Bluetooth & Windows PAN

Will there every be support to allow Apple devices to PAN with Windows via bluetooth to access the internet, right now as I understand MAC has this capability but there is a networks protocl conflict with MAC vs. PC just for bluetooth where PC will now allow any device to connect to it's internet via bluetooth?

There is now way to know such a thing, and to speculate is a violation of the terms of use of this forum.
There is no reason to believe that this will be available in the future.
As far as I kow this not a feature at all PC or Mac.

Placing a hatched or window pane effect on a photo in the album

Iam in the middle of making an album as a gift, one of the photos was placed with a window pane effect on it, I know how to remove it, but would like to place that same effect on a different photo in the album. Unable to find out how to do it. Tjank you for your help.

What version of iPhoto? I assume you mean you're making a book, right? Can you take a screenshot of the photo with the effect and post it (use the camera button in the tool bar). What does the photo look like back in its Event? I don't know what you mean by a window effect but it might be one of the Effects options in the Edit mode
Select the photo in it's Event and use the Photos ➙ Revert to Original menu option if it's not grayed out. That will remove any edit done in iPhoto.

Invisble child window pane

Hi,
I'm currently doing a project which has parent and child vi concept. When i was searching for few examples related to the concept, i came across this example. In this example i'm not able to drag if the window pane is invisble, meaning the child window disappears. With window pane visible i could drag. So how could i solve this problem? Is it possible drag without window pane for child vi?

Under very few circumstances would I ever have more then one event structure in one VI. You have two, and one is inside another...inside a while loop. I would recommend avoiding having more then one event structure, and just handle all events in one, keeping previous data in the shift register.
Also regarding moving windows without a title bar and child/parent windows. Here is a proof of concept I made a while ago that puts children windows into a parent window and the children can be moved and resized as a child, or made a floating window.

Mail won't display the trash can on the left hand window pane

Hello:
I have just re-formatted an older Mac Mini using the version of Panther that was bundled with the machine.
Yesterday, Mail was launched, the account was re-created and the user's email came in without a problem.
Today, she noticed that there is no trash can icon in the left hand window pane. Can anyone tell me how to get this icon in plain view or re-install if it's disappeared?
The user tried making a folder called "Trash" but it yielded no results.

Is this an IMAP or POP3 account?
Have her try this...
Right click or Control+click on an eMail she wants in the Trash, go down to Move to... then select Trash which there may be 2 of... see if that creates it.

Making those window pane bars go away

I'm sure that is the dumbest question to date, 'cause I'm sure it's obvious to everyone else, but I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere.
Here's the deal: I got a psd file with several layers in it from another person. I have successfully worked with it in the past with no problem. Tonight, when I went work with it, I find window panes separated by multicolored bars obscuring parts of the image as I try to work with it.
I've looked everywhere for help about panes and/or bars, but nothing comes up. I've looked at all the preferences, but none seems to apply. The various view options don't seem to have any effect.
The bars show up in "standard edit," and in the "before" view of "quick fix," but sometimes, when I work in "quick fix" mode, they also show up in the "after" view.
How do I make those pesky bars go away so I can see what I'm working with?

PS: Might this have something to do with the fact that I'm now working with Vista?

I was trying to run Photoshop Elements 3.0 on my new Vista PC. I decided to download and install PSE 5.0. This was anything but a trouble-free installation, but when I finally got it running the bars went away.
While I was trying to get PSE to work under Vista, I discovered that there is a plug-in available for Paint.net that allows it to handle photoshop's PSD files. I installed the plug-in and found that Paint.net handles the PSD files I have been working with just fine.
Given that Paint.net is free and has always worked perfectly with Vista, I've given up PSE in favor of Paint.net. PSE is too troublesome, too complex and too costly for me.

Removing the GENRE window pane in the Browser Window

Does anyone know how (if possible) to *remove the GENRE window* pane in the Browser Window in iTunes 8.x??? This was a check mark ON/OFF in iTunes 7.x Prefs but I can't find it in the 8 version = very annoying indeed since I don't select my music based on genre.
Any input on this is appreciated

Quit iTunes, launch Terminal, and enter this command:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes show-genre-when-browsing -bool FALSE
Relaunch iTunes, open the browser, and you'll notice the Genre column has gone. You can reverse this by quitting iTunes and repeating the above command, but with TRUE instead of FALSE.
There are also pre-complied utilities to do this; search MacUpdate or VersionTracker for something like "iTunes browser" and you should find them.

