Bluetooth problem in ideapad s210 touch windows 8.1 and audio problem

Hi .. i have lenovo s 210
i have a problem with audio output, the sound is muted and it said that my bluetooth audio device can not be started. i download realtek High definition from the support system and the audio system start working again. But when i check the device manager the bluetooth problem still not fixed. It said i had a code 10 problem. I just recently update my windows to 8.1, but before there is no problem with the audio... and recently i find out that i can not use my bluetooth too. and all the bluetooth system seems doesn't work out
what should i do??
thanks

Actually, I solved this issue myself after a while.
I induced a system restore prior to the date when I began to experience this error.
It then happened once more, so I went to the "PC Settings" menu and selected "Update and recovery".
There were apparently updates to be installed, so I clicked "More details/information", and found that there were 3 Intel-related drivers that were listed, but for some reason, Windows 8 didn't automatically install them, so I checked each one of them and proceeded to install them and it has been smooth sailing for me ever since that.
SO.
A piece of advice for all those who have experienced the issue I detailed in my former post:
Check what updates need to be installed on your computer in the "PC Settings" app thing, and see if there are any driver-realted updates (like for your graphics card, especially).

• IdeaPad S210 Touch - Problems booting from USB

Hello,
i have a issue with the Lenovo S210 Touch. I want to install Ubuntu parallel to Windows 8.
I try to install Ubuntu from USB. There is the issue. I tried UEFI and legacy mode. In each case i prepared the USB Stick. But all i get are two reactions from the IdeaPad.
UEFI Mode = The Lenovo logo appears shortly and goes away. This reactions is happening in a loop till i disconnect the USB Stick.
Legacy Mode = The IdeaPad just freezes as soon as i insert the USB Stick and start the IdeaPad. I ll have to hard reboot the IdeaPad.
Strange thing, there is no USB Boot Option at the Boot Tab in the BIOS.
The BIOS version is the newest i could download on the lenovo page.
The USB stick is working on other machines.
Does anyone have a solution?

Hmm, that's odd. I'll go fix up the subject lines.
According to the hardware maintenance manual, F12 should do the trick. The timing window is pretty narrow, IIRC.
Another thing to try is to access the advanced startup options from within Windows 8:

• Ideapad s210 Touch - money refund

Hi,
I bought a laptop Lenovo ideapad S210 ,S/N-xxxxx Touch on 25th DEC 20112 in new Delhi India. after 1 week only i found that the audio jack is not working,i mean when i m plunging the head phones i can hear the sound from both head phones as well as from the speakers. I raised a complaint against it and your executive raised a ticket for that(Ticket no.7005866484 date -10.01.14),the other problem with this laptop is its working really slow some times, again i raised a complaint against that (ref no.206799174 date- 19.01.14) your executive asked me to install a software called Lenovo solutions and do a hardware scan,i did that but it shows there is no problem with the hard ware.
i asked your executive what should be the next step to resolve this issue he said he can't raise more than one complaint at a time so due to unavailability of the audio jack it will take another 2-4 days more to reach to me ,after that only the other problem can get resolved.
yesterday (Jan 22nd 2014)they said the audio jack will reach to me within 2-4 days, now today (Jan 23rd 2014) one guy named Prashant said it will reach by 1st of feb 2014.
this is the first time i m using LENOVO product and i must say the service you provide is very poor.I just want to refund the money.
its not been a month also i bought this system and the performance i m seeing is very poor. i need to return this system and request you to refund my money back, please do the needful.

