Bluetooth : problems pairing iphone 4S / OS7 with mac OS 10.7.5

the computer pairs or recognizes the iphone, and I eventually see the mac at the iphone, but when I ask to connect I get the message "device unsupported"... Is there any structural incompatibility between the two?... if you can help, thanks in advance! Joao

You can't connect the two devices via bluetooth, here are the supported profiles http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3647
you can connect your phone to the mac for tethering http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4517
what are you trying to do?

  • Regarding iPhone link up with Mac book, am i charged by my cell company even if i am on wifi?

    Hi there!
Regarding iPhone link up with Mac book, am i charged by my cell company even if i am on wifi?
I ask because i travel to europe often, and need to get a phone there.. this would save me a whole lot of money and hastle
    Thank you

Streaming will be faster from the new iMac.  However it is still a good idea to keep the bulk of your material, 400 GB is a lot of content, on external drives.  That serves to protect the material if an internal drive fails, and also keeps the internal drive from getting too loaded down.  You can increase speed by simply moving content you want to use in the short term to the iMac SSD where it will be at its fastest speed, and then take it off when no longer needed there.
That gives the speed and security for your material.

  • Pairing iphone BT headset with Win XP Pro - questions

    Hi,
i am trying to use my iphone headset with my windows XP computer to do VoIP. I am able to pair the BT headset with XP (at least it shows up connected in BT settings). But i cannot select it within my audio/microphone devices, also doesnt show up in VoIP client as in/output device. in my BT settings the iphone BT headset does not hzave any services that i can pair with audio for example
What's wrong? anyone has an idea?
    Thanks, Markus

The computer needs to support particular bluetooth profiles, i.e. a software drivers that support specific application like datamodem, stereo headphone, phone headset (the one you want) or many other things.
You may be using the bluetooth driver stack that comes included with windows xp? As I recall, that one does not support the headset software profile, just some other stuff. For myself, I had to arrange for Widcomm drivers to get installed on my computer instead of the microsoft one, they do support that Bluetooth feature, and my (logitech) headset has been working fine since. It may take some googling to get Widcomm or other drivers, as they are typically bundled with some (but not all) bluetooth dongles instead of easily downloaded and installed.
Hope this helps. It should definately work with the right software.

  • Help me sync all my iPhone's tabs with Mac - beginning to despair!

    Hi,
iPhone 4S 16GB, White, iOS 6.0.1; Mac Pro 2010, Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Supplemental Update 1.0; iTunes 10.7 (I am NOT upgrading to iTunes 11).
I can't get all the aspects of my iPhone to sync with my Mac Pro without receiving the dreaded, "Do you want to erase this iPhone…" dialogue.  At the moment, the iPhone currently syncs Apps, Podcasts, iTunes U and Photos with the Mac Pro in question.  I'm trying to get it to also sync Tones, Music, Films, TV Programmes and Books.
This is such a convoluted process that I'm not sure where precisely to begin.  I'll start with my last Restore From Backup, which was for the purposes of restoring this replacement iPhone with the contents of the pre-replacement's backup.
    1) Attached iPhone to my Mac Pro via USB
    2) Right-clicked iPhone in iTunes Sidebar, chose "Restore from Backup…" and selected the previous iPhone's last backup
    3) After the Restore was complete, I immediately went to the Apps tab and checked, "Sync Tabs".  This is crucial in order to restore the third-party apps that were on the phone when it was Backed Up so that they will be associated with their data.
    4) During this process, I also checked all the rest of the tabs, but only Podcasts, iTunes U and Photos synced successfully.  All the others (Tones, Music, Films, TV Programmes and Books) came up with an error message. Which one, I'm not sure, but probably the one that declares these tabs to be synced with another computer, and asks,  "Do you want to erase this iPhone…".  I'm confident it was, actually, because I recall thinking how daft it was that, right after a Restore from Backup, it was telling me that the iPhone was synced with another Mac.  Madness…
After steps (1) through (4), my phone was back to its pre-replacement state (more or less, but let's not go there).  Because there was still media I required to add to the phone, I unplugged the iPhone from the Mac Pro, and attached it to the Mac mini.  When I attempted—purely as a troubleshooting measure—to sync the Tones, Music, Films, TV Programmes and Books from the Mac mini, I received the following messages after ticking each checkbox, respectively:
With each dialogue box I clicked Cancel, because there was no content available to sync anyway.
So, neither of the two Macs that I own will sync Tones, Music, Films, TV Programmes or Books with this iPhone without erasing existing content.  Why?  Having seen this, I went back to my Mac Pro with the iPhone, and attempted to sync Tones again.  It asked:
That gave me hope, because it wasn't claiming to be about to delete "all existing songs, films and TV programmes" as it did on the Mac mini: just Tones.  So, I hit "Apply".  The result?
Not only that, but the Capacity guage at the bottom of the window indicated that I was about to lose 1.74GB of Audio data, despite the fact that the only tone on the iPhone amounted to less than 1MB in size.
Apple has created the most sadistic syncing system I've ever encountered, and the one most eager to delete a user's data.
Can someone please tell me how to make my iPhone sync the remaining unsynced tabs with the Mac Pro?  This is the Mac that contains all my media, so the Mac mini is pointless even if it did work.
    Caveats:
    • Please, only offer genuinely tested solutions and not conjecture.
    • Please, don't request I make any arbitrary changes that may lead to data loss, at least without good reasoning.
    • Please, don't ask me to get in touch with iTunes Technical Support—down that avenue lies more incompetence than I can bear.
    • AppleCare Telephone Support for my iPhone has expired, so please don't suggest I get in touch with them either.
    Thanks

