Bluetooth with Volvo S80 handsfree in-car system

I really want to get an iPhone but spend a lot of time in my car (Volvo S80 September '06 make) and a lot of time on my phone on the road. Has anyone successfully paired the iPhone with the S80 and if so, what features will it allow/not allow? If not, are there any alternative solutions that anyone can come up with so I can justify getting the iPhone I so desparately want?
Thanks in advance.

I have NOKIA N73 and bluetooth in my S80 2006 works partly ok. I would like to get iphone. You say it works ok in S80. Please answer few questions:
Does it support voice dial?
Does it synchronise with iphone address book?
Does it show caller name on the screen?
Does it use iphones ringtones?
And something else is interesting. I don't know if you have ipod interface installed but if you do, if you plug iphone in to work as ipod, does it still responds as a phone over bluetooth?
Thanks

  • E90 Bluetooth Conection with Volvo S80

I now have my 3th Nokia Comminicator, but still unable to communicate with my Volvo S80 blutooth system...
I find it unbelievable that one of the finest car producers in Scandinavian, Volvo and the top phone producer in Scandinavia Nokia can't find a solution on well working partnership between Nokia Mobile Phone, and Volvo car radio with Blue tooth phone connection.
Here I have a wonderful Nokia E90 and an Excellent Volvo S-80, but they don’t talk to each other??? Amazing here in year 2008!
My problem is that phone book, last call; incoming call etc. doesn’t show up at the cars display panel. Therefore I have to handhold my Nokia in order to call my Contact persons from my car. And that is despite I am sitting in a hand free and safety proclaimed environment.
Maybe it is me who haven’t found the solution on this problem. Otherwise: “Shame on you Volvo!”
If someone has a solution, please give me the golden key.

I have same problem here, new V70 2008 and communicator E90 - telephone book, last answered/called calls cannot be seen. The software of the bluetooth telephone updated in Volvo service today but it did not help. After that I tried my daughter's Nokia 6300 and it worked perfectly. So the communicator E90 itself is the problem.
It would be nice to hear if someone find another solution than change the communicator.

  • My iphone5 don't pair via bluetooth with my macbook and my car kit

My i phone5 don't pair via bluethooth with my macbook and my car kit , both of them can't see the iphone device ? what i have to do to let them pair with the iphone ??

iPhones will only pair with computers for tethering (sharing an Internet connection).
As for the car kit, is it in pairing mode?

  • E70 Bluetooth Conection with Volvo S80

I have just changed my 6230i for a new E70. The 6230 would pair with the Bluetooth system on my Volve S80 and worked fine. I could access the phone book, it syncronised and all the functions worked as they should. I can't get the E70 to even pair with the car.
When I activate the pairing option on the car a little bluetooth icon appears in brackets on the phone display so the are communicating but the car then says it can't find the device.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to sort this.

    Hi Ilych
thanks fro your hints, which I will try next week (Volvo must update to the newest Bluetooth firmware first, but I doubt this will solve the problem).
Regarding selecting/sorting entries for copying via OPP,there is an easier way to do so by first copying to the SIM card memory (mine is limited to 250 entries). E61 does this already (1 phone number for one name) by copying from phone memory to SIM (standard function). If more phone numbers under same entry, it creates more entries with single number.
In Nokia forums, one can find an utility to prepare and copy from S60 phones (E61 one of them) to Nokia BT car kit called "810". All sorting and syntax checks are done by this utility (freeware). I think it is worth of try, have a look at "http://www.expansys.ch/ft.aspx?k=97853" where some people explained how to do it for N50 (also a S60 phone).
For another problem (caller's lists) Volvo still have no solution, I guess ... so Gerry Keaney, Senior Vice President for Marketing Sales and Customer Service will be soon under fire - stay tunned!

  • Nokia 9500 with Volvo S80 Bluetooth

    Hi
My Volvo built in Bluetooth kit has a problem (feature?) when I try to use it with my 9500. It does not syncronise phonebook and does not show incomig caller name, only number. When I connect my phone, it shows "syncronising" text for a moment and that's it. Shall I move my phonebook to SIM card? Its not good, as there is a lot contactc, incl. e-mails etc.
So, is there a possibility to take all out of the built in handsfree kit.
    Regards
    Lauri

You can ignore the bluetooth kit and add a normal wired car kit or even another bluetooth kit with contact downloads like a parrot, you can also wire it through your car speakers.

  • How can I get my iPhone 4 w/ iOS6 to Connect bluetooth with my Alpine CDE-133BT Car Stereo?

My iPhone 4 with iOS6 will not send a bluetooth signal to the Alpine CDE-133BT Stereo I installed on my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. It had previously connected with iOS5. I contacted Crutchfield where I opurchased the stereo from and they said this is a common complaint with multiple brands of stereos not being compatible with the new iOS6 update. Has anyone had this issue and has a solution? Or is this something that Apple will have to fix?
BTW, my phone recognizes my stereo as a bluetooth device but the stereo does not recognize the phone.
    Thanks.

Hi I've had my CDE-133BT since July and recently updated to IOS6 on my iPhone 4 (not an S).
I had to hold the BT phone button and forget all the devices paired to the 133BT.
    Then pair the phone again.
I can stream music now however I can't control (change tracks, pause or play from the 133BT).
This is because Alpine needs to update the firmware I believe.
    Hope that helped!

  • Is it a way to use bluetooth voice system in my volvo s80 with iPhone ?

is it a way to use bluetooth voice system in my volvo s80 with iPhone ?
Volvo system can not see iPhone, like my old phone.

