Bluetooth Speaker adapter

I've been trying to setup a bluetooth connection between my mac and bluetooth speaker adapter that is hooked up to my home stereo. The pairing is working and it shows up in my bluetooth settings, but it is showing that the bluetooth adapter is not connected. I have tried with multiple adapters and nothing. I thought I read somewhere that Leopard is the first OS that supports this type of pairing, and obviously I'm still running Tiger. Is this true? Any ideas? I'm getting frustrated trying to figure this out.

Greetings everyone! I reinstalled Lion and paired my Logitech Bluetooth Headset at 10.7.2. But the system won't connect to it after updating to 10.7.3.
Finally I made my bluetooth headset work again. Here's how I did it;
1. In Preference>Bluetooth, remove my paired device. Reboot mac.
2. Deleted the following two files in Library/Preferences/
---com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
---com.apple.Bluetooth.plist.lockfile
(These files will be reconstructed by the system)
The system will ask for your administration password. Reboot mac.
3. In Preference>Bluetooth, pair my BT headset again and assign it to be the audio device. You may find the BT device not connected, then by playing a music or youtube video, connection should be established and sound is output.
4. Reboot to make sure BT headset work steadily(leave the BT headset turned on). But I encountered kernel panic and forced restart (twice!) Upon the third restart, I logged in, and BT headset worked properly.
The normal situation is, Mac automatically connects to BT headset few seconds after the headset is turned on. And I think we can just turn off BT deveice (whenever we don't need them) instead of disabling Bluetooth in Preference. Just leave the BT settings, so next time your Mac sees the BT device, it automatically connects to it.

Logitech bluetooth speaker adapter kaput since update

Since the new Mac OS X 10.7.3 update, my Logitech Bluetooth speaker adapter has not functioned. When I choose to use it as my audio device, there is a very long pause and then I receive the message "A Bluetooth audio error occurred." (Normally, I wait through a short pause after which I hear a beep from my stereo speakers that tells me that the Logitech adapter is working.)
This device has been working fine since I bought it two months ago. It hasn't worked since the update.

Logitech Bluetooth Speaker Adapter Update OS X?

Hi, i bought a logitech z506 5.1 speaker system for my mbp and with it i got a Logitech Bluetooth Speaker Adapter with the set. I then tried to pair my iPhone with the adapter and BAM straight in and playing via bluetooth onto my speakers. But then i tried it with my mbp, no luck, pairs then disconnects and no sound . Phoned logitech and they said that the adapter doesn't work with OS X Lion which is slightly annoying as i just paid £90 for this set and adapter. Anyone know if there will be some sort of update. I doubt it because it is such a small number of people that this effects. Thanks

I am having this problem right now too only difference is that I am using a bluetooth headphone rather than a speaker. The volume is very low and it would disconnect automatically if my bluetooth headphones are not playing any audio. I never had this issue until I updated to 10.7.4. I tried searching for solutions but I couldn't find any. I am hoping as well that someone will find a workaround about this issue.

Weak Bluetooth Signal MacBook Pro 2011 Lion - Wireless Speaker Adapter

I just bought a wireless bluetooth speaker adapter (http://amzn.to/IRhKlX) and my signal strength between it and my macbook pro is very low, around -70dB in the bluetooth preferences thing. While it works with my cell phone, and two other non-mac laptops, the audio from my mac sounds like a skipping cd, and I'm about 2 meters away with nothing blocking the line of sight. Even if I place my mac next to the adapter, the audio quality doesn't seem to improve, though the signal strength increases to about -60dB. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on here?

Any or all of the following third-party system modifications may be contributing to your problem:
Apogee device and/or driver
Tuxera NTFS driver
If the panic is recurrent, I suggest you uninstall them, one at a time, according to the developers' instructions, to see whether you can identify which one is at fault. A conflict between modifications may be involved. Reboot and test after each uninstallation.
Back up all data before making any changes.

External bluetooth speaker volume to low

I have an external bluetooth speaker from jawbone called jambox. From the start on I had the normal speaker volume like I also stil have it if I connected the bluetooth speaker with my iPod touch. But some day ago, the volume from my whole Mac (not just from iTunes) dropped through my Jawbone. It is not just about 40% of that, what I know of, that the Jawbone Jambox is able to bring.
This problem exists through all audio / video programs on my Macbook Pro. So like in iTunes, also in VLC or MplayerX. Everywhere. The software sound of MacOS Lion is on maximum. Also the sound control of the jambox itself is reached. It seems like there is a protection against to high volume anywhere turned on which just do not allow me to turn up the volume beyond a specifc point of db.
But, I can only repeat: The speaker is in a good shape. I am able to play music much more louder with my iPod paired. But just not with my macbook. I am looking for a "hidden" option to disable the maximum volume limitation of my Mac to the speaker.
Would be happy if anyone know a solution for that issue...

Works fine on my HTC thunderbolt, Even works fine on my brothers Mac (same year and OS build).
My audio used to work fine through my bluetooth adapters but now the audio is way lower than it should be. This is a recent problem, it worked fine before. I believe an update may have cuased this, then again my brothers mac is working just fine even after the update. I even tried switching the bluetooth adapter and it still has the problem so I know its my Mac.

Me and my brother Both have 2011 Macbook Pros, running 10.7.4 and the adapters are Blackberry adapters used to receive the audio from my mac and play through my home entertainment system via aux jack from the bluetooth adapter.

You can only add songs to your iOS device from iTunes via Wi-Fi sync or via your cable, not Bluetooth.

Bluetooth Speaker sometimes missing in the output list

Hi all !
My computer runs on the latest version of Gnome Shell, with pulseaudio as the sound manager.
I have a bluetooth speaker (Creative D100); I can pair it with my computer without any problem, but *sometimes* after having paired it successfully, the speaker doesn't appear in the list of the output device of the Pulseaudio panel. I need to either un-pair the speaker, restart Gnome-Shell, or sometimes even reboot my computer.
It doesn't occur every day, but when it does, that's pretty annoying.
I've searched on the net, but so far I could only find people who simply had a library missing or so, which doesn't seem to be my current problem =/

Hello, I have recently purchased a new Bluetooth speaker and I would like to use it with my already working home audio system which I control with the airplay feature on my Apple TV. I tried to use the airplay function on my iPhone 4S and connect the 2 at the same time but It would only let me connect one. OK, thank you for that information. On your Mac, go to the Apple logo at the very top left. Then go to System Preferences. Then go to the Blue bluetooth logo to open bluetooth settings. In the window that opens, you'll see a + in the bottom left. Just before you click this, press the pair button on your speaker. The Mac will now search for the speaker, which is now discoverable. When you see the speaker, double click it in the list. Once you are connected, go back to system preferences, this time opening up the sound settings. In the list of speakers, select your Bluetooth one. it will now be highlighted and all audio will go through it. To go back to your regular speakers, either turn off the Bluetooth speaker, or go back to the sound settings and highlight 'build in speakers'. *****

Why is my bluetooth speaker connected but sound only comes out of the computer speakers?

I have also gone to system preferences and the speakers are also shown to be connected and chosen as the main speakers. Try resetting the PMU/SMU and PRAM/NVRAM. You'd need to identify the mode of resetting depending on the model of your G5 iMac. The Apple support sites that would help you for this are –

On my iPad, can the headset option and a bluetooth speaker work at the same time? I am using the headset to listen to music, but I want my spouse to be able to hear the same music using a wireless bluetooth speaker in the other room.

To clarify, can it be MADE to work? The basic hook up does not seem to allow for both. I was hoping an intellengent, helpful person might be able to assist a novice.
