Bluetooth printing from iPad to Macbook Pro connected to printer?

Is it possible to print wirelessly from my iPad if i connect my iPad to my Macbook Pro via Bluetooth? What if the Macbook is connected to the printer with a  USB cable? Because the printer I am getting may not be discoverable via AirPrint because of my WiFi network, I'm wondering if I work around this issue.
W.J.V.
iPad (3rd Gen.), iOS 7.1.1
OS 10.9.3 - Mavericks, most recent NON-retina-display Macbook Pro, 13-inch, Mid 2012

Thanks for the great (& fast) response! Just one question: with the Genie app, will I have to find my computer with my iPad on the network? At looks like I will have to do that, and I am not certain that my network will allow me to even connect my computer to my iPad via WiFi. (I live on a university campus, and I am reaching to IT to see if there is just something wrong.) the printer I am getting is AirPrint-compatible. I am just unable to use any device to locate any other device when I am on the same university-based network anywhere on campus.

You can use the desktop version of iTunes app to transfer PDF files between your iPad and MacBook Pro.
Please take a look at the following FAQ document.

Please let us know if you have any questions about the steps that are described in the document.
Alternatively, if you use Acrobat.com (cloud storage), you can upload/save all of your PDF files on Acrobat.com and access them from your new iPad.

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPhone, or iPad.
With the iPad connected, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select transfer purchases from - the name of your iPad.

  • HT4437 Can't stream from iPad or Macbook Pro to Apple TV

I can't stream video or audio from my Macbook Pro or iPad to Apple TV. It used to work but I haven't used Apple TV with my iPad or Macbook for several months. Software for the Macbook Pro, Apple TV and iPad is current and all 3 devices are logged onto the same WiFi. Home Sharing is enabled. All 3 devices are logged into iTunes with the same Apple ID. Airplay does not appear in Control Center on my iPad and I do not get the Airplay symbol on the computer or iPad when using iTunes or any other app. I tried restarting the Apple TV and even restoring factory defaults. What am I missing?

  • Can't import purchased music from iPad to MacBook Pro's iTunes

I bought and downloaded classical music albums to my MacBook Pro's iTunes.  They have also apparently been automatically synced onto my iPad's iTunes.  Then I purchased and downloaded successfully four classical albums to iPad's iTunes.  But when I manually synced the iPad's iTunes with the Mac's iTunes, only one of the four paid albums was fully transferred so it can be played from the MacBook Pro's iTunes.  The other three albums only show notices in Mac Book Pro's iTunes that they are "purchased", but there are no digital files that can produce sound.  How can I get the digital music files of these purchased albums to be downloaded onto the MacBook Pro's iTunes so they can be played there?

Yes you can. Connect your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, select your device on the left side, right click on the name of your iPad and you can select transfer purchases.
You must authorize your computer as well in iTunes from the menu at the top under Store.

  • How can I stop my bluetooth keyboard from crashing my macbook pro???

I have a bluetooth keyboard I use at my desk. Often, I'll pack my macbook pro and use it away from home. When I bring it back, what often happens as soon as I hit a key or two on the bluetooth keyboard, causing it to wake up and re-establish its connection with the macbook, is the macbook immediately freezes up and crashes.
When it does this, a gray tint will make its way across the screen, starting from the top and working downward. Before it reaches about halfway (how far it gets seems to vary) it will freeze completely and I am forced to do a hard reset.
Is this a known issue? Is there a known fix? It's been happening for a while now.

Well, Charles, since no one else is taking a stab ... have ya checked your prefs in System Preferences > Hardware > Bluetooth > Advanced? "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" is enabled? Must be, already; nevermind ...
Have you taken a peek at the output from running Applications > Utilities > Console.app > > LOG DATABASE QUERIES > Console messages? And, the ever-popular > LOG FILES > `/Library/Logs > CrashReporter? For you to have the Descending Grey Wall of Death ... the DGWoD is really creepy ( I have seen it, on the hoof, twice!), especially if it is repeatable (check the definition of insanity, as you say this has been going on for a while). Check your Console and see what is happening, and please post back: this will be so fixable! Aloha and have a great weekend!

  • How do i transfer photos from ipad to MacBook Pro about 100

After update to yosemite i have about 150 photos that are on my ipad and not on MacBook Pro.  Is there a way to sync the photos from ipad to computer

I did sync thro iTunes so will have to import them where i can find them...yuck
The synced photos should be in an album in the "Albums" tab of your iPod.
As long as you did not transfer  the synced photos to your computer do on no account activate "iCloud Photo Library Beta" on your iPad. That will wipe all synced photos from the iPad.
You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device:
Email them from the device to yourself.
Copy them from the emails to your computer.

