Blurred / out of focus screen

I placed my new PowerBook G4 15" next to an identical PowerBook and my screen / display is more blurred. Documents, icons, everything is blurred on mine, clear on the other.
I checked all "display" settings in Sys Prefs and they are identical on both PowerBooks:
millions of colors
1280 x 800 (stretched)
I selected 'calibtrate' but this just calibrates colors.
Am I missing something?

LCD screens only look best in their native resolution (which should be the highest res available to you). Otherwise the pixels mathematically calculated and will look a little fuzzy. So be sure to compare screens when both are set to native resolution. Yours may be higher res and you are running it in non native setting.

Ios7 lock screen blurs out my ICE contact info on my wallpaper

if there are notifications pending (such as txts or unread emails). This is a problem if I am in an accident and I have a PIN setup on my phone. No one will be able to see who to contact without access to my phone.
On ios6, when you got new emails, you would still be able to see your lock screen wallpaper and any info on it.
I think with ios7, by blurring out the wallpaper it could be dangerous or a hazard if a users wallpaper has important info but a bystander wont be able to see it.

keep hearing a lot of people noting their lockscreen blurring issue is mostly due to notificaitons. But, if so, this is the easiest to fix, because you DO NOT have to display notifcations on the lockscreen. I believe there is an option that you can toggle ON/OFF, for displaying on the lockscreen.
not sure if this will handle EVERYTHING that might blur the lockscreen; but think you can keep any notifications from displaying there.
just set all of your apps to "DO NOT INCLUDE" in notifications.
having said that, I am NOT sure how important it is for you to get notifications; but, if your health is the issue, I would think it would be more important to display your lockscreen image than to get notifications. You might be able to simply use option to remove from the lockscreen; but still get them in the notifications swipe down.

The Fonts & Colours option worked wonderfully for me and now my pages are displaying the colour and images I expected to see. So very simple in the end. Is it related to the current upgrad? At least I will not have to trouble with attempting to revert to an earlier version.

Display suddenly changed I have tried changing in utilities but nothing works. The print is enormous and out of focus the screen has shrunk in width but programs open too stretched in length? What can I do?

The display suddently changed two days ago. Everthing exploded in size. I have tried changing the contrast but nothing works. The display screen becomes either too wide, too long, or too narrow and in all cases the font is extra large and out of focus. What can I do please I am really disappointed since my iMac is only 2.5 months old.

Don't think so. But tried it anyway. I have been into utilities and tried different contrast settings now I don't know what is the right one. But no matter which one I tried I have either about a third of the screen black, with display centered as though hidden behind the black. What is going on?
Also, I have to say that I can't understand why there is no information anywhere on what the correct settings should be.

I am confused what device you are talking about. You question is here in the Using iPhone section, but it is marked for your MacBook Pro running iOS 6? If you are talking about an iPhone and you never update your profile to say you are running iOS 7, I would blame the paralax feature that slightly zooms into your picture, making certain low-res photos look extra blurry. If you are using the iPhone camera zoom then remember that this is a digital zoom not an optical zoom. The zoomed in area will have fewer pixels and not appear as clear. The more you zoom the worse it gets. It's like cropping a picture after it has been taken.

Bottom third of screen blurred out regardless of max/min after update

After upgrade, bottom 1/3 of screen is unusable/blurred out regardless of maximizing or minimizing screen. Have resinstalled Firefox, but same problem (have also repeatedly opened/closed program, rebooted). Not having any problem w/ Chrome or IE. HELP??!!

21.5 Imac screen is blurry and out of focus

I have a Imac 21.5 3.06 ghz intel core i3 which I got about a week ago and I just noticed that the monitor is going out of focus more and more. I have a second monitor hooked up and the images look fine on it and the resolution on both are almost the same I checked universal for zoom and it is off. This is becoming a real issue as I edit photos for clients on this system. What do I need to do to fix this issue.

OK, well that' really strange because that is the correct resolution (native resolution) to be running.
LCD monitors can't go out of focus if they are running at native resolution from a digital input. It's really hard to say what you are dealing with without actually seeing the display, which obviously can't be done from within a forum. You may need to take it to an Apple Store and compare it to others on the floor.

When using video camera on iPad 3 screen keeps going in and out of focus

Every time I use my video camera the image goes in and out of focus making the blurry there seems to be no settings to stop this help.

