Bluetooth toggle on Blackberry 8320

Hello,
I just upgraded from the 8100 Pearl to the 8320 Curve and I notice something not available that I really loved and used frequently on the 8100 Pearl; the Bluetooth toggle app on the applications screen.  I used that often 1-2 times a day to quickly enable/disable as the situation indicated, but now I need to use more steps to get that done.  I already have both convenience buttons set to lock the device and I really want to keep those for security reasons.
Is there any small application from Blackberry that I can load that adds the Bluetooth toggle app to the applications screen?  That would really complete this Blackberry Curve for me.
Thanks
Christopher

  • BlackBerry 8320 4.5 WhatsApp History

    Hi everyone!
I have a BlackBerry 8320 and love it! In fact so much so that I don't want to change to anything else. However I have a problem with an application call WhatsApp, which I'm sure a lot of you here will have used because it is quite popular. It's like BlackBerry Messenger, but I know a lot of people without BlackBerries, so WhatsApp is more universal.
Recently in the new version of WhatsApp (2.5), they added a function which allows you to view a conversation history with a particular person. However this only works on BlackBerry versions 4.6 and above. As far as I know, version 4.6 will not work and is not availble for the 8320. I contacted the makers of WhatsApp and they said that the conversation history will be stored on the device itself and not on their servers. What happens at the moment is that a limited number of messages are stored and the older ones get lost as the conversation continues. This means me having to email to myself the conversation histrory periodically to prevent any history loss. There must be a way around this. Either for WhatsApp to enable the conversation history for BlackBerry 4.5, or BlackBerry 4.6 to be made available on the 8320.
Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions?
    Thanks very much,
    Alicia. x

Nevermind fixed it. Got a java program that reset everything, all data not saved on MicroSD card lost, but no big deal. Phone still unlocked, 4.5 update is even on. Weird...

    Hi...
Pull the battery now and place the phone in a bag of rice to dry it out...
Here is another link on wet blackberries...
If the phone is already dried out, you can send the phone out and have it repaired at the component level.
There are several services that can do this. One is the bbrepairshop in Houston.

  • Blackberry 8320 Model Smartphone

I have a problem with my Blackberry 8320 Smartphone, it recently went down yesterday and it doesn't come on at all and only has a flashing red light that blinks.  Please help me with this if someone knows how on this problem, thanks.  I called T-Mobile customer service and all there going to do is mail me another battery and if that doesn't work, they said that they would change the phone out.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
No data will be lost when doing the following: pull the battery while the device is ON. Replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is fixed.
If that doesn't work, go to the local carrier store and have them test another battery. If it turns out to be
the case, make them give you a NEW battery, typicaly they will try to give you an old one.
If not get a NEW phone not a refurbished model. There maybe a hardware flaw that has caused this.
Then restore the backup you hopefully have, and you should be good to do.

  • Blackberry 8320 malfunctioning

    Hi guys,
my blackberry 8320 has been shutting off to the point where i had to use a backup phone. it shuts off when i try to take pictures, even though sometimes its ok. then it shuts off when im in a middle of a call, or when i just left it idle. i was wondering whats happening, it was okay for the first month, then afterward its becoming like this. im pretty sure it wasnt battery problem because the battery was charged full. when my battery is half charged however, once it found my battery is empty then i reseat the battery, then it shows the battery is half charged.
i first thought i need an OS upgrade, which i just did. from 4.5.0.81 to 4.5.0.174. everything succeed but still shuts down on itself and have to do battery pull to turn it back on.
thanks for the time and help

Try this... place a normal business card under the battery door, on top of the battery, and see if the cutting of persists...
You could just have a loose battery connection. You may need to experiment and cut the card, or slightly thicker card, or a folded piece of normal paper. Try that a few days and see if it continues.

  • Cannot Call on my Blackberry 8320 but can receive calls

I was wondering if I could get some help.
I recently purchased a Blackberry 8320 off of an ebay store from Japan. It is an unlocked phone GSM phone.
I live in Canada and I cannot make calls, it just says "Call Failed" but I can recieve calls and I can send and receive text messages.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    I suggest the following steps:
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you will need to contact your carrier for assistance.

  • BlackBerry 8320 bottom cover.

    Hi everyone!
Please can anyone tell me where I can buy a genuine bottom cover (black) for a BlackBerry 8320? I dropped my BlackBerry and the bottom cover now has a hairline crack. I don't really require the complete housing, just the bottom cover. There's an item on eBay which is what I'm looking for, but I don't think it's a genuine BlackBerry item, and so many not match the colour of the rest of my 8320.

  • Blackberry 8320 Titanium Warranty Matter/Question ?

It was suggested by T-Mobile Blackberry Support that I contact you folks directly in regards to a matter with my Blackberry 8320 Titanium.
My phone is still under warranty.  Ever since I got the phone it has started to develop dust and small particles under the screen and it appears to be well sealed.
The phone has never been dropped or damaged and looks like brand new.
T-Mobile said it is cosmetic and will not replace it, asked me to ask you folks.  This eventually will hamper the screen, you can see the stuff developing and this should be a sealed cover, right ?
These sealed screens should not develop anything under them, that is common sense.
I have seen many other of the same phones and none of them have this issue.
Can you tell me who I can speak to at your company about this.  Thanks .... Trying to find a live person to talk to is near impossible and this should not be the case.
    Bill

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
It is interesting that TM would refer you here for official support -- these forums are a user-to-user support channel, not a user-to-RIM conduit. As such, there is no formal support nor information from RIM officially available here.
FWIW -- Front line support for BB's is, by contract, not provided by RIM. The carriers and authorized resellers are responsible for front line formal support to end users. It is possible to bypass your carrier and seek assistance direct from RIM, but such involves fees since you are bypassing your support agreement with your carrier. The "Support and Services" tab toward the top of these forum pages provide information about that. But, if you do go through your carrier for support, they can escalate into RIM at no fee to you if they so choose to.
So, I suggest you go back to them and call them out on why they are not honoring the support agreement you have with them. Unless, of course, that their determination of cosmetic is final -- in which case, well, they have the final say...and pleading your case can only be done through them.
    Good luck!

can somebody tell me where to DL? thx
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Device operating system releases are "released" by specific carriers once they have certified and trained their support techs, but still, you are able to load to any carrier's same model by following the instructions below.
See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=F1298750ED09618717F9C10EA8D1D3B0
Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
