Blur faces in iMovie 11

I have a short movie clip where I need to blur the faces of participants in a group therapy session. How can I do this in iMovie 11?

not exactly blurr,. but create a semi-transparent 'bar' in some paint-app and add as as a pic-in-pic ...
instead of a 'neutral' bar, you could work with a screen-grab of the face, as done here in my demo:
(should have blurred more in the minimized screen-shot, my son is still 'identifieable' ... )

Hello, how can i blurr out my face in iMovie 11? thanks.

To select multiple clips, hold down the command key as you click multiple clips. Then you can drag them all at once.
To drag all clips at once, select one, then Edit/Select All. Then drag them all.

  • How to blur face

I have a minute long video where I am following a person walking and filming his back. The person stops and when he turns around I want to blur out his face. How do I go about doing this. I have tried using the fast blur effect but it blurs the whole video. I also tried to use motion track but couldn't get this to work either. I am using Premiere Elements 8 on windows 7. I am new to this software and this might be very easy to accomplish. Any Help would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

Steve's link is probably better, as it is specific to PrE, but here is one TUTORIAL for Premiere, and the theories are the same.
Here is another TUTORIAL, and one would have to interpolate, as it is for softening skin tones, and you want more Blur, but again, the theory is the same. This one is done in PrPro 2.0, IIRC.
I also did a step-by-step on "highlighting a moving object," but it's also focused on PrPro. In that case, we altered other aspects of the dupe image with Track Matte Keying, but one could do that with Blur, rather than Levels. If it would be of use, I can link to it too.
    Good luck,

  • Blurring faces in Prem Pro 2.0

    Greetings.
I don't use Prem Pro too often so this is a question which I hope will provide an answer that will spare me a lot of trial and error.
I have a video clip which I need to blur one persons face over a 10 min duration. I'd like to ask what would be the best method to do this?  In the past I used an older (probably no longer in use!) software that required me to work frame by frame and move the "black bar" over a persons eyes. I'd like to think that in Prem Pro one no longer needs to work frame by frame!
Can anybody who has done this sort of process please provide any thoughts or suggestions on the best way to go about it.
    Thank you.
    D.

    Hi Curt
Thanks so much for the video tutorial. I'll go over it later. Looks exactly like what I need to do.
    Cheers.

  • Blur area in iMovie 13

    Hi,
Is there any way to blur an area, like a number plate for example, in iMovie 13?  I see plenty of techniques for previous versions, but failed applying these to the '13 version.
    Many thanks,
    c

Yes I had this problem as well, I found out that you have to Drag the clip from EVENTS into your PROJECT.
But when you do so, make sure that you drag it just over the top, not actually into the clip. The icon should then appear.
    Hope this helps

ok am using fcp5.1 on g5 and am very new to fcp...used to use another program but this is different...
placed the original file on v1 and a copy on v2.
have hidden v1 so i don't get confused.
just need to block out a small piece of video
i dropped a mask shape on canvas v2 - ok
went to filters screen behind viewer window - can't make adjustments in mask shape parameters...they don't show up...
image and wire frame ok...got that..but if i make it smaller it just reduces in size not cropping in shape
    Am I missing something?
have tried the cops tutorial ...looks easy...but can't get the result
    pls help

Once you drop a filter on a clip you need to double-click on it again to load it back into the viewer with the filter. THEN you can make adjustments..click on the FILTER tab.

  • IMovie 6 HD - TV Screen Images are blurred

How do I created iMovie DVD that plays clear images and text?
I do not want to keep wasting DVDs experimenting for clear result.
I created iMovie per instructions from another post:
    imported screenshots of website using KenBurns effect;
set the effect to 1.0 to stop zooming, and did not allow iMovie to render movie when exporting.
Discussion indicated that blurred image in iMovie would be clear on TV screen.
Imported snapshots were crystal clear in Preview and Photoshop.
Imported iMovie to iDVD and burned DVD.
DVD plays blurred images and text.

Are you saying I should size any still images at 768x576 pix before importing them into iMovie since that is TV resolution?
If you are using PAL, yes. For NTSC, the resolution is 640x480 pixels.
Does it matter what dpi the images are?
No, the dpi is of NO concern in video.
If snapshot captures screen images at 72dpi,
does it help to increase dpi of image in Photoshop?
    No.
or is that only interpolating dpi since capture was at 72dpi?
    Yes.

