Me too!
I've posted elsewhere about this issue too.
Cannot get Yosemite (10.10.1) on my MacBook Air and iOS (8.1.1) on my iPhone6 to connect via Bluetooth (for AirDrop).
Won't retype the details that I've already posted on other threads.
I am new to these forums, and wonder if Apple systematically watches these threads to provide fixes to problems that many people are reporting.
Very frustrating that no fix is available for this basic operation.

  • Bluetooth bad with Yosemite ?

    bluetooth bad with Yosemite ?

It goes back a lot further than that, IMO. I have several different devices (MacMini, MacBook Pro, iMac, MacBook Air) and bluetooth remains iffy even after pairing. Devices are typically listed as "not connected" in the popup for a Send even though all are kept discoverable.
With Yosemite, it became worse. I upgraded only the Mini and Pro and tried to send two photos of 1.1 MB each from Mini to Pro this morning. Multiple attempts and no result. There was one attempt where “connected” appeared in the sending window but then actual transmission failed.
I noticed that the MacMini kept trying to send to the destination “Martin’s MacBook Pro (2)” while the Pro calls itself “Martin’s MacBook Pro (16)”. I have never seen this kind of numbering (reminiscent of the numbering of duplicate file names) in previous OS. Can anyone clarify the purpose of it?

Having trouble installing Yosemite, got stuck, can't force e quit, keep repeating this - installing on "Macintosh HD"q

On my 2007 [mid] iMac with 6G RAM -- stuck halfway through for 2hrs. Finally just turned it off and on with button on back of screen.
No problem. It's all good. Just a glitch.

  • Bluetooth poor since Yosemite

Since changing to Yosemite my Bluetooth speaker is experiencing interference similar to that of playing music on vinyl with a nasty scratch on it. I use iTunes Match on a 2011 iMac. I don't get the same interference when my iPad is linked by Bluetooth to the speaker. Is anyone experiencing the same problem and is there anything I can do myself, short of hoping the problem is resolved on a later software upgrade.

    Hi
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have read and carried out the tests as recommended but to no avail. The problem has definitely occurred since installing Yosemite as it played perfectly under Mavericks. Also, if I place my iPad next to the iMac and play through the bluetooth speaker that too plays perfectly. Now whether Yosemite bluetooth is more sensitive than Mavericks or iOS8 I don't know but it is aint right. I guess I'll have to persevere and hope that it clears itself but I am beginning to regret moving to Yosemite (what with the naff, blurred new font and all). Perhaps I'd be better off going back to Mavericks. Trouble is I guess that won't be straightforward in Time Machine and I haven't a clue where to start. I did a final back up prior to Yosemite - not that I knew how to do a full system restore when I did it. Ah well!
    Thanks again

  • How can i fix my wifi and bluetooth issues in yosemite?

Hi, after upgrading to Yosemite I've noticed that my bluetooth trackpad (Logitech t651) and wifi connection are having serious conflicts which result in sluggish trackpad response or occasional wifi connection drops.
I would have some occasional sluggishness with my trackpad in Mavericks but it would never lead to dropping of my wifi connection. Here is a little more about my configuration, my wifi connection is 2.4ghz, I have read that upgrading to 5GHZ would solve this problem but this would of course require me to purchase a new router which I would like to avoid. I have noticed that if i turn off my wifi, my trackpad is 100% smooth and responsive so the two issues are definitely connected. Does anyone have solution to fix this problem that doesn't include changing the wifi broadcast channel (which I've already tried), switching to 5GHZ, or utilizing an ethernet connection? Thanks

I think I'm having a similar problem, my wifi disconnects when a bluetooth device is connected to the MBA.
I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) with WiFi and Apple Trackpad.  I'm unable to use the trackpad(bluetooth) and wifi at the same time.  If I turn off the trackpad then the wifi works fine and if I shutoff the wifi then the trackpad works fine.  This configuration was working fine prior to upgrading to Yosemite.
I experienced the same problem at home and at the office.
    Additional test:
I turned off the bluetooth trackpad and connected my bluetooth headphones to the MBA.  The wifi disconnected as soon as I paired the headphones with the MBA.
I have had no problems with the MBA's keyboard or integrated trackpad.

