Bluetooth - SerialPortProfile in iOS?

Hello,
i found a interesting bluetooth modul which allows a connection to iOS-devices.
http://www.connectblue.com/products/bluetooth-products/bluetooth-modules/bluetoo th-iphone-ios-accessory-module-obs414/
The description says:
"iPhone/iPod touch/iPad connectivity:
• Supports SPP/PAN Bluetooth connection with iOS devices"
... but the official Apple-Note says that SPP is not supported by iOS.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
I know that i have to be in the MfI-Programm to use this moduls correctly.
Dear Developers, is the SPP-Profil really supported by iOS?

1.I am using an external Bluetooth kit by which I will send the command through my iphone application.I will communicate with the external Kit through a command that writes and reads the data using External Accessory framework. In lower version except IOS 7.1 i was able to communicate properly without any issues. In EA framework implementing a delegate method I could able to write/read a data.
2) Right now I am facing an issue only in ios 7.1 where I was not able to read any data from the external Bluetooth Kit.I have researched regarding this issue in all the sites I got to know some information that because of EA framework issue in ios 7.1 where I am able to communicate. But still I have a confusion that its happening because of EA framework or any other ios issues.

  • Bluetooth issue in ios 7.1

I am facing the Bluetooth issue in ios 7.1 iphone. In ios 7.0 it works fine without any problem.I am using the EA framework for reading/writing the data in my application.Still I have not got any correct solution for this scenario. I am having a doubt that this issue is happening as because of EA framework which I am using it or do i need to change any settings.Could someone tell me the solution for this problem?

  • Cannot remove bluetooth devices in iOS 8

In bluetooth settings, I am trying to remove a bluetooth device using iOS 8 on an iPhone 5; however, when I select the device, "Forget This Device" is greyed out and unavailable. I have done some searching and found that this can happen with jailbroken phones, but mine is not jailbroken. I now have two devices that are in my iPhone bluetooth settings that have this issue: my iMac and my iPad.
Anyone else seeing this or knows of a fix?

I just found a solution that worked for me by disabling Handoff in both my iMac and my iPhone.
    For OSX:
System Preferences → General and scroll down. Uncheck Allow Handoff between this Mac and iCloud devices
    In iOS:
Go to Settings → General, scroll down and turn off the switch for Enable Handoff
I was then able to select forget for the desired bluetooth devices, and then switch Handoff back on.

Will the major Religions on earth ever get on together? These are questions that nobody here can help you with until or if it ever happens.

    Tell Apple about it: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Be sure to give as much detail as possible.
I would also check LG's site.

    Hi Eslam El-Gammal,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that after resetting your iPhone, you are being prompted for Apple ID information that is not yours. This can happen if an iPhone is restored without turning off the Find My Phone feature. For more information on this, please refer to the attached article.

  • Odd bluetooth behavior after ios 8 update

After the ios 8 update a call is no longer automatically transferred to my headset when I switch it on during an incoming call.
Before the update I could switch on my Jabra headset while my iphone 5C was ringing and that would automatically answer the call and direct the sound to the headset. That is how a bluetooth headset should work.
After the update the call is answered when I turn on the headset but the sound is not transferred to the headset. If I press the answer button on the headset the call is terminated. Makes absolutely no sense at all. Any ideas for a fix apart from waiting for 8.0.3??

I have he same problem when I have bluetooth activated and my IPhone is paired.  When the phone rings and I press 'Accept' I receive the message 'Call has Ended', however if I quickly press the Speaker Key and select my  Jabra blue tooth device, I  can capture the call.   Why isn't the Bluetooth device connecting to the call automatically when the blue tooth is paired and active?   Receiving the Message' Call has Ended' and having to quickly tap on the speaker button and press the Bluetooth device before the call goes the voicemail doesn't see right.  Thank you

