Bluetooth speaker does not connect automatically in windows 8.1

before the upgrade (?) to 8.1,if i turned on my bluetooth speaker,it automatically took over from the speakers of my laptop. No drivers,no further changes needed.
After upgrading to 8.1 i have to disconnect the speaker, connect it again, then set the speaker as my standard speaker.then it plays.every time again and again.
how do i fix this?

Me too.  It shows that it connects and briefly reads "Connected" and then quickly switches to "Not Connected".  My Windows Phone 8, when trying to connect to Windows 8.1 PC via Bluetooth is doing the same thing and I
receive this both from the PC and the phone.  My phone does successfully connect to my Bluetooth speaker, but not from the PC only from the phone.   Has this been fixed yet and I missed it?  One thing
I've learned while being a part of a smaller market share having had a Windows Phone for several years now, the solutions come quietly and sometimes go unnoticed.  Only later will I find myself thinking, "Oh yeah it works now, they've created a solution".
Case in point: Red Laser stopped working then shortly thereafter there was the Eye icon available at the Bing screen that can scan just about anything that can be scanned.  Is there a similar thing happening with my Bluetooth device drivers from my 8.1
PC and I need to manually push something?  When there is a solution, will you please alert me and the rest of this thread?  Thanks much in advance!

  • Bluetooth speaker does not appear in "playback devices" list

I'm having trouble controlling my new Auvio HBT2000W speaker via bluetooth from my Y580 ideapad running Windows 8.1.  They successfully pair, but the speaker does not appear in the "playback devices" to output my audio to.  This may be related, but when in "devices and pritners", if I right click on the Auvio HBT2000W and select "control", the window that pops up (shown below) always closes after about 2 seconds. I have tried all the unpairing/repairing, restarting, etc.I've tried updating the bluetooth driver with the one posted on this website.I've disabled the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on the Qualcomm Atheros AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)I've made sure that all "services" are enabled in the properties window for the Auvio HBT2000W.I've even tried the Windows troubleshooter... which of course says that everything is fine and working properly. Anyone seen this before or have any ideas? Thanks!

  • Time Capsule does not connect automatically

I have a Time Capsule 1TB. On it, I have my iTunes library so I am able to sync it between all my computer on my network (Windows PC Desktop and MacBook Air). When I start my MacBook Air and click and open iTunes it says the iTunes library can't be found. I then have to go into Finder, click on on the Time Capsule, and have it connect. At that pont 9 times out of 10, i can open iTunes without the message coming up. This does not occur on my Windows PC at all, I open iTunes with no issue.
How can I have my Time Capsule connect automatically when I start up ? An applescript maybe ? I am running the most recent version of OS X Lion.

Mount the Time Capsule disk.  Open the Users & Groups panel of System Preferences.  If the lock in the lower-left is "closed", click on it to authenticate.  Click the "Login Items" tab toward the right.  Drag the icon of the Time Capsule disk from the Desktop onto the login items window. Quit System Preferences.
That volume should now mount whenever you start your Mac.

  • TS1398 iPhone 4 does not connect automatically and does not remember wifi password

After being idle for a while, my iPhone 4 goes off wifi and when I am connecting manully, the phone does not remember the wifi password. I have a iPhone 3 and 5 where this is not a problem. Can this be linkes to the phone company you use? The iPhone 4 has a different phone company than the other phones. Can anyone help please?

    Hi Damien,
      Thanks for your reply.
I had not created 2 separated wireless network. The airport extreme has had create wireless allowing it to be extended and the airport express has had it to extend since day 1.
The only device that does not connect to the airport express when it is far from the airport extreme here is the iPhone 4. I've tested 2 Windows based computers, 2 Macs, 1 Samsung TV and 1 Android phone and they all are able to connect to the airport express when the signal from the airport extreme is weak (please take a look on the screen shots on the original post).
The screenshots of the 2 devices' wireless set up can be found below:
       Airport Extreme
      Airport Express
I have seen other people here on the Apple discussions complaining about the same issue with their iPhone 4 and iPad: would it be a iOs problem?

  • Wifi does not connect automatically after sleep

Since installing Yosemite on my Mid 2011 iMac - when my computer wakes from sleep mode, it does not automatically connect to the wifi.  I have to select the network to join from the top menu bar.  Is there anyway to make it connect automatically like it use to?  Thanks for any and all help!

    Hello ffmed124,
The steps detailed below can help get your iMac to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network automatically after waking from sleep.
Check your TCP/IP settings in the Network pane of the System Preferences. Click the "Renew DHCP lease" button
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Network from the View menu.
Select Wi-Fi, then click the Advanced button in the lower-left hand corner of the screen.
Click the TCP/IP tab from the top of the screen.
Click the "Renew DHCP lease" button.
Select the Wi-Fi tab and view your Preferred Networks list.
Select each network and click the minus (-) sign to remove those networks from your Preferred Networks list.
Click OK and close the Network preferences.
Remove your stored network passwords using the Keychain Access Utility.
Open Keychain Access from /Applications/Utilities. Your window will look like this:
Remove your AirPort network passwords from the login keychain: Select the "login" keychain from the Keychain sidebar. Click the "Kind" column to order the list of keychain items by their type. Remove all entries of the kind: "AirPort network password".
Remove your AirPort network passwords from the System keychain: Select the "System" keychain from the Keychain sidebar. Click the "Kind" column to order the list of keychain items by their type. Remove all entries of the kind: "AirPort network password".Note: The above steps will remove your Wi-Fi network passwords. If you do not know them, or if your network does not use passwords to restrict access, you should contact your network administrator.
    Restart your computer.
Join your Wi-Fi network. You will need to enter your password for your network again if it requires one.

