  • Windows 8 installation - Upgrade Assistant compatibility Issue - Bluetooth Win7 Suite

Having procured an on-line download of Windows 8, from the Microsoft web site, I am a little concerned about an incompatibility identified by the Microsoft
     Upgrade Assistant; namely:-
     "Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64) - Atheros Communications"
This incompatibility was identified after restoration of an original copy of the Windows 7 operating system, as installed by the manufacturer of my PC! (Recovered from an Acronis image).
That is, the operating system, prior to installation of any personal software, or external hardware, or divers!
Hence, I can only assume, that "Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64)" is a sub component of one of the original components of the computer:
    ASUS P8Z68-V LE Motherboard
NVIDIA Quadro 600 1024MB Professional Video Card
    Intel  i7 2600K Processor (3.4 GHz - no over-clocking)
    16GB Corsair PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3 Memory (4x4 GB sticks)
    Qty 2 Sony 24x DVD-RW drives
Qty 2 120GB Corsair Force 3 SSD (No Raid)
    Qty 1 1000GB 7200 HDD
    Onboard High Definition Audio
My plan was to perform a clean installation of Windows 8, but I have no understanding what the implications of this incompatibility will be!
Namely, what the function of  Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64), is! And what hardware it is associated with!
Whether a clean installation will work, without  Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64)
Whether Windows 8 install will have onboard drivers, for all of the above hardware!
After installation of Windows 8, and installation of the manufactures latest drivers, for the Motherboard and Video Card, will I have to search elsewhere
for a driver for the Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64)
I would appreciate any advice on this matter!
    Brian

    Hi,
Based on my research, it seems that Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64) is a program developed by Atheros Communications.
So, do you have any Bluetooth device? Did you install it?
Please also check if it lists in Programs and Features.
However, if you do not have any Bluetooth device or you do not use this program, in my opinion, it will not affect the installation of Windows 8.
    Hope this helps.

  • 3720 Classic and bluetooth PC Suite connection

Hello, I'm having problems setting up the bluetooth connection with a 3720 phone. PC Suite is updated to the latest version, and everything is working fine on the same PC with my old 5500 Sport.
When making the new connection, it's not asking to verify the usual 123 code by entering it on the phone, a separate window is popping up with a random code (looks like 123 456) and the same code is shown on the phone. If I click OK and authorize on the phone, the PC is added to the paired devices list.
But it seems like PC Suite is still waiting to verify the 123 and it's saying that it's not able to connect to the phone.
    How can I solve this?

Excuse the thread bump but I am also interested in the workaround, as I am facing the exact same problem. Nokia PC Suite doesn't work with the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack (for XP 64 or 32 - I happen to use the 64bit versions) and the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack is essential for all Logitech bluetooth devices to connect to the pc. Microsoft's bluetooth stack does not work with Logitech products. So I'm stuck with WIDCOMM.

  • Bluetooth PC Suite and XP 64

I wanna make a request. I can make a request? Here's my request
bluetooth for my computer. First of look at the list below:
Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit editions:
    * Microsoft Windows Bluetooth stack
    * WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack, driver version 6.x
    * Toshiba Bluetooth stack, driver version 5.10.12
    * IVT BlueSoleil Bluetooth stack, driver version 5.0.5
    Windows XP x64:
    * Microsoft Windows Bluetooth stack
    * Toshiba Bluetooth stack, driver version 5.10.12
    * IVT BlueSoleil Bluetooth stack, driver version 5.0.5
    Windows XP:
    * Microsoft Windows Bluetooth stack
    * Toshiba Bluetooth stack, driver version 4.0, 5.0 and 5.10.12
    * WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack, driver version 1.4.2.18, 3.x, 4.x and 5.x
    * IVT BlueSoleil Bluetooth stack, driver version 2.x, 3.x and 5.0.5
Can you see what the missing link is? WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack, driver version 1.4.2.18, 3.x, 4.x and 5.x isn't for xp 64 bit. The one and only bluetooth I happen to be using with my Logitech diNovo Media Desktop keyboard isn't available for PC Suite. Not surprised really I should have seen this coming. I can however transfer files threw my n80ie but that's about it.
I did try to use this Microsoft Bluetooth stack but that doesn't work with the keyboard, media pad, and mouse at all. So I ask PC Suite ("them") to add Widcomm stack (all version) to the next update for xp 64 bit. I also hope you get all the windows error report I end up sending now and again. Oh and when you do up date from 7.0.7.0 let me know.

