Blurred fonts

Hi!
There are parts of my webpage which contains very blurred
fonts:
http://bugyinszkilaszlo.uw.hu/102eng.html
when you click on whiteful jazz quartet, then members, then
peti, you can see under "discography" that the fonts are not really
sharp, but that's what i would like to have. In the "story"-part
you can see that the beginning of the line is good, but the end is
blurred again... and it's the same textfield!!!
I don't really understand this. I use 12pts big DeJavu Serif
font, bitmap text (no antialias).

Ok, I found the problem. Somewhere along the line, your
movieclip size got jacked up. One of them was 100.1% by 100.4% and
another was 100.1% by 100.0%. Check all your movie clips and make
sure they are all 100% by 100% (this is done under the "transform"
tab). That will fix your blurred text.
Regarding your size issue, under publish settings > flash
tab > options section, click "generate size report". Then when
you publish, you will get a size breakdown of everything in your
file and you can easily pinpoint where the majority of your file
size is coming from.

  • I keep getting blurred fonts in v19 and v20 beta, problem started with v19.0.2 upgrade

    First noticed this on Google news items. Text would blur when I moused over a story. Since this started about two weeks ago I now have seen it happen in pull down menus on Amazon and Ebay as well. Those are the only three sites. This is happening on a desktop with i7 first gen and win7 running.
    Selecting the blurred text temporarily fixes the blurring problem. Also, turning on the snipping tool to capture the image fixes it so I had to use print screen to get a screen capture of this effect.

    Here is the screen shot of the blurred text on Google news. Note that the first two news stories have clear text as I did not mouse over them. The other stories have blurry text.
    I updated to v20 beta and instead of fixing the problem the text may be even blurrier now. I posted this image in response to another forum question regarding blurred fonts in b17n but the solutions offered seemed to contradict one another and I do not know if they apply to these newer versions as some folks claimed the problem had been fixed in newer releases.

  • Blurred fonts on external 1080p display

    I have Samsung S24C650PL 1080p (connected with HDMI), which I bought one year ago. I used it a lot with Windows without any issues. Two weeks ago I bought my first Macbook Pro Retina 13 with Yosemite and since than it is a pain to use the external display.
    All fonts are significantly more blurred than with Windows. It very unpleasant.
    Especially scanned PDFs are horrible, very difficult to read, much worse than the rest of the system.
    What is, however, really weird, if I move the Preview app with the PDF from the internal display to the external, it shows the right and sharp image for cca one second before it becomes blurred. So it is obviously software-related issue.
    What I tried to fix it:
    Deactivate "Use LCD font smoothing when available" --> no effect at all
    Deactivate "Smooth text and line art" --> no effect
    Use any possible settings in "Displays" --> no effect
    Call the Apple support and talk with them for 40+ minutes --> no effect and no help
    As last hope, I tried "Force RGB mode in Mac OS X to fix the picture quality of an external monitor" (see http://www.ireckon.net/2013/03/force-rgb-mode-in-mac-os-x-to-fix-the-picture-qua lity-of-an-external-monitor) --> no effect
    What is even more weird, if I use Parallels with Windows, it is okay! Even in the a window and not in fullscreen, the Windows show everything just as they should - crisp and sharp lines and fonts, while the background in OS X is blurred.
    The unique "workaround" I found is related to PDFs and their readability.
    Installation of Acrobat Adobe, which uses obviously a different rendering engine than Preview app. (However, I don`t like the app.)
    Installation Foxit Reader for Windows under Wine (even that is much better than Preview app.), however, it has its own issues.
    However, I don`t have any workaround for the rest of the system... and I just don`t know what to do...
    I would appreciate any help. I do like hardware from my new MBPr, but I am pretty frustrated from bugs of this kind...

    I'm not sure if my problem is related, but I'm also connecting my MacBook to a Dell LCD panel via the mini DisplayPort-to-DVI adapter and I'm getting weird on-screen artifacts and intermittent flickering.
    There's a known problem if you're using the mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter and Apple has provided a firmware update to fix the problem. If you're using that (and connecting to your Dell monitor via an additional VGA-to-DVI dongle, then you might want to grab the update.
    But as far as I know, there doesn't seem to be a solution for the DVI adapter.

  • IMOVIE issue with blurred fonts on title screens

    Hoping someone knows a reason why a newly created title that appears fine (readable fonts) in the preview pane is blurred when viewing full screen option? pitch is set at 48 - marker felt font with outline option - Use to work fine -

    Can you try to convert the EPS in the Distiller to a PDF file, but make sure that
    you have not used any false style on the first place in the file,
    that all used fonts and styles are installed on the computer,
    that the file and the licence is allowing you to embed the font into a PDF and
    that you make a Distiller Joboption which will embed completely all used fonts, or at least all used glyphs.