  • Bluetooth issues on Yosemite

I have a Macbook Pro Retina Mid 2012. Never had any issue before upgrading to Yosemite, but after upgrading my bluetooth does not work anymore if I boot the Mac without keeping the power adapter plugged in. The Bluetooth internal adapter does not recognize any device anymore e(even re-paring does not work).
If I plug the power adapter the situation does not change.
If I disable bluetooth, then disable wifi, than re enable bluetooth, it works. And I can also re enable the wifi.
If I reboot WITH the adapter plugged in, there is no issue at all.
Does anybody have a fix solution?
Clearing the PRAM did not help.

At first my MacBookPro (Yosemite) would not recognize my iHome speaker.  Then, I discovered that I had to have the positioning of the iHome speaker exact - and it would recognize it.
I discovered this accidentally.  It  happened that I had my iPhone by the MacBook Pro while I was trying to pair the laptop with the iHome - and I had the bluetooth window open on the laptop.  I picked up the phone to use, and suddenly the iPhone appeared on the MacBook's Bluetooth screen ready for pairing. The laptop's bluetooth recognized the iPhone and gave me the icon ready pairing with it . I then moved the iPhone a few inches away, and it's icon disappeared from my laptop's bluetooth screen.
So, then I moved the iPhone around until I found which position it needed to be in for the laptop to recognize it.  Then I put the iHome speaker in that same position and tried the pairing again. I turned off the speaker (but not the laptop), turned it on again and pressed the pairing button on the back of the iHome speaker, and then this time the iHome icon did iappear in the MacBook Pro's Bluetooth menu and they successfully paired.

  • Bluetooth not working, yosemite

I have Yosemite installed on a Macbook Pro 15" (mid 2009) and the bluetooth stopped working. I have Apple trackpad/keyboard/mouse and their battery levels are fine. The bluetooth icon in the Apple top menu is grayed out and has a black zigzag line across it. I have restarted my computer a couple times and this doesn't seem to help. What can I try?

fixed it, I think a full shutdown rather than a restart did the trick. I also waited longer between steps.

    Hi dominicevans123!
    Welcome to Sony Community!
Sorry to hear the issue. Were there any changes on the laptop before the issue started? Let's isolate the issue. Kindly follow the troubleshooting guidelines here:
Power cycle - Shutdown the laptop and remove all peripherals -> look for battery off button on the bottom of the laptop -> press and hold the button for 5 seconds. (You can use a safety pin)
    Reset BIOS
Re-install Bluetooth driver in Device Manager. -> Start -> Device Manager -> Look for Bluetooth (sometimes under Network Adapters) -> Right click and choose Uninstall (DO NOT DELETE) -> Restart the unit -> Driver/s will be re-installed.
Uninstall Bluetooth Driver -> go to eSupport and download the driver -> You may also download the updates
Run Windows update and Vaio update
Set Bluetooth to Automatic in Services - Start -> Run -> Type "services.msc" -> Right click all Bluetooth -> Properties -> on Startup type, select Automatic -> Apply, then OK. -> Restart the laptop
    Hope these help.
    Best regards,
    Vincent

  • No Bluetooth available after Yosemite and using Airdrop

After updating to Yosemite the Bluetooth device on my MBP 2011 totally stopped working when I tried to use Airdrop with my iPhone.
I already tried to reset PRAM en SMC a several times, disconnecting everthing, but without any success.
My MBP doesn't recognise the build in hardware.
    HELP!

I  have also tried reinstalling Yosemite, without  success.
Also tried repairing disk permissions, but that didn't work either.

  • Bluetooth no disponible / Yosemite update

  • Email Trouble post Yosemite Install

Hi, since installing the latest Yosemite my email accounts on my mac mobcap pro have stopped working, I've reinstalled etc, but outgoing mail just sits in out box, any ideas or is there a setting that needs to be readjusted since installation.
Incomming email arrives, outgoing just sitsThanks

I am totally in agreement with you. I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Yosemite on the recommendation of a "genius" at the genius bar and have had nothing but trouble ever since. I do not have a business but just want to be able to normally send email. The SMTP outgoing mail is the culprit. It works part of the time and then all of a sudden it won't work. I have spent endless hours with my service provider, I have combed the internet  "helpers" out there who say to do this and that and for the most part, the mail just hangs in the outbox. My latest combination was to click using the TLS Certificate "Apple" option as well as not checking the "allow insecure authentication" along with the 465 port using SSL. Problem is I don't know how long the mail will be able to go through with these preferences checked.  All of this frustration should not have to be. What was wrong with the old email? It worked fine. Seems like Yosemite email should be functional before touting this new system. I am a believer in Apple, thinking that they are the best of the best, but I'm losing my faith. When folks pay more for an great computer they should expect it to work. I am so disappointed.

