Blurred web page prints wireless printing

All of a sudden my Deskjet F4580 is printing blurry web pages. Documents from my laptop print clearly, but not web pages or e-mails. Any suggestions? I have already unplugged and restarted my printer. And restarted my laptop as well. I did the cleaning options on my printer.

I found that Firefox/XPS had deleted all printer driver setups except for the XPS connection. I had to reinstall my printer connection in order to have that selection present in the printer dialogue box.

  • Particular web page won't print

Running Safari with latest Mavericks  update, one particular web page won't print on my ethernet connected HP laser printer (Laserjet P2015). The page is at bialetti.com ( Italian coffeemmaker machine co.). When I try to print the page, the printer job page says it's connected and ready to print but instead it sends the printer into a series of error lights starting with both paper jam and low ink then going to noi paper. After a minute or so it reboots itself and returns to a single green light indicating it's ready to print. The job screen then says "broken pipe". What confounds me is that any other web page will print with no problem. What could cause this?

I have tried the pdf route but with the same result. I can print a German eBay posting from Safari but not this Italian site. Another iMac with Mavericks on the same network has the same problem. Connecting to the printer over Wi-Fi or ethernet also refuses to print the page. I may contaqct Hp as the sequence of trouble lights that occur may give them a clue.

  • When I try and print a web page in the print screen ALL the Print Frame options are greyed out. It won't let me print a page as I see it. I need to pring a page as is. How do I do it in the new 8.0??

I go to print and try to select the radio button to print all frames, but It's not working

The '''Print Frames''' options are greyed out unless the web page is made with Frames. I-Frames don't work the same.
Check out this '''''frames test page''''' - http://www.draac.com/framestest.html <br />Is the '''Print Frames''' part of the print dialog box active?
As far as printing a page as you see it, many web pages use '''print.css''' files for print-media. The print.css specifies exactly what is to be sent to the printer and it can control the formatting of the printed page.

  • When I try to print from web page I get "printer not activated - error code 30", but I can copy text into Word document & printer works.

I am unable to print anything from an internet web page. I continually get "printer not activated, error code- 30" followed by "An unknown error occurred while printing". I can copy the material from the web page, place into a Word document and then print. This just started yesterday and I have no idea why. Would appreciate your advice!

  • When I try to print from web page I get "printer not activated - error code 30", printer works on Internet Explorer

When I try to print from web page I get a dialogue box "Printer not activated - error code 30" followed by a dialogue box "An unknown error occurred while printing". The printer works on websites when I use Internet Explorer. Also, if I copy the web page and paste it into a Word document, I can print a copy. This issue just started this week; I have not encountered this problem prior to this week. Please advise.

What does that error message say?

  • Since upgrading to ver 8 headers and footers on printing web pages do not print; typing response is terrible, type 20-30 char before seeing them; my PC or Firefox 8?

If I do an end task on plugin_container using Windows task manager, the typing response problem seems to go away temporarily. However, the plugin_container process soon restarts itself and the typing issue returns. It has happened four or five times while typing this note. Sometimes I start typing and the display of characters typed does not appear or while typing an displaying what is typed normally all of a sudden stops being displayed and eventually is displayed all in a blast of characters.
When I try to print a web page, the header and footer info that I have selected show in the print preview but disappears when I print the page and does not print on the hard copy.
I believe that both of the above situations began when I upgraded to Firefox version 8.
I tried to search for problems like the above with Firefox but could find nothing.
I tried all of the above in IE and IE works as it has in the past.
Is this a Firefox issue with version 8 or is there something wrong with my PC all of a sudden?

    Response to cor-el suggestions:
I tried what you suggested as far as checking the theme (it's "Default 8.0") and deleting the sessionstore files (there was one .js file, one -1.js file and one .bak file). I still have the same slow response problems (especially typing, it has gone dead on me for a short time twice while typing this replay so far, now a third time) and lost of headers and trailers and some data.
I did the suggested actions three times just to make sure that I was doing them correctly. On the first try, the sessionstore.js and sessionstore-1.js was more than twice the size of sessionstore.bak. Since doing what was suggested, the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak are, I believe, the same size. I did not write down their size is why I am not certain.
The printing problem appears to only be with one website which is an investment website which I would prefer not to document here. I print from this website each weekday and I have confirmed that the printing problem started when the upgrade to version 8.0 occurred.
I need a solution to this or I am going to either go back to IE (Ugh!) or find another browser. The typing delays are an extreme annoyance since I do lots on the Internet including a lot of emailing. The delays also involve the buttons to select functions within a website.
Is there a way to get back to the version previous to version 8.0?