  • Blur fonts after a system upgrade

    Hello all
    I've done a pacman -syu, and it did an upgrade to the kernel (2.6.23-ARCH) and i'm not sure if it  upgraded x-server too.
    The question is, now my fonts (my X-server) are all blury, like without anti-alias, it's very hard to see the letters, and the resolution is all wrong. I've checked the fonts dirs, and configuration, everything is ok, i haven't done anything but the upgrade, so i don't know what could be wrong. Anyone had the same problem or knows the fix for this?
    I'm putting here 2 screenshots (1 of my desktop, the other of this post)  i hope you can see my problem

  • Fuzzy / Blurred fonts in Dzen2 - not interpreting commands.

    Hey all -
    I'm trying to get Dzen2 setup with XMonad, and am having some trouble.  Take a look at the screenshot, and you will notice two things:
    1) All of the fonts in my dzen instance are fuzzy.
    2) It isn't actually interpreting commands... it is just printing them.
    I'm having trouble sorting out the problem.  Any help that anyone could provide would be wonderful.
    My configs are based on Thayer's.  Here is my xmonad.hs,

    Okay, so here is a cropped picture of what the dzen bars look like:
    You can see where for some of them, it prints correctly on the top bar, and for some you can still see the 'a^' function wrapper, which is actually supposed to be '^ca', but for whatever reason just fails.  In the second bar, which I placed in the middle of the screen just for debugging, you can see how totally hosed it is.

  • Font smoothing whilst using zoom??

    I am a visually impaired person, who has just converted to a Mac! I'm using the built in zoom feature, but am having trouble with blurred fonts whilst using zoom. I have tried adjusting screen contrast, colours, smoothing styles, but can't get a sharp image for fonts when they are magnified. Does anyone have any tips or soluions to help me with this?
    mac mini   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    The problem here is that the zoom facility simply magnifies the pixels on the screen.
    For documents such as web pages, try changing the size of the font used first; the Safari shortcut is cmd + (command and plus sign), and the reverse is cmd - (command and minus sign), being careful not to take it down smaller than the starting size when you reduce it again. A judicious combination of that with the screen zoom feature should enable you to deal with most web pages.
    For PDFs, use the zoom built in to Preview (again, the shortcuts are cmd + and cmd -) to get the document to a legible size, then use the screen zoom if necessary.
    For your own documents, pick your fonts carefully—you'll probably find Andale Mono, Geneva, Helvetica, Lucida Grande, Tahoma and Verdana to be the most legible. Then set the default font size to, say, 16 or 18 point to begin with, work on your document making fonts bigger or smaller as needed, zooming in and out as you wish. When you've finished it, select all (cmd A) then reduce the font size uniformly (normally cmd -), perhaps four steps, taking your 16-point down to 12, which will look fine when you print it or fax it. At this point, you no longer need to read the text, so can concentrate on the shape of the layout, moving line and paragraph breaks around as you wish to achieve an aesthetic appearance.
    Similarly, any text documents you are sent that can be opened in a word processor can have their fonts changed or enlarged. Work on a copy if you're worried about overwriting an original.
    Hope this helps,
    Archie

  • Blurred labels in the iPad app

    Hello,
    We have been developing an iPad app and we are seeing one strange issue.
    Once we deploy app on device , in some of the iPads we see that fonts of all the labels are coming as blurred (fonts are visible but are faded/blurred).
    In some iPads, we can see the issue but couldn't see the issue on all the iPads.
    It is not os specific (seen on both ios5 and ios6) . Issue doesn't go even after killing app or reinstalling it.
    If device show issue , it will always be there and if device doesn't show issue, it won't show it ever.
    Any input on when this can happen or anyone has seen it before?

    Yes, you can make folders.
    Tap Documents in the left hand column
    Navigate to where you want to make the folder
    Choose "Edit" in the top right toolbar
    Tap the icon that is a Folder with a Plus sign on it

  • Toshiba 22L1334G problems with HDMI

    First of all, thanks everyone for trying to help me :)
    Now let's get to the problem: i bought this Tv-Monitor yesterday and i've immediatly connected it to my PC (Video Card AMD R9 270X) with HDMI cable (The cable is rev. 1.4 and less then 1.5m).
    The overall definition is very good, but i actually have 2 problems:
    first, the colors are really saturated and i can't get them natural even setting the Video Card Values.
    Second, the text with little font if it isn't black is very blurred and pixeled, very difficoult to read.
    Searching o Google i found similiar problems for lot's of people, but they resolved the problems simply setting the HDMI as PC input.
    Unfortunately they were using Samsung's or LG's displays and in my Toshiba one there isn't the setting to set the HDMI as PC signal.
    What can i do to use this TV as monitor in a good way?

