I see them now. I have not encountered those problems in this forum on on my ipads.
I would try to following in this order:
    1) Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
    2) If that doesn't work, try a reset, To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset. (Is this what you did when you mentioned reset?)
    3) If neither help, try a restore with itunes/computer. This will reinstall the ipad's software.
If the problems persist, you should contact Apple or take the ipad back to the vendor.
    I hope this helps.

  • How do I solve iMac "Bluetooth: Unavailable" problem?

I have a 27-inch, Mid 2011 iMac (OS X Lion 10.7.5) which was provided with a wireless keyboard and mouse.  Afer a year of use, I started having intermittent problems with the keyboard becoming disconnected, but the problem usually solved itself after a few seconds.  Now, I am not able to use the wireless keyboard and mouse at all.  I installed new batteries in both the keyboard and mouse, however, it did not solve the problem.  The Bluetooth icon at the top right of the monitor reads "Bluetooth: Unavailable" in light gray lettering.  I am currently typing this with a wired keyboard and wired mouse.  I cannot find any solutions in the Apple Support section.  How can this problem be solved?

    Try resetting the SMC.

  • Setting shows "bluetooth Unavailable" and greyed out

looking for possible reasons, why iphone shows "bluetooth unavailable". sometimes it jumps to "bluetooth off", sometimes to "bluetooth on" and then unsuccessfully searching other devices. iphone is very slow and touch stream reacts with delay.
Any clue, if this is a hardware or software issue? How to fix?
Reset + restore not successful. iOS 4.2.1
Have not recognized the problem under 4.0 - but not sure, if upgrade is the cause of the issue.
    Thanks for any hot tip.

  • WIFI & Bluetooth unavailable after upgrading 2.0

    Hi,
After upgrading to version 2.0.2 my IPhone has lost WIFI and Bluetooth. Mac addresses appears like 00:00:00:00:00:00 and the option in grey, saying "No Wi-FI" and Bluetooth unavailable.
I tried restoring to a previous version but not luck, looks like something becomes corrupt.
Is there any fix for that?
    Thanks in advance.

    Try this,
    Reset Network Settings
Choose General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.
    Or do a phone reset
Or return it to apple like this guy on http://gabriel.zeropeople.com/2008/08/15/iphone-wifibluetooth-problems/

  • Bluetooth unavailable/not recognizing hardware

I've posted time and again and no one seems to have an answer. My iMac (10.2.8) has a BT module from Dlink plugged into the USB. Without any prior problem. BT is now unavailable. Profiler shows the BT module but utilities says there isn't any hardware. I contacted Dlink and they suggest a firmware download from Apple but I can't find any.
Is there something I can download which might correct the problem? I did the pram reset thing but that did nothing. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? Will upgrading to Tiger or Leopard fix this? Very frustrating.
    Thanks

I have the same problem with my bluetooth keyboard. From my reading here & elsewhere I understand this may be:
    - A design issue - mini's run too hot for bluetooth to function properly
    - A build quality issue - soemtimes the bluetooth connector is not properly seated
    - An implementation issue - apparently the antennae cable is frequently laid across the USB bus/ports and this can cause interference.
NONE of this information comes directly from Apple and I understand popping open the case to investigate will invalidate my warrantee. Screw this - I'm going back to using PC's. Seriously gentlemen; I have tried very hard to like Macs; but they're just built badly and the after sales support is an insult. Apple deserves the fate it would already have suffered were it not Microsoft propping it up to avoid an anti-trust action. If you continue to use this garbage you have only yourselves to blame. Sell your junk to some sucker on eBay & buy a Dell.

  • Bluetooth unavailable/blued issues

My bluetooth has been giving me issues for a couple of days now. It all started after I was forced to power down my computer because it froze immediately after waking up.
After the initial restart, bluetooth became unavailable. However, I'm not getting the squiggly line through the icon at the top. Instead, it looks like this. I have a Magic Mouse, so obviously not being able to use bluetooth is bugging me. What's odd is that if I go through Bluetooth File Exchange, I can usually get it working, but aside from that, no luck.
BUT. This isn't what is bothering me the most. Ever since this started happening, my computer's fans start running about five minutes after start up, and usually stay at about 6000-6200rpm while the computer is on, regardless of what I am doing. Also, the CPU temp has been around 80-84 degrees these last couple of days, even though my computer doesn't feel warm.
The reason I think this has something to do with my bluetooth is because when I opened the activity monitor, "blued" (which I googled and found out is the bluetooth daemon) is sucking up about 62% of the CPU's resources, even though my bluetooth isn't turned on. Force quitting it from the activity monitor does nothing, because it just comes back.
Other things I have tried that haven't worked:
    1. Resetting PRAM
    2. Resetting SMC
    3. Deleting preference files from library
    4. Repairing permissions from start-up disk
Does anyone have any idea why this "blued" process keeps running even though my bluetooth isn't on? And how to fix it so it doesn't consume so much of the CPU's resources/cause my fans to go wild?
Also, don't know whether this is important to know, but my macbook is three years old now, but still in good condition (I hope). Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello:
You have tried most of the things that I would have suggested:
Other things I have tried that haven't worked:
    1. Resetting PRAM
    2. Resetting SMC
    3. Deleting preference files from library
    4. Repairing permissions from start-up disk
If you have not don so, trash a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist).
I would also run repair disk from your software install DVD.
I would also run Apple's hardware checker from your software install DVD. If you have it, run Techtool.

