Bluetooth off, menu grayed out

I've been having that issue of my Bluetooth turning off and not available to turn back on. I'd have to restart to get it going again. Well, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, as I've not seen any answers anywhere.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.4 and I have the Developer Tools installed. Located in the Developer folder under Applications/Utilities/Bluetooth is a utility called Bluetooth Explorer. In its Utilities menu, select HCI Controller Selecor, select your "controller" — There was only one selection, so I assume this was the built-in Bluetooth module and click "Make Active."
Your Bluetooth menu will show Bluetooth unavailable, then available once again. I'm guessing this is like a reboot of the module, or at least an initialization of it.
I guess I'm kinda wondering why this can't be done automatically. Why does this happen at all?

This gets wedged pretty often for me and I've never had any solution
other than to reboot the computer (which I don't do for weeks at a
time, which means that Bluetooth has been available on my laptop
for much of its life.)

A Bug. I wish I knew the exact sequence of operations I do to cause
the Bluetooth daemon to crash, because I'd really like to file a bug
report which got fixed.

I don't know what operating system you are using, and I am not familiar with AMD video cards so I don't know the likely age and specs of your computer, but you need to make sure the driver is updated directly from the AMD site

PROBLEMS:
1. When clicking on the Finder icon in the dock, the main menu grays out and the window with documents, applications etc., does not pop up.
2. iMac is not showing up in iCloud.com and, not syncing with my MacBook Pro, iPad Mini and iPhone.
This situation seemed to appear after doing updates on my iMac.
TROUBLESHOOTING I'VE TRIED:
1. rebooted,
2. repaired permissions,
3. booted in safe-mode and let the basic tests run then rebooted to normal mode. Afterwards, the problem seemed to be corrected, however, it re-appeared shortly thereafter and still exists.

Go to the Finder's General preference pane and reset the New Finder windows show: option. Try changing it to some other folder, try it and then back again.
If that doesn't jump start it try moving the com.apple.finder.plist file from your Home/Library/Preferences folder to the Desktop, reboot and then reset the Finder preferences.
For Mavericks and Yosemite go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

Adobe Indesign 3 Menu grayed out

All the tools in the menu along the top are grayed out. They are unworkable. Also when I initially open Indesign 3, the title page opens but lacks the green and red button on the upper left corner and seems disabled. I reinstalled Indesign 3 and thought the problems were solved. They were not! Any suggestions? Are the 2 problems connected?

Save for Web and Device Grayed menu grayed out

Using Photoshop 11.0.1 (CS4) and Mac OSX 10.5.6), I have an action that saves a retouched file first as a high quality jpg and then as a optimized jpg for the web. It has worked fine in the past, but today when running the action I received a warning that the Export command was not available. I tried manually exporting the using the Save for Web and Devices menu item, but it is grayed out and not available. The file is sized to 1024 pixels on the longest side, no layers and in 8 bit mode.
So far I have done the following:
Trashed the Save for Web preference file
Repaired permissions
Scanned for viruses
Rebooted the system
Any other ideas short of a reinstall?

Most menu grayed out when using a Pages Newsletter template

I selected a newsletter template (Design newsletter) and I'm working on it to create my own newsletter. I've been able to do some changes, but when trying to do add objects to the master (I want to have a watermark in each page), or insert page numbers, or a page break i can see that a lot of the menu items are grayed out. Is there something I'm missing? When i create a document from scratch all the menu is available. I even tried to copy all I had in the newsletter I'm creating and pasting to a new blank document, but then it looks complete messed up... Please give me a hand with this

*Page Layout* mode does not have master objects. Instead there is a template for each layout under the Pages menu on the toolbar.
For watermarks you will have to position the graphic, change its transparency, send it to the back and lock it.
Then:
+Menu > Format > Advanced > Capture Pages…+
Name the new page template which will then appear under the Pages menu on the toolbar. You will get a copy of that particular layout every time you select it from the menu. Think of it like a rubber stamp or Xerox copier, not a master anything.
Retrospectively editing is a PITA as editing a page template does nothing to pages already using a template. The process of replacing a template, pointless as it is, is rendered even more absurd by the arcane method needed to do it. You have to type exactly the same name as the existing page template, including U&lc, without being able to view the name, then overwrite it.
The mess continues as it asks whether you want to include more than the one page but all other options are greyed out. There are a string of features which don't work, half work or work badly with no explanation.
It is confusing as *Page Layout* mode actually lacks exactly the kind of things that you would expect of most layout programs but the features still remain in the menus from *Word Processing* mode.
It is the consequence of some very muddled thinking by Apple's programmers.

