Bluetooth on Blackberry Z10

Hello,
Blackberry Z10.
In the technical specifications there is just Bluetooth 4.0LE . What protocols are supported by the z10 Bluetooth and especially it supports you it SAP protocol.

hello Banbara,
I understand your enthusiasm, but please do not post the same question in two different boards on the forum.
I have replied in your other discussion, here:

  • Lack of Bluetooth Functionality Blackberry Z10 Vehicle

About a month ago the Bluetooth stopped working on my vehicle. It would work for my wife's i Phone but not the BB Z10 and it had worked flawlessly for about  a year. It was right after i had upgraded the software. I tried it on our other vehicle and the same result. Thinking it was the phone and after talking to tech support at Rogers they sent me a new phone ($35 later - so much for warranty thank you very much). The new phone worked the first time i tried to pair with vehicle and has not worked since. In addition it would not work on my wife's vehicle. Very frustrating as i like this functionality. I was talking to a buddy of mine and he has the same problem and it occurred after software update. also. All the vehicles were Mercedes. Sad to say iPhone works like a charm and have updated the software and still will not work
Our IT guy suggested deleting the setting and try again still will not work
I can only think it is related to the software update. Very quickly getting to point of giving up. Have been BB user for +10 years but looking like time for a change

    Hi @BurlingtonMike
If possible check for a updates because we have addressed this issue in BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1 MR2. To do so, go to Settings followed Software Updates. For more details check out this post in the BlackBerry Support Community Forums > http://bit.ly/1tOO6qA
    I hope this helps!

  • Blackberry Z10 DUN and Mercedes Comand Online

    Hi community,
I own a BB Z10. I bought it because my iPhone doesn´t support DUN for my Mercedes Comand Online.
Yesterday I paired my BB with the Comand Online. But when I try to use the Online features it tells my " phone doesn´t support mobile network".
But I bought the Z10 only because of that DUN bluetooth function.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Ronny

Since Blackberry Z10 is the newest blackberry phone are you sure the Mercedes Comand online support the z10?
I think you may have to give mercedes benz a call if they support Z10 blackberry

  • Connect Blackberry Z10-Smartphone to handsfree equipment (Bury CC 9068)

    Hi,
I want to connect my Blackberry Z10-Smartphone to my handsfree equipment (Bury CC 9068) in my car. I tried to download the 'Bury CC 9068 App' from the Blackberry App world, but I couldn't download it. It was said that it isn't available for the phone. Although it's said on the Bury-homepage that the phone is compatible to the Bury cc 9068.
The normal Bluetooth-connection doesn't work either. What can I do??

  • Blackberry Z10 Multimedia Dock

    Hi All
I came across the following post:
    http://n4bb.com/hands-blackberry-z10-multimedia-dock/
It looks to be a fantastic device but nobody seems to know if and when it is actually going to be released. Would anybody from Blackberry be able to shed some light on this? The Z10 was released some time ago so there should already be one of these available.
I mean I'm planning on getting my Z10 in a few weeks' time and it looks like I might have to just get a USB dock and modify it for the Micro HDMI which honestly, I would prefer to not have to do.
An OEM Multimedia Dock would be the best thing since sliced bread, I can just connect it all up to my TV and use my bluetooth mouse and keyboard and do all I want from there.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to do that with the modified one but I would just prefer an OEM one!
Please get back to me as soon as possible, Blackberry Support.
    Regards
    Tyrone

    hello Tyrone,
first, this is not the BlackBerry Support. This is a community forum, and we do support as much as we can. But in the end we are just BlackBerry owners like you.
Now, to answer your question, I only have a rumor, that says that that BlackBerry dock will not be released before the Z10 has a full landscape mode (meaning at least for the ActiveFrames and the apps icons).
    That being said:
    1) I don't know how true this rumor is, but I find it logical.
    2) I also don't know when that landscape mode will be available for the Z10, but it seems it will not be available in OS 10.2 which should come in aug/sept.