    Hi
    First of all I have to say that this Toshiba 22L1334G device isnt an PC monitor but its an TV which can be connected to the computer using the available RGB (VGA) port.
    So in case you want to connect an computer to this TV and want to use it as an external monitor, you should use the available VGA port
    I have to say that I had the same problems in the past with the blurred fonts using the HDMI port.
    I connected had an monitor/TV combo device and connected my notebook to an external monitors HDMI port.
    The blurred fonts were really a pain using office applications But I found a solution; my device supported an additional DVI port and I could connect my notebook to monitor using HDMI-to-DVI cable.
    My other monitor supports from another manufacturer supports additional settings to change the font sharpness so I can use the HDMI port.

  • Server side script not running on stand-alone XE

    Hello,
    In my application I created a Server side script (AJAX) which presents a select-list based on other fields on the page. The very same application runs on a 10g+APEX3.0.1 database AND on a standard XE+APEX2.1 database, which are both accessed via a HTTP-server. The application with the script runs fine on this platform (XP).
    I have two other XP-machines on which I also installed XE+APEX2.1. Both are stand-alone versions NOT accessed via a HTTP-server. I installed exactly the same application which runs on the platform with HTTP server on both of the machines. While testing the correct functioning, I noticed that everything works ok, EXCEPT the server side script which gives me a better select list. Instead of this I get the old-fashioned version of the select-list which is not able to use the value elsewhere on the page.
    I found a similar problem on the XE forum (Re: Server side scripts features ) but it doesn't answer my question how to get the script working on a standalone version of XE (= without access via a HTTP-server).
    Can anybody please help me?
    Thanks & regards,
    Jan.

    Carl,
    Thanks for your suggestion to install FireFox and the Firebug tool (which I wasn't aware of).
    After having looked at the problem for hours, I found what I think is the problem: the htmldb_html_elements.js script.
    As already mentioned, the properly functioning XE on my local PC is accessed via a HTTP-server, as well as the 10gR2+APEX3.0.1 version also running on that PC.
    On the laptop, not running HTTP-server, I get the message: <br>
    <FONT COLOR="RED">$x is not defined <BR>
    <FONT COLOR="BLUE"> f_21_select_kpn<FONT COLOR="RED">(<FONT COLOR="BLUE">input<FONT COLOR="BLACK">#P21_GBREKNR 405<FONT COLOR="RED">, "P21_KOSTENPOST") <BR>
    <FONT COLOR="BLUE">onblur<FONT COLOR="RED">(<FONT COLOR="BLACK">blur <FONT COLOR="RED">)
    </FONT><BR>
    That is in the 'Console' of Firebug.
    When changing to Script I do see a remarkable difference.
    On the PC there the following text is found in the first lines of htmldb_html_elements.js:
    /*htmld_elements will contain the lower level html access js*/<br>
    var gDebug = true;<br>
    var gkeyPressTime;<br>
    var gLastTab=false;<br>
    var gRegex=false;<br>
    var ie=(document.all)?true:false;<br>
    if(ie){document.expando=true;}<br>
    var gDebugWindow = false;<br>
    /*<br>
    $x functions have to do with either single elements or array of elements<br>
    $v functions have to have to do with manipulating values or interaction based off a value<br>
    $xml function have to do with manipulating xml values<br>
    $a functions are based on ajax<br>
    $d functions are specific dhtml constructs<br>
    */<br>
    /* begin $x functions */<br>
    function $x(pNd){<br>
    try{<br>
    var node;<br>
    ...<br><br>
    On the laptop however the first few lines are:<br><br>
    /*htmld_elements will contain the lower level html access js*/<br>
    <br>
    var gDebug = true;<br>
    var gkeyPressTime;<br>
    var gLastTab=false;<br>
    var gRegex=false;<br>
    if(document.all){document.expando = true;}<br>
    // Elements //<br>
    <br>
    function html_GetElement(pNd){<br>
    try{<br>
    var node;<br>
    switch(typeof (pNd)){<br>
    ...<br><br>
    I think that the difference is in these two scripts.
    But why are the scripts different: it is the same XE that is installed on the laptop and the PC.<br>The answer I found in the images/javascript directory of APEX3.0.1 which is located in the APACHE directory-tree (you have to copy the images to APACHE when you use the HTTP-server). And indeed: the htmldb_html_elements.js has exactly the same text as what I see in Firebug on the PC. So XE on the PC is using the javascripts in the image-directory of APACHE on the PC and not the XE-version of the scripts, embedded in XE.
    <br><br>
    So the answer seems to be: copy the APEX3.0.1 versions of the script over to the PC and try to get them into the database. Or...???
    <br>
    Can it be loaded into the database? Will XE accept it?
    <BR><br>
    Would be nice to have answers if the conclusion I found is the right one and if it can be fixed by loading the js into XE.
    <br>
    Best regards and thanks for your help so far.

