Bluetooth speakers for macbook?

anyone suggest a good pair of blue tooth speakers for the macbook?

while i can't suggest a good pair for you to buy, i can suggest a pair that you definitely shouldn't buy. I bought the Sharper Image Bluetooth Speakers about a month ago for my MacBook, and for some reason they do not work (even though the manual says the speakers are compatible with Apple computers). Whenever I try to detect the speakers from my MacBook, it just says that they "do not have the necessary services." I've tried countless times to get support from the Sharper Image people, who have been of absolutely zero help--I'm guessing that it must be some Bluetooth compatibility issue with the MacBook. If anyone has suggestions on what I can do to fix this problem though, I'd be greatly appreciative!
moral of the story--be very careful when buying Bluetooth items for your Mac...there seem to be a lot of unresolved issues with certain Bluetooh devices.

  • Bluetooth Chat for MacBook?

    Hello,
I'm playing a a few nights at a festival this summer and will be using my macbook with Mainstage 2 for one of my keyboards. I could really do with getting an app for my macbook that would allow me to communicate with the techies (also using a macbook).
Is there an app which has the following features?
    - Free, or cheap
    - Does NOT require internet for use. (Communicates via bluetooth?)
    - Instant Messaging style chat windows- type and hit enter to send immediately.
    - No alert sounds OR sounds that can be muted completely.
    - Quick
    Thanks

  • Bluetooth speakers for Inspiron 3847

I just bought this computer for my Mom and I would love to have some nice bluetooth speakers instead of wired speakers. I have no idea how to pair as there isn't any Bluetooth utility or program installed that I can see. When I search for Bluetooth all I get is an empty folder and an uninstall selection. But I cant find any program..I am using win 7 pro. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated! Any good Bluetooth speakers out there? Thank you so much for your time..Shellie

    Hi Shellie,
I can't help you with which speakers are good but here is a link to bluetooth support article that may help you figure out which utility / software application to run to connect bluetooth equipment.  There are links on that page to select the Windows version you're running.
Let me know if you have any other questions about bluetooth in general.  And maybe if I bump this post a bit someone else will notice and have some advice on the best speakers to buy.
    Have a good day,
    Todd

  • Forgot bluetooth passcode for macbook

I haven't used my bluetooth on my MacBook for a few years and can't remember the passcode to connect to my Iphone 5.  How do I find it?

Have you tried pairing your phone with another phone?
If it pairs using any random code you can think of then the phone is working normally, if it doesn't pair then something is wrong.
If it does pair then the problem is obviously with your pc.

  • Can I link an iPad to bluetooth speakers - for a wireless sound system

    Hi
Can I link an iPad to bluetooth speakers to have a wireless sound system?
    What bluetooth speakers are available?

Yes. Here's a link. Google shows a bunch. Beware though some are just bluetooth linking the left or right speaker and requires you to plug into the not-bluetooth-linked-speaker.

  • Buying Speakers for Macbook Pro- What will work?

Hey everyone. I'm planning to buy some speakers for my MBP and I was wondering what would actually work with it. I found these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002SQ0A4/ref=ordcartshr/102-9468188-4168941?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance&n=172282
which seem to be a very good price for a pretty good item, and I was wondering if they would work. Is there a converter I would need to buy? If they don't work, then where could I find some speakers that do work?

Computer speakers usually plug into the headphone line out jack. So, yes, if this is how these speakers connect they will work. Some speakers need component audio (the red and white RCA type plugs), if this is required you can buy a converter at Radio Shack for ~$5.

  • Best portable speakers for macbook?

Any sugguestions for portable speaker for my new MacBook?  I just got a BIGJambox but I'm very disappointed.  It sounds tinny and won't stay connected via bluetooth.  Don't necessarily need bluetooth but quality sound would be nice.

As sound is a very subjective thing, it's hard to say which sound best but if you're looking for portable speakers, I would say either TravelSound 400 or TravelSound 250. I prefer the TravelSound 400 over the 250 model.

