Bluetooth Printing to Pixma MP620

Just bought a new Macbook and a Canon Pixma MP620 with a bluetooth adapter. I was able to install the drivers and configure the Bluetooth so that the Macbook sees the printer. However, when I try to print, I can see the adapter flash several times, then nothing. I get a 311 error that says the printer is either in use, or an error has occurred (DUH!!). For grins, I loaded the printer driver on two Windows laptops I have with Bluetooth adapters. They both print to printer just fine. Any ideas why the Mac won't print?

The Canon supplied driver will work with the machine when connected via Bluetooth.
But you need to ensure you have the correct model of adapter. I found that there was two models of Canon Bluetooth adapters; the BU-20 and the BU-30. I had the BU-20 for a previous model and fitted this to my MP970 thinking it would work. However, while I was able to add the printer, I was not able to print to it (I cannot remember if there was an error code appearing). After I checked with Canon support, I learnt that I needed the BU-30 for my model. After purchasing the BU-30 then creating a new queue, I was able to print.
I also remember having some trouble with adding the printer using Print & Fax > Add printer function. I recommend using the Bluetooth > Setup Bluetooth device option to add the printer queue.

  • Printer Canon Pixma MP620, Wifi problem

I have a new Canon Pixma printer mp620 (USB / LAN / wifi)
I can not get the printer with the wifi ?
It works well with USB cable directly on the iMac!
This printer is used in a wireless network with a Windows XP computer with a wireless modem router USRobotics
What is wrong with the iMac ?
Tips: the printer works well in wireless with the PC WinXP
Canon doesn't propose new driver on www.canon.com !
    Thank you in advance ...

If you want to connect to the MP620 via wireless, then the instructions are stating that you need to have your wireless access point (the wireless router) ready and you need to know some information about the router, such as its SSID (its name) and any password you will need to connect to it.
The setup is pretty easy. It's just the manual tries to cover too many options.
First you must have the printer driver installed and be connected to it via USB. This is so you can communicate with the printer to configure the network (LAN) settings.
With the printer appearing in the Printer list, you can open the printer queue and select Utility. From the new window, select the Printer shown as a USB device and click the Network tab. This will guide you through connecting it to your wireless network. This is where you need to know your access point information. Once the printer is connected to your wireless network, you will be prompted to turn off the machine and then unplug the USB cable. When you turn the printer back on, you can then add the printer queue again, this time for the network connection. As others have said above, select to Add then select More Printers > Canon IJ Network. The MP620 should appear in the list, which you select and then click Add. Now you are ready to print...

  • Print from my ipad to my CANON PIXMA MP620 wireless printer?

Is there any way to print from my ipad to my CANON PIXMA MP620 printer configured as a wireless printer?  I see several apps in the app store (e.g., "CANON Easy Photo Print"), but the MP620 doesn't show up on the list of printers supported by the app.

See if Canon has an app to print to you or use a 3rd party solution like Print Central or Printopia.

    Hello zenjoo,
For testing purposes, please try printing a new nozzle check pattern and compare the results with the image that has been attached.  If the pattern prints incorrectly, 2-3 cleanings may have to be done.

  • Bluetooth printing to Canon MP610, Help!!!

I have the Canon MP 610 printer and I have bought the bluetooth adaptor that was recommended from the Canon website. I can get my MacBook to recognize the printer but I cannot get it to connect. I get an error message that says there are no configurable services found on your device. This could be due to services not being enabled on the device, or the device might not have any services that need to be configured with the computer. See the docmentation that came with your device for more information. This helps me none because I have all my Canon instruction booklets and nothing tells me anything about how to get bluetooth printing, eventhough it has the capability. Anyone know how to fix this?