  • Faulty Devices - Blackberry Z10

Our company recently renewed the corporate mobile phone contract with Maxis and we received Blackberry Z10 Smart Phones as free device for the plan that we signed up.
We received 58 units of Blackberry Z10 in June 2014, out of which to-date, several units (40%) have proven to be faulty and warranty claims were made. The claims were handled by IXSUN SDN BHD – Blackberry Service Centre at Tropicana City Mall.
The type of claims varies from hardware reset, faulty battery, keypad not working, system hang etc…
Our business is IT based and we depend a lot on the Smart Phone, accessing to e-mails and as 80% of our employees are Consultants, they should always be reachable on phone. The faulty devices cost the company additional expenses (admin costs – mileage and toll) and a waste of billable time. We are extremely disappointed and unhappy with the quality of device sent and demand that all the units be replaced with a new batch of devices – all 58 units in total.
We are also surprised with your Service Centre policy whereby no hardcopy is given as supporting document for the warranty claim. Only Acknowledgement Job Card is given and upon receiving the repaired phone, the form is retained by the Service Centre and for record, we are requested to take photo of the form instead!
Please find enclosed, copies of the photo shots taken of the forms, last batch of phones sent in for warranty claim last week.
This is a serious allegation and do revert with your solution to our problem within 14 days of the date of this letter, failing which we will cancel the corporate plan with Maxis and return all the phones back to you and seek monetary compensation for the breach of contract in furnishing faulty devices.
Should you have any queries, please contact Ms Sue at 03 56369016 ext 138 or 012 3242137.

This is a volunteer run forum we do not have anything to do with BB.

  • Must-know BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry 10 tips and tricks

Check out the following must-know BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry 10 tips and tricks to get the most out of your new BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
    1) BlackBerry 10's Built-In Screen Shot Feature
Capturing a screen shot on a BlackBerry 10 device is simple. Just hold both the volume up and volume down keys simultaneously for a couple of seconds until you hear a shutter sound. Screen shots are saved to your BlackBerry 10 camera gallery.
    2) Volume Up/Down Keys as Media Controls
You can use your BlackBerry 10 device's volume up and volume down keys to skip through songs in your music librery. To enable this feature, open your BlackBerry 10 Settings by dragging down from the top of your display while on your Active Frames screen or a home screen panel. Choose Settings from the dropdown menu and click System Volume. On the following page, slide the Music Shortcuts button to the On position.
    3) Volume Up/Down Keys and the BlackBerry 10 Camera
You simply tap your BlackBerry Z10's display with the camera or video camera open to snap an image or start recording a video clip. But it's sometimes easier to use the volume keys. Just tap the volume up or volume down keys with the camera open to snap and image. And you can also use these keys to start and stop video capture when your camera's video mode is enabled.
    4) Instantly Launch Voice Control
The BlackBerry Z10 can initiate lots of different actions based on voice commands thanks to its Voice Control app. And you can instantly launch Voice Control by holding your device's mute key for a couple of seconds.
    5) Launch BlackBerry Camera from Lock Screen
BlackBerry 10 lets you quickly launch your camera application from its lock screen, a feature that can be valuable when you want to take spur-of-the-moment shots. A camera icon appears in the bottom-right corner of the locked display screen, and you can hold it for a couple of seconds to launch the camera app.
    6) Advanced BlackBerry Hub Inbox Controls
The BlackBerry Hub is the central inbox for all of you various BlackBerry 10 application notifications and messages. You can access basic Hub controls by clicking the Menu key at the bottom right of your Hub screen. (The Menu key looks like three dots stacked on top of each other.) But you can also access some advanced BlackBerry Hub controls from the date bars that appear in the inbox stream at the start of each new day.
Just hold a finger on a date bar to bring up controls that let you skip to the start of the past day, the start of the next day, jump to the top of the BlackBerry Hub, jump to the bottom of your BlackBerry Hub or mark all prior messages as read.
    7) Speedy BlackBerry 10 Navigation
The BlackBerry 10 OS can be broken down into three main components: The BlackBerry Hub; the Active Frames screen; and your application panels. You can do navigation through these components using a basic set of swipes and gestures. But you can also use the tiny slider tray that appears at the bottom of the Active Frames screen and all of your home panels. Just tap a specific panel in the slide to navigate directly to that panel without scrolling. Touch the Active Frames square, which is composed of four smaller squares, to jump directly to your active apps page. Or tap the Hub button, which looks like three horizontal lines on top of each other, to navigate right to the Hub.
    8) See Your Battery Life Status as a Percentage
The BlackBerry 10 OS does not currently allow you to set your battery-status indicator to show a specific percentage, only a battery icon. But you can check your device's hardware settings for a more specific battery status. Just open your device's Settings by sliding down from the top of your Active Frames or application-panel screen and choose Settings from the dropdown menu. Then click About. On the following screen, change the Category menu from General to Hardware. You'll see a battery percentage listed in the Hardware information.
    9) BlackBerry 10 Boot Status as a Percentage
Whenever you restart or power up your BlackBerry 10 devices, a BlackBerry logo appears with a status bar that encircles it. The status bar shows you start-up progress, but you can also view that progress as a percentage number. Just hold your finger anywhere on the BlackBerry logo and a progress percentage appears.
    10) BlackBerry Z10 Keyboard Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts
You can type special characters using the BlackBerry 10 virtual keyboard by holding your finger on top of a letter with associated special characters (e, a, i, o, u, y, etc.), and then sliding your finger over to the character of your choice.
Quickly sliding your finger downward from the top of your keyboard to its bottom cycles through the number and character screens so you don't have to tap the number/character screens button, which can slow down typing.
And you can delete an entire word instead of just individual letters by swiping leftward from the backspace key toward the center of your keyboard.