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

  • N900 Bluetooth headphone does not connect!

I am having a problem with my n900 pairing with the advanced audio on my Motorola S805 headphones.
I can pair as a headset (inferior sound quality),sometimes, after I get the error "connection failed to Motorola s805"
The Bluetooth icon appears blue and the headset icon appears, but advanced audio does not play through the headphones!
    PLEASE HELP ME!
    Don

Just been having a look around, and someone has started a thread at Talk Maemo about the same headphones. s805 and N900 A2DP. Doesn't look promising , but there's a workaround in the thread. Far from ideal though.
And the N900 isn't featured in the Motorola Pairing Simulator s805 Pairing Sim. If the firmware is flashable on the s805 Moto may come up with a fix in the future.
Not sure what else to suggest.

  • Bluetooth mouse does not connect

    Surface Pro 2; Win 8.1
    Built-in Bluetooth
I am attempting to connect a Bluetooth mouse to the surface when working at my desk. I have Bluetooth turn on and it keeps scrolling ... searching.
I have 2 Bluetooth mice that I am trying to get to connect:
    1. Verbatim model 96991 (no transceiver)
    2. Microsoft wireless mobile 3500 (with transceiver). I loaded Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard center. When run, cannot find device. I did not connect the transceiver because I want the internal stack to work.
I wish to use internal surface Bluetooth stack.
What do I do to get MS mouse working on surface 2 Pro win 8.1 with internal Bluetooth stack (no transceiver)
    John Lenz

MS Bluetooth mouse (w/USB) will not connect natively to Surface2 PRO.
Another Bluetooth mouse (no USB) does but does not sustain connection. I'll use this one.

  • Bluetooth mouse does not reconnect automatically

Here's the problem I have: I pair a Logitech bluetooth mouse to my MacBook Air (original version). It works fine. If I turn off the mouse and turn it back on, it reconnects fine. If I sleep the MacBook Air and wake it up, it reconnects file. Everything is fine, that is, until I reboot the MacBook Air.
After a reboot, now the mouse will not reconnect automatically. In order to get it to connect, I have to go to the bluetooth assistant and choose the mouse and tell it to reconnect (or sometimes I have to repair it again if that doesn't work.) And this behavior will repeat - every time the mouse is turned off or the MacBook Air sleeps and wakes up, I have to go through this manual reconnection to get the mouse to work again - it is a major pain, especially since the mouse will go into sleep mode on its own to conserve battery power if it sits ilde for a while, and once that happens, then I have to go an reconnect manually again.
The only way to get it working again is to delete all bluetooth preferences, reboot, and then add the mouse back and pair it again. Everything will once again work properly until the next reboot, when it will be messed up again.
I have three different bluetooth mice - two Logitech (they sent me a replacement, thinking the mouse was defective because of this problem) and one Targus - I've tried using each one (separately), and they all exhibit this problem, so it's not the mouse.
I'm running 10.5.5 and do have the bluetooth firmware update installed for the MacBook Air.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there a way to fix it permanently that lasts across reboots? Is it a hardware issue with the MacBook Air?
    Thanks,
    -Mike

Hi Gang, I am having a similar issue.
I only have one Apple Bluetooth mouse paired with my MacBook. On the other 4 iMac machines in the office, we don't seem to have this pairing problem.
However, when I leave the office, close up my laptop and return the following day, I have to go into Sys. Prefs. to "refind" my bluetooth mouse. Humbug. Why doesn't the OS recognize this mouse automatically? Can anyone from Apple kindly assist? Support Board Guru?
    Thanks,

    Hi Tom
Do these look OK to you?
    I am afraid not yet.
Ok the Airport device is certainly doing DHCP on your Net and this is the device that the computers can see as being closest.
In the Internet tab it also says it is getting it's IP from the Internet side also by DHCP. Now this could be from the Modem.
It could be from the ISP(Internet) if the Modem is in Bridge mode.
In the Internet tab are there any IP addresses visible ?
Do they start with 192.168.xxx.xxx or similar to the Airport itself 10.xxx.xxx.xxx or 172.(16-32).xxx.xxx (an odd part group that last one)
This would mean the modem was also a DHCP server (not good)
Or do they match the nuber you are shown when you go here
This will mean the modem is most likely in Bridge (good)

  • Mac does not connect automatically to known Networks

    hi,
recently my Macbook has stoped reconnecting to my wifi when I open the lid and I have to do it manually.
    any idea to solves this?
    thks
    regards

Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take all the applicable steps in this support article.
    Step 2
If you're running OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and take the remedial steps suggested in the summary that appears, if any. The program also generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. Continue if you find that Wi-Fi is faster with Bluetooth disabled.
From that same menu, select Open Bluetooth Preferences. If the box labeled Discoverable is checked, uncheck it. Click the Advanced button, and in the sheet that opens, uncheck the top three boxes, if any are checked. Click OK. Enable Bluetooth and test again.
If the application called "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" is running, quit it.
    Step 4
This step will erase all your settings in the Network preference pane. Make a note of them before you begin, and recreate them afterwards. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the preference pane.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "SystemConfiguration" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 5
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
