Bluetooth suddenly broken?

two days ago, my phone started doing this thing: when it automatically locked, it would stop connecting to my wireless and when I opened System Prefs, it wouldn't load and then System Prefs would crash. I was unable to turn the phone off (the lock button wouldn't work correctly) and only a hard restart would work. I restored factory settings via iTunes.
Now, my Mac Air won't connect via bluetooth. It connects for a second and then the error message appears "The Bluetooth network is unavilalbe. There was an error connecting to your device. Make sure the device is turned on and in range." When I try to connect to the Mac Air from the iPhone's bluetooth menu it says "Connection Unsuccessful. Make sure "MacBook Air" is tuned on and in range." (But the iPhone is right next to the computer and i JUST browsed the device.)
HELP!
1. Bluetooth is on on my iPhone and it says "now discoverable"
2. The device has been located by my computer and is listed in the bluetooth tab.
3. I have installed the latest Mac Air updates (which showed up yesterday)
Also, the iPhone is syncing very slowly. Its been off and on syncing for hours over the last two days and its still not complete (and its only syncing 40 G).
Any advice at all is appreciated!

A few questions before I give you some advice
What model of headset do you have? Where and when did you get it? How long have you owned it?
What happened to the ear hook exactly?
Regardless, I'd recommend you call us directly for advice, since the process can vary by country: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/corporate/common/contact/phonelist They should be able to point you in the right direction!

My bluetooth suddenly stopped working soon after I upgraded to OS 10.9.4. I rebooted SMC, didn't work. Any other ideas? Don't know if it's related to the upgrade. I see other complaints about bluetooth in the thread but none of the solutions offered there have worked for me.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • Bluetooth suddenly unavailable?

I've got a MacBook Pro and my bluetooth suddenly is unavailable.  Disappeared in my system preferences & bluetooth symbol at the top right of my screen now has a line through it and says unavailable when I click on it?  Any ideas?

    Try resetting SMC and pram:

  • Bluetooth suddenly stops working?

Has anyone had the issue where the factory Bluetooth suddenly stops working on the PowerMac G5?
My G5 (Dual 2 gig) has been working like a champ, and suddenly during use or when it is attempting to sleep, will seem to "lose" the computer. The computer in System Preferences can still see the bluetooth power levels, they appear to be paired, but moving the mouse and/or keyboard does nothing.
A reboot seems to be the only thing that clears it. The only recent addition was a wired USB camera cradle, and the problem did seem to start around then, but I don't know why that would impact Bluetooth. Any ideas?

The problem turned out to be a combination of RF and a hardware problem.

  • Bluetooth suddenly disabled

Hi.  I have been using my Bluetooth on my phone to connect to my in-car satnav and for other purposes for well over a year without problems.  However it has suddenly stopped working and when I go into Bluetooth it says "Bluetooth disabled".  When I click on the Enable Bluetooth option, nothing happens.  I contacted Rogers and they tried replacing all the software but to no effect and all they can tell me is to buy a new phone as this one is out of warranty!  Any ideas on how to get Bluetooth working again as I have another 18 months on my Rogers contract before I can find a replacement cell provider?!  Thanks

Hello andrewmarre and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
You can try to clear your Bluetooth database as shown in KB10167 and re-pair the connections.
If that doesn't work, try doing a factory reset as shown in KB18998. Be sure to back up your BlackBerry before doing the reset as all data will be deleted.
Before restoring any data, try to pair the Bluetooth.
Let me know how you make out.
    Thanks!

  • Suddenly broken: "To execute 'save as PDF' command you must have Acrobat Distiller 5.05 or higher"

I've been using FM9 with Acrobat Pro 9 just fine for months on end, and suddenly FM9 "forgot" about Acrobat Pro 9. I've reinstalled the entire suite TWICE.
Googling the error messages reveals that this is a very very old problem; I'm quite surprised to see it again in TCS. But all the suggestions I've read so far have not worked.
    Any new ideas?
BTW, this is one reason why I am not planning to buy TCS for my entire team; at least not until these sorts of problems are fixed.
    -Dee

    Dee, a couple of thoughts:
    2) The workarounds, using .ps and Distiller, or print-to-the PDF  driver, result in a PDF with broken links. None of the FM9 hypertext  links work, not even the TOC. This is what I'll have to ship to my  customers, a PDF with broken links.
In the FM Print dialog box, did you activate the Generate Acrobat Data checkbox and uncheck the Print to File checkbox? You need to Generate Acrobat data to enable hyperlinks.
    3) I had installed all the  updates... old Forum posts suggested that the updates might be the  problem! So I've tried it both with and without the updates...
It's possible. However, forum posters tend not to be mainstream users... so I'd suppose that the updates work for >95% of users, who don't have any reason to post because the updates work.
Also, as noted before, you didn't provide any system information... but if you're on XP, I'm assuming you installed the Microsoft HotFix for PostScript printers (including PDFs).

  • Bluetooth suddenly not available?

I've never had a problem before, but all of a sudden when I go to the bluetooth icon on the menu bar, it says bluetooth:not available.
Help!! I need it to work!

Trash your com.apple.bluetooth.plist in ~/Library/Preferences/ file, then shut down and reset the PMU of your macbook. Had a similar problem before.

  • Flash site suddenly broken

-I made this site in Flash with GAIA several years ago/there have been no updates to the site  for at least 8 months and suddenly none of the sub-navs are loading! i am assuming this is an issue with flashplayer updates across browsers (cause when i tested in firefox BEFORE updating it worked and google + safari were updated and it was broken in them/and it works locally when i re-published all the swfs in flash for fp 10)-arghh--i am at a loss what to do now  /
    this is the site:
    http://medriemacphee.com
if anyone can offer suggestions/tips?/ i appreciate your consideration. thanks.

