Bluetooth Speaker Issues

I have an iMac11,1 Core i7, 27" running 10.6.8.  I have an external bluetooth speaker that I just started using with this mac.  A few issues:
1) When I turn the speaker on, it connects automatically, but it connects in Mono - which has TERRIBLE sound quality.  I have to manually disconnect it and reconnect in Stereo.  Is there a way for it to automatically connect in Stereo?
2) There is a slight delay in the audio, about a half to a full second.  For example, if I'm watching a video, the sound from the bluetooth is delayed.  If I disconnect the bluetooth (while letting the video run), the sound is synced when the internal speakers come on; then if I reconnect the bluetooth, it's delayed again.
3) Is there any way to play through both internal speakers AND bluetooth at the same time? (while of course, being synchronized wrt #2 above)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mark, my issue was a result of too much fatigue and too few brains. I had merely forgotten to turn on pairing on my bluetooth device. Once I realized my idiotic mistake, it worked immediately. Don’t know what the problem on your side could be. I believe the newest bluetooth technology (iPhone 6) is backward compatible with the oldest bluetooth technology (headphones) so it should work. Might want to check out this link iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections Good luck!

  • Mac will not play sound through JBL Bluetooth speaker

My MacBook Pro will connect to the Bluetooth speaker, but refuses to play the sound through it. Seems like it isnt just me who has this issue. What can I do to connect it? Please help.
Note: It works fine with other devices.

UPDATE: Fixed this by simply disconnecting the speaker, turning the volume up full then reconnecting. Saw it on another post, didnt think it would work but surprisingly it did. Very Strange.

  • External bluetooth speaker volume to low

    Hello,
I have an external bluetooth speaker from jawbone called jambox. From the start on I had the normal speaker volume like I also stil have it if I connected the bluetooth speaker with my iPod touch. But some day ago, the volume from my whole Mac (not just from iTunes) dropped through my Jawbone. It is not just about 40% of that, what I know of, that the Jawbone Jambox is able to bring.
This problem exists through all audio / video programs on my Macbook Pro. So like in iTunes, also in VLC or MplayerX. Everywhere. The software sound of MacOS Lion is on maximum. Also the sound control of the jambox itself is reached. It seems like there is a protection against to high volume anywhere turned on which just do not allow me to turn up the volume beyond a specifc point of db.
But, I can only repeat: The speaker is in a good shape. I am able to play music much more louder with my iPod paired. But just not with my macbook. I am looking for a "hidden" option to disable the maximum volume limitation of my Mac to the speaker.
Would be happy if anyone know a solution for that issue...

    Same issue
Works fine on my HTC thunderbolt, Even works fine on my brothers Mac (same year and OS build).
My audio used to work fine through my bluetooth adapters but now the audio is way lower than it should be. This is a recent problem, it worked fine before. I believe an update may have cuased this, then again my brothers mac is working just fine even after the update. I even tried switching the bluetooth adapter and it still has the problem so I know its my Mac.
    Please fix this issue...
Me and my brother Both have 2011 Macbook Pros, running 10.7.4 and the adapters are Blackberry adapters used to receive the audio from my mac and play through my home entertainment system via aux jack from the bluetooth adapter.

  • Bluetooth speaker will not pair

My JBL Flip 2 Bluetooth speaker will no long pair or connect to my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012, 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7, OS X Yosemite 10.10.3).
    I have tried:
Following the instructions provided with the speaker
    Resetting my PRAM
    Restarting the computer
    Restarting the speaker
    Restarting Bluetooth
Restarting the computer with Bluetooth disabled and re-enabling it
    Screaming at it
    Repairing disk permissions
Removing the original pairing that was not connecting
Now it will not even pair. Its not even being detected.
My iPhone 5S detects it without issue. It was not working, then it was, now its not working again. I can airdrop between my Macbook and my iPhone without issue.
    Please, please help. Gah.

Do you have the other device that it was paired with? Sometimes you have to un-pair a device before you can pair with another. For the iPad you do this by douching the button that say forget this device. Removing the battery from the speakers for a little while may also work.

  • Bluetooth speaker - JBL Flip . Bluetooth discovers it but is unable to pair

The speaker is recognized as JBL Flip and says ready to pair.  I click on it and click on pair.  It fails and  disappears.  The bluetooth continues to search and finds it again... and I get the same results.  It works when directly plugged into speaker jack.