  • Firefox does not print in full web pages. It prints at best the left half of the page. This has only happened recently. It is not my printer as I get full page printing from from Internet explorer and other applications. Help!

Firefox has started printibg only the left side of a web page . I have tried adjusting the settings without any success in fact it made the print area even smaller. I have adjusted all the settings on the print menu but cannot overcome this. How can I return to printing full web pages?

Try the '''''reset''''' described here: <br />

  • Web page truncated in print preview

Print preview on this web page is truncated in the middle of the comments.
Internet Explorer 11.0 is worse, omitting the comments entirely.
Chrome 37.0 print preview is quite good with a few minor errors. And the print function includes PDF file output, exactly what I was looking for.
I am a long time Firefox fan so it is painful to have resorted to installing Chrome.... :-( :-)
Are there some config change(s) I could make so the print preview would be complete?
(Maybe it's the content that's causing the problems? :-D)
    http://www.gayguys.com/2014/08/young-gay-guys-becoming-attraction-older-men/

This is a tough one. The Facebook content is in an iframe (inline frame) and due to the style rules in the frame, or something about the way the frame is positioned in the page, Firefox is not correctly paginating the full iframe content.
There are lots of cases like this where Firefox stumbles in its print layout. Often a little hack solves it, but in this case, I don't see a quick fix.
You can print the comments in full as follows:
right-click the Facebook content > This Frame > Print Frame
In the print dialog, you can start on page 2 (e.g., 2 to 99) to reduce the duplication. (Due to text size difference when printing the FB content outside of the frame, there was still some overlap in my test.)

  • When I print a web page it only prints the first page and not the rest of the web page below the page break.

When I print a web page firefox will only print the first page, all of the content to the first page break and nothing past that.
How can I change the settings so that it will print more than on page?

-> Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
    -> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Zoom -> click "Reset" -> Page Style -> select "Basic Page Style"
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
-> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache, Site Preferences''' -> click "Clear Now"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar (its position is on the Right side of the Address Bar) -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click Remove -> click OK
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

  • Web-Pages can NOT print, although others-printing, i.e., e-mails, words are ALL OK

HP PC with Windows 7 that I just purchased recently.
Two Printers:  Officejet F4480 and Photosmart C6380 All-in-one series do NOT print any of web-pages, although I can print any others sites, i.e., e-mails, word and all other sites.
I installed HP Smart Web-printing, however I love to print in normal printing method, ... File > Print.
Any help into this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

Thnakyou for your reply - there's definitley no way the uni will change their standard format, and it's really not their fault anyway. I wanted to re-load Adobe 7 but can't find it anywhere on the Adobe website, and do not want to risk loading it from elsewhere!

HP, are you out there?   Help us!!!!    I love my 1020, and don't want to give it up!
Forum members....Have you tried going back to an earlier version?  If so, which do you recommend and how is it done?

  • Firefox 3.6.13 upgrade prints only a small section of a web page on each printed page

Firefox prints as though the left, right, and bottom margins are very large, so that printing occurs in a small rectangle (1" wide x 3" high) centered toward the top of the page. The print preview shows the same small rectangle of text except that it is located at the left of the screen instead of centered. The result is that many paper pages are printed for each web page (e.g., 15 pages to print http://meyerweb.com/eric/articles/webrev/200001/example3.html whereas IE8 prints this in 2 pages). This occurs for all web pages that I have tried to print and is not isolated to a particular web site.
In the print setup, all margins are set to 0.5". I have tried resetting these but it didn't help.

When I do Ctrl+P from within Firefox and then select Properties for the HL-1440 printer driver, the paper size is A4 which gives the printing problem. Changing the paper size to Letter from within Firefox still gives the same problem.
Correction from previous post: Before printing with the LaserJet 4 printer driver (while the HL-1440 driver is still the default), the print-preview shows the small rectangle of text (see the image of my previous post). However, once I print using the LaserJet 4 driver (which prints correctly) then any subsequent print-preview while using the LaserJet 4 driver correctly displays the page (full width and height). Hence, there seems to be some conflict between this version of Firefox and the factory HL-1440 driver.
Note: All printing is done to the same physical printer (Brother HL-1440). In all cases the printer properties are set to Portrait and Shrink-to-fit.