  • Bluetooth 'unavailable'!

I have been using a RocketFish RF-MAB2 headset, fine for listening to tunes, with my touch 3Grunning 3.1.3 for a couple weeks now. Suddenly today. I get no full connectivity.
Touch shows the RF-MAB2 in music, bu I here nothing. I have started and restarte the headset a couple of times. It is fully charged. If I go to Settings>General and Bluetooth, Bluetooth is grayed out along with Unavailable. The Bluetooth icon is Blue, though!
The iTouch is acting slow and sticky on the icons and slide to unlock!
Do I need to do a reset and reinstall everything! It is a 32G that is about a third full!
If I do <Restore> do I get to just sync to put everything back? I suppose that will take a while.

Spoke with a buddy about this and He said try a reboot 'Hold Power Key and Home Key down'. I did not know about that! Much better than a Restore for a first option at a fix. On my MBP I would have tried a restart. JUst didn't know how to do that on an iTouch!
    Good to go, now!
Maybe someone else will benefit from this bit of info!

  • HT1338 The Bluetooth on my macbook wont turn on. Not even giving me the option to turn on/off any more. all it shows is "Bluetooth : Unavailable" form one day to the next. AHHHHHH!

So blue tooth was working just fine with my wireless keyboard and now not so much. I see the Bluetooth icon on top and its not allowing me to see anything about the setup like it did before. now it's just telling me that it's "Not Available"....... looked for Bluetooth options on preference window and all it found me was the sharing folder where there was nothing about bluetooth.

Shut your Mac down - not reboot, do a shut down - then boot it up and see whether the problem has cleared. As it happens, I had exactly the same thing a couple of days ago: a reboot didn't cure it but a shut down did.

  • Bluetooth unavailable despite exhausting all options offered by support community

Pardon this being a bit lengthy.  It may be necessary to say all this to actually fix my computer because I need to convey what I've already done to try and remedy the situation.  I would be so appreciative if someone could take the time to help me…
I purchased a new iMac (late-2012 model) about a week and a half ago.  It and its magic trackpad had been working fine up until two days ago.  On that day, the trackpad suddenly stopped working, and both the bluetooth icon around the top right of the screen and the bluetooth preferences in System Preferences became unresponsive.  At first I ignored this for a day because I was busy.  Once I returned to the problem, I tried the bluetooth icon and the bluetooth preferences again, to no avail, and replaced the batteries in the trackpad.
I restarted my computer.  Ever since that first restart, bluetooth has been missing from my computer.  Now, instead of being unresponsive, the bluetooth preferences are completely absent from System Preferences, and the bluetooth icon in the top bar of the screen has changed to this:
I have scoured the support forums and googled the problem.  So far, I have tried every solution I've come across that's been put forth by Apple and Apple users:
    • Simply restarting the computer again
    • Restarting, then immediately removing all USB devices for the duration of the restart
    • Restarting, then immediately removing ALL external devices, inputs & outputs while restarting
    • Resetting SMC
    • Resetting NVRAM(PRAM)
    • Reparing disk in disk utilities
    • Reparing disk permissions in disk utilities
    • Re-installing the latest bluetooth firmware
As I continue to research the problem, there have been absolutely no more suggestions, only repeats of these.
If it helps, here are the specifications for my computer, though I'm not sure how relevant this information is:
      Model Name:          iMac
      Model Identifier:          iMac13,2
      Processor Name:          Intel Core i7
      Processor Speed:          3.4 GHz
      Number of Processors:          1
      Total Number of Cores:          4
L2 Cache (per Core):          256 KB
      L3 Cache:          8 MB
      Memory:          16 GB
Note that under "system information," under the hardware dropdown, when I click on "Bluetooth" it now says "No information found."  Previously in that spot I recall it listing the appropriate Bluetooth stuff for my computer.  < Perhaps that information may be of use.
Thank you very much for sticking around to read this.  Like I said earlier, I'd be extremely appreciative if someone could help me fix this problem.  Using a conventional mouse just isn't sufficient for my purposes on this computer, and I'm looking forward to eventually getting my trackpad working (as well as other bluetooth devices I may want to use with my iMac in the future).