  • Blackberry z10 screen

Hello blackberry! first off, just wanted to tell you how much i support you guys. I've had numerous blackberries throughout the years and i've even got others to support you haha. This latest release of the blackberry z10 is absolutely amazing! i love the os, the phone...it's perfect. So heres my issue. I recently bought your phone (not from my phone company so no warranty), and i got a screen protector to help prevent the need of the warranty. I put the screen protector on and this HUGE white and black blob appeared. I took the protector off and the black went away and most of the white did as well. However, there is now a bit of the white covering the screen that refuses to leave. It is VERY worrisome and i dont know what to do or how to go about fixing it. i've rebooted the phone, i've taken the battery out and left it, i've left it in rice for an expended period of time..but nothing. It appears as though this white is behind the screen because all of the writing and stuff goes overtop of it. Attached you'll find a pic of what i'm talking about. What do i do and please oh please tell me you can help out a poor broke student fix his favorite phone in the whole world! lol. I look forward to your response.

I can see the image fine.
Is the crescent shaped white blobs in the center of the screen?
I've not seen that before and I am afraid if you don't have a warranty, you're stuck.
Why don't you have any warranty?

  • BlackBerry Z10, so many frustrating issues

I have been using my Blackberry Z10 for 4 months.  I still have so many issues that don't work like I would like, and I know if there is something that can fix them.  There is a list, for sure there are more that I don't remember right now.
Battery: it never arrives to low charge before turning off.  Close to 35-30% it goes to sleep.  I tried some of the solutions I´ve read (full charge after taking out battery, reset, etc) but nothing worked.
Two times blocked: Since last OS update, I unlock the phone with my key and some seconds later another screen asks me to put the key again.  It doesn't happen always, but very frequently.
GPS and tracking: I downloaded every app for tracking gps, like Endomondo, Runkeeper, etc, and no one works.  It is always "searching for satellites".  Sometimes, in an hour, it gets the satellites for e few seconds.  I downloaded GPS Status, as mentioned in other forums, and it works.  But not the other apps.
Transferring files: When I connect it to the computer and want to transfer files from internal memory or the microSD card, it looses connectivity while transferring.  I have to move files to the SDcard, then take it out and transfer them in the SDcard reader in the computer.
Music stops while playing: very frequently music makes very little pauses during the play.  I hate that when I play music.  I kill all the tasks, so the only thing running is the Music, but it is not solved.
Wrong words learned: when you make a mistake and type wrongly a word, it remembers it and suggest it up to the end.  For example: it seems I once wrote "Germn" instead of  "Germán".  So I type G+e and it suggest me "Germn", then I type the r, and continues suggesting "Germn".  I hate that.
Automatic message in the mail account: I must turn off the Automatic message "Sent from my smartphone..." every few hours.  It goes back to on and put that message again...
    Any idea of possible solutions?
    Thanks,
    Martín

If you had one or two issues, I'd suggest tackling them individually but because you're experiencing issues at this level, your OS should be looked at.
What OS are you currently running? To find this out, swipe down and select Settings>(Category - OS) and give us the OS version.
    Cheers.

  • Blackberry Z10 Sudden Death Syndrome

For some inexplicable reason my Blackberry Z10 has died after a short life of three weeks. It was a quiet passing. She was working fine this morning faithfully taking calls, sending e-mails and reading text messages.  And then she just went to sleep and never woke up. Reinforcements are on the way; however I remain phoneless for the next three to five business days.
Three to five business days later…
Newly “certified refurbished” Blackberry Z10 from Verizon arrived then it died. This time death came about two weeks.  She was working awesome receiving texts and checking mail and then she was gone. She died fully charged with no history of dropping or having been coffee’d.
All attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful (e.g., removing battery, tethering to computer to force software reload with or without battery, switching battery,  removing memory card, removing SIM card, checking that the white stickers weren’t pink, begging and pleading , crying, etc.)
I believe that there is a defect in the phone. I think that they should be recalled and replaced with new non-refurbished phones. IMHO.
In lieu of flowers please send chocolate.