  • NI VST Compatibility with RF Measurement Suits and toolkits

    Dear all
I Hope this message finds you all well
I need to know more about the compatibility of NI Vector Signal Transceivers (VST) with the available RF Measurement Suits.
The below information is what I have gathered so far , since there is no compatibility chart available to help :
NI WiMAX Measurement suit (Not Compatible with VST):
In the Datasheet , It is mentioned that the compatibile hardware is
RF vector signal generators  : NI PXIe-5673 and NI PXIe-5673E
RF vector signal analyzers : NI PXIe-5663  and NI PXIe-5663E )
NI GSM/EDGE measurement Suit : (Compatible with VST).
NI WCDMA/HSPA+ Measurement Suit  : (Compatible with VST)
NI LTE Measurement Suit : (Compatible with VST)
In the Datasheet of all the 3 measurment suits (they are only one Measurement suit called NI Cellular High performance Test system) , it is mentioned that they are compatible with the NI VST Hardware
NI Wireless LAN Measurment Suit : (Compatible with VST)
In The Datasheet of the WLAN Measurement Suit , the VST is mentioned as a compatible hardware.
NI Bluetooth Measurement Suit : (Not Compatible with VST)
In it's Datasheet , it is mentioned that "The NI Bluetooth Measurement Suite is a software-defined approach to Bluetooth testing. With this solution, you can generate and acquire Bluetooth signals using vector signal generators (VSGs) and vector signal analyzers (VSAs)." , No VST was mentioned
NI GNSS Toolkit : (Not Compatible with VST)
In it's catalog page , nothing is mentioned but the NI PXIe-5672 RF Vector Signal Generator
Kindly I need confirmation about the above data , since I am not sure about it . in addition , some white papers are mentioning that the VSTs can be used with the RFSG and RFSA APIs , does that mean that the Measurement suits and toolkits supporting RFSA and RFSGs only will work on the VSTs as well ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mohammed,
I've spoken with R&D and determined that the NI Bluetooth Measurement Suite is VST compatible.  The NI GNSS Toolkit is also VST compatible, but only through the VST Instrument Design Library and not through the NI-RFSG driver.  The NI WiMAX Measurement Suite is not VST compatible.
    Hopefully this information is helpful!

  • 6310i - PC Suite 4.88 - no Digianswer

I have a dell inspiron 6000 PC with integral Dell Truemobile Bluetooth Module 350 XPS/9300/9200/6000.
i have installed ver 4.88 of PC suite. I can connect via bluetooth for about 2 seconds then connection drops before i can even start the PC suite.
i cannot find any info on or a copy of Digianswer Bluetooth Software Suite. Is that what is causing my problem and is there anything else anyone can suggest please.
I dont have IR or a cable.
My OS is XP Professional ver 2002 Service Pack 2
Dell Bluetooth management software by Toshiba

    Hi adnanranaus
It seems that there is claimed 6310i Bluetooth compatibility with PC Suite v7.0 here albeit with reduced functionality, but that may be optimistic: http://europe.nokia.com/A4678148