That Batching Window Pane

When in the batch window pane, formatted searches can not access the window pane with the row information to retrieve such information like Project Code assigned to that row.
What solutions could be used to do this? DI-API? Database query? I don't see how the database query would work as the Goods Receipt document can't be added without batches first.

Bluetooth pref pane is gone? No bluetooth available.

Deleted the Main Library/Pref/bluetooth.plist, rebooted.
Nothing
Restarted w magic mouse off, removed batteries, replaced batteries, turned on magic mouse.
Nothing
Restarted holding Command+Option+P+R three dings
Nothing
Shutdown, unplugged all connections, then unplugged power cord, replugged all back. Restart.
Nothing
I can see the Bluetooth app in my applications folder.
Clicking on it displays:
"You can’t open the “Bluetooth” preferences pane because it is not available to you at this time.
To see this preferences pane, you may need to connect a device to your computer."
I have not had this problem using Snow Leopard, ever, until today, and today Bluetooth suddenly STOPS working.
What the heck is going down?

Is the Bluetooth hardware recognized by the computer? If the card isn't online for some reason (hardware issue, disconnected cable, etc.) then that could explain why your Bluetooth stopped working.
I suggest opening the System Profiler (pull down Apple menu and select 'More Info' option), then click on the Bluetooth section. If you see detailed information on the Bluetooth card then at least you know that the system recognizes the hardware and that you may have a software or configuration issue. If the Bluetooth card isn't even recognized then you'll need to take your system in for further evaluation since you've already done the basic troubleshooting.

Bluetooth Prefs Pane has suddenly disappeared

I'm using a new (late 2008) Macbook. Everything was fine, including BT. I left home for a 2 day trip, and when I came back, my wireless apple mouse wasn't working. I then discovered that the BT icon was missing from the menu and did not show up in System Prefs.
If I double click on the BT prefs pane itself, I get the message: "You cannot open Bluetooth Prefs pane because it is not available to you at this time. You might need to connect a device to your computer to see the pref pane."
I have tried deleting the .plist for BT (both my home and root folder), and have even tried and archive and reinstall, but still no BT. Very weird and frustrating... any help appreciated! There was nothing specific that I'm aware of that would have caused this.

Thanks for the suggestion... Unfortunately, after installing the pref pane with Pacifist, it still isn't working. Any other thoughts?

IPhone bluetooth Windows 7 not working correctly.

Just upgraded my computer to an Asus P8P67 which has built in bluetooth (Atheros). Was messing around trying to see what features I had connecting my iPhone to my computer via bluetooth. When I try to pair it the pair seems to work however when it installs the driver while pairing it says it installs "Not Supported Bluetooth Function" as a driver. The phone does say it connects via bluetooth however as far as I can tell I don't have the features that I should have. When I double click the phone under Devices and Printers it opens up the properties for the phone instead of the screen that shows options like syncing.
So I have two questions:
Is my phone connecting properly? If not is there a known fix for the issue?
What features should I have when connecting my iPhone 3GS to my Windows 7 computer?
I have tested the bluetooth connection with another device and it seems to work fine.

Is it possible to answer calls incoming to my iPhone on my bluetooth connected Windows 7 computer? I have handsfree turned on in the bluetooth settings and the ringtone is going through my computer however when a call comes in I don't see anything on my computer that would let me answer the call, so I have to answer it on the phone still.

Desktop Bluetooth Windows 7 Not working

I have a BB 9000 that I have been trying to connect with desktop manager 6.0 by Bluetooth in Windows 7. Windows 7 pairs with the 9000 with no issue, but then the DT does not find the device. I have also removed the pairing with win 7 and had DT locate the 9000 on its own, it finds it but when I go to connect it asks me for a pairing code, which I do not have, so I go back to win 7 and pair, as soon as I do that the DT loses the 9000 as a connection option.
I have read many postings about the broadcom driver being a problem, so I installed it and then nothing worked, so I had to do a system restore.
I can not use my usb since it is not working on the device, the only option I have is the bluetooth, can anyone help?