  • Bluetooth connection fails iOS 8.1

My iPhone5s cannot make a Bluetooth connectivity with any of my Macs(MBA mid-2013, iMac late-2012, MacPro) all running Yosemite 10.10. Prior to upgrading to Yosemite the same iPhone running on iOS 7 did make successful bluetooth connectivity. My iPhone5s is on 8.1. Surprising even though it cannot have connectivity, it sees and stay connected for a second or two and then will say "Not Connected". But the same phone connects with Blueant S4 handsfree Speakerphone - except that I have to make a connection each time. In the past, it used to connect automatically when I was in the range of my device.
Yes, I have tried reset PRAM, SMC resets on my Macs, powered OFF and ON my iPhone5s and even reset my NW connection. In addition, I have other iPhones in my family and none can make connection to Macs which run on Yosemite(tried 4s, 5 and even 6). But the same iPhones make successful BT on Macs running Mavericks and Mountain Lion(yes one MBP still exists). So I am guessing it is changes in Yosemite that is causing the problem. Because I am going through this problem - my family members who have Macs do not want to upgrade to Yosemite as they depend on BT connectivity for their external devices. I don't blame them, but sounds very silly to me that Apple messed up big time with BT connectivity. I see many reporting similar issues, but for many resetting PRAM and/or SMC they have been successful.
Any help would be appreciated. Again I am not referring to Handoff (which it is working for me) but I am interested in BT connectivity with Yosemite. This is important because external BT devices need to be connected(Headphones, Earbuds etc).

I went to the Apple store yesterday because I was having the same issue in my Honda Accord after I updated to iOS 8.1.1.  The very helpful rep there suggested that I go to Settings -> General -> Reset on my phone to reset my iPhone 5 General Settings.  She said that it's like an oil change for the phone that cleans out a lot of the junk.  After doing this, I was able to stream both my music and Pandora in my car again.
Note:  When you reset the General Settings, you will lose your phone password and background image (not a big deal).  You will NOT lose your pictures, video or emails.
    Hope that helps!

  • How to pair Windows 8.1 with a bluetooth low energy iOS Device?

    Hi,
I wrote an OSX GATT Client (central) Bluetooth application, which searchs for Bluetooth LE peripheral devices, and implemented the peripheral role on iOS. Everything works fine.
Now I'm trying to write the GATT Client as a win32 application, to search for iOS BLE peripheral devices. Following the Bluetooth Low Energy MSDN specifications   the devices have to be paired first. But I can't pair iOS BLE peripheral devices
(tested on iPad4) with my Windows 8.1 PC.
On my PC, I see the advertised service of my iOS Peripheral Device, but when I try to pair it fails with the message  "try again, and make sure your device is still discoverable". I downloaded Lightblue ( available on itunes) to let the iOS
Device act as different peripheral roles, still the pairing request fails.
Is there another way to interact with an iOS BLE device?
    Thanks a lot.

No success yet, but more information:
I am using TI's CC2540 Wireless Connectivity Development kit and their Packet Sniffer app to capture packet exchanges.
When pairing Windows to the TI CC2541 SensorTag I see:
SensorTag advertises with ADV_IND packets that have 9 byte PDU with payload 0x02 0x01 0x05 which I believe means Flags are "LE Limited Discoverable" and "BD/EDR (BT classic) not supported". TxAdd indicates it's using a public address.
    Windows sends a SCAN_REQ.
SensorTag responds with SCAN_RSP with PDU which says Complete name = "SensorTag", incomplete list of UUIDs is 0x0A 0x00, and slave connection interval range is 100ms to 1000ms.
Windows sends a CONNECT_REQ and they are off and running.
When pairing Windows to the iOS device running either LightBlue or my own app I see:
iOS advertises with ADV_IND packets with 24 byte PDU that says Flags = ("LE General Discoverable", dual-mode Controller, dual-mode Host), complete list of UUIDs is 0xEC 0x1C, and Complete name is "LightBlue". TxAdd indicates it's using
    a random address.
    Windows sends a SCAN_REQ.
iOS reponds with a SCAN_RSP with 6 byte PDU, where the first 6 bytes is always the (advertiser?) address, so in other words a 0 byte payload. That seems to make sense since the advertising packets have complete information.
Windows never sends the CONNECT_REQ, and pairing fails.
I am not aware of any problems with any of these packets, they look okay. But there are several differences between the two sequences and evidently Windows doesn't like the second sequence because it never sends the CONNECT_REQ.
Am I interpreting these packets correctly? Why doesn't Windows send the CONNECT_REQ packet to iOS?

