What does this mean, I can't find it in the manual?
I don't see how Nokia can sell this cradle for the E61 with a Pop-Port interface when it won't interact with the handsfree functions except for charging.
    Thanks guys!

OK, it might not be the CARK-126. The Mini is 2002 registered so it could be a different kit. All I know is that the kit is all plugged in behind the CD player with the microphone coming out next to the drivers mirror.
Could it be another car kit?
Is there anything I can do to make it work at all?
    Can I change the wiring?
Just seems like the E61 is unable to mute the system, but is able to charge and goes into car mode. Also, the other car kits that are compatable are bluetooth ones, so there is no need for the Pop-Port, so why have it except for charging!
I basically want to be able to use the Pop-Port system and have the E61 work the same way the 6100 does.Message Edited by peab1 on 10-Aug-2006

  • IOS8 Bluetooth broken for BMW and VW factory handsfree

Since upgrading to IOS8, both iPhone 5C and iPhone 4s have issues in both BMW and VW handsfree, that worked perfectly under IOS 7.x - other iPhone 5c works fine under IOS7.
Phones connect and sync phone books, then drops connection.  Attempt to make or receive call - no audio, must revert to handset or speaker mode.
Doesn't seem to be car manufacturer specific based on posts, Apple may need to review if indeed IOS8 has broken something in the BT specs.
I think I will revert to IOS7 if possible, safety is my concern for the family.

The way I fixed my issue -
Backup your iphone to your PC/Desktop/Laptop.
Reset your iphone to Factory Defaults   (General - Reset - Erase All Content & Settings).
This will bring you back to the "Welcome" screen.
Tap through all the welcome screens - but when it asks you if you want to restore your phone or setup as a new user.    Choose the option to setup as a new user (DO NOT restore from your icloud backup).
This will leave you with a brand new setup of your iphone with no data or apps (except the default apps).
Then go out to your car and pair it with your car and test.    It should work fine.
then go back in the house and hookup the iphone to your PC/Desktop/Laptop using the USB cable and you should be able to see the apps that were loaded and click on them to reinstall them back to the phone and then add your contacts, calendar, etc.
The bluetooth connectivity was very important to me to get working, even if I had to manually type my contacts back into my phone.   I use Exchange for my email so my contacts, appointments, etc loaded the minute I added my mail account back to the phone.
    Good luck.
This is what I found worked for me.    Hope it helps.
Worst case - if it doesnt work - wipe the phone to factory defaults again and then restore from your last icloud backup.