    Good morning everyone,
I had experienced the same symptoms with a new MacBook Air and PIXMA iP100 printer via Bluetooth printing, (Air found the printer, created a new printer device, but failed to print, produced Error message 311), and found the following solution to be successful:
Install the Canon non-CUPS driver version 7.3.2 (posted on Canon's support page for iP100 downloads), restart, and configure a new Bluetooth printer device from within the Print & Fax System Preferences selecting the "Canon IJ printer driver" - not the "Canon iP100 series" driver. It was as simple as that.
Installing the non-CUPS 7.3.2 driver does not overwrite the 10.1.0 iP100 series CUPS driver. You will still be able to configure separate USB-wired and Bluetooth-enabled devices, using each of the drivers for the appropriate use.
And, (as Steve Jobs might say), " just one more thing..."
This solution worked with either very reasonably-priced Belkin or D-Link USB bluetooth adapters, so I suspect other generic Bluetooth adapters should suffice as well; there's no need to pay a premium price to obtain great results. Printing is also fast: it took 2 seconds to spool and 5 seconds to print a NeoOffice 1-page document with text and graphics. Not too shabby for the Bluetooth protocol.
Hope this helps soothe some of that frustration out there...
    Best of luck& best regards,
    Marc

  • HP Officejet100 Mobile L411a intermittent Bluetooth printing problems with PDF files

    Hello,
Our company provides computer-hosted medical devices controlled by an application running on Windows7 computers we supply. We are currently using the HP Officejet 100 as a Bluetooth printer. In some of our customer offices, we experience printing problems using the printer in Bluetooth mode (there are never problems if the printer is connected by a USB cable.)
The printing problems typically affect PDF files printed through Adobe Reader 10, and the symptom is one of the following:
Send a print job to the printer. It doesn't print and eventually the print queue shows an "Error Printing" message. If any print jobs are removed and the printer is power-cycled, the problem goes away for the time being.
    2.  Same as above but power-cycling does not cure the problem and nothing will print, even a test page.
In either of these cases there are no problems if a USB cable is used.
The PDF files we are trying to print are typically 5 pages with 3 of the pages having a lot of graphics and the remainder being text only.
Has anyone seen this behavior and is there anything we can do about it?
    Thanks.

I don't anything about this printer, but I do know that bluetooth is really flaky with large files since it's got a crappy transfer rate, could be that the transfer is dropping and freezing the printer up. Does it have encryption turned on?

  • HT4356 Can I print a pdf document on my iPhone to a bluetooth printer that is not AirPrint capable

I have the HP OfficeJet 100 portable printer with Bluetooth and it is NOT a model with AirPrint. From what I've found, I should be able to print a docuement using my iPhone but would need some print software. I cannot figure out what software they're talking about and cannot find anything on the HP or Apple sites.

bluetooth is just an usb cable just wireless
a driver is still required to print on a bluetooth printer
ios don't have drivers in that respect and can't of cause ever ever use windows or osx drivers
there are 2 options you have
    1. if hp's free printing app in app store (assuming they have one) can do it
    2. if you install netgear genie in a computer it will make all printers the computer have access to become airprint printers in the eyes of IOS of cause the computer have to be turned on when you print
even though it's netgear who make the app one is not required to use a netgear router or the likes

  • Canon MP 600 Bluetooth printing...

    Hello,
The Canon MP600 simply will not print via Blueooth for me. I can control the device in Printer Setup Utility via BT. I can print via USB as well. I simply cannot work out how to get the infernal thing to print via BT.
I am certain I am missing something really simple and obvious. Am I ?
    Thanks in advance
    Ian

    Hi Ian,
It was suggested that I respond to you because I can print via my Canon MP600. All I did is plug in the printer. The only thing I can think of that you may not have done is that perhaps your Canon is mislabeled. This is what I would try: Go to Canon's website and under support you can get instructions on how to re-install all the drivers after you delete them. Do that. Then, when you plug in the printer anew, name it with the place you are trying to use it in parenthesis, e.g. Canon MP600 (Airport) or Canon MP600 (USB) or Canon MP600 (Bluetooth). It seems that the printer needs to be added as many times as places you want to use it. I have it listed twice (Airport & Bluetooth). Then I made sure that the bluetooth setup is set to recognize the (Bluetooth) printer. I have no problems printing via airport or via bluetooth.
Lastly, I spoke with Canon, and they agree that this printer is unable to ever do anything other than print via airport & bluetooth. If you want a wireless printer, they suggest the Canon MP800R. I'm going to look into that option.
    I hope this was helpful.
    Cheers,
    Spencer

