Bluish fade out transistion problem

Hi there, I'm experiencing a bluish hue while my computer fades into black when going into full screen mode for iTunes, and also when then screen saver comes on. I also seem to experience it when the computer comes out of standby. Is there any fix for this?
video of the problem here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjceBvPHnZ8

Update to the problem, when I run calibrator do the expert calibration, when it comes to the gamma slider screen the screen turns bluish when i check the 'use native gamma' check box. The native gamma is 1.5. When I uncheck the box and the slider stays at 1.5 the blue is gone. Is it possible that programs use the native 'gamma' setting for fade sequences?
Also, the other gamma settings (like AdobeRGB1995) gives the same bluish hue. I do not experience this on my 24" iMac. Also, when my iMac fades out, the screen just turns a little washed out before fading out. I'm either guessing that the mac uses the Adobe RGB profile for full screen fade out, or that it uses the 'native gamma'.
One last thing, the native gamma on my iMac is 1.7. So is this an inherent problem for the Macbook Pro or is it a software problem? I'm pretty close to restoring my MBP to factory.

  • Fade Out audio problem

    Hi,
I've been trying to add a fade out transition to the end of a clip in iMovie HD but when I do so it fades the video to black but the audio does not fade, rather it stops and seems to play another clip of audio that does not match the video. The fade clip in the time line does show the audio as set to fade out. Any idea's?
    Thanks!

iMovie sometimes plays video (..and audio..) from a memory cache, and doesn't always play the actual effect you've set up.
    You could try Quitting from iMovie and then restarting the program and see if things play properly ..or, better still;
    1. Remove your Fade Out.
    2. Split your video clip just before where you want to apply the Fade.
    3. Extract the audio from the short clip.
    4. Apply the Fade Out ..the audio will be unaffected.
    5. Click 'View' and 'Show Clip Volume Levels' (or press Shift⌘L.
    6. Click on the line - in your extracted audio clip - which shows the normal volume level. Click further to the right and then drag down the right-hand portion of the line to create the audio fade you want.
Although this pic shows audio edited that way through a Cross Dissolve transition (..hence two extracted audio clips!..) it'll give you an idea of what the faded, separate audio clip should look like.

Not necessarily, if you are using Facetime all the data goes through your WiFi router, your cable/DSL modem, your ISP and the internet to Apple's Facetime servers and then, in reverse, down to the Facetime recipient. If your ISP connection is too slow or there is excessive traffic on the internet you can have Facetime problems.
Most WiFi routers can handle this unless others in the house are also using WiFi at the same time. The problem may be your ISP connection or congestion on the internet, etc.

  • Problem with 'Fade Out'

As part of an edit, I am trying to both 'Fade In' and 'Fade Out' of a particular video. The 'Fade In' works fine, but I'm having problems with the 'Fade Out'. For some strange reason, while the video part of it fades out properly, the audio that also fades out is not the correct audio - it is audio from earlier in the video (I'm assuming that - it is a live music video - the part that is fading out is crowd response, but the audio somehow has music in it)
This is my first time using iMovie '08 - I have used past versions of iMovie over the last few years and have NEVER had this problem. Any suggestions or known fixes? Any feedback much appreciated.

still confused. I don't get a yellow band when I select a clip - it just kinda gets highlighted.
Also - when I go to audio FX in the editing field, it really has nothing to do with selecting audio - just a bunch of equalizer options. Not really sure why a basic fade out wouldn't control both the video as well as audio of the clip. It always did in previous versions of iMovie.

  • Problems with fade outs - audio

    Hi
I have a problem that's driving me crazy. Whenever I add a fade out transition at the end of a clip, a random piece of audio from earlier in the clip appears at full volume alongside the fade. Is this a bug and does anyone know a way round it? iMovie 5 never used to do this.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ian

I had a similar issue just on the weekend. But, it wan't just the "fade out transition". Other transitions were affected by this same "bug".
I decided to fade out the audio first before applying the "fade out transition". This is not the solution which I wanted personally, but it did the trick. No random piece of audio.
I do agree that a real solution to the issue would be excellent! Hopefully, tech support at Apple will have something for afrocelt1121.
    Good Luck!

  • Editing audio, Fade Out Problems!

Hi I've imported an mp3 into iMovie to run alongside a movie. How do I remove the fade out all together so that it runs the whole track? I don't want to fade the track out, have already gone into audio editing panel. Any ideas?

    citybloc,
I have not done any audio editing in iMovie 08, only in iMovie HD. In the 08 application I made my audio edits in GarageBand. You have pretty good control of it there.