  • Outlook / PC Sync Contacts List

Nokia 6681 sync with Outlook 2003 via Bluetooth, PC Suite 6.70.22, on PC with Windows XP SP2.
If I add a contact in Outlook 2003 and then sync, the new contact does not show in the Contact Browser in PC Suite. However, the contact does show up on the Contact list in the phone itself. Therefore, the Contact Browser does not reflect the full list of contacts, either in Outlook or on the phone itself. Can anyone help me in determining why?
Alternatively, if I enter the new contact directly into the Contact Browser, and then sync, the contact will then show up in Outlook. However, if I later make any edits to the contact in Outlook, the changes will not be reflected in Contact Browser, but will show up on the phone itself.
If I delete the contact in Phone Browser, and then sync, the contact will not be deleted in Outlook. Instead, I would have to make the deletion directly in Outlook, as well as in Phone Browser. Again any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help, but your suggestion to update the contacts using the Phone icon in the Phone Browser does not solve the problem.
I can sync in both directions between Outlook 2003 and the 6681 itself, so no problem here.
However, I can sync in only one direction between the Phone Browser (Contacts View) and the 6681; ie, if I enter a contact into the Browser, it will show up on the phone. However,if I enter a contact into the phone itself, it will not show up on the Browser after syncing.
And, I cannot sync in either direction between Outlook and the Browser.
Please note that I have the sync direction set as Update in Both Directions, and under conflict resolution, I have selected Outlook.
Any further suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Booklet 3g

note to moderator-  there should be a forum made of the booklet 3g now as well to seperate from the clutter.
anyone else using a booklet 3g yet?
i have been using it for about a week now and am having huge slowing issues with only haveing a few product running.
the ram is constantly at 90+% usage, and that is keeping the unit slow.
i have even put in a 16gb sd card to use the readyboost, however, that does not add to the ram....
any ideas for getting this unit to somehow extend its ram capabilities so that it will run to its abililty?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    yes.  thanks for the links.
i installed homoe premium after deleting the f-secure and before installing anything else.
i am sure that if i left the starter version on the laptop that starter did not require as much RAM to run, but i like the aero effects and they are quite usefull rather then just showing links like the the starter version.
i actually have ordered a high speed 32 GB sd card for the ready boost and to extend the memory of the laptop for swapping files later.
with the 32bit win7, we are supposed to be able to get up to 256gb on the readyboost ability so long as it is formated to exFAT and it will support adding ready boost on up to 8 diferent units at a time.
i have noticed, not immediately, a slight speed up after a few days of the using the ready boost, as it has to start caching what i use in order to work effectvely, but i do not see how there are so many people that say there was an immediate and drastic response on thier pc/laptops with readyboost?!
as for what is running constantly on my booklet - outlook, task manager, 1 gadget which shows my ram and cpu usage, bluetooth, pc suite, IE - and the lowest that my ram usage gets is 87%!!!  so it is constantly running between 87-98%

