Bluetooth suddenly disabled

Hi.  I have been using my Bluetooth on my phone to connect to my in-car satnav and for other purposes for well over a year without problems.  However it has suddenly stopped working and when I go into Bluetooth it says "Bluetooth disabled".  When I click on the Enable Bluetooth option, nothing happens.  I contacted Rogers and they tried replacing all the software but to no effect and all they can tell me is to buy a new phone as this one is out of warranty!  Any ideas on how to get Bluetooth working again as I have another 18 months on my Rogers contract before I can find a replacement cell provider?!  Thanks

Hello andrewmarre and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
You can try to clear your Bluetooth database as shown in KB10167 and re-pair the connections.
If that doesn't work, try doing a factory reset as shown in KB18998. Be sure to back up your BlackBerry before doing the reset as all data will be deleted.
Before restoring any data, try to pair the Bluetooth.
Let me know how you make out.
Thanks!

It sounds like your laptop is  possibly overheating ,which will cause a shutdown. Have you checked your cooling fan to be sure it is working? Cleaned the vents/ports with compressed air to increase airflow?
How to prevent and deal with overheating

  • Safari trackpad gestures font resize suddenly disabled in 10.8.2 after update? Can't find way to re-enable.

Hello, I rarely come here for help but I am really puzzled...
Safari trackpad gestures font resize were suddenly disabled in 10.8.2 and I wonder if it was after a recent update?
Can't find way to re-enable. Checked everywhere (Touchpad, Accessibility, etc.).

I had a similar problem with my mac. I connect via Airport and one day after I updated some 3rd party software I had the same experience with Software update. I also couldn't connect using Safari however Firefox worked fine and as expected the Network was hooked up and running fine. I didn't try adding an Administrator account which sounds like a good idea since I just did a backup of my system the night before. I cloned my mac from my external drive and everything worked fine. I believe that a system file was corrupt which was causing my problems. So if the new Administrator account doesn't work it's a system wide problem and you options would be to archive and install or using a backup if one is available. Good luck.

  • Bluetooth is disabled by your administrator after update to OS 10.2.1.537

I just updated to the 10.2.1.537 software release yesterday and noticed today that I was not able to use my bluetooth headset.  I then noticed my bluetooth was disabled and when I tried to enable it, it shows on the screen 'Bluethooth is disabled by your administrator'.  What is this all about and how can I enable my bluetooth?  It was working before the upgrade.  This is my personal phone and not a corporate phone.  Please help.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Did you try to delete the headset from the device? Try to delete it, reboot the device and then try to pair it again

My bluetooth suddenly stopped working soon after I upgraded to OS 10.9.4. I rebooted SMC, didn't work. Any other ideas? Don't know if it's related to the upgrade. I see other complaints about bluetooth in the thread but none of the solutions offered there have worked for me.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • Bluetooth suddenly unavailable?

I've got a MacBook Pro and my bluetooth suddenly is unavailable.  Disappeared in my system preferences & bluetooth symbol at the top right of my screen now has a line through it and says unavailable when I click on it?  Any ideas?

That should not happen. Try a reset by holding the home and power button until the Apple logo appears (about 15-20 seconds).

  • Bluetooth suddenly stops working?

Has anyone had the issue where the factory Bluetooth suddenly stops working on the PowerMac G5?
My G5 (Dual 2 gig) has been working like a champ, and suddenly during use or when it is attempting to sleep, will seem to "lose" the computer. The computer in System Preferences can still see the bluetooth power levels, they appear to be paired, but moving the mouse and/or keyboard does nothing.
A reboot seems to be the only thing that clears it. The only recent addition was a wired USB camera cradle, and the problem did seem to start around then, but I don't know why that would impact Bluetooth. Any ideas?

The problem turned out to be a combination of RF and a hardware problem.

  • HELP - Guest Log In on File Sharing Suddenly Disabled (Grey Out)?