  • Problems with fade out

i'm trying to do a fade out at the end of rather long audio file, about 20 minutes, and the fade out function will not work. it works at the beginning of the track, i can click, create the little ball-points and drag them up and down as i please, but at the end, i create a ball point, then go to create another one to bring the fade down, and the first ball i created vanishes. i even tried creating a new music track separate from the one i created for the fade in, and same result. fade out doesn't work after about 3/4 of the way through the track. any suggestions?

The zoom setting deal.. it's the circle button right? With the L and R on it.. I tried moving it to L to zoom out but it doesn't change a thing. I was so proud of myself for finally learning how to fade in and out today.. but now this won't work. It's weird, once it passes like 520 or so, the ball disappears and the fading stops working (past that point).

  • Fade out problems

I added a fade out to a slide by going into the timeline view, and double clicking on the "Captured Animation" track, and then selecting fade out on the options tab.
When I preview it in the timeline, it looks fine.
However, when I export it, I can see the marking from when I must have moved the mouse, as it fades out. -it is very choppy.
Is there any way to make a clean fade out on a slide?
    Thanks!!

    Hi there
You might layer in a Highlight Box that is configured to "Fade in only". It would then gradually fade in and eventually obscure what it covers. You would configure it for 0% transparency.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Sound fade out problems

    Dear Motion Users,
I am creating a short animation and brought in a sond clip that I keyframed to fade out. It works fine in Motion, but when exported as a Quicktime .mov file the sound doesn't fade and stops abruptly when the clip ends.
    I am using motion 2, on a G5 with 2.5GB RAM and 800GB raid.
    Any thoughts?
I have tried bot of my partitions one has Panther the other has Tiger, to no avail
    G5 dual 2Ghz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Anybody have any idea as to when there might be a fix to this? I've been writing all these loops for network bumpers that I have created in Motion and it's kind of silly that a simple fade out function in Motion doesn't work. For now I am doing it directly in Logic, but it certainly would be nice if the function in Motion actually functioned.

  • What's the Best Way to do an Audio Fade-In or Fade-Out

I'm trying to figure out the best way to do an audio fade-out, other than placing a keyframe at the start of the fade, them placing a keyframe at the end of the clip and dragging it down to zero. It's hard to quickly place a keyframe at the end and know for sure it's at the very end.
In previsous versions of Premiere, I had trouble plading a keyframe and keeping it at 100%, just by placing a keyframe it would also adjust the level most of the time.  This seems to be less of a problem in CS4, but is there a way to be certain of inserting a keyfram at the current level. (A quick way.)
In general, there's got to be a quicker way to do a fade out or in!
I have Premiere Pro CS4 with a Matrox RTX2 card.
There are only three audio transitions:
    Constant Gain
    Constant Power
    Exponential Fade
I can't seem to make any of them work, cannot drag them over to an audio clip.

    Eddie:
I had seen those instructions before.
They say: To fade out a clip’s audio, drag an audio transition from the Effects panel to a Timeline panel so that it snaps to the Out point of the audio clip.
When I try to drage one of the three avaialable audio transistions to a clip:
    Constant Gain
    Constant Power
    Exponential Fade
    Nothing happens.
    WAIT.
I think I've got it now.  The "Snaps to the Out point" part.  Damn.  There was no visual feedback during the drag to indicate something was happening.
    OK.  (Whew.)
    Thanks!

hi all. When pressed play and make some changes in loop (eg fade in fade out) are very slow to implement, and also the loops from the library are very slow to play, corrects the somewhat self so is the Logic??