  • Multiple problems with PC Suite 6.80 and bluetooth

After several frustrating hours with a spiral of problems, I hope someone can see a way to get this (rubbish) PC Suite software working with my 6230i phone. - System is XP SP2 on a Dell Inspiron 8600 with bluetooth built in. - Syncing with Lotus Notes 6.5 - PC Suite version I'm attempting to get working is 6.80.22 (latest as of 9/6/2006) Started with PC Suite 4.88 installed (for a 6310i phone - was trying to find a way to move contacts). This software however, had stopped working for this phone.... Day 1 - Installed PC Suite 6.8.22 (as well as 4.88) and after while got this working (sort of) - at least I got the Sync function to work OK (not the contacts list however for example) Day 2 - updated an address on PC and on phone and tried to Sync - alwasy just sat there trying to connect - nothing has changed since yesterday. (selected two way updated in advanced properties) (several hours of wasted life on a sunny evening later) Read all the stuff on this board I could and decided that problem might be because the System Info showed that I had Widcomm and Microsoft bluetooth installed. So: 1. uninstalled 4.88 version 2. Didn't read instructions carefully enough so didn't uninstall 6.80.22 3. ran the Nokia PC Suite Cleaner 3.3 (selected Other - said Yes to deleting .exe, no to deleting .dll's - wouldn't have got this if 6.80.22 was uninstalled) 4. installed 6.80.22 - tried 3 times and kept getting an error about missing components in the .msi file. Downloaded new copy, reinstall - same message, try once more, suddenly install works without error! 5. Try to connect to phone - now get error saying "no available connection type" - i.e bluetooth not working. - check System Info - "no supported bluetooth Stack" is listed. (Had both Widcomm and MS before) - check I CAN connect to the phone using e.g. bluetooth icon on and using say the "Audio gateway" function - so bluetooth IS installed OK - just PC Suite doesn't recognise. 6. Uninstalled PC Suite 6.80.22 7. Ran Nokia PC Suite Cleaner 3.3, selecting "other" 8. Install PC Suite 6.80.22 9. Try to connect - exactly the same problem as before. 10. Try to activate MS bluetooth - using CP-> System-> hardware-> device manager-> bluetooth devices-> properties -> driver -> update driver as suggested elsewhere but find that after “bluetooth devices” I have to select “Dell TrueMobile Bluetooth Module” befpre driver-> update driver (which tells me that it is updated – though at least twice before I have found newer drivers after being given this message) 11. Go to bed after 6 wasted hours. (sorry if there is no formatting in this - there was when I typed it, but the preview shows none and I can't seem to add any spaces, lines etc) Thanks Andrew

    Hi Manta
After a downward spiral where the BT stopped working at some point during an install/uninstall, so i tried to follow some of the guides to sort out removing Microsoft BT and only having Widcomm - however at almost every turn there were problems, error messages not anticipated etc. to the point where nothing worked....
Eventually thought to go back to a XP restore point which got the BT working again. (Microsoft and Widcomm drivers are both installed as before).
Then had to run PC suite 4.88 to remove (kept getting error messgaes by doing it from add/remove in ctrl panel) and then had to reinstall PC suite 6.80-22 and removing it also gave unanticipated error messages.
Did as you suggest and ran the cleaner through every stage (requiring 4 or so "installs" of this software and 3 reboots if you do as the software tells you..)
Reinstalled and it almost seems to work as well as it did when I first installed it - apart from now I can't sync my calendar - get a message about the server being down even though it clearly isn't as I can use my email and calender though the Notes client without a problem...
    Dodgy PC suite software again??
(I've also noticed that if you have tried to sync and it fails and then you try again, it pretends to have done a sync but in fact as long as the fail message is on the phone screen this will lock it out from another sync function...though this is not clear on the PC)
If you or anyone else has any idea about the server connection failure message I'd appreciate hearing about it - and I'll go and have a look throught the boards to see if anyone else has seen this.

  • PC Suite stops working with Bluetooth after Laptop...

I use PC Suite and Bluetooth to connect to my Phone. I use the Synchronise, and the Messages feature a great deal. It all works great after a reboot, and I think it's a real credit to Nokia that they provide this free and improve their standing compared to other manufacturers.
However, the latest versions of PC Suite have taken a backward step in hardware compatibility. Previously, no matter what state my laptop was in - ie rebooted, returned from hibernate or standby, the laptop would connect to my phone over Bluetooth, and synchronizing would happen. When my phone went out of range, the connection would drop, and when it came back into range, the connection would re-establish and synchronizing would start again - wonderful!
Now, this only works after clean reboot, and after I have manually clicked on "Get Connected". After my laptop returns from standby, if I try "Get Connected" I get the error:
"Cannot use the connection type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available. (Code: OpenMedia)"
To get PC Suite working with Bluetooth after returning from standby I run a Repair, after which it works beautifully.
Is this a known fault? I have uninstalled and re-installed PC Suite and the BT Stack as recommended in other posts to solve other issues. My configuration is:
    Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP
    Nokia PC Suite: Version 6.82.22.0
Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba v4.00.23(D) SP2
    Bluetooth Specification: Version 2.0, 1.2, 1.1
    Many thanks...

