Bluetooth with Ford Sync

Hi, my handsfree bluetooth in my car worked this morning.I have a new Ford with the Sync system. Tonight I'm getting an error when trying to make a call. Error message says "phone not found" or "phone disconnected" The error message on the phone says". App_net_rim__bb_phone_app67 is not responding process terminated. Sounds ominous! I have the Bold 9700. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Andrea

I KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
I had the same problem. Blackberry Bold 9650 - would connect, but disconnect minutes later. Sometimes it would reconnect, sometimes not.
In Sync, Goto the "Media" menu, where you would play music through a USB or iPod or even you blackberry phone. Is your "Media" device set to "Bluetooth?" I bet it is. Change the input to "line in" or "USB" if you have a USB hooked up. NEVER LEAVE IT ON BLUETOOTH AUDIO, EVER, FOR ANY REASON.
Bam. I don't have the problem any more. The problem seemed to be that my phone was connecting automatically through bluetooth, but SYNC was ALSO trying to connect through bluetooth to my phone as a media player. I don't know the technical reason, but the two seemed to clash. I never have the problem anymore, but if I forget and turn on Bluetooth audio, it will happen again.
I think its a BlackBerry problem, not a SYNC problem, but this workaround works. Good luck, and report back if it worked.
BONUS - use your USB cable to connect SYNC to your phone, and it works just like if you pluged in a USB key full of music.
On my phone, when I plug in the cable and the car is on, the phone prompts me to use it as "USB," or "CHARGE ONLY," or whatever - select "USB." Then, in SYNC, goto "Media," select device "USB," and BOOM.
OR, More easily, at this point press the SYNC button, and say the command "USB." It will activate the USB media device, and boom, you've got a fully voice activated MP3 player that fullfills the promise of SYNC.
Now your phone is a media player THAT YOU CAN USE WITH ALL SYNC VOICE ACTIVATED COMMANDS, just like if you pluged in a USB key full of MP3s. Put a 16GB media card in your phone, load it up with your music library and you are good to go. Play any song by name, artist, album, whatever, it all works, JUST LIKE SYNC WAS MEANT TO WORK
I hope this helps someone out there.

  • How does the newest Iphone work with Ford Sync?

How does the new Iphone work with Ford Sync? I was thinking of purchasing the 4s but may go elsewhere if there is a better phone for the equipment in my vehicle.

That would be a NO.. I should have done my homework before I switched to IPhone because the Bluetooth just does not want to sync with my Ford Truck. Its such an inconvience. But I see from other posts that Ford isn't the only car experiencing problems. So Hopefully Apple fixes this problem QUICKLY!

  • HTC TB with Ford SYNC USB - "HUBS NOT SUPPORTED"

Anyone else set up their Thunderbolt with Ford Sync over USB connection? I am unable to get it to work. I get "HUBS NOT SUPPORTED" on the SYNC screen no matter what setting I use on the TB. Bluetooth works fine but the audio quality is horrible. This is why I'm trying to get USB to work.

I've had a similar issue and I haven't found a resolution to the problem.  However, when connecting with bluetooth, the quality is much better if you turn the volume all the way up on your media device -- that way it's sending the most powerful signal to the car.  Then control your audio volume through your car for best results.  Hope this helps you until htc (or verizon) comes out with a fix to the problem.

  • Verizon Phones compatable with Ford SYNC

I am new to this forum. I fact I have never used a forum before.  I am over 65 and do not understand how the forum is related to asking Verizon a question or offering a suggestion. But here goes:
When I go to the Verizon home page and queery Ford SYNC I get no results.  I suggest  that Verizon address Ford SYNC on its site.  Specificially address which phones are compatable with Ford SYNC for 2010 and 2011 vehicle being produced by Ford.  (Edge/Explorer)
I guess my main question is:  Just because a phone has bluetooth capability is it compatable with FORD SYNC?

By reading comments and experience with Verizon. I'd say it's Verizon's problem. The company is the most technologically lame entity I've seen. These guys refused the iPhone! the iphone ends up costings carriers money
verizon doesn't make the phones or the car
verizon has plenty of dual core phones
you have a phone that is 13 months old, in this industry that is a dinosaur

  • Does the iphone 4 work with Ford SYNC?  I recently lost all my contacts and think it had something to do with SYNC.  Any suggestions?