Did you update your flash player debugger executable to the latest 11.7? You say it works locally if you publish for FP10, does it work online published for FP10 as well? Also try running the actual debugger version of the flash player (e.g. on win not just CTRL+ENTER (old player), use the debugger CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER). See if it messes up for that.
Per your PM, I'd prefer you keep your information here rather than private messages. It lets others help out. I'm still in the process of moving a house several states away and I've been on and off for a couple months during that.
As for the XML you showed me, it has no syntactical issues. I was able to parse it in Flash and extract info so that part works fine. What would really be useful is the errors you must get inside Flash Pro itself when it tries to load these images. I feel it's just not finding the images. I think if you use the latest 11.7 debugger, because your issue is based on the "latest" player, you'll see some useful IOErrorEvents that can help diagnose the issue.

  • Bluetooth suddenly no longer works

All of a sudden, bluetooth has utterly failed on my wife's Mac Pro. I have no idea why. The USB Bluetooth host adapter shows up under the system profiler, but the bluetooth tab simply says "no information."
    ***?!

Turns out there was a USB device plugged in that was causing this.

  • Apple Bluetooth keyboard broken (with technical sollution)

    Hello,
I've got a bluetooth apple keyboard (the Dutch alu small version).
Using rechargeable batteries I sometimes have to replace them.
When I do replace the batt. the keyboard won't work, no green led comes up.
also tried the caps-lock to check, but this also won't light-up.
So, Thinking it was the batteries, tried some new ones, and they work.
At this time I thought also the problems would be the batteries, but it wasn't.
I've change the batteries a few times this year, and sometimes the keyboard worked, and sometime it didn't. Until a few days after warranty (23-dec-08) it stopt working.
I've tried changing batteries over and over again.
I've checked the voltage of the batteries, and they where fine.
A store told me, no warranty, buy a new one.
So first I wan't to know what the problem is, so I disassembled the keyboard and made a few pictures so you would also know how to.
The problem is: The power of the batteries never reaches the circuit-board.
I can disassemble a few things, but I can't get out the main-problem part.
I think it's the springy thing in the batterie compartment, which does not give through the + voltage, the - was okay (checked with resistanse measuring).
I've read a few problems with this keyboard..... What should I do next?
    The keyboard costed 80,- Euro's...
I would like to change it for an usb version as I don't trust the bluetooth's anymore because of this (I found) mechanical error in design.

An update about the broken keyboard.
I called the Dutch Aple store helpdesk phone number. The person was very friendly, asked me about some products that I owned and tried to solve it via the normal procedures and asked for an exeption.
But like normal procedures: The keyboard was 15 months young, so 3 month over warranty
They did not took the exeption for a keyboard of 80,- euros.
I told them I was happy with a cabled keyboard (half cheaper for apple, and because I don't trust the bluetooth inside wiring).
It would cost apple almost nothing for a wired keyboard.
In a few years I bought a mac-pro, and 2 macbooks, I thought they would help me out over a few euro's.
    Next step:
The friendly person tried to call Customer Relations Ireland, but they were close at the moment I'll have to call back tomorrow.
    Backup step:
Cut open the alu part which blocks my way of repairing the keyboard.
Will take some time, but the fix will cost a few drops of soldering stuff.
At least this approach boosts the trust in online shopping
via the apple store I must say. Now, let's hope they can help me out.

  • Bluetooth faxing broken in 10.4.8

I use my cellphone to fax things, via bluetooth. It's a great technology, which has been a lot of fun...but it has stopped working since upgrading to 10.4.8 on both my Powerbook G4 and my PowerMac G5.
The "classic" way to set this up:
    * System Prefs -> Print and Fax
    * Click "+" to add something; option-click "More printers..."
    * Choose "Advanced," then Device: "Bluetooth-Modem", and Printer Model: "Other"
    * Navigate to /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/PrintCore.f ramework/Resources/English.lproj/Fax.ppd
    * Click OK a bunch, and it works.
...but now, it only faxes part of a page, then quits, and says that the fax is "on hold" in the Bluetooth-Modem application.
My cellphone is a Motorola e815, though that shouldn't matter because the same phone worked in 10.4.7 just fine...
    Any help is most appreciated!
    Powerbook G4, PowerMac G5, a few beige G3's   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

To attempt to resolve this issue try the following suggestions...
    1. Open Disk Utility, located in the Applications->Utilities folder. Select your boot volume and click "Verify Disk".
    2. Using Disk Utility select your boot volume and click "Repair Permissions".
    3. Download and apply the Combo update. This version of the 10.4.8 update is much larger than the one the Software Update application offers because it will update any version of OS X 10.4.x. It refreshes ALL files that have changed since the original version of 10.4. A good percentage of people find that applying the Combo update resolves problems. Of course make sure you download the Intel version for your Mac Book.
The above suggestions are pretty much standard troubleshooting procedures. Hopefully one will do the trick. If not the next step is to start looking for preference files that may have been corrupted during the update.
If you are an experienced troubleshooter and have already tried these tips I apologize.

  • IPod suddenly broken?

I got my iPod fixed somewhere where I obviously shouldn't have, and I'm now having the following problems:
Extremely weak wifi - The wifi is much poorer than it normally is. Before, I could get wifi in my room (2nd floor) and now I can barely get 1 bar in the room next to the router (basement)
Home button slipping - While my home button isn't popping out, it slips and the tech behind it can be seen. :C
Date? - When I got the iPod back the date was something like Jan 1 1970.
More problems will likely arise, but for now I am out $160 and have a broken iPod. Please help.

Take it back to where you got it "fixed".
Take it to another third-party place.
    Apple will not help