  • How do I transfer video from ipad to macbook pro

How do I transfer video from my iPad to my MacBook Pro?

    Hi MeSwolf,
You can do it wirelessly with Dropbox. The Dropbox app has a very cool auto-upload process that will automatically upload photos and videos from the iPad Camera Roll to Dropbox.
First sign up for a free Dropbox account from your computer.
Then, download the free Dropbox app on your iPad.
Log in to the Dropbox app on the iPad with your new account and click on the Photos icon in the lower left corner of the screen (second one from the left).
Select "Enable Camera Upload" and "Only Wi-Fi." The upload process will begin for all existing photos and videos in the Camera Roll.
From now on, all future photos and videos taken by the iPad will automatically upload to the Dropbox folder. You can then download your photos from Dropbox to your computer by going tohttp://www.dropbox.com, logging in to your account, and downloading the photos and videos.
    Hope this helps!

  • Transfer photos from iPad to Macbook Pro??

    Hi All,
My daughter has an iPad which I want to download some of the images off to my MBP.
    - I have tried turning on Airdrop and can't see the iPad.
    - I have tried using 'Image Capture' which sees the iPad but none of the images on it.
    (See images attached).
What is the easiest way to transfer photos from an iPad to MBP assuming I don't want to Sync the iPad to the MBP? (Just transfer them).
    Macbook Pro 15" - 10.9.5 (Mavericks).
    iPad - iPad Air 5th gen 64GB
    Thanks in Advance.
    Matt.

Just a thought, but based on the fact that Image Capture and iPhoto did not see any of the images, that leads me to beleive that the images that you are trying to transfer are not in the camera roll on her iPad. You can only import images to iPhoto and Image Capture if the images are in the camera roll album on her iPad. If the images are in Photo Stream, she can save them to the camer roll and then you can import them.mAynced photos cannot be imported using this method.
If the images were synced to her iPad from another computer, you can use a WiFi transfer app to move the images from her iPad to your Mac. I use this one.

DropBox would be another way to transfer photos from her iPad to your Mac.

  • Transfer from iPad to Macbook pro

Hello, I use to have a pc and it died, i bought a macbook pro and i would now like to transfer everything i have on my iPad (music, photos, etc ) onto my macbook but i don't know how to and my old computer is completely dead i can't get it to turn on, so i can't have access to my old files.
Does any one has had this problem before ? I synchronised my ipad with the new itunes library, but only the things i bought via itunes store were transfered
is there any way i could retrieve all my music and pictures ?
    Thank you for your help

The iTunes content sync is one-way: computer to device. Apple makes no provision to extract synced content from your iPad. While you can "transfer" purchased content, non-iTunes purchased content & photos synced to your iPad require third-party software to extract from your iPad:

  • HT201302 Transfer FOLDERS of photos from ipad to macbook pro.

    Hello,
I have spent hours creating folders of photos on my ipad.
Now I want to transfer these folders of photos from my ipad to my macbook pro.
However, it seems that my macbook pro will only transfer the photos (as individual photos) from my ipad, BUT NOT the organized folders of photos that live on my ipad.
Has anyone made this folder transfer successfully?
    Any help?
    Thanks.

  • Kindle books from ipad to macbook pro where are you?

i was syncing my ipad to my macbook pro and it asked if i wanted to send purchases to the computer.  i said yes and all the books i purchased from apple showed up in my itunes library but all the kindle books i had bought on my ipad through amazon disappeared along with Skype, some Newstand items and games I had purchased.  did apple seriously hijack my stuff?

Kindle books are linked to your Amazon account, and don't copy over to iTunes on your computer (mine never have anyway). If you want them on your computer then you can download the Kindle for Mac program and download them in that.
Apps/games that you've bought from Apple can be re-downloaded for free

  • How to transfer music from iPad to MacBook Pro?

I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro and would like to copy the music library from my ipad onto the MacBook. Can anyone advise me please on how to go about it, as I struggle. Many thanks.

    There are two ways:.
    1. A Sync will do it. If it does not work for you, check the various tabs in iTunes and confirm that the appropriate boxes are checked. You can decide which apps, music and videos will be transferred.
    2. Use Vibosoft iPad/iPhone/iPod to Mac transfer app
Vibosoft iPad to mac transfer program can copy everything from iPhone,iPad, ipod to computer for backup, I used it for long time, really powerful and worth a recommend! there are so many similar software like: Coolmuster iPad to computer transfer, iStonsoft,