  • Looking for ext speakers for MacBook Pro

My built-in speakers go off a lot so looking for some speakers under $100 street price (could be used) to go with my MacBook Pro.  I listen to wide variety of music but the only ones I've tried so far, Logitech Z320's had no treble or upper midrange and I was very disappointed with their performance.  Don't need to sound like $200+ speakers, just something that can take the place of the ones in the MacBook so I am not tied to my headphones all the time.

Well… on the Windows front the MBP will run as well as any other PC laptop with a similar spec so on that you should have no problems. However, there are a couple of little quirks to running Windows on a Mac (mainly keyboard and mouse) but these are very minor.
As for the game, compare to other PC hardware with a similar spec. That should give you an idea of the system requires for any game you're interested in.
is it the answer, I think it's as good as, if not better, than any other option tyou have given there are few other that will run Max OS X.

  • Bluetooth headset for Macbook

Hi, anybody knows any kind of bluetooth head set which is compatible with macbook for audio conference? Can you please share your knoledge, it will be very useful for me. Is it possible to do a wire free audio conference .
    Thanks in advance.

    1) I have two new MacBook Pro Unibody Aluminum Late 2008 models. I can replicate this problem on both units.
    2) I am using Skype 2.7.0.330.
    3) I've tested this with MacOS 10.5.5 and 10.5.6
If I set up a bluetooth Headset and use it with Skype, it degrades into illegible audio in about 5 minutes. Only a reboot of the Mac cures it. At worst, it even locks up the OS and the stack trace on the report sent to Apple shows some of the BT methods/stack as the culprit. A reboot of the Headset does not help restore legible audio.
I have tried three brands and models of BlueTooth Headsets:
    Plantronics 510
    Jabra BT 250v
    Motorola H350
All headsets exhibit the same problem. Problem can be replicated on both MBPs. This worked just fine on the old 2007 MBP.
I even went so far as to just play music through the BlueTooth headsets via iTunes. The audio starts chopping up around 5 minutes of use. Again, only a reboot of the Mac helps.

  • Bluetooth speakers for tv

I have a large room and would like to connect speakers to my Vizio 47 smart tv wireless. To be installed wireless , behind my headboard. Is there a way to do this?

    Hello, Okeegirl
If you're looking for a speaker to sync up with a bluetooth ready television, you could go for an option like this.
If you're looking for something like a home theatre system with more power, Geek Squad can help you with the installation of a full system. They can hide any exposed wires for you, advise you on different models for your viewing area, as well as help you get optimal positioning for sound. You can call or set up an appointment for them to come to you here.

  • Good bluetooth mouse for MacBook

I just got a MacBook Pro and I'm looking for a good bluetooth mouse. I use a Logitech Wireless Anywhere Mouse MX on my other computers and really like it, but it uses up one of the USB ports, which isn't the end of the world. But if there's a good blueetooth mouse out there I'd like to give it a try. I read some reviews on the Logitech V470 and it seems decent. It appears to go into power saving mode very quickly, which I think would be annoying. Any recommendations?

Perhaps I am missing something, but I can certainly recommend the Apple Magic Mouse. It works very neatly for me, and because it uses the same "stroking" gestures as on my trackpad, it's an easy transition between the two.
Looking at the Logitech mice to which you referred, the only advantage they may have is size - thought the MM is smaller than you think and very portable.

  • Speakers for MacBook

I recently bought a new Black Macbook and am very happy wih everything except the sound. Its just too soft. Now, I wasn't sure where to post this (so my apologies if this is not the right place), but what speakers would you recommend for me? I play guitar (quite loudly I should add), and like to play along with the song sometimes. So I need speakers that are reasonably loud and have good sound. I'm willing to pay anything up to about $400... Anything from the apple store would be great (if you could provide a link to the speakers your refering to, it would help quite alot). Thanks...

    Hi there
I recently got myself an apple ipod speaker, and it is LOUD, I live in a 2 storey house with solid walls, I can hear the speaker in the living room from upstairs and its not even at full volume. Sound quality wise, its acceptable, the old fashion hi-fi system would be better since you can place the speakers at either side of the room. But then there's gona b wires laying around the place, whereas this Apply hi-fi just needs a power cable and an ipod and you are set (it has a sound input in the back for you to plug in other devices like a CD player and of course your macbook).
    And here's a link to the speaker: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=EA7 50468&nplm=M9867LL/A
