Bluray disc not recognised on HP Touchsmart IQ525UK, using Windows 7.

I recently bought myself the above PC, & paid the extra £22 to get the upgrade to Windows 7. I've now bought my first bluray disc, but when i put it into the drive, nothing happens. the drive doesn't even appear to 'see' it. I didn't have the disc before i upgraded to 7, so i don't know if it would've worked on Vista or not.
Any suggestions anyone? i really want to watch this movie, so any hints or tips you have would be greatly appreciated.

Hey dianbrat, i too have almost the exact same issue (on an IQ505a) , except that I can touch the icon on the bottom right, and it will launch the app, but it takes FOREVER!!! Also, for some reason since upgrade to 7, the actual 'touch' function has gone! The screen beeps, but no cursor moves etc, have all the latteset downloads from HP, tried recalibrating, etc etc....alos read elsewhere to try PC TABLET INPUT, I can locate it in search but clicking on it does nothing.... thoughts? Suggestions? (Appreciated as I am going outta my mind trying to figure it out).... Cheers

Windows 7 installer disc not recognised

I'm running a mac mini 3.1 with 10.6.8. When the bootcamp assistant asks for the windows 7 installer disc, it is not recognised and ejects.
The disc can be read by my Macbookpro however, and the mac mini reads other discs. Do I need other drivers , is the mini even compatable?

Redownload and burn it at a slower setting in Disk Utility.

I am trying to create a Windows 7 partition on my Macbook Pro (late 2009) running OSX Lion 10.7.2 with Boot Camp 4.
Clicking on "Install" button to create the partition and install Windows with the disc in the drive gives an "The windows installer disc could not be found" error. The disc is a downloaded Windows 7 installer disc image, unpacked so it looks exactly like a standard Windows install disc with all files (i.e not a single ISO or image file).
Could the content of the disc be an issue, as to why the Mac cannot read the disc? I have read in another support thread that the solution to this is to burn an Windows 7 ISO as an image (DMG?), so would keeping an ISO file on the disc work?

Your instructions were so helpful! I was struggling with this for a few days. I tried multiple times to burn the .iso file onto the DVD and this was the only method that worked. Bootcamp Assistant replied with "installer disc could not be found" for all other attempts. If you are downloading Windows 7 from the internet (from your school or something), then DEFINITELY USE THIS METHOD BECAUSE IT WORKS.
Heres exactly what I did to get Windows 7 running on my Mac:
A. Download Windows 7 file; if file is an ".img" change it to an ".iso"
B. Follow burning method from "miguel.loff" YOU MUST USE A DVD not a CD
1) Insert blank CD
2) Open Disk Utility (Applications>Disk Utility)
3) From the File menu, choose Open Disk Image and select the .iso that you want to burn
4) In the list of volumes (at the left of the window), you will now see an item representing the .iso file. Select it.
5) Click on the burn button and you're done.
C. Open Bootcamp Installer on your mac and follow instructions. Download Windows 7 support software to an external hard drive. THE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE MUST BE FORMATTED TO MS-DOS(FAT) (idk what that means but its easy to do.) In order to preserve the mac portion of your external HD, create a Windows partition for you your external hard drive [MS-DOS(FAT) ] in the same disc utility used to burn the DVD
D. Insert Windows 7 Disc; Partiton your computer's HD, and then Windows installion will begin

DVD-R Disc not recognised in Lion.

I find I cannot play a DVD-R ( I receive a message saying it is not recognised!) whereas It used to work well. Since I upgraded to Lion some time ago It has worked sometimes and not others. Has anybody got any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thankyou June

Can be one or more of several things - I'll Guess
• Did You really make a Video-DVD (via a DVD authoring program) - he ones that are burned from DeskTop are Data-DVDs
• Brand of DVD - Matters - I only use Verbatim
• Type of DVD - Matters - Here You seem to do like me - use DVD-R as
DVD+/-RW or DVD+R - is not my choice
• DL-DVDs use to give more problems than SL-DVDs
• I RUN A CLEANING DVD (no liquid - but the brush onses) from time to time
• Trash iDVD pref file - or rather start a new User-Account and have a new go (this way by-passes lot's of pref. and cache files.
• Run repair permissions - Disk Util tool
• Run repair hard disk - Disk Util tool (but to do this You need to re-start Mac - BUT NOW FROM DVD or external HD with Mac OS)
• Free space on start-up Hard Disk - I never let this go less than 25Gb

Ipod nano 6th gen not recognised at all in itunes or windows

Nano was recognised as a device first two times i used it but now not recognised in itunes or in my computer as an ipod. Followed various help suggestions but no change. Does t need software restoring and if so how if not recognised in itunes?

This problem now solved after a few hours browsing Apple help and other forums like this - tried connecting through usb ports at rear of computer instead of front and instantly itunes recognised it. Odd since I can still connect my camera through front usb ports - the mystery of computers eh? Anyone know how to fix front usb ports?

