Bluetooth worked fine, had to reinstall, now it doesn't

I'm so frustrated right now. I'm posting this here because my Bluetooth problem is my biggest headache, but it's not my only one.
I have the lowest end iMac and I used to run Windows 7 using Parallels. My primary reason for using Windows is gaming and a while ago my friend suggested that I switch to Boot Camp because it would increase my performance if I switched between OSs instead of running 2 at the same time. I switched to Boot Camp, the installation went smoothly and I was floored by how much it increased the performance of my games. I was happy.
After a while I had a bunch of games installed and decided I needed to increase the size of my 100GB partition I had originally created for Windows 7. The same friend let me borrow his copy of CampTunes which is supposed to simply and easily do just that. I went through its whole process and just before it finished I got an error message that said it had failed.
So I thought ok, I have a 2 TB backup drive partitioned with 1TB NTFS so I'll just backup Windows 7 on that and start over with Boot Camp, restoring it later. I do this and create a 200GB partition for Windows 7 on my hard drive and after I restore from my backup drive it tells me not everything could be restored. My downloads, documents, game saves, pictures, music and stuff are there, but it didn't restore any of my game or software installations or any settings I had customized. I am sad, but get over it and move on.
Finally here's the Bluetooth part. After installing the Boot Camp control panel and drivers from the Snow Leopard disc and running Windows and Mac software updates I am still unable to use my wireless mouse and keyboard. The first time I installed Windows 7 with Boot Camp my wireless stuff just worked right off the bat and I never had a problem. This time I can't even manually add these devices using the Blutooth control panel. It found my cell phone which I don't even want to use with my computer but it won't find my mouse and keyboard. Sorry for the long story but I figure the more info I give the greater the chance someone can help me.

SOLVED!
This is going to sound stupid but... I changed the batteries and was able to add my devices using the Bluetooth control panel.
Before you laugh at me, the mouse and keyboard were fully functional in OS X and had plenty of juice left. On a whim and as a last resort I replaced them with brand new batteries. It worked. Go figure.
Maybe this will help someone in the future. Put in brand new batteries and try again.

Sorry I'm not at home so I've gotta go off bad memory...
My setup has worked fine for a number of years. A non-simultaneous dual band Extreme is the main base station. I have a Express ethernet-ed to the network working without issue. There's also a newer Extreme farther away that has been wirelessly extending the network without too much issue until now. Airport Utility pops up now saying the newer Extreme is unable to extend. All I attempt to do is restart because all my settings seem to have been fine. Original base set to create with extend checked, and the newer Extreme set to extend with the same ssid, password etc.
So what's changed if I haven't changed anything? Newer versions of something?

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

It sounds like you may be having issues with the connectivity of your iPhone with the Bluetooth in your vehicle. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting that Bluetooth connectivity with your iOS device:
If you can’t use a Bluetooth accessory or car kit
To resolve the issue, you'll need to first sign in to iCloud and review your devices:
Sign in to iCloud on your iOS devices and Macs with OS X Yosemite (available this fall).
On one of your devices, tap Settings > Bluetooth and look under My Devices. You'll see all devices that are connected to Bluetooth, but make sure that you see your Apple devices that are signed in to iCloud and are using iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite.
Sign out of your iCloud account from any devices that you don't want to use. To sign out of iCloud on an iOS device, tap Settings > iCloud > Sign Out.
Then, remove any inactive devices from iCloud:
Sign in to iCloud.com.
Select Find My iPhone.
Select any devices that aren't active anymore.
Wait for Find My iPhone to stop trying to find the inactive device.
You should see the option to remove this device from your account. Select it to remove the device.
After following the steps above, restart the device with the issue. Then try to use it with your Bluetooth accessory.

I fixed a similar problem on my Audi after hours of struggle!!!
I turned off Siri from settings. I deleted bluetooth pairing with my car ("forget this device"). I re-established bluetooth connection. I turned Siri back on. All fine (so far).
It seemed to be Siri related.
If this works for the rest of you kindly pass it along to one or two of the other 1000 posts on this issue. People are very frustrated right now. Its not just Audi and Lexus and Ford - its every make/model on the planet! This one is not obvious.

I Had the same problem with a FireStudio. Try unplugging the FireWire plug and the power plug. Wait for a few seconds, then plug both back in. The light on my FireStudio was flashing blue/red which means "not connecting." I did what I just described, and everything works again. Hope it works for you.

Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then make sure that Session is unchecked in the settings for the Firefox application.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Are you following these instructions?
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

Skill Search works fine from search center, but it doesn't work from Lync client

My environment consists of Lync Server 2013 and SharePoint Server 2013.
I configured skill search and it works fine from search center, but it doesn't work from Lync client. An error appears says"error occurred during the search, please try again".
I configured these URLs in my client policy

I checked these URLs from the browser and they work fine.
I disabled anonymous access to _vti_bin, but no change then i checked lync log but i didn't find any error then i used Wireshark and found that when Lync client contacts Sharepoint, Sharepoint responded to it with internal server error http 500

Reformatted disk but restore didn't work properly, had to reinstall system and now having major kext errors

Basically I had to reformat my hard drive, and in order to do that I copied all the files from it to a disk image which I then used to restore through disk utility.
Now this worked as far as individual files go, but the OS for some reason didn't copy properly. After restoring from the image, the machine started up with an infinite pinwheel and apple logo, not going anywhere, so I eventually just reinstalled snow leopard from the original installer. This is fine as far as the system itself goes, but I'm having some very annoying issues - for one, some things which I had registered have reverted to trial versions (probably just a question of moving some preference files from the backup which got overwritten, shouldn't be too hard) but far more seriously, a bunch of kext extensions aren't loading, including one which is needed to run my external wifi antenna (the internal one is banjaxed, won't connect to any network unless you're sitting beside the router at all times).
Here's the console log. Why are these kexts not working, when they worked perfectly before the reformat? Still struggling to understand why copying the entire root dir to a disk image and then restoring from that image did not, as expected, yield an identical system, and why I even had to reinstall after doing this. But more urgently, how do I get these extensions working again? Using airport isn't sustainable, I can't sit on the stairs every time I want to use the internet

As you can guess, Ralink USB Wireless Driver is the one I'm having trouble with, although the other error you see, BoomDevice, is one of the apps which had been registered but has reverted to trial. The errors in console made me think it was a permissions issue, but repairing permissions, despite taking half an hour and modifying tons of files, did not resolve this issue.
How do I fix this, and also out of interest, why did it happen in the first place? I imagined formatting and restoring would be far, far less complicated than this O_o
EDIT: Should point out that obviously going from 10.6.8, the reinstall reverted to 10.6, and I haven't been able to upgrade since I can't get this internet kext working. Shouldn't be a problem though since the wireless driver was for 10.6.x...

Because there is a lot more going on under the hood than merely copying files.
The only way to do what you want is to use cloning software like Carbon Copy Cloner.
My advice is to rescue your personal files to a regular non-TimeMachine external drive, Zero erase the ENTIRE drive and install OS X fresh and update, then your programs from original sources and files from backup.
Then, make a bootable clone and you can copy that as many times as you want and each one is bootable.

SPSS working fine, had some disk problems, now it won't open.

I have a limited license SPSS statistics standard grad pack 21 that was running on snow leopard on an old Macbook Pro just fine untill my computer crashed.
When I say it crashed I mean I got the beachball of death and I rebooted it and it couldn't find the disk. So I then started it up while pressing the option key and got it find the disk, then repeatedly got the beachball of death when I tried to do anything (such as a backup) and kept warm rebooting it out of frustration until it couldn't get past the login window. Plugged it into my mac mini in target disk mode and tried to run a repair, couldn't get it to unmount, my Dad remotely logged on and went into terminal and after a while he got it to unmount and run a disk repair and then it booted up fine.
But now when I try to open SPSS it bounces on the dock for a half a second and then won't open. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it a multiple times and I'm still having the same symptoms. Java is up to date.
All my other applications are working fine besides SPSS. I don't think the version 21 that you BUY runs on snow leopard, but this student rental version is supposed to and it did before I had the crash.
I DID initially install it on a standard user instead of an admin, but have since reinstalled in on an admin and still same symptom. Tried to create a new admin user and open it on there and still the same symptom.
Need this stupid app for school. Have no idea what else to try.
Any ideas?