"Turn Passcode Off" is grayed out.

After upgrading to iOS 7 on my Ipad 3 the "Turn Passcode Off" button is grayed out. I did have an Exchange account on it, but I have since removed it. I also have an iPhone 5 on iOS 7 and I can turn off and on the passcode at will even with an Exchange account. I have reapplied the update and restored same thing. Then I completly reset it and I could turn it off and on. But as soon as I restored the passcode lock came back. Also as not "Erase Data" is also grayed out.

Reset all Settings will work. I canceled it though before it started.
Also if it matters I can change my passcode, just not turn it off.

Problems Exporting & Menu Gray Out

I have used iMovie since version 1, and have always had awesome results. I have encountered two problems: First, I have finished a short movie (5 minutes or so) and tried to export to camera ( Which I have done many times) and about halfway through, the video hangs and the sound continues. This happens when I try on 3 different machines (the third is a 400 Mghz iMac). The second problem, is that the transition menu is grayed out. I can still drop and drag transitions and update them, so really this is more of an annoyance than a huge problem. Any thoughts?

Flash has 8 default brush sizes. You can change the brush size by selecting the brush size button in the tool panel while the brush tool is selected. The brush size button is located toward the bottom of the panel if your workspace is set to Essential.
As for the fill and stroke properties menu being grayed out, I am not sure what you mean. Can you please explain further or take a screenshot?

Recent Places menu grayed out

In many of my applications the Recent Menu stopped working. In Quark XPress 6.5 the menu is there but it is grayed out and there are no recent places listed. In Adobe CS2 it just plain doesn't work. If I try to pull that menu down, then the whole application locks up. I've switched to the Adobe Dialog in Adobe CS2 just so I don't accidently try to select the Recent Places menu. However a pure cocoa app like BBEdit the menu still works fine. I think this just started recently when switching to Tiger. I've reinstalled Tiger from scratch and it still does it. Any chance somebody knows how I could fix this problem. I tried throwing out my com.apple.recetnplaces.plist file and it didn't help. I also tried throwing out Quark and Adobe prefs, but it didn't fix the problem. I'm running 10.4.3.

I've had the same problem with a computer in my department. We just tried this and it worked:

First, go to Terminal and enter: ls /volumes/
If it lists any volumes other than your internal hard drives, this may be the problem. In my case, a mounted volume from my Windows PC was showing up, even though I'd ejected it.
The fix was to just run: sudo rm -R /volumes/X
...X being the name of the "extra" volume.
WARNING: Be absolutely sure that this extra volume is really disconnected first!! I actually unplugged the PC's network cable to be sure.

I was trying to access the Kuler panel when I realized the Extensions Pulldown is grayed out. CC version is okay.

I didn't found any hint about that in the web.
I googled and came across this little gem buried deep in an Adobe Help article.

Turn off passcode grayed out

i want to disable the passcode on my Ipad 2, but when i try to disable it the button to turn off the passcode is dimmed and won't let me toggle it. I have tried getting rid of my E-mail accounts, my icloud account, signed out of the app store, everything.
any suggestions and ideas.
if possible i dont want to restore my ipad.

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

QTpro menu grayed out

New user purchased QTpro for editing abilities. After entering reg key nothing changed in the menu for Share or Export. Have exhausted options such as reinstalling "7". Unable to find answer anywhere. Can someone please assist?

http://flip4mac.com is one option for WMP formats as QuickTime Player doesn't support playback without it.
It is third party software and you need to pay extra money to convert WMP formats.

Stacking sub-menu grayed out??

I've got a bunch of imported photos shot in continuous mode, so I want to auto-stack, but the whole sub-menu is disabled, whether or not I've selected all photos. Is using LR 2.0 make a difference?

There are good reasons that it doesn't work everywhere. Let's say you do a search for all images shot with a 50mm lens, and stack some of those together. Next you look into a folder than has 2 of those images. Should they still be stacked? If so, should the images not in that folder be shown? Should there be some indication that other images are in the stack? If so, should the search that grabbed those images be recoverable from the stack? What if the criteria used in that search no longer find the same images? Should they be removed from the stack or left there? I hope you get the idea about the *everywhere* concept.
That doesn't mean they shouldn't work in other places they currently don't.