At this point, I would go for reset to its factory default condition, using the iTunes program to get a clean system install. That way you'll clean everything out and just have it set up the way it would come from the factory. You'll need to do your backup (on the iTunes program too) and be sure you understand which stuff will be saved and which will not (from the links below). Also turn off any anti-virus program you may have on your desktop. Then when you reset it to the factory default condition, don't restore your backup just yet ... until you check it out without your data put back on it. Verify its operation first, to make sure that you know it's okay. Hopefully everything is okay at that point, otherwise you'll have to take it into Apple to check it out for any hardware failure.

Final output of Final Cut Express HD 3.5 is blurry and out of focus.

Using clear/sharp '.mov' files as clips. Doing simple editing, nothing fancy. When I finally output the project using 'Export/Using QuickTime Conversion,' the final is blurry and out of focus. I've tried every compression type (H264, Animation, etc.). Same problem. Anyone know why this is happening?
Although the specs for my computer are well within the Final Cut Express guidelines (I've even upgraded my graphics card to a Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB), I'm still thinking that perhaps the G4 I'm using doesn't have enough juice to run the FCE software. By the way, I don't have any other programs active when using FCE. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here's what I'm (trying) to do:
I'm creating short 5 minute tutorial movies that will be distributed as QuickTime movies (burned to disk) for short run distribution (college).
Here's the process: the movie itself is a recording of monitor screen actions recorded (audio and video) using Snapz Pro movie mode. The recorded size is 800 x 600. There might be 5 such 1 or 2 minute clips. The quality is excellent. I bring them in to FCE, drop all the clips on the same track, and add simple transitions. That's it.
Now I need to somehow get a final QuickTime movie, with close to the same quality I had in the clips.
So... I take the FCE file, output it using 'Export>QuickTime Conversion,' using the same size I originally recorded in, 800 x 600. Tried every codec available. Every time, the end result is a very blurred version of the original Snapz Pro recordings.
I've even tried outputting the FCE file as 'Export>QuickTime Move' (not using the conversion method). Opened that up in QuickTime Pro with the same result: blurred and out of focus.
I'm viewing the exported file in QuickTime Pro, with the 'Movie Properties' setting of 'High Quality.'
Any clue? This is driving me crazy. But I'm determined to get this right.

Slideshow Playback "Out of Focus" on DVD

I exported a Keynote slideshow as a .mov and burned it on a DVD. When I played the DVD, everything was "fuzzy" as if it were out of focus or a very soft focus. I used the same process that I have used previously (as well as I remember) and those DVDs are just fine with everything as sharp as it was in the original Keynote slideshow.
I would appreciate any suggestion and help you might have regrading the cause and correction so that I am able to record a sharp DVD.

Thanks for your reply and for the link. However, the link addresses the problem for TV appearance while mine was concerned about the playback on my iMac.
When I burned other DVDs from Keynote, there was no "blurring or fuzziness" with photos or text on playback with my iMac or TV!
Also, the playback was automatic when the disk was inserted. When the latest one was inserted, the disk icon etc had to be clicked for it to run after which full screen had to be selected as well.
I do not want to make a DVD from iDVD - just one that will run the slideshow.
Any other suggestions on burning would be appreciated.

Image files with large pixel dimensions display out of focus in a Bridge viewer?

I Create image files with pixel dimensions 2048x1365. When I display these files from Bridge on my Mac, either by pressing the space bar or in a slideshow, the images are out of focus. If I left click or click/hold and move the images slightly on screen they display in sharp focus. Unfortunately, although landscape-orientation images display correctly with no change in position or size, portrait-orientation files are enlarged and display with top and bottom off the screen. The pixel dimensions of my monitor are 2450x1600 so, yes, if portrait images are displayed at 100% they should display off screen, but this does not excuse the out of focus display of landscape files on this large screen. Nor does this explain why the portrait files are out of focus when they fit on screen. When the same files open in a Camera Raw window they are in focus. When they open in Photoshop at 100% the files are in focus.

Can I force Quicktime to remain in fullscreen when it's out of focus

I've got a bit of a question. I recently got hold of a new LCD and hooked it up as my secondary display, and among other things, I like to keep work on one screen and video on the other. Trouble is, any time Quicktime loses focus, it drops back to windowed mode. Is there any way to lock it in fullscreen mode when it's out of focus and I'm typing and/or clicking around on the other display? Alternatively, can it be done with VLC? And one last thing just in case someone knows, can you lock a Hulu player in fullscreen?