• S210 Touch Windows USB Recovery Drive does not boot

I have an S210 Touch and I am looking to swap out the existing hard drive for an SSD. Looking to do this in a "sanctioned" way from the discussion forums i.e. create a recovery USB drive WITH the Recovery Partition and boot from it - this would be the same use case if the hard drive crashed and I want to recover to a blank replacement drive:
http://lnv.gy/Y0hlMU
which is similar to this set of official instructions:
http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht076024
There are also other official posts on creating the recovery USB drive, and pressing F12 at POST to boot from the USB drive. In the BIOS, Secure Boot is turned off and the Optimization (last tab) is set to Others.
When I try to boot from the Wndows Recovery USB drive, however, the USB drive would start, then the Lenovo logo would come on, and the process repeats itself until I pull the plug F12 does NOT work. Apparently, this symptom has been experienced by others looking to install Unbuntu, though it is happening WITH the Windows RECOVERY DRIVE.
Is there something inherently wrong with the S210 Touch that it won't boot the Windows Recovery Drive?
Being curious, I also tried a DOS (Win98) - formatted USB drive, and for some reason, IT BOOTS!!!
Some more sanity checks (Secure Boot is OFF, Optimization is Other):
1. Created a recovery drive from a working Window 8.1 machine (Retail version installed on a Dell) and attempted to boot. This time, F12 does bring up the boot screen, but USB is NOT a choice to boot from.
2. Created a recovery drive from the S210 WITHOUT the Recovery Partition - the USB Boot - Lenovo Logo cycle goes on. Perhaps there's a problem with the preinstalled copy of Windows on ALL (!!!) S210 Touch machines???

Long story short, I finally moved my Windows 8 installation to an SSD using a 3rd party product's boot CD to back up the factory hard disk to an external USB hard disk, swapped in the SSD, tthen restoring it to the SSD. Futzed around with moving / reducing / deleting unnecessary partitions so my windows partition is maximized.
Trying to get OneKey Recovery to work would be an academic exercise (in futility) as the recovery and image partitions take up valuable space on the SSD and I now have an offline backup / restore method. Now the laptop is running MUCH FASTER (8 seconds to Metro Screen) and much cooler. Now it's upgrading to Windows 8.1
The takeaways from this misadventure:
1. Booting with USB Flash Drives simply DOES NOT WORK, and I cannot tell whether the fault lies with with system tools (Microsoft) or the UEFI Firmware (Lenovo) or BOTH. I was lucky to have a USB hard drive and DVD around.
2. Dropping support from CD/DVD Recovery Disc creation from Windows 8.1 is simply taking scissors to a safety net given that booting from USB Flash Drives DO NOT WORK consistently across all hardware, especially ones running UEFI Firmware.
3. OKR is nice to have, but not mission criditical if the disk space is limited, especially if alternatives exist.
4. Windows native tools for backup and restore DO NOT WORK with this particular Lenovo model and its UEFI Firmware. I'm pretty sure it doesn't work others from Lenovo or other major brands. Value Added tools like OKR do not restore on Bare Metal.
5. SSDs absolutely ROCK, and the trade-off between speed and storage is well worth it, especially now that storage can be offloaded on to NASs or the cloud. No mechanical storage issues to worry about (had 2 drives crash within the last month, each dying just after the 2-year warranty expired), runs much cooler, and it's a no brainer - 120GB drives can be found on sale for $60-$70, the crappiest of them will still run many times faster than traditional hard drives.
Bottom Line: things that SHOULD WORK often DON'T WORK.

• IdeaPad S400 Touch Windows 8 reinstall

Hello to all. This is my first post on this forum. I bought a IdeaPad S400 Touch several months ago (October) and one of the first things I did was create a backup image on an external hard drive using the tool in Windows 8. I then wiped the hard drive completely in order to install Ubuntu. I was going to put Windows 8 back ont he machine and have the two running side by side. However, I have not been able to reinstall Windows 8. I physically took the hard drive out of the laptop and completely erased it using Disk Utility on my Mac, making sure that the disk was reformatted as MS-DOS. I also created a separate partition, named Lenovo, of 20GB that contains the backup files from my original backup. Still, using OneKey recovery doesn't work, and I am unable to reisntall Windows 8. Please , would someone tell me what I am doing wrong and if there is any way to fix this mess I have created? I will say things were so much easier back in the good old days when PCs shipped with recovery media. Thanks.

Hi Robert,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that the OKR (One Key Recovery) is not working as expected in your S400 touch Laptop, let me inform you that once the partition structure HDD (Hard Disk Drive) gets modified the hard disk recovery corrupts, if you have created the recovery media then you can use them and restore the Operating System. Please try running OneKey Recovery from hard disk, power off the laptop then press Novo button instead of pressing power button and check if it works and if OKR does not work. I suggest you to contact our Technical Support Team to get the details of the nearest Authorized Service Center to get the issue analyzed.