Anybody else had problems with Ford SYNC and iphone 4?
Lost all my contacts.  Any way to recover them if they haven't been backed up?

The complaints I've heard most are due to the fact that the iPhone will not let you use the sync system to read and compose text messages, etc. I vaguely recall somthing about address books not syncing properly, but I've never heard of the sync system wiping the address book on the phone. It shouldn't be possible as the iPhone only supports PBAP for contact syncing, which is one way.
In any event, if the contacts were not synced to something and have been lost, there is no way to recover them, no matter what it was that wiped them.

  • My 4th gen iPod Touch does not work with Ford sync since updating OS

When I updated my iPod to the new os, it does not work with my ford sync system anymore. how do I fix this?

Have lots of issues with Fords MySync and here's some info that might help....
Using ford sync interface, goto the phone section, then settings, and look if your iPhones name is listed, if so select the phone name thru sync interface and remove/delete it from the sync list, then go thru the Bluetooth pairing process again.
If that doesn't work, do the same on the iPhone, select ford sync entry in Bluetooth and remove sync or forget this device on the iPhone and then go thru Bluetooth pairing again.
If that doesn't work Power off iphone ( not sleep) hold power button till you see red slider to power off. Then restart iphone, try pairing up again.
If that doesn't work go back to MySync and goto phone settings and use the up-down slider till you see sync master reset. Confirm then go thru BT pairing again.
If that doesn't work there is a fuse for the my sync system. Fuse box is usually behind kick panel of front passenger seat side for the Mustang #3, its behind a paper black cover. Remove fuse for 5-30 secs then replace.
Lastly, make sure your MySync Firmware is the latest vers. Mines 4.0.2 goto fords MySync support page to check
    http://www.ford.com/syncmyride/
    or call 1-800-392-3673 Opt 3
A google search might help for your model and year if not a newer mustang and you couldn't get to ford.
    Good Luck

  • Last update does not work with Ford Sync with Applink

Spotify has been working all right with the Ford Sync with applink in my car (C-MAX, late 2014). However, with the last update of the Spotify app from Play Store, just a few days ago, it has stopped working, because it is not detected by the car. Even when manually searching for applink enabled applications, it can't be found. It' really a pity, because it had worked perfectly until now, and it is a really impressive feature which I would definitely like to use again.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, with Android 4.3 and the latest version of the Spotify app (2.2.0.636). I am a premium user from Spain.

Our current situation is that my wife's phone connects via the AppLink to Spotify and shows track listings but doesn't allow shuffling or playlists to be displayed, she controls it via the phone if she wants to change playlists. My phone has connected once since I first posted to Spotify which came up with "Spotify powered by Ford" on my phone screen and allowed me to do absolutely everything you desired via the Spotify AppLink and "froze" all interactions directly with the phone, absolutely everything!!! Now it is back to not even detecting Spotify so have to connect via BT Audio. It has been like this for several months now however the most recent update (last week?) means that I now get track info up on the display! Twice however the display showed the first track only and once that finished and the next began, the display still showed the original track. Ironically at the same time, our 2010 Focus also began showing the correct track info on the display, this is the first time in the whole 5 years we've owned the car that my phone has displayed track info on the Focus, my wife's phone has always done it! I have found out that although we both have Samsung S3s that we got via carphone warehouse on the same day, hers is always one software update behind mine so never has the most recent OS. Strangely though, when I last updated my OS she also had notification to upgrade, she did, and she still is one behind me! I think there is something far more sinister in all of this but at least I get my tunes in the car, if not in the most desired way.
My overall opinion is that it is a great system if you have the right OS/phone it works great (I know someone with a 2015 model having the same issue with their i-Phone) however the continuing upgrading of OS and App means that the system isn't always compatible and never will be until they allow auto-upgrading via the Bluetooth connection and therefore phone internet connection in the UK. Apparently the US models all allow you to download the most recent software for the radio onto a USB stick and just plug it in to upgrade. Annoying.

  • Has anyone had any issues after syncing 4s with ford sync

  • Using with Ford Sync

Does anyone know if there is a download so iphone4 works better with the ford sync system. I can't get most of my features to work in my car and I love my phone so I'd hate to give it up.