    Hello all.
This is my office MacPro, we have a pool of Macs running graphics and also Avid software. We file share with local network through Apple File Sharing.
By default we would be able to turn on our own Mac's file sharing, and other user would log in to our Public folder > Drop Box ... etc
In Leopard, we are able to designate other folder for file share, which I have done. I disabled my default Public folder for file sharing. And created a folder outside my User folder for file sharing, so that others log into my mac as guest user can access it too.
Actually everything is just fine, other mac users just need to log in as Guest to access my share folder.
But this morning, all of a sudden, without any tweaks or anything, other mac users cannot log in as Guest, the Guest option is grey out.
I have tried disabling file share, enable, re-create a new folder to share or re-enable the default Public folder to share, but the Guest option is still grey out.
    What could have happen?
Need to solve this as soon as I can, thanks and cheers

Thanks - the weekend was very pleasant indeed!
I agree that something seems to awry in the Leopard MBP. The question is "what". The symptoms now are:
    1) iTunes music sharing from MBP is broken
    2) Connecting to Panther Mac via AFP is broken (although one Mac can be connected via IP address)
    3) Machine works well on a Windows network
Based on all of this, I would guess that there is a problem in the "Bonjour" networking of the MBP. You could try:
    1. Using a different account to see if it is local to your user id.
    2. Failing that, removing your com.apple.AppleFileServer.plist and com.apple.AppleShareClient.plist files from /Library/Preferences
Outside of that, I would have to do some more digging.

  • Bluetooth radio disables itself

My wife has a BlackBerry Pearl and since she is not on an enterprise server, I have it set up to connect to our home PC using Bluetooth.  It works beautifully and will perform a wireless sync of her calendar and contacts whenever she is within range of the PC.  The only problem is that the BT radio on the phone has a mind of its own and turns itself off after some time.  I haven't determined if there is any sort of cue for it to turn itself off or not.  I just know that every couple of days, I grab her phone to make sure that she has been syncronizing regularly (of course she doesn't) and the BT radio is off.  I then enable the radio, at which point the PC prompts for a connection and the sync routine then launches.
I've seen other threads in this forum that talk about the BT radio disabling after a period of inactivity when connected to a headset.  I would assume that this is the same problem.  Any answers???

  • Enterprise Manager "Performance" tab is suddenly disabled.

I've been logging onto Enterprise manager using the same credentials for months with
no problem. Today I logged in and I suddenly can't access the performance tab
on EM. I usually logon as sys as sysdba.
I DID change some DB init. parameters, increasing the number of processes and cursor resources but that's it.
Why is my "Performance" tab disabled now ?
How can I get it back ?

Try logging into your OEM again.
Then go to 'setup' in your upper right corner.
Once in the setup screen, go to the left border menu and select "Management Pack Access".
Take a look if you have a check in the box for 'Database Diagnostic', and one for 'Database Tuning'

  • X220T Windows 8. Hotkeys, Bluetooth. Disable touchpad

Just installed the windows 8. All is working fine exept:
Hotkeys. I especially need Fn+F8 or other way to disable the touchpad. How to?
This for me is very important, I use only trackpoint and I ALWAYS touch the touchpad moving the pointer all over. Very very very annoying, I need to disable it.
    Bluetooth is also not working

Some of the Fn hoty keys actually work like Fn+F4 for sleep and F7 for external monitor. But The one for disabling touch tad doesn't.
However, you can disable the trackpad in BIOS. That's what I did after installing Win8 CP and I actually prefer this over the hotkey method.
By tablet button if you mean the 4 buttons on the screen they will work once you install the driver. Just use the win7 x64 driver. I got all three to work correctly.

  • Does use of bluetooth headphones disable your iMac's headphone jack?

I know that if you plug corded headphones into your iMac, your iMac's internal speakers are automatically disabled.
But, if you connect (pair) bluetooth headphones to your iMac, does that disable your iMac's headphone jack?  Or could you use corded and bluetooth headphones simultaneously?

You can use any bluetooth stereo headphones with your Mac (stereo, A2DP, requires Leopard), though Apple doesn't make any or sell any made by third parties.