    Hey there Logic Pro21,
It sounds like you are seeing some odd performance issues with Logic Pro X. I recommend these troubleshooting steps specifically from the following article to help troubleshoot what is happening:
    Logic Pro X: Troubleshooting basics
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5859
Verify that your computer meets the system requirements for Logic Pro X
See Logic Pro X Technical Specifications.
Test using the computer's built-in audio hardware
If you use external audio hardware, try setting Logic Pro X to use the built-in audio hardware on your computer. Choose Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio from the main menu and click the Devices tab. Choose the built in audio hardware from the Input Device and Output Device pop-up menus. If the issue is resolved using built-in audio, refer to the manufacturer of your audio interface.
Start Logic with a different project template
Sometimes project files can become damaged, causing unexpected behavior in Logic. If you use a template, damage to the template can cause unexpected results with any project subsequently created from it. To create a completely fresh project choose File > New from Template and select Empty Project in the template selector window. Test to see if the issue is resolved in the new project.
Sometimes, issues with the data in a project can be repaired. Open an affected project and open the Project Information window with the Project Information key command. Click Reorganize Memory to attempt to repair the project. When you reorganize memory, the current project is checked for any signs of damage, structural problems, and unused blocks. If any unused blocks are found, you will be able to remove these, and repair the project. Project memory is also reorganized automatically after saving or opening a project.
    Delete the user preferences
You can resolve many issues by restoring Logic Pro X back to its original settings. This will not impact your media files. To reset your Logic Pro X user preference settings to their original state, do the following:
In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
    Press the Go button.
Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro X User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro X, then you may also wish to delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
If you have upgraded from an earlier version of Logic Pro, you should also remove~/Library/Preferences/Logic/com.apple.logic.pro.
    Restart the computer.
Isolate an issue by using another user account
For more information see Isolating an issue by using another user account.
    Reinstall Logic Pro X
Another approach you might consider is reinstalling Logic Pro X. To do this effectively, you need to remove the application, then reinstall Logic Pro X. You don't have to remove everything that was installed with Logic Pro X. Follow the steps below to completely reinstall a fresh copy of Logic Pro X.
In the Finder, choose Applications from the Go menu.
Locate the Logic Pro X application and drag it to the trash.
    Open the Mac App Store
Click the Purchases button in the Mac App Store toolbar.
Sign in to the Mac App Store using the Apple ID you first used to purchase Logic Pro X.
Look for Logic Pro X in the list of purchased applications in the App Store. If you don't see Logic Pro X in the list, make sure it's not hidden. See Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases for more information.
Click Install to download and install Logic Pro X.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • How can I have an object toggle between fade out and fade in with button?

    Hello all,
I have a problem and I was hoping someone out there could help me out with it.
I have smart shape that is set to show for "rest of project" on one of my early slides.  It is not visible in output in the properties, but when a user clicks a button in the project, it should fade in and then stay visible.  If the user clicks the same button again, it should fade out and stay hidden.  So rather than toggle between show and hide, which I know how to do, I want it to toggle between fade in and fade out.  I am having trouble with this.  Setting its transition to fade in and fade out in the properties of the smart shape doesn't help...
Here is the advanced action I have attached to the button that should allow the user to toggle between fade in and fade out.  The "if" parts works -- the object fades in and then finally "shows" at 100% the "else" part almost works.  It fades out, disappears, but then shows again, which I obviously dont want it to do.  I want it to stay hidden.
If you can help, it would be great!!

    I Don't
But as a work around you could try increasing the canvas size to match the illustrator file, paste in the object then crop off the excess canvas in photoshop

  • Can i create a new function (Fade out, Amplify down, Fade In)

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Audition version 3.0
Is it possible to define a new function, so that i can select a short piece of the audio file within Edit View, so that the first 5 miliseconds (of the selected piece of audio) will be applied a Fade Out, and the last 5 miliseconds will be applied a Fade In, and in-between will be Amplified by -12dB.
I have to do this hundreds of times within a 1 hour recording of speech which has many short pauses, in order to remove small external noises between the words.
I normally select (one by one) the space/pause between the words and amplify this by -12 dB.  Then i select the preceeding 5 miliseconds and apply a Fade Out.  And the 5 miliseconds after the pause a Fade In.
I have only discovered today how to create short-cuts, so at least i have a short cut for the Amplify, Fade Out and Fade In.
But it would be great, if i could somehow define a function as i described above, to do all 3 steps within the one function.
    Any help or tips appreciated.

You might be able to - but this is going to require quite a complex script that would need some serious editing by hand, and even then I'm not absolutely sure that it would work. The previous problem with this sort of script was that due to an 'anomaly' in the program, the - (minus) sign wouldn't work in a script, but I think that with the 3.0.1 patch, it does again. And even with this working, it's going to require some experimentation. Initially you need to refer to ryclark's method of entering absolute values which you will find here, and then you have to find a way to realise the whole operation a step at a time. You'd have to handle the fade out and the fade in separately, but where I think you might come considerably unstuck is trying to fade to -12dB for the middle section - that's probably the bit that would perhaps require slightly more than might actually be possible. I'd be quite happy to be proved wrong about that though!
I'm afraid that there's no documentation at all for the scripting language - this is something that Adobe, and Syntrillium before them, have never quite managed to provide, despite promising me some a while back. The good news though is that if you can make this work, then it's relatively straightforward to assign a shortcut key to it. But I should warn you now that this would be one hell of a script...