Everything works perfectly for me with iOS 4.2.1 BUT I have about 700 entries in my contact list, half of which are email only (ie no phone number). These sync with the Ford phonebook, but the entries without phone numbers turn up as blanks and seem to prevent the car from recognizing that there ARE entries with numbers (when using voice commands). I can scroll past all the blanks (using the buttons) and the numbers are in there, it's just that voice tells me there are no entries...
I've only had the car for less than a day so if I figure this out I'll post an answer - in the meantime can anyone save me (and others?) a little grief?!

  • Bluetooth paring with ford sync

Hi, Im having problems pairing my xperia arc s with my 2013 ford c max. The phone finds 'sync' but when I tap to pair it says it cannot connect. Why is this? I have had no problems paring before. Thank you.

I also have a 2014 Ford C-Max and my Xperia Z1S worked fine before the 4.4.4 update . Now it does not connect to Sync. What gives?

  • Problem With Ford Sync and Lumia 920

I have a Ford Flex with Sync by Microsoft and the Nav screen. I was able to have Sync read incoming text messages and reply with short ones with my Samsung Focus. After pairing my Lumia 920 I no longer can do this. The message I get is that "Texting is not supported by this phone via Bluetooth". It seems like Nokia either forgot to add this feature or there is a bug in the phone.

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion.  My wife and I both have Lumina 920's.  We have no trouble pairing the phones to and incoming calls work fine.   When we try to make outgoing calls, SYNC puts us in Privacy mode automatically -- so we can't hear the phone ring or the party we are calling answer.  We can take the phone out of privacy mode by touching the Privacy mode on the SYNC screen -- but we shouldn't have to.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we fix this problem.  We try a master reset on the SYNC system and a soft reset on the phone.
Same issue here (and same vehicle, except 2012), it is very annoying.  My 900 I had before and One X+ do not have this issue.  My first 920 had the camera die, so I replaced it.  This issue was present on both phones.  This has just been tested and is still and issue after all of the latest updates from MS and Nokia.
So, 93tid, why don't you STFU with your all-knowing air about what is and is NOT fixed!

  • Issue with Ford Sync (Microsoft Sync) & iPhone 4--Playing Music via USB

I have a 2011 Ford Flex and and iPhone 4. The Sync system will not play music via the USB connection. It is quite temperamental with the bluetooth as well. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Well I have a 2010 Fusion with Sync and an iPhone 4. Have had various issues getting things to work right all the time. I'm not sure if Sync in the 2011's is much different.
When you say it doesn't play music, what does it do when you give it the USB command? Does the iPhone charge when plugged into the USB port? If the phone charges and it seems to let you select USB but doesn't play any music, on your iPhone, go to iPod and you may see an accessory connected screen. Touch the icon next to SYNC and you will see SYNC and doc connector listed. Touch doc connector and see if the music is heard.
If you haven't already register at www.syncmyride.com you will find some community forums there with hints/steps on getting Sync and iPhone to work properly.
Generally though, there have been a lot of issues with SYNC and Apple devices.
    Hope this helps.

  • Connecting Razr Bluetooth to Ford Sync

Cant get Razr to connect to car which has sync, Ford 2012. It finds it and pin pops up but when I put in pin and click done phone says cannot connect. My Revolution hooked to it with no problem and wife has hers connected.

Further look into Sync My Ride shows instructions for access code for the not as smart smart phones. Upon display of a 6 digit code press the forward seek button once and the Sync will then provide a 4 digit access code. Usually "0000" or "1234".  The Razr was then happy to cooperate and connects etc nicely.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • Blackberry assistan with ford sync

I think this can be easily remedied but I"m not sure how everytime I get into my car I get a redundant message from blackberry assistant, even if I get out of car and back in 5 minutes later can I change setting so I can get this message once a day, or do I have to turn it off completely. I like the assistant but annoying to hear message everytime I get into car.

Turn off the Bluetooth on the phone and do a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple log. After the phone reboots, turn on Bluetooth. You should see a spinning wheel. Put the vehicle in discovery/pairing mode. Check the vehicle user guide fo instructions on how to do that, and they should pair.
Has the phone ever been paired with the vehicle in the past? If so, before putting the phone back into pairing mode after the reset, make sure the vehicle is removed from the phone, and the phone removed from the vehicle list.