  • Blurring out MULTIPLE and moving faces-Can this be done?

    Hi-
I need to work on a project that will entail blurring out the faces of a few people running in and out of a room. So it's the nightmare of multiple moving faces!!!
    Any ideas?
Oh, and the sequence is about 45 minutes long!!!!!

What's wrong with Andy's region Blur, Dina?
The answer is yes, you can mask and blur faces in Motion, however you don't want to create a 45 minute project in Motion - that's not what it's good at. It's made for short segments...

  • Is there a "blur moving object" feature in Premiere Pro 2, like for pixelating a moving face?

Is there a "blur moving object" feature in Premiere Pro 2, like for pixelating a moving face?
When I went to post this question, I put "blur" in the tags, and it offered me a list of tags with the word "blur", including "path blur", which sounds like what I'm looking for, but I a did a search in the PDF manual for Premiere Pro 2, and it didn't find that anywhere.
    Thanks,
    digi

There is no path option in PP2
If the subject is moving you need to keyframe position over time yourself.

  • Sharing an edited iMovie

I am using iMovie version 10.0.4 to edit a screencast that I have developed on my Mac Book Pro. I have imported my original screencast and edited it down to a 45-minute final product. When I attempt to share the final version, it is only sharing a small portion (2-3 minutes) of the finished product - not the entire thing. This happens when I share as a file or via email. In total, it says there are "44 item" that may up this movie. Is it possible that only one item is being shared? How do I share the whole thing?

    Hi andreaparrish,
You may need to make sure that your whole project is selected when you choose to share the project. If there is only one clip in the project selected, then iMovie may try sharing just that clip. You can see the length of the clip you are about to share in the popup window, below the preview window right next to the black clock face icon:
    iMovie (2013): Share online
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14735
If the length of your whole project does not match the length listed in that window, then you know your whole project has not been selected to share. Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • Bluring faces

I'm looking for information on a plugin or some other such program that could help me do motion tracking automatically, in order to blur faces.
Basically what Im doing right now is creating a new duplicate track of the segment i want to blur, creating a shape matte (oval) and giving it a gaussian blur. Then keyframing the oval matte's center to track the face.
The problem is this show is in an extremely fast turn around (as in sometimes they give me footage on monday afternoon and want a final cut on wednesday morning).
Now bluring one face on screen is no biggie, my powerbook can handle that very well. My problem comes with some footage we've been geting lately that has 5 or more faces that must be blurred. Thats 6 or more (record so far is 9) tracks with independently running mattes! tracking each individual face on handheld footage becomes a very time consuming task. Specially since with 5 unrendered matteshapes on top of each other you can't scrub very effectively on the powerbook.
So i'm looking for any tips or strategies, or even software , that would make tracking these faces quicker.
    Daniel Colmenares

Daniel, Lyric Media has just such a plugin, called Pin Blur, as part of it's motion-tracking kit for FCP. It will automatically track a feature on the face and then animate a configurable blur over the face. You can try out a demo version, which is available for download here: http://www.lyric.com/fcp-plugins/index.htm.
    Hope you find it useful,

  • Plug-in for pixelize faces (black bar...)

Once I had a plug-in to pixelize faces in iMovie, any freeware download suggestions? Thank You

    Hi Rebecca,
I did locate the changes to be made but they are in the actual application file. If the preference files lower your comfort level I would assume you wouldn't want to try this. Simply changing the RGB numbers did the trick to maintain a single solid color.
I have a number of slide shows that can do exactly what you want. This is one of the more popular ones that my friends like. The Mac desktop pictures dissolve into each other the background.
    http://homepage.mac.com/sweetpollypurebred/iMovieTheater5.html
If you are running 10.3.9 you will need QT 7.1+ for it to "work". The slide transitions and background are sound activated so yo will need to mic a speaker or talk into your mic.
I don't usually sell or distribute my plug-ins or effects and if you just want to use it for your personal use I would be glad to send you one if you could assure me you won't share it and provide me with some feedback of what you do or don't like about it.
