Bluetooth on ipad

Am unable to transfer files between my MacBook air and iPad 2 using bluetooth. MacBook air gives a message that the necessary services are not available on iOS device.mplease help

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
As you've discovered, Bluetooth on the iPad supports wireless keyboards and headphones/headsets, but not file transfer.
Use the USB connection cable and iTunes, iCloud, Dropbox or similar app, or email things back and forth.

Yeah, I know. "If my $20 cell phone can do it, why not my tablet?"

  • How do I use bluetooth on ipad

I am trying to connect my ipad 2 to my phone with bluetooth. the phone found the ipad but ipad wants a pin. This is the first time I have used bluetooth on ipad so have not setup a pin number. what do I use?

Connect it to your phone for what reason? The only supported Bluetooth connection would be for tethering. You would connect through the Personal Hotspot settings.

  • How can I connect Bluetooth in iPad retina with non apple devices ?

How can I connect Bluetooth in iPad retina with non apple devices ?

    What devices?
The iPad can only pair with earphones, speakers and keyboards.
It cannot directly pair with other phones or computers for file transfer or other operations.
Most Bluetooth devices will have a user guide to connect them to other devices. follow that to start the process.
From the iPad side, its just a matter of going inot Settings->BlueTooth turning it on, and searching for the device to pair.

  • Bluetooth in iPad is not connecting with even iMac

Bluetooth in iPad is not discoverable with any device

What devices are you trying to connect to it. the iPad has limited BT profiles.
It won't pair with computers or other cell phones outside of Internet sharing.
No file transfer over bluetooth either if that's what you are trying to accomplish.

You cannot link to another smartphone via Bluetooth from your iPad except perhaps to use the Xperia's personal hotspot (WiFi is supported, but I'm not sure about Bluetooth). If you wish to transfer files or data, that's not possible.

  • After connecting to Bluetooth keyboard, iPad 2 will not connect to Internet (wifi) at all. Wifi is ok, have tried turning off bltooth, wifi on iPad. It sees the network but won't connect.  Help?  Have also reset network settings etc

My iPad wifi was working great until I I connected it by Bluetooth to a keyboard (zagg).  It was the first time I'd used Bluetooth
Immediately Internet was dropped on my ipad. My iPhone was and is still connected no prob. And I cannot get the iPad wifi to work again....at all!!!
This is major as I am away from my desktop for three months.  Any fix cannot involve being at my desktop with iTunes which is 10,000 km away
So far This is what I've tried based on other discussions-
-turned Bluetooth off and unpaired to keyboard which was also turned off
    - turned iPad wifi off and on (several times)
    - forgot the network I useArrive Jul 19 depart Aug 25th. Originally it was Sept 9.
    -- reset network settings
What happens is that the iPad sees the network and I enter my password. But, instead of getting "check mark" indicating a successful connections it keeps "circling".  Sometimes the airport bars will show, but disappear or flicker.  It never connects with a check noted in settings.   Any attempts to use internet confirm there is no connection
My network is not a cafe or public network. It is one I regularly use here at my family's home where I am visiting
    Any ideas!

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • How do I connect via bluetooth my ipad with my Blackberry Torch

How do I connect my ipad to my blackberry torch via bluetooth.

am kinda regretting why I bought an iPad if it cannot interact with other devices, like the blackberry phone I have. I want to share pictures between the two devices but I cannot! Why is this so??????
iOS does not support file transfer via Bluetooth. If you want to transfer photos, you'll need to sync through your computer or use a cloud-based service.
Please help me otherwise this will be the last iPad I'll ever own.
If you think some other device will suit you better, by all means sell your iPad and buy that other device.
BTW, posting in a thread that's over two and half years old is not usually the best way to get help from us, who are all just your fellow users, just FYI.

  • Bluetooth between iPad mini retina and iPhone 5

    Hi All.

I Have restored both my devices through iTunes and set up as new devices but I am still unable to pair together. This is stopping my from tethering my iPad to my iPhone.

Well, there is no apple here, take it back to where you bought it.

  • Bluetooth connection ipad ios 8.1 with imac os x 10.6

I have an iMac running OS X 10.6.8 snow leopard and an iPad that I have just upgraded to iOS 8.1.
Previously I have been able to sync the 2 through bluetooth with iTunes (the computer does not support iCloud).  Since upgrading my iPad this month the bluetooth connection no longer works.
My ipad gives me the message that my iMac 'is not supported'.
    Can anyone help?

IOS 8.1 and Yosemite are apparently all about the cloud ...
You may find some help by going to the web page ASK.Com  and keying in the following query
    Bluetooth devices slowing Yosemite
It brings up some articles and other support sites the mention issues with Blue Tooth  (you may want to change Yosemite to IOS 8 and see what happens.
(I don't care for google etc.  Ask.com always brings up a better set of sites.)

  • File transfer via bluetooth on iPad

So I have an iPhone 3GS and an iPad 2, both have iOS 5.0.1 installed.
I was wondering if it were possible to transfer pictures from my iPhone to my iPad through the bluetooth connection.
Or is there some other quick way to this?

If you are just doing pictures, there are some apps availalbe, but as meg says, they are slow and i have found at least one to be unreliable to the point of uselessness.  So if you decide that you want one, read thr reviews carefully.
If you are commonly within a wifi area, consider an app called photosync, which works very well between devices and the computer.    Pictures only. But almost idiot proof.

  • How many paired and active devices will bluetooth on IPad 3 support at a time ?

How many (Paired and Active devices) will Bluetooth on the Ipad 3 sopport at a time?

Actually that is not quite true. Bluetooth is limited to one connection per device profile. That is to say you cannot have two bluetooth headsets actively connected at the same time, but you could have a bluetooth headset and a heart rate monitor, as the hrt monitor and the headset would be using different profiles.