  • Problem installation Macbook air (2011) with Mac OS 10.6

I'v got an macbook air, 13 inch with mac os x 10.6.6. And at this moment I've got some troubles with OS X.
To resolve the problems I want or an clean and fresh install with OS X 10.6 or to set a backup back from my time machine. I lost my USB installation stick, I ordered a new one with apple but it can take a couple of weeks.
So I first tried a remote install (using the cd player of my windows machine) with a mac os x installation cd 10.6. I can see and start the installation at the beginning but after a while a get a grey screen and I am forced to hold the shut down button.
I was told it can be because you can only reinstall with mac os x 10.6.4 or higher.
So I lent the mac os x 10.6.4 install cd (from a macbook pro) and tried again. Same story, after I selected the start up disk after a while I get a grey screen and forced to shut down again.
Can anyone tell me what goes wrong? How can I get a fresh installation on my macbook air?
    Thanks for your help!

Can you tell me if the latest version of the macbook air has OS X 10.6.6 installed? Or a earlier version and that I updated, I don't know anymore, with the software updater to 10.6.6?
Is het posible to get a installation of mac os x 10.6.6? I don't mind to pay again for this. I already ordered a new usb stick, but it can take to a couple of weeks.
I really want my problems fixed and want to pay when there is a possibility to get a new installation CD or USB quick!
Thanks for your clear and quick answer!!

  • Is the iPhone 5 compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.8?

I have a MacBook with Leopard 10.5.8, wondering if the iPhone 5 is compatible to sync with itunes10.6.8, because I tried to open .dmg 10.7 itunes says I need os 10.6 or higher to open the file , whats the deal, because it would suck to get my iphone 5 on release day and not be able to sync my media.

I haven't investgated, nor have an iPhone, but I doubt it, Apple likes to leave old things behind.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It's been pulled from the online store, so you have to call Apple to buy it, last I heard, but quick, call before it's gone!
    Call Apple 1-800-MY-APPLE
You have to get 10.6.8 first to go even higher to 10.7 or 10.8

  • I have problems to conect my Huawei with Mac OS X

I have trouble connecting my model's broadband Huawei E226 telcelwith my Mac after you install the software for Mac OS X 10.7 as I cancorrect this problem as the previous version if I could connect

You've probably received an answer to this already, but I just purchased an iMac and had similar problems with my Huawei 02 Broadband dongle. There was a really great answer to these problems posted recently under the heading: Getting your Huawei modem working with Mac OS X Lion. Tom Meegan posted it and he should be working for the best tech company in the world. However, I didn't actually use his solution because I discovered that the reason my service was cutting in and out after I had ieasily and successfully installed the 02 dongle, was because even though I had bought enough credit in the store, I apparently needed to have 02 activate the account! That was apparently the big problem, easily solved, although they should have told me that in the store when I bought it instead of me having to spend lots of time trying to get through to speak to an 02 tech.

  • Unable to Sync Iphone 4s ical with mac (without iCloud)

    Hi there,
I was able to sync perfectly all my iCal info back and forth between my iphone 4s and my Mac (OS X 10.8.5), but now it is impossible.
Went through different discussions involving upgrading to Maverick but I really don't think I have done any upgrade (or is there something automatic I didn't quite get?).
The option to sync the calendars in info in itunes is still there, and it does sync the iphone and the mac icals, but the events don't cross from one to the other.
I gave a try to the iCloud, but honestly it is beyond the absolute opposite of anything practical or efficient. More important I travel a lot between countries with no wifi or internet connection whatsoever, so really need to go back to good ol' sync by usb, getting rid of the iCloud on the way. Can anyone advise how to?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • Bluetooth Pairing Failed, Lego Mindstorms with mac mini.

I have exhausted hours of searching for this problem.
iPad pairs with Lego Brick fine.  Mac Mini sees brick, Brick sees mac. Brick asks for passcode (have tried both 0000 and 1234)  Mac says pairing failed.
Before I go into great detail about the Pairing Failed,  any links to an answer?  Thanks

Does Lego say it will pair with a Mac?
The iPad 2 and later supports the hands free BT profile but the mac does not.
What BT profile does the Lego use?

  • TS3253 Someone have problems pairing iphone 5 with 2011 altima?

I have a nissan Altima 2011 i had iphone 4 And bluetooth hands free worked perfect, my favorite feauture and now i got iphone 5 cannot pair , car don't recognize the iphone , my bluetooth don't work or what, i am very upset and dissapointed of this iphone now

Here's a fix from another discussion.  It worked for me with 'PhotoShare' and when it works you don`t need it more. This fixes keynote remote. Hope apple solves keynote remote/blue tooth issue in future update.
    Alex G writes:
    1. Launch keynote on one device and the remote on the other as you normall would.
    2. Find another app that bluetooth links ipad and iphone (I used 'pictransfer light'). Install on both devices and launch on both devices. Follow the promt to get a bluetooth sync.
    3. Double push the home button both devices to pull up the multi-tasking and open keynote and keynote remote on the relevant devices.
    4. In keynote, go to settings; advances; remote. You should now be able to get the remote to link (you may, on the device running the remote, need to hit settings and then 'new keynote link'.