A720 cannot detect bluetooth (Windows 8 and Windows 8.1)

I have a 2012 Lenovo A720 which I have upgraded to the latest Windows 8.1 Update. I am unable to see bluetooth icon in the system tray or device manager.
I see the bluetooth light lit on the front of the screen but I suspect that does not have anything to do with bluetooth actually working because when I try to detect the PC using bluetooth on my other devices, I can't even find the PC.
I have installed the latest driver from Lenovo support site which simply repaired the Lenovo Bluetooth software but I am unable to activate bluetooth even by force.
Any ideas?

I tried to install the drivers for 8.1 from their support. Nothing is working.

Bluetooth Windows 7 USB port problem

Hi,
I am using a class 1 bluetooth dongle (unkown manufacturer) with the toshiba bluetooth stack V 8.00.03 Premium, and a bluetooth headset. The specs for the dongle are : Bluetooth V1.2, USB compatible with V1.2/2.0
I have a strange problem when changing the USB the dongle is plugged into. If I change the dongle to another USB port, searching for devices fails. I have tried uninstalling the stack, and of course deleting the device from the bluetooth manager window.
Also, strangely , when I plug the dongle into a USB extension on the same port, it doesnt work either. When I put the dongle back into the same USB port it works fine as usual.
I want to change the USB port so that I can get better reception , as its plugged in at the back at the moment. Also, I want to use the usb extension for the same reason, to bring it out above the desk. Weirdly though,as I say, it doesnt work with the extension (just a regular cable with USB male on one end and female on the other to plug the dongle into.
Is this something to do with voltage drop down a cable? And regarding the changing of the usb ports is this something to do with the bluetooth ports being installed on that USB port only? I dont know exactly how bluetooth ports work so, how they get installed etc.

Few questions at the beginning:
Do you use Toshiba notebook?
I ask this because, as far as I know, Toshiba supports BT stack on Toshiba notebooks but if you get it as part of package of some other manufacturer they are responsible for support and functionality.
Until now Ive always used Toshiba notebooks and there is no problem with BT device so I cannot say much about your problem but what you can try is to remove preinstalled software, clean u the registry and after notebook/PC restart install Toshiba BT stack but put BT dongle in the port that you want to use now.

PDA Bluetooth Windows Mobile 5

I have just finished developing a PDA application using LV PDA 8.20 for my HP iPAQ running Windows Mobile 2003. The application uses Bluetooth to communicate with a device and all runs well.
I have just ordered a new HP iPAQ running Windows Mobile 2005 and loaded my software onto it along with the 3 Bluetooth dlls required:
BtCoreIf.dll
BtSdkCE30.dll
LVBtw.dll
When I run the software and try to discover devices, I get the following error: Bt Discovery Error code: 2. I have Bluetooth turned on.
Has anybody else experienced anything similar?

Well, I thought I had cracked this..............!
My software now starts ok and discovers Bluetooth devices. Soon after discovering a device and the operator selecting the desired one, the software hangs.
This works fine on Mobile 2003 but not on Mobile 5.
I have recompiled the software and chosen the target device to be Mobile 5.
I have read bits and pieces about extra software being installed for Mobile 5. I have installed EVC 4.
PDA version is 8.20
I cannot see anyway of changing the processor type in the build definition, it defaults to ARM. My iPAQ hx2100 has a PXA270 (is this ARM compatible as far as LV is concerned?).
Any help gratefully received!

Centro won't HotSync using Bluetooth & Windows 7

I have been using Bluetooth to HotSync my Palm Centro (Verizon) with my Windows 7 (HP) computer. The last successful HotSync was 2 weeks ago (9/20). No hardware or software changes have been made to the computer since then. When I tried to HotSync today I got this message:
HotSync Problem
Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application.
I tried rebooting the computer, but that didn't help.
Can anybody help me? In very simple basic words (pretend you're talking to your grandmother) please.

I also get this message. I thought it was because my wife and I each have a Palm Centro and it meant that the HotSync was still connected to the other person's phone. But If you are only using one phone, and still get this message, I am now stumped as to why the error occurs.