• Please FIX, Apple : Macbook Multi-Touch BSOD and Audio Problem in Vista

Readers: The below message is sent to www.apple.com/feedback and to mac-related sites. If you encounter the same problem as I did, please reply and acknowledge the problems highlighted in this thread.
Dear Apple,
First of all, I would like to compliment you on delivering the excellent new MacBook Aluminum series. As someone converted from the PC camp (no less by your expensive and convincing "PC vs Mac" marketing campaigns) , I was delighted how great life is on the Macbook and Mac OS.
However, life on Vista/XP is another story altogether. While I love to do EVERYTHING on Mac, you have to admit there are a lot of times I have no choice but to do my computing on Windows (eg. gaming and many sites still support only IE). Below are the Vista "show-stoppers" i encountered while using Bootcamp/Vista.
Note, I do understand where Apple's priority is in terms of OS support, but the very fact is that you spent so much money converting PC users to Mac (mainstream advertisement and such) so I think you are obliged to meet the expectations you set. Also, many users like me are paying a premium over similarly-spec Windows notebook. So I think it's only right that as customers, we request that you fix these "show-stoppers" which make Macbook unusable under Vista ( which contradicts your advertisement marketing claims...else sooner or later, someone else will be frustrated enough by the issue to raise a class action lawsuit. Won't be me though cause that's too troublesome but it probably will convince me not to do make my desktop switch to iMac ).
1) Multi-Touch BSOD under Vista
I've consolidated some forum complaints below to illustrate how widespread this problem is. Frequently, the dreaded BSOD pops in out-of-the blue while I am not doing anything particularly complex on Vista. The same message always appear that the problem is caused by "applemtp.sys". This is with latest MTP drivers and even disabling the "Apple Multi-Touchpad Mouse" under Device Drivers. I am at a loss what to do here cause it seems that the only way out is not to use the touchpad in Windows !

2) Audio Crackling/Disappear
Again, I've consolidated some threads below.
Many users hear cracking noises under Vista, when playing MP3, streaming internet audio and gaming. My experience in gaming is that 80% of the time, the audio will be killed halfway in the game. I've got many titles(WoW, Battlefield 2, Last Remnant, COD 4..etc) so the problem is not confined to one title/publisher. Online research speculation believes that this is DPC-related issues due to Broadcom driver but I think the other part is also due to Keyboard Manager in Bootcamp. Even the audio driver itself may be an issue.

• Windows Vista ULT and Quicktime problem

I apologize if this has been posted already, I did a search and found nothing so here goes...
I just installed Windows Vista Ultimate and wanted to get iTunes and Quicktime running as soon as I could. I installed the latest version found on apple's website but every time I try to start Quicktime up, it does absolutely nothing at all. I try to click on a quicktime file and it does nothing as well. Even stranger, I try to uninstall quicktime and it hangs for a sec and then pretends I never asked it to do anything.
iTunes crashes every time I try to run it but it WILL uninstall.
Anyone know a fix to any of this?

Right, I read that article and did what they asked, but it didn't work and doesn't address the problem I have now.
According to the info Apple provided on that article, it implies that iTunes and Quicktime will work with Vista. I can wait for an update if thats the case, I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

• Windows 8.1 and FTP problems

Hello,
I am having problems with Windows 8.1 and FTP clients.
I am using Syncback (just takes forever) and Filezilla 3.7.3 Portable, the last one gives after some time the following error "The maximum number of clients (10) for this user are already connected".
Setting the maximum number of clients on the server form 10 to 15 has no noticeable result.
When using the same network, computer and software, but now Windows 8 (different partition on the same computer), the FTP job just runs fine with no problems.
Should Windows 8.1 have special settings to be able to use FTP?
Thanks, Wouter

Please try these steps:
Reducing simultaneous connections for incorrectly configured servers
https://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Using#Reducing_simultaneous_connections_for_incorrectly_configured_servers
Make sure that you close connection as soon as you are done with them, as some ftp clients will generally leave their connection open unless told otherwise. Additionally, some clients such as Filezilla will allow multiple connections for any new activity,
which uses up connections quickly. While this does make for faster transfers.
I use mostly Cute FTP and I have been sometimes doing it to just close ftp software (Alt+F4) and not closing connection; but the point is that when you have been connected then you must close connection properly as well.