  • CS3 Requires Segoe UI - Not good for CRT users on Vista.

    Hi,
    I am posting this in hope that the Adobe designers can remove the requirement for Segoe UI in their user interface.
    I have had to make certain special changes so that I could disable Segoe UI and ClearType in Vista so my screen looks clear. Segoe UI, ClearType, and Vista do not mix well.
    But the only fix I know that removes Segoe UI from the Vista UI does not allow users to use Photoshop CS3 because Photoshop REQUIRES Segoe UI as the UI font. So this leaves CRT users forced to use undesirable settings in Vista, which are blurred fonts that can contribute to eyestrain. You can trick Photoshop to use Tahoma by setting Photoshop to run in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode. I do not know if this would cause any problems on Vista or not. So this MAY be a workaround.
    Segoe UI is a Cleartype font, which looks terrible on Vista when users use CRT's (these are still common and sold for many reasons, especially for exact color graphics and other things requiring super clarity). See my article at http://steve.fsxtreme.com/blogs/2008/01/16/say-no-to-segoe-and-cleartype-on-vista/ on how I fixed it on my system. But doing this disables PhotoShop, which leaves people in a difficult position.
    Forcing Segoe UI on customers with CRT's was a major oversight by Microsoft IMO. I hope you all can change your product to allow for non-Cleartype fonts in your user interfaces.
    Adobe has a KB article discussing this requirement... http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402311.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    You can configure Vista so it works a lot like XP.
    1. Install Vista.
    2. Disable User Account Control.
    3. Make Sure Data Execution Protection is set to Essential Programs and Services only.
    4. Disable the Aero Desktop.
    5. Disable the Indexing service
    6. Disable Windows Defender.
    7. Right-click Program Files (with subfolders) and change the Owner to your account.
    8. Change the permissions of Program Files (with subfolders) so that your account has full control.
    9. (Optional) - Change your desktop theme to Windows Classic so you do not have that awful blue XP style title bar and frame.
    10. Use the various tweaks common on the net to reconfigure IE7 (move the menu to the top, hide the command bar, etc...).
    With the above, I almost have an EXACT XP like experience. Asides from a few relocations of items, it all feels the same. Of course I had to use the NoSegoe tweak to get rid of Segoe UI as I use a new 21-inch CRT. But overall, it is no different now from Windows XP.
    It is a lot to have to do! But it is better than the alternative if I must use Vista in my job, which I need to do.
    Also, I use a good virus scanner that allows for me to use it as I need it, such as NOD32.

  • Why is code font blurred in Dreamweaver CC?

    Hi,
    Aim: I want to match how code looks on my new Mac Mini (using DWCC on a Dell U2412 screen) with how it looked on my old 24" iMac (using DW CS5).
    Issue: I had my code certain colours, size and font which I've tried to match in the new version. I can't get the font to display the same. I used Monaco at 7pt on the iMac but the same font and size is now antialiased in DWCC, where previously it wasn't. Is there anything I can do about this? I've read it could be something to do with the latest CC versions being set up for Retina/hi-DPI screens. Consequently the font that wasn't aliased now is due to the sharper screen you get on Retina displays requiring it. If this is the case I'd really like a way to turn it off.
    As a side note to this, we use ColdFusion a lot and I can't change any of the code colours on those pages like I can .html files. This probably sounds a non-issue but combine the lack of my usual colour scheme with the blurred/aliased font and it's really making it hard for me to see my code clearly. If I can't change code colours on CFM pages or turn off the aliased font, can anyone recommend a good, free, coding font for Mac OSX please?
    Thanks in advance

    My issue with the CF part is I can't change the colours of the code, as in 'Preferences > Code Coloring'. Not that the code has no colouring. I don't like the default code colours and have my own set I've used for years. When I tried adding as you mention the extensions to the 'Edit in Code...' section it didn't change the fact I can't change the colours of the code. I've just got really used to seeing 'my' code colouring and not the default that with every update of DW the first thing I've done is change all the colours in Preferences.