  • Creative d200 bluetooth speaker with the Z10

I've been using this great little speaker in the kitchen for a while now, with:-
    Torch 9800 / 9810
    Playbook
Works fine on them, but the Z10 wont play ball. I know the phone works with the blackberry media bluetooth in the car, and streams fine. Finds an 'audio device' but sits there for a while and refuses to pair.
    Any ideas?

Annoying I-fone boys, one feature at a time.

    Hey deuxflower,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
What version of BlackBerry 10 are you currently running?  This can be found under Settings>About.  Also is the Bluetooth speaker in pairing mode when you're trying to connect to it?  Try removing the battery from the BlackBerry Z10 and place it back in and try to pair.
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • Yosemite - Bluetooth speaker stops working

I have an issue where my Bluetooth speaker stops working.  It shows up on the devices list under Bluetooth but when I try to connect it does not do anything.
Rebooting fixes the problem.   But then the next day when I try to use the speaker again it does not work.
This started happening with the upgrade to Yosemite.
    Please advise, thanks,
    OS X 10.10.1.  MacBook Pro 15" Retina mid 2012

Scratch that.  Things have improved in 10.10.2 - I am able to reconnect to the Bluetooth speaker more often, but it does sometimes fail and I have to reboot.

  • Bluetooth speaker suddenly is too silent

I have a bluetooth speaker connectet with my ipad2. It worked always well. Since a few weeks, when I want to listen to the music on my ipad with the bluetooth speakers, the sound is very silent. The same with every app: radio app, music app and so on. I already had a look into my settings, but everything is fine.
I Also connected my ipod with these speakers, and there, the music sound is loud as ever. So it must have something to do with the ipad.
    ANybody an idea?

  • MUSIC SKIPPING OR PLAYING TOO FAST WHEN PAIRED WITH A BLUETOOTH SPEAKER?

    Hi
I am writing to help others with this problem - there seem to be a number of posts about this, which have not been resolved.
I have just bought a Veho bluetooth speaker, which pairs and works perfectly with my brother's phone.  However, although it does pair with my iPhone 4S, when I playback any music from my library, it sounds like a chipmunk is singing - it plays far too quickly and sometimes skips large parts of the song.
This is a firmware issue but can easily be solved by downloading the free app 'TuneMob' from the store (it is free).  You can simply add albums from your library to its interface and it plays them perfectly through any speaker, irrespective of which OS you have installed.  I hope this helps you!

Try resetting the PMU/SMU and PRAM/NVRAM. You'd need to identify the mode of resetting depending on the model of your G5 iMac. The Apple support sites that would help you for this are –

  • Logitech Bluetooth Speaker Adapter Update OS X?

Hi, i bought a logitech z506 5.1 speaker system for my mbp and with it i got a Logitech Bluetooth Speaker Adapter with the set. I then tried to pair my iPhone with the adapter and BAM straight in and playing via bluetooth onto my speakers. But then i tried it with my mbp, no luck, pairs then disconnects and no sound . Phoned logitech and they said that the adapter doesn't work with OS X Lion which is slightly annoying as i just paid £90 for this set and adapter. Anyone know if there will be some sort of update. I doubt it because it is such a small number of people that this effects. Thanks

I am having this problem right now too only difference is that I am using a bluetooth headphone rather than a speaker. The volume is very low and it would disconnect automatically if my bluetooth headphones are not playing any audio. I never had this issue until I updated to 10.7.4. I tried searching for solutions but I couldn't find any. I am hoping as well that someone will find a workaround about this issue.

  • Bluetooth speaker and iTunes

    Hi,
I have a Bose Bluetooth speaker on my Mac Mini which I run a 24/7 radio station.  I noticed that when I turn off the speaker, iTunes stops playing music.  While this would be nornal for anyone else, is there a way for iTunes NOT to go off when I turn the speaker OFF.
    Thanks,
    Dan Uff

I have same issue once I loaded Yosemite.  The worst part is that The Apple store sells the Bose Mini.....   I love my Bose Mini and I fear I will never be able to use it again.
Apple Product Manager should be fired for this travesty.    The quality control around this product launch is suspect....Blue Tooth is one of the major tools most people are using these days....get with the program Apple!!!!!