    Hello:
Since your computer is under warranty, take it in for service.  You have ABSOLUTELY done all the troubleshooting steps that will "restore" a missing Bluetooth module.

  • Bluetooth Unavailable in 10.8.4 on 2011 iMac, any solutions?

I did a restart on my iMac today and upon restart I had the squiggly line through the bluetooth icon and no bluetooth in the system preferences. Tried SMC reset, PRAM reset. Nothing works. If it's a hardware issue, can i replace the bluetooth componet myself?

So I solved it by reinstalling Mountain Lion.

  • Bluetooth Unavailable (possible motherboard damage?)

    Hi,
A few weeks after I first got my Macbook (in around september of last year) My bluetooth module seemed to have stopped working. the icon in the top right corner has a squiggle through the logo, and says it's not available. when I go to the Bluetooth File Exchange app in the utilities, it says that it may not be connected to the computer. seeing as how it's built into it, and I have gotten it to work on a few separate occasions, I know that's not true. I don't have to use it that often, and that's why i haven't taken it in beforehand. (also, i think backing up this machine is a bit of a pain)
In any case, I heard recently that it might be a problem with the computer's motherboard. I'm wondering if this is in fact the problem, or if it's a simple error on my computer. if it is indeed a physical problem with the motherboard, i'm also wondering if it's worth it to go to the apple store for repairs immediately. I live near a store, but as gas prices are rising, and my students savings are not, it becomes more of a burden to get anything fixed there.
    any clues would be appreciated,
    Sam

Hello flxbbs!: Yes indeed you likely shorted out your motherboard &now face the prospect of getting a new one.
also what you can do in the future is try & wipe the keys with distilled water to get the pieces of whatever made the wine out of the next system then let it dry for a week.
as for the heating up of the palmrest that is due to the aforementioned pieces of whatever fruit leaving a sticky residue which is similar to dust.
    good luck
hope this helps & enlightens you
as a fellow chiphead & owner of computers I express my deepest sympathy & condolence to your loss!

  • Updating 10.8.5 and bluetooth unavailable

I had bluetooth problem after updating 10.8.5. I decided to do a clean install of my system but it does not resolved my problem.
After a clean installation of Mountain Lion, I made an update combo 10.8.5. My MightyMouse has no more the functions to slide up / down and right / left.
The bluetooth works on my mouse and my keyboard but is not available any more and not visible on the preferences system.
I reset the PRAM and the SMC without result.
Thank you for answer and help.

  • Late 2009 MBP fans turning at 5600 rpm all the time, bluetooth unavailable and wont turn off

    Hello,
I have a late 2009 MBP, about a week ago the fans started turning at around 5600 rpm constantly, they are very noisy. The bluetooth has also stopped working, the icon's drop down menu says that it's not available. In addition, the computer won't turn off, it restarts immediately after shutdown. I have reset the PRAM and SMC but with no luck, this has been annoying me greatly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

You've already done the two things that I would suggest (resetting the SMC being at the top of the list). Your fans may be failing - I had the same problem with one of my fans and it had to be replaced.
The problem is with your other situations - I would really suggest backing up your data and making a clean install of Lion to see if that rectifies your Bluetooth, shutdown, etc., problems (as the SMC reset didn't). If that fails then it's time to visit the Apple Store and have them run diagnostics. Just curious, though... does Bluetooth show up under your System Profile as being connected via the USB hub under Bluetooth USB Host Controller?
    Call back,

  • IMac Bluetooth unavailable

    Hi,
Bluetooth on my 2011 iMac has suddenly stopped working. The squiggly line thru the Blutooth symbol.
I have checked System Preferences and it says 'no information available' under Bluetooth.
I have tried deleting the plist file
I have tried the SMC reset
I have shutdown unplugged everything and unplugged from mains overnight then powered up
I have tried above step but pressed SHIFT/CONTROL/ALT and Power button together before powering up
I seem to have exhausted all the tips I could find and have done a total shutdown and fired up so many times
Is this going to be an expensive trip to my nearest Apple dealer?

    Try resetting the SMC.