  • Problem with printing to a Bluetooth printer from T60p

    Hello,
I have a Thinkpad T60p ( 2007-93G) and up to now I had no problem with using my HP Deskjet 460 MobilePrinter via Bluetooth. However, a few days ago I updated my "Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software" to v. 5.5.0.6400, and since then I have not been able to use the printer via Bluetooth.
I investigated the problem by opening the printer Properties panel (right-click on printer icon; down to Properties), and at the same time the printer window (double-click on printer icon). In the printer properties panel I clicked on "Print Test Page", and then observed what was happening in the printer window. The test page appeared in the printer window, stayed for some time, and then was deleted. It appears that the printer software was sending the data somewhere, but the data never arrived at the printer. It would appear the the Bluetooth printer port is not working, or is configured incorrectly. I wonder if anybody else experienced a similar problem.
    Regards,
    bostjanv

    Thanks for your reply.
I should have mentioned I am using Windows XP.
No, there are no eps graphics in the document.
Photoshop CS5 prints with no problems. I did a work-around by making a PDF and printing from that.
As I mentioned there was no problem printing from the CS4 version.
This may be a similar problem to the TWAIN problem in CS4.
    Again Thanks,
    Justin Kerr

  • Printing pictures via bluetooth to a bluetooth printer that is not online

i was wondering if iphone will be able to send a picture or file to a bluetooth printer that is not online i'm out in the field alot and need to print pictures right there i have a bluetooth printer in my van. my old phone would send via bluetooth and i could give customer the pic at that time instead of having to bring them back to the customer. please advise
    thank you
    jimski3332002

I suppose that would depend on the model of the printer, some print companies provide apps for wireless printing to certain models. But if the printer isn't online and you're looking for a BlueTooth only type of connection, it still may be a good idea to check out the app store to see if the makers of your particular printer have written an app making it possible for you to do so.

  • Wireless laptop, bluetooth printer Help please?

I was confused about the difference in a wireless laptop and how it would connect to my new bluetooth printer.   I thought wireless was the same & now I can't connect unless I have the cable plugged in between the two.
Can I get another bluetooth device to make them "talk" to each other & work without cables?

Bluetooth and the 802.11 wireless on your laptop are 2 different technologies. even though they are wireless, they communicate using different frequencies, so it wont work.
if you want to use the printer via bluetooth, you'll need a bluetooth dongle for your laptop.
btw which printer are you using?

  • How can i connect my printer canon pixma mg7150

    Hello,
I don't find the good driver for my printer CANON PIXMA MG7150, and i use a usb cable.
    Is it good ?
    Thanks

I have been setting up the same printer this week, with a USB cable  to my iMac. I have taken Mac printer drivers from the Canon site.   Here is a link that I used.
    http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/products/Fax__Multifunctionals/ InkJet/PIXMA_MG_series/PIXMA_MG7150.aspx?type=download&softwaredetailid=tcm:14-1 091005&os=OS%20X%20v10.9&language=EN
Apple have notified that they have newly updated printer drivers for this printer, which you can download if you have the other drivers in place.
    Hope this helps.

  • Slow Bluetooth Printing

I have an HP deskjet 460 with an AmbiCom Bluetooth Printer Kit which has a USB sender unit for the computer and a reciever unit that plugs into the printer. I can print from the PowerBook G4 (10.4.4) on USB cable without a problem. Switching to BT still works, only it prints at about 4 minutes per 1 page, hardly useful. This same configuaration set up on 2 different XP laptops, prints the same documents with little or no delay. The printer works, the bluetooth kit works, what am I missing on the Mac? I've looked for drivers and firmware updates to no avail. Anyone have a suggestion on what to try next?
    Thank you.

    matt
i may have! i haven't looked at this specifically but i have been trying to sort out a networking printer problem, and came across this "tip" - when you are adding your printer if you alt and click on the more printers option you get the advanced options, which include bluetooth.
that may be worth a look?
    good luck
