Hello bobyj, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
Yeah, this question gets asked a lot...
Truthfully, I've never attempted what you're trying to do!  I don't use BlueTooth to sync when I have Wifi easily available, and I haven't made the jump to Win7.
I do use a Vista64 bit laptop, and can sync via Wifi.  I'm told this works for Win7 also.  (I am using my home network and a Wifi router to complete the network connection.)
Are you using a built-in BlueTooth radio in the new computer, or have you added it via a USB dongle?  I've read that using the correct drivers for a dongle is critical.  Sometimes it's best to not use the drivers included with the device, but let Windows7 use its own.

I  made a recent post about loosing all the data I had in my calendar for the year.  When doing Hot Sync to my PC I get an error message as indicated in my subject line.  Does anyone know what this means or how to obtain this knowledge.  Could it be related?  Does anyone know how to correct this problem?

Sounds like your best bet is to start all over with a Hard Reset, then sync back up with your original Hotsync user name.
    To perform a Hard Reset:
While pressing and holding the Power button down, tap and release the Reset button in back and continue to hold the Power button down. When the grey Palm logo appears, you can release the Power button.
You should now see the warning page in about 5 languages. Press the UP direction on the 5-way pad to complete the task. Your Palm will reset itself several times as it re-installs the original programs and erases all your previous data.

  • Hard reset problem and error message (sys 0505) (0, 841) Palm T/X

I've read the various posts covering the error message and I believe I downloaded an incompatible program using the Addit site. While attempting to do a hard reset (following the user guide) I am unable to reach the screen showing the reset options. I receive the error message (sys 0505) (0, 841) in a box in front of the preferences screen after the palm resets (soft).  There is a Software icon that was placed on my opening page on the Palm, which when pressed shows the same error message. Any suggestions on how to remove the program or reset the Palm T/X would be helpful.Thanks.

The error is caused by the installation of MyPalm, MyTreo, or MyHand on your device.  These were designed for phones.
Delete any of the ones mentioned and the problem should go away.
Your timing may be a bit off when trying to do the Hard Reset.
To perform a Hard Reset: (Palm Knowledgebase article #887)
While pressing and holding the Power button down, tap and release the Reset button in back and continue to hold the Power button down. When the grey Palm logo appears, you can release the Power button.
You should now see the warning page in about 5 languages. Press the UP direction on the 5-way pad to complete the task. Your Palm will reset itself several times as it re-installs the original programs and erases all your previous data.

  • HT1349 Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?

I was recently prompted to update my Itunes player to the latest version. I'm using Windows Vista. I was left with an error message MSVCR80.dll and consequently no new update. I uninstalled the old version and have tried to reinstall manually several times. No luck. Consequently I have no player.
    Any ideas for a fix?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

How do I fix this error?

    Hi,
If you're starting to get Smart warnings, it's probably best to think about replacing the Hard Drive - at the very least, make sure you have a current back-up of all your personal files etc in case the drive fails suddenly.
If you'd like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive, please post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.

  • Palm TX Error Message

Can anyone advise what the problem may be when an error message stating the following keeps appearing on screen prior to performing a hot sync: "Error (Sys 0505) (0, 841)?
This started happening recently after I attempted to download a program to access Palm Software. Thanks!

The TX support page has links to things like the User Guide which is a good place to start.  Go to the Support & Download links above, select View All Devices > Tungsten > TX.  (The user guide is also on your installation disc.)
But to get to the Delete function on the handheld, you enter the Menu.  Go to the Application Launcher (Home) screen.  Tap the clock in the upper left corner.  Select Delete.  Scroll to the application you wish to delete, tap Delete.
Some applications are more difficult to delete than others, and if My Palm or whatever it is you installed resists deleting, you might also try installing a third-party file management application such as FileZ.  It is very useful to have on the PDA, and its free.  Just google the name and you'll find it.
Good luck, let us know if you have any other questions about your new TX.

Did you try to update iTunes through "Apple Software Update"?
    Uninstall everything {iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour , Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)}
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
then reinstall itunes. (Download it from Apple's site.)

Are you saying that the "Music" app is not present on your iPod Touch? Perhaps there is an issue with the restrictions on the iPod? If you're absolutely sure that the Music app is not present I would consider creating a backup of your iPod after syncing it with iTunes. I would then consider restoring it if this is the case.

  • Windows 7 - Apple Application Support was not found.  Error Message

    Hello Folks,
i keep getting the following message, despite the fact that i have uninstalled Itunes and then installed it again a few times.
"Apple Application Support was not found.  Please uninstall, and install again.  Error 2 (Windows Error 2).
    Can anyone suggest any help?
I have a Windows 7, new Dell Latitude machine.
    THank you,

"Apple Application Support was not found.  Please uninstall, and install again.  Error 2 (Windows Error 2).
Is Apple Application Support currently showing as installed in your Uninstall a program control panel?
If not, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Hi, I am having problems with a new Windows 7, 64 bit system. Acrobat 9 frequently crashes programs when it's invoked, for instance when trying to print a web page to PDF from Firefox, or making a PDF from a Word document. Firefox or Word will crash, with no errors. Acrobat is also giving these errors freqently: "Fatal error: failed to connect to dde server"
Other installed apps include MS Office 2007 and Symantec Endpoint Protection, SAS JMP, Endnote.
    thanks for any suggestions.