  • Bluetooth in car ios 8.1 still bad

8.1 has not fixed my Bluetooth conne took in my Mazda CX-9. I can receive calls but cannot make outgoing calls. I have to keep forcing the connection from the phone and it won't ring thru the car. Once someone answers on the other end then I can connect it. In ios 7 it used to ring thru the car speaker. I could also make calls thru Siri which no longer works.

Unless it is something specific to the vehicle, then it should be working. If you do a search, there were a number of problems, but most have been corrected with iOS8.1, then others are waiting for updates from the vehicle manufacturers. Did Mazda say they had any updates pending? Did you try going into Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, or Reset All Settings. Many have reported those, in addition to removing the devices from the phone and car and then pairing again have corrected issues.

  • Bluetooth problem on iOS 6!

I have Beats Wireless, and since upgrading to iOS 6, has presented problems with the bluetooth connection. I was wondering if anyone has this problem and if Apple will make a new update to fix this problem.
    Thank You.

I have bluetooth problem with Creative Sound Blasteraxx SBX 20 when I upgraded iphone4, ipad2 and ipad3 to ios 6.
There seemed the bluetooth session is prone to some interruptions. The music stopped playing but the bluetooth session is inact. The sound blaster has blue led and iphone4 show " connected". I will to reset by turning off the bluetooth and reconnect again. Then only will the music from iphone4 is played at sound blasteraxx SBX20. I have to kept doing this again and again when the music stopped. This does not happen before the upgrade. I used Creative BT-D5 a bluetooth socket connector to iphone4 and paired it with Sound Blasteraxx SBX20. I played for hours without any session being lost. I have seen iphone wifi suddenly went from "connected" to " not connected" in iphone4 setting. Before upgrade the disconnection would never appear on its own. I suspect the ios bluetooth and wifi are prone to interruption and they cannot prrform automatically recovery. It needs manual reset to get bluetooth and wifi working.

  • TS4532 Bluetooth problem with iOS 6.1 - Help!

Since I updated to iOS 6.1 I can't Sync any of my bluetooth earpieces, Jawbone and Ant. Both worked fine until upgrade.

  • Bluetooth problems in IOS 5

    Help
Since upgrading to IOS 5 I cannot tether my iPhone 3GS to my iPad 2.
When I switch on bluetooth on both devices, neither device can discover each other.
I had no problem prior to installing IOS 5.
My iPhone will connect to my car bluetooth system.

Hi, same identical issue on iPhone 5 and my NISSAN QASHQAI: connectivity with the car hand free system is established and works fine for music but it does not work at all for both incoming and outgoing calls.

  • Bluetooth audio on iOS 8.1.2

My Bluetooth audio suddenly fell silent. I'm on an iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1.2. Device registers the pairing. Audio for my iPhone suddenly suddenly stopped playing through Bluetooth. Happened while I was switching between some audio playing apps: iReal Pro and Apple Music player.

  • Bluetooth streaming issues iOS 8.1.2

I have been seeing issues with Bluetooth audio streaming on my iPhone 5c, when connected to Harman/Kardon Soundsticks III BT.
Initially I thought it was an issue with the speakers, but changed my mind when my friend's Nexus 4 was able to stream audio properly.
I do not face any issues with pairing or connection. But the audio playback will stop suddenly, even though I can see the progress bar and timer on my iPhone.
And sometimes, I hear a continuous buzzing sound from the speakers, after audio playback stopped.
Today I also saw issues with connecting to my Nokia BH-104 headset. I can see Bluetooth got connected, but music simply does not stream to the headset. When I try playing, music is played over phone speakers, not the headset. I tried using the headset with my Lenovo laptop, and its working fine.
Tried resetting phone, even restored as new when i upgraded to iOS 8.1.2, but nothing has yet worked for me.
    Anyone facing similar issues?
