Bluetooth Setting Missing

Product Name: HP Touchsmart 23-f217c
Edition: Windows 8.1
I have just purchased some new Beats Wireless bluetooth headphones and would like to connect them with my computer.
I go into Settings/PC Settings/Devices and there is no option to enable or disable bluetooth devices. The toggle button is missing from there completely.
How can I connect my bluetooth device to my computer? I find it very strange that this setting is missing completely.
I also have a Microsoft Surface tablet and in Settings/PC Settings/Devices the Bluetooth toggle is there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Mario

Hi,
Unfortunately your machine does not have this option (only few dollars) as shown:
HP Pavilion TouchSmart 23-f217c All-in-One Desktop PC Product Specifications
If you wish, please use a Bluetooth dongle:

Regards.
ps This option is not on my loan Envy 17 with Leap too.

  • IPad 2 Bluetooth Setting cannot be turned on

My bluetooth setting is set to off, but the slide option to turn it on is missing.  Instead there is only the circle hourglass like it is searching for something.  I noticed this right after trying to pair to a device that was aleady paired to my iPod. When I unpaired the device from my iPod my iPad 2 just showed the circle hourglass and never found a device.  So I turned the bluetooth setting OFF...as soon as I did this I lost the option to turn it back on.  Where the ON/OFF slider should be now shows only the circular hourglass/searching symbol.  Have done several resets or reboots...with no luck. I have even reset to factory defaults and then did a restore from my iTunes with no luck.  Any one have any suggestions?

I did try a Reset All Settings...no luck.  Unfortunately, I do not have an older backup that I can find. I have been backing up just the important stuff to the Cloud only...I just did a full back up today to my computer...so I don't see anything older than today.  Appreciate the feedback.  Let me know if you have any other ideas.  Really disappointed right now...everything else works fine.

Thank you wjsten for your soon reply. Unfortunately on these days I'm in a country that Apple don't have any retail store here and for sake of time I prefer to fix it myself to DHL it to the nearest country to use its warranty. Do you have any idea how can I fix it? Do you think it's a software issue?

    Please help me.

    Amanat,
you need to post your model number which can be found on the system itself, please see following link, or post the Lenovo part number.  This will enable Shiva to check that your system should have Bluetooth; not all G470s have Bluetooth.

    Welcome to the discussions.
So what make you think, to quote you "bluetooth set up to monitor me in home and w/ iphone" ? That stuff looks like a bunch of data files, some sqllite, some plist, and some possibly binary.  There's lots of this kind of stuff floating around your system.
You are not being monitored.  And if you were bluetooth is about the last mode to even try to use due to its limited range.  In addition your post says you are using a mac pro and the bluetooth on mac pros leaves a lot to be desired to say the least (I'm being kind using those words).  The built-in BT on mac pros is lucky to reach the mouse on your desk!

If the following is your problem try the troubleshooting described within:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
Frequently it is due to  hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
If that is not your problem then we need more information about hur problem. How do you know the"hardware" is missing?

  • Apple Bluetooth Set -- unable to pair

Just got a bluetooth set (Apple) but I can't get it to work.
When I plugged it in it said "pairing".
However, the bluetooth sign remains gray, can't get it to turn blue or white. It's on (have ascending sounds and green light when turning on) but answering a call only goes through the phone.
Bluetooth is on on the phone. Going to the bluetooth pref it's searching but never finds anything.
    Any help?

To pair them, plug them both into the charger cable that came with the headset. Then, unplug them and tap the button on the headset.
If you don't have the dock cable, you need to put the headset in 'discoverable' mode - press and hold the headset button to turn it off, then press and hold it to turn it on, but keep holding the button until more tones sound and the light flashes. Then go into Bluetooth settings on the phone and select the headset.

I grasp that your wireless is working fine but you are missing your Bluetooth.
If you look in Device Manager is the Bluetooth card  recognized, if not would you  right click on the network adapter and scan for hardware changes.
Have you tried reseating the network card?

Step 3: Now click on Log On Tab and Type in "Local Service" without quotes
Step 4. Click on “This Account”
Step 5: Now remove any passwords leave the password field blank
Step 6: Underneath the upper left title should be a hyperlink "Start" Click it
You can also check  the Power Management tab and unchecked the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

  • My Mad Catz Bluetooth set for the ps3 broke where the charger plugs in?

    whenever I plugged the charger into the Bluetooth set, I had to move it around or else it wouldn't charge an today when I moved it, the part where you put the end of the charger in sunk in and I fixed it but it stay.. is there any way to make it stay?! help! ________________{Links Removed per Forum Guidelines}

    Hi,
It's the charger. iPad Minis use Lightning cables, which are truly the most unreliable cables ever used to charge a device! I've gone through seven in a year.
The iPad should be fine. Try some other cables. If they fail, go to an Apple Store and hopefully they can help.
Hope this helps and Happy Holidays!

  • Bluetooth Set Up But Not Connected Blackberry vCards

Problem: I'm trying to send vCards to my new Blackberry Pearl 8120, but cannot get the mac to send the file to the Bluetooth phone.
    1. Bluetooth connectivity IS turned on in Sharing Preferences.
    2. When I run "Set Up Bluetooth Device" it finds the phone, no problem.
But in Bluetooth preferences it lists the phone as "Discoverable" and "Paired" but "not connected."
The only time I've gotten a green light for "connected" is when the set-up was running.
    Help!
How do I send vCards to the phone - I DO NOT want to type all this stuff over again, not, in this day and age, should I have to.
Seriously - I've seen other posts on similar subjects all unanswered - Mac Support, where are you?

Attached is a list of HP Airprint enabled printers.  Your printer is not on this list.  If it is wireless, you can purchase an App from the App Store, which will allow you to print.  Printopia and Print Central are two which are recommended, both cost about $9 (US).

  • How to set missing language information in iTunes books?

Some of the ebooks I imported into iTunes are missing language information in their metadata. I can't find a means of setting the proper language in the information dialog, something which can easily done i.e. using Calibre or Sigil. Is iTunes really missing this feature?

    it would seem so

  • Brightness setting missing in Preferences

The brightness adjustment is missing from my System Preferences. I cannot adjust the brightness from my keyboard or from the side of my Apple 24" monitor. The screen is stuck at a darker setting that is useful. Is there a way to fix this?

I had read in a few places to go to System Preferences/Display to adjust Brightness. Since my monitor would not respond to the Brightness adjustment buttons and my keyboard controls just beeped at me, I figured the control missing in System Preferences meant something was wrong on the OS level.
Further research revealed other users having similar problems on MacBooks. I also found some who had Brightness problems with Tiger. One person suggested opening Classic (OS 9). I did it and the Brightness controls did work. A clunky way to fix the problem, but apparently Apple has put off fixing it for some time in Tiger. It'll have to do until I upgrade to a new computer and not be using Tiger anymore (I fear problems if I try to upgrade my PowerMac to Leopard... I hear too many horror stories).