• Fixing the problem with the Device Not Recongized by WMP and Mediasource problem with MTP devi

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING!!! I KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE MANY OTHER FAILED SOLUTIONS BUT YOU HAVE TO READ THROUGH MY WHOLE POST TO MAKE IT WORK!!!TRUST ME!!!
ok, now I read this a billion times, and felt that I was the only idiot that had a "bad" computer that didn't allow me to use my Zen mtp device... but it turns out I was more idiotic than I thought. I hope this helps those who have the same problem I had...here goes...
When you go to the Creative Labs website, go to Support, then Knowledge Base, then go to the MP3 players picture in the PRODUCT CATEGORY and click on it. You need to follow the steps that are described on the SID0053 Product Article. Then click on the Editing the System Registry link towards the bottom and it will tell you what to do...BUT there is something that I never ever did right and I bet lots of other folks didn't do right either. Once you are in the USB Properties seccion of the registry, YOU ACTUALY HAVE TO ADD THE WORD "EVERYONE" INTO THE ALLOWED SECCION!!! Not just because it says "Administrators" and what not means that EVERYONE IS ALLOWED, allow the word "everyone"thne click OK. Now, I did this with my Zen Touch on and plugged into the USB port and without the word DOCKED on it, as it wouldn't dock for me before this. that's it... hope it works for you, if it does then almost instantly the word DOCKED should appear on your MP3 player's Display. Hope that everyone has the same luck as I did. if not, I'll pray for you, I know how frustrating this problem is because I delt with it for toooooo long.

I had a similar problem with my Zen Touch, but the only symptom was not being able to install MediaSource or the Software Suite. I got the same messages that you did. I was able to use Windows Explorer to add/edit/remove files, but I wanted the Zen Media Explorer so that I could create playlists. After about 2 days of research and trial and error, I ended up fixing it by uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers.
If you don't know how to do that, here are instructions...
I'm using XP SP2, btw, so if you're using another version of Windows, it might be slightly different...
) With the Zen connected, Right-click on "My Computer"
2) Select "Properties"
3) Click on the "Hardware" tab and select "Device Manager"
4) Right Click on "MTP Device" (or MTP Media Player) and select "Uninstall"
5) Disconnect the player from the computer, wait about 5 secs, and reconnect.
When you reconnect it, the drivers will be reinstalled. Try running the setup again after that.
If that still doesn't work, look for random optional Windows updates, maybe?...esp. PlaysForSure, WMP, or USB/mobo/INF/Chipset driver updates...or maybe when it says "Setup could not detect and portable device on your system. Setup will now install the necessary drivers to enable your device to be detected," it actually is doing something, but it isn't apparent until you reinstall the driver. To be honest, I just don't know. The computer I'm using is only a few months old and I didn't have any problems installing on an older computer.
Oh well. I hope that fixes your problem.
As far as the problem with the 360 connectivity, I'm sorry I can't help you there.Message Edited by potestasx on -03-2006:28 PM

• Windows 7 Wireless and Audio Drivers on 2010 MacBook Pro

I have a new MacBook Pro i7 2.66 Mhz with Snow Leopard and dual boot to Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate. I can't find the correct drivers (Windows 7 side) to get the audio and the wireless networking operating. I ran the bootcamp setup from the Snow Leopard install disc on Windows 7. It gave an error message that this model is not supported. I then ran each software driver individually from the install disc and was able to get all to work except the audio and wireless. I then installed the Bootcamp 3.2 update from the Internet with no improvement.
Does anybody know where the audio and wireless drivers can be located for Windows 7? (Apple Support has not been able to resolve the problem yet) Thank You!

I'm having the same problem with Windows 7 64-bit Professional. I had to go through the same process to get most of the drivers installed. I've had the same issues with the wireless and audio drivers.
To get the Apple drivers installed, I followed the instructions from this blog post.

Has anyone had any luck with the rest of the drivers?