  • Bluetooth issue since yosemite

    Hi,
Since Yosemite, i can't connect via bluetooth to my Novodio speaker.
I did work a few times but it was lagging and now, it absolutely doesn't work anymore.
    Please help me !

this is obviously a Yosemite issue where the Wifi and Bluetooth can not live together
Really? Since I and most others do not have a similar problem, perhaps you should look elsewhere. In your case, I would suggest resetting the PRAM as well as the SMC.

  • Bluetooth hiccoughs in Yosemite

I've seen a few other problems reported. Mine involves audio streaming to my Sony soundbard HTCT260. Was fine in mavericks. Now in Yposemite it causes streams from itunes to stutter. And when moving windows or scrolling through heavy content in safari seems to exacerbate the issue.
I've tried restarting the PRAM but to no avail.
My mac is a 2009 27" iMac with 16gb ram.

  • Bluetooth Trouble With Mouse and Keyboard

Symptoms of problem: Message indicating that mouse is not connected. Mouse becomes inoperable.
    Related clues:
After selecting "Browse Device" from the Menu Bar, Bluetooth icon, drop-down menu, the mouse is listed in the Browse Device window...the keyboard is not listed. The message "Searching for Devices - 0 Found", followed by "Found - 0 Devices" appears every few seconds.
When the Bluetooth icon in the System Preferences is selected, both the mouse and the keyboard are shown to be - On, Discoverable, Paired, and Connected.
There would seen to be nothing interfering with the signal, although I did enable a new 1.9 GHz wireless phone system just prior to experiencing the Mouse trouble.
    ???

So the first thing that I would do is disable the phone system and see if the issue goes away. If it does you most likely have your answer to the cause. However, BT is supposed to be confined to the license-free ISM band at 2.402-2.480 GHz which would seem to be well away from the phone's frequency.

  • Bluetooth trouble discription of T61p 8889AV9

After Bluetooth Mouse connected with the transciever on board, the mouse cannot work smoothly; while it connected with its own transceiver, it's OK.
Mouse: Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000, no password
           Driver: Microsoft Intellipoint 6.3
Bluetooth on board:      additionally connected with a PDA Phone, dopod P860, Windows Mobile 6.1
with the newest driver from Lenovo
Operation System:        Windows Vista Ultramate SP1 (Updated), ThinkPad T61p8889AV9
    Discription in detail:
1.Mouse cannot work while no Bluetooth icon located in Task Bar. It sometimes occurs after startup.
2.If the mouse is re-connected, its locmotion keeps smoothy.
3.If the mouse isn't re-connected, its locmotion cannot keep smoothy after several minutes.
4.If the mouse is connected with its own transceiver---Microsoft Transceiver v 3.0 for Bluetooth, it work well; but control pannel shows this device has some malfuctions---This device cannot start up(Code 10).
5.Bluetooth stack COM Server stop while pull out its own transceiver.
Guess: There is some trouble in the driver program of Bluetooth on board.

Tech. Support told me to send my laptop to them after too much of my time wasted. They were trying to make me install the Thinkpad Power Manager software and driver once again. They even said it was normal if your laptop shuts down after a few minutes or hours in sleep mode which is completely stupid unless the battery drained off and that's not the case.
And what's more important, my laptop was working faultlessly until I sent it to them for service. Then they changed the main board but they broke my LCD screen and caused the problem with Sleep mode. So I had to send it back, they changed the LCD with a 2005 HT14P12-100 when I had bought it in 2008 but they did nothing about the Sleep problem. And they want me to swallow that?
Ok, they'll collect it on Monday or Tuesday because I told them I was fed up and I didn't want it like that. I don't expect they'll solve the problem but I don't want it back until my Thinkpad works like it used to do before they put their hands on it.