It's a pretty good idea - why not send a suggestion here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html
....especially as AppleTV has no analogue audio out, and most non-Bluetooth wireless headphones would expect an analogue input (there are some expensive ones that handle optical, or the user coudl maybe use TV headphone/audio out, but Bluetooth audio might be handy for many.

  • I just downloaded the newest IOS software and now my iPhone5 won't pair with the Bluetooth in my car (the car system says it's paired when I try to re-pair it but then when n try to make a call it tells me it doesn't recognize the phone.

I just downloaded the IOS upgrade, 7.0.2, and now my iPhone 5 won't pair with my Bluetooth in my car, despite repeated attempts to re-pair the two and despite the fact it's been paired fine previously.  The car system tells me it's paired but then when I try to make a call I get another message that says there is no paired phone.

You can't override it no matter what you do. The device has to connect to the server to complete the iOS update. You could try rebooting the iPad and see if that lets you connect to the server after it starts up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that will not work, you can try connecting to iTunes on your computer and see if the activation will complete. Sometimes when thes activation issues arise, you end up having to restore the device again, but first things first. Reboot and see what happens.

  • Volvo s80 2008 model works with iPhone 5 only on hands free mode. Should it not also play my music through Bluetooth connection. Even my 4 year old Tom Tom does that.

  • I phone compatibility  with hands free car systems

I purchased an I phone which replaced a Palm Treo 650 (verizon). It worked perfectly. When I am using my in car hands free system, the I phone Tries to work but the voices break up,especially at he beginning. When I am speaking I phone to I phone it is almost impossible to understand the conversation. I phone to land line is better.
I phone to I phone not thru the handsfree is perfect. There seems to be a compatibility problem. My device is bluetooth.

There are several threads on this subject that you can use the search function for... I suggest you make sure to mention what in-car system you are using (car make and model), since this is about the most important piece of information. Also, you might try the forums at edmunds.com that have lots of related threads organized by auto make and model. For me, my Treo 700p worked, but had some issues, with my '07 Toyota/Lexus system. The iPhone works perfectly.

  • HELP !!! hands free paring bb bluetooth with car stereo 2011 kia sorento

I was able to pair my bb 8530 curve with my kia sorento 2011 car stereo via Bluetooth,  but  once  I leave the car, and come back the connections  always  fail.
I do have my Bluetooth "discoverable"
on my option settings I have only check mark "hands free", "audio source" & "A/v source"

this are the instructioin I used to  fixed it. In Bluetooth Options unchecked all items on the Services list except Handsfree. The then deleted the Kia from the BB and the BB from the Kia. I then paired again, in options on the BB I changed Discoverable to "No" and then on BB in Sorento Device Properties change Encryption to "Disabled". This has worked almost 2 weeks now with no new issues.

  • How do you download the contact list to a bluetooth car system

I have a Prius with bluetooth I am trying to put my contact names and numbers in the car's system. It has asked me to start a transfer from the phone using the bluetooth connection.
    Thanks for any help
    STEVE

    Thats not entirely true.
I have an Audi car kit and it copies all contacts, missed/received/dialed numbers from the iPhone 3G to the cars system.
I can scroll through the contacts in the same way I can on the actual phone.
So it is possible to transfer the contacts via bluetooth but obviously this doesn't work with every manufacturer or bluetooth implementation.

  • Bluetooth in car system Audi A6

Integral bluetooth car system for an Audi A6 is not compatable with a Nokia 6233.Other Nokia models connect ok.
Is it possibe to amend the Nokia bluetooth software to make it compatable.
    Advice appreciated.

No help here but I have the same question for my car using an E71 in a Mazda 6.  I can connect the phone through the bluetooth system fine, but cannot seem to get audio to play through the system.  Any help is appreciated.

  • IPhone ios 5 still won't send vCard contacts via bluetooth to car system

I have an iPhone 3GS and am running iOS 5.0.1.  I have a 2011 Toyota Camry with built-in bluetooth.  I see a lot of posts from people talking about the fact that the iPhone can't send vCard name/phone number contact information to a car bluetooth system.  Sending via MMS or e-mail is not an option to a car system like this.  The car bluetooth system gets put into a mode where it waits for the information from the phone.  But there is no option in iOS to send vCards via bluetooth.  This capability is something my wife's free Samsung Solstice phone can do, but my "smartphone" / iPhone cannot.  Every number I call from the iPhone, therefore, shows as calling "no name" as I can't get basic contact names/numbers sent to the car's system.  This is not a far fetched feature and many phones (free ones at that) can do this.  When will users be able to get this basic feature?  All I need is send vCard contacts via bluetooth...As I said, sending via MMS or e-mail doesn't work for a car.  I shouldn't need some app to do this either.  It should be another transport feature on the vCard export from iOS.
    Thanks,
    Michael

In order to get contacts onto your in car system, it will need to support the PBAP bluetooth profile (Phone Book Access Protocol). If it does, contacts will transfer automatically on connection. You can not transfer contacts the way you're trying to.
Contact Toyota and see if there is an update available for your system.

  • Pairing Volvo V60 Bluetooth with BB Curve 8520

I have trouble pairing my new car's Bluetooth with my BB Curve 8520. My car does not find my BB while all settings are active (bluetooth is on / it's discoverable etc.). On the other hand my BB finds MYCAR and I am prompted to fill in a password. When I type in 0000 or 1234 I get an error.
Can somebody let me know how this can be resolved? Is this a Volvo, BB, Bluetooth software or operator problem? Thanks for your help.