Thanks for your response Miksu. You have pointed me to the right place. It is the connection manager that fails to recognise the BT stack that causes my problems. This is always resolved by a repair. It seems that the order of initiation is very important which may be why Luist has started to have the problem.
In my experience, once things stop to work, I've had to strip out any subsequent installs.
My PCSuite also stopped working after it installed cable connection manager (or something like that) without me asking. I found it in Control Panel->Add/Remove programs. I removed it and PC Suite started to work again, so I completely removed PC Suite then re-installed, and allowed it to add the relevant devices relating to my phone (about 4 devices alltogether) but alas this did not solve my "return from standby" issue. I think I need to remove PC Suite and then Bluetooth, and maybe something else before re-installing - I'll leave that for a rainy day.
    Thanks again Miksu

  • PC Suite 6.8 - no bluetooth option!

    Hi All,
I got my new 6021 from work this week and decided the best way to get all my contact information onto the shiny little thing would be through bluetooth and pc suite... not as easy as I thought it would be!
    1. First stop nokia website and download PC Suite 6.8.
    2. Install bluetooth dongle and software (IVT Bluesoleil 2.1.2.0 stack)
    3. Reboot
    4. Install PC Suite
    5. Start up PC Suite, get connected... STOP! No bluetooth choice!!
Since then I have uninstalled, reinstalled and rebooted in every possible combination but still no luck, I've never once been given the bluetooth option.
After reading on here about the supported release of Bluesoleil at 1.6.1.4 I uninstalled everything and started again with that release. Same problem...
I'm really stuck now, what can I do?
I'm running Windows 2000 SP4 and really don't want to revert to cables...
Any help and ideas appreciated. Cheers!
    Mike

    Hi Manta,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm pretty sure I've tried this already having read it somewhere, but tried again this morning and unfortunately it has made no difference...
    I'm really really confused now...
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • PC Suite Upgrade has disabled my bluetooth connect...

    Hello!
After using an older version of Nokia PC Suite that came with my model 6233 phone, I decided to upgrade to 6.82.22.0. The older version worked via Bluetooth without any trouble. With the new version, I can no longer make a Bluetooth connection to my phone.
Using the PC (running Windows XP Prof.) Bluetooth connectivity software, I can see and interact with my phone. (I am using an Acer USB Bluetooth device).
When I completly delete all pairings and pair via the Nokia PC Suite software, I can get to the point at which a pairing code must be entered. Upon entering the code and accepting via the phone. . .nothing happens. The button labeled 'next' remains gray and after waiting 20 minutes I am forced to 'cancel'. When I go back to try the process again, the phone is no longer visible. (Via the PC software, yes, but via the Nokia software, no.)
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

I used "Add/Remove Programmes" in Control Panel. It might also be the "Cable Connectivity solution" that Software updater installs. so I uninstalled that - but that broke my cable connection, so I could be wrong.... Either way, I'm now able to connect via Bluetooth which is the main thing.

  • Bluetooth no more working with latest OVI suite

Since I install latest OVI suite it seems my bluetooth stop working correctly and I cannot sync.
however the radio seels OK, since I can pair.
I've tried to unpai, repair, to clean.
sometimes it works but afer the first disconnection, it no more works.
my PC is XP family with Bluesoleil 2 (and CSR chip)
I could not test on my work PC with widdcomm since OVI crash at startup.
should I step back to PC suite, until OVI works, or will it be worse?

I have also tested with an airoblue bluetooth key (kensington driver) that use
    WIDDCOMM drivers.
it was not working well with 4.x version of WIDDCOMM, unable to synchronize with OVI(however could backup!)
I have installed the latest 5.x WIDDCOMM of kensington and is does not work either, with the same symptoms as Bluesoleil 2.x, and WIDDCOMM4.x : it seems to work but synchronize is slow and break in the middle.
works well with microsoft generic driver and my cambridge silicon radio key.
note that is was working well with the 2 keys, and their Bluesolei and widdcomm drivers since years.