IPod not recognised by iTunes, can't use updater.

So I downloaded the updater and tried to update my iPod Nano. Worked fine until near the end, then it got stuck on 'Do Not Disconnect'. Left it a while, eventually had to disconnect it. That lost all my music. Which I don't mind because I can just restore it all with iTunes.
Problem is, iTunes doesn't seem to realise that my iPod exists and, worse, when I try to open the updater with the iPod plugged in, it just freezes. I can't even open the iPod's folder in My Computer or right-click it, that just causes that window to freeze, until I eventually unplug the iPod.
Also, every time I unplug the iPod, I get a message saying "Windows was unable to save all the date for file J:. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."
(Using Windows XP, BTW)

Thumbnails will not load in elements 12 organizer, using windows 8.1

The thumbnails will not load (hourglass icon appears on each photo) on Elements 12 using Windows 8.1. I have updated the Elements to Core Version 12.1. Any ideas how to fix this?

I'm sure that when I close the browser in either OS before switching to the other, the following two conditions are true in the Advanced tab of the Firefox Preferences menu:
1) "Use autoscrolling" is enabled (with a check mark)
2) "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup" is disabled (no check mark)
The autoscrolling feature allows you to scroll by holding down the middle mouse button and moving the mouse up and down. The extension you linked to, ScrollyFox, enables scrolling by clicking a button in the Firefox UI, which is quite a different feature. So unfortunately the problems still remain.

I try to interface my spectrometer (NIRquest from ocean optics) using labview on my 64 bits cumputer using windows 7.
I have absolutely no problem to run the spectrometer with the program dedicated to the spectrometer (called Spetrasuite).
I've installed "OmniDriverSPAM-1.66-win64-development-installer.exe" and everything went right.
When I select a VI in LabView (e.g."wrapper_create.vi") from the wrapper.llb, LabView returns an error :
"Call Library Function Node 'Wrapper.Create': Library not found or failed to load."
I chek the call library function, but everyting seems to be right :
I use LabView 8.6.1 and my others *.vi are running perfectly...
Do you have any idea from where does the problem comes ?

In addition to smercurio_fc's feedback I can confirm that LabVIEW 8.6.1 doesn't exist in 64-bit version.
Officially, LabVIEW 8.6.1 doesn't support Windows 7 either.
The minimal version of LabVIEW you would need to both support Windows 7 and exist in 64-bit version is LabVIEW 2009 64-bit or any 64-bit versions which are more recent.

Photoshop Elements 11 disc not recognised by Computer running Windows 8

Have tried 2 discs having returned the first one thinking it was faulty. All my other discs are fine but the computer just does not see this one can anyone help ?

Tried that it shows the drive icon but no dvd. Double clicking just opens the drive drawer with a prompt to insert a disc. Just tried the disc in another computer running an older version of Windows and it read it ok so its not the disc!

Hard disc not recognised on hp 625

hi all,
i have an hp 625 laptop which ive had for a month or so.went to power it up yesterday (working perfectly the night before,powered down properly etc.) and no joy 8 (
i get a windows logo briefly then it just restarts with same again.
if i use my windows recovery disc which came with it,it gets as far as setup and asking where you want to install windows,but no hard disc shows up !! so it wont install to a disc it cant see.
any help much appreciated,

ps at the moment,i am trying to use hp's own hard disc checking tool (when you press escape at startup) and it is certainly taking forever to check something !no conclusion yet tho

Bought Notebook 2011. GREAT! But Hard disk "imminent failure " after 13 months. Managed to save backup to disks and Borrowed my wife's DELL and bought new HDD, but didn't fit it till 2014, then was told it was wrong one. In April, spent more cash on correct HDD from PC WORLD, fitted it, but now black screen and "NO BOOTABLE DEVICE". Did all HDD AND memory tests - all passed. Checked error log (only two errors - 0301 and 03F0). The dates are all on the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th April, 2015.

New Nano 4Gb is not recognised by itunes but is by Windows XP

I previously had a iPod Mini which recently failed so I have purchased a 4Gb Nano this week
However when I connect it to my computer I can see it in explorer but not in iTunes (when I conect my girlfriends 2 Gb Nano to my computer it is recognised by both Windows and iTunes)
In addition when ever I plug it in Windows starts up autoplay
When I disconnect the Nano even safely the Nano resets itself and asks for the language I wish to use
Any ideas on how to fix this or is it time to return this. I have trie hard resets when connected and not connected

iPod doesn't appear in iTunes but does in Windows
I would suggest doing a restore on your iPod (this will format your iPod to this computer).
You won't be able to do that yet, since if you open up the iPod Updater, do you get a "iPod Service Error" or "can't mount iPod" (I presume you will get one of those messages)?

Overall, in this situation, I suggest assigning your iPod a different drive letter, then try restoring it:
