Blurry comp from After Effects to Premiere

Hello,
I did a simple logo as a 3D object to spin and have some text flash by. I encoded it and imported it to Prem Pro. The problem is the logo and text look blurry when I hit play. Is there a rule of thumb for export settings etc etc. Thanks for the help.

Suggestions -
1. Use Dynamic lik instead of exporting from after effects and then impoting in premiere pro if you have production premium or master collection.
2. If you are exporting for the purpose of importing in another application (premiere pro or Encore) you should chose to export in uncompressed format like uncompressed avi. So that you dont loose quality twicw that is once while export from after effect and then while export from premiere pro.

  • Exporting comp from After Effects CC to Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2014) gives error message: "AE can not connect to dynamic link"

I am trying to export an AE CC comp into a Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2014) video project. I can not drage it from AE to Premier Pro.  Is there a problem with the dynamic link between these two applications?

Dynamic Link only works between After Effects and Premiere Pro if the applications are of the same version---i.e., both CC 2014 versions.

    Hey everyone,
Ever since I have updated from my CC to the CC 2014 last night, My extruded 3D ray traced texts become CLASSIC 3D texts when brought to Premiere from After Effects. Has anyone else experienced this problem yet or have any possible solutions? I appreciate it, Thanks!

  • Importing project from after effects to premiere, plug in effect not available?

Hello all, Im using cs5. When I import a video project to premiere from after effects, i get an error message saying that an effect plugin from after effects is not available in premiere. Specifically the glow effect. I thought that since after effects had the effect that premiere would too. I'm asking for the college i go to as we are not too familiar with this program and we have a sub for the next few weeks, thanks in advanced !

oh sorry, i didnt notice that the post i posted didnt have really any info, the page froze and the page saved my info, i guess i submitted the wrong post. anyways, this whats going on.
I make an after effects cs5 composition which is a .MOV video i took, roughly 1 minute with the glow effect applied to the video. I then import the composition to premiere, premiere then gives me the error that premiere does not have the glow effect and therefore, won't be applied. below is my specs and here is a link to another post of mine that might possibly have something to do with this. after effects cs5 keylight (1.2) crash with dynamic link error?

  • From After Effects to Premiere Pro

    Hey anyone!
I'm having trouble transferring an After Effects composition to Premiere Pro.
The compostion is just 2 animation presets (filters) applied to 2 adjustment layers on top of a Premiere Pro sequence that I imported (right-click AE project pane, select "import").
    I've tried the following:
    - right clicking the project media pane in PP, and importing the AE comp.  When I did this, I could view the comp in my source monitor, but I could NOT move the comp onto my sequence timeline.  Tried dragging, setting in/out points, it just gave me the ghostbusters "no" symbol when I tried to drag it into timeline.
    - copy/paste the layers from AE into PP timeline.  Adjustment layers became 2 video tracks that were nothing but a slightly transparent white solid over video that was disconnected (red screen with "media disconnected" written all over it).
    - exporting the AE comp as a new PP project (File-->Export...).  The new project had nothing in it but a blank timeline.  Tried copying/pasting comp into that.  Nothing happened.
    - exporting the AE comp as an uncompressed AVI.  AE just keeps freezing/crashing in the middle of the export even if I split the comp up in 2 to make it easier.
What am I doing wrong?  Am I doing anything right?  What is the BEST method for transferring an AE comp into a PP timeline?
    System specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.7 GHz processor
    6 GB RAM
    Windows 7 64-bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1GB graphics card

...problem is, this error occurs when I have ONLY After Effects open.  No other applications.  I even shut down AE before using PP.
I could see how if there was slow import speed or freezing/crashing that this would be a processing or memory issue.  I even have a processor/RAM monitor widget that doesn't show a lot going on during the composition importing/copy&pasting.
But in the process, I either get:
    - a new premiere project (via dynamic link) that's blank
    - a composition that will import but not open in a timeline
    - copied layers from AE that are basically blank ("media disconnected" even though the media works in AE)
I'm going to take a look at a few things once I get back to my PC.  Maybe I don't have some settings right.
    Thanks for your help, Dave.
    Anyone else have any ideas?

  • Keyframe info from After Effects to Premiere Pro?

I suspect I wount have any luck with this but is there a way to copy 'position' keyframes from a layer in After Effects and apply them to footage in Premiere?
I want to add some handheld movement but I dont want to lose image quality by exporting footage out of Prem, into AFX and back out again.
The source footage is Red RAW and I dont have the importer to get it into AFX either which is why I was hoping for a work around.
    Thanks

    Here's a possible workaround:
After doing your animation in AE, go to File > Export > Adobe Premiere Pro Project. Save the project file wherever you want.
Go back to Pr, and either import that project into your current project, or open it. Your AE comp should be a Pr sequence now, and the keyframes should be intact.
This works on my setup, but I do have the Production Premium bundle so I don't know if this all works without it. Give it a shot!

  • Adobe dynamic link-From after effects to Premiere

I have few sequences save in different After effects versions because my project was to big to work with one final after effect version.
I would like to use Adobe dynamic link to send all the seuqences into Adobe premiere to make a "one sequence" that I could export.
But when I am using Adobe dynamique link, I need to close and open the differents versions saved in after effects.
When I do it, the sequences appear offline in Premiere.
What can I do to see all the sequences online?Do I have to work with affter effects online all the time?
    Thanks a lot,
    Alice

First and foremost, running After Effects is not necessary so as to be able to work with dynamically linked compositions in Premiere Pro. PrPro invokes headless version of AE in the background so as to communicate with dynamically linked comps.
Second, while working with dynamically linked compositions avoid incremental numbers at the end of your AE projects names. Better yet, avoid incremental numbers at the end of your dynamically linked comps names as well in both AE and PrPro by giving them meaning names instead of default ones. If you really need to include incremental numbers in those names, insert them somewhere in the middle. The bug related to incremental numbers at the end of the names was biting strongly in CS5.5 (don't remember if CS5 was affected as well) and was claimed as fixed in CS6.

  • Exporting titles from after effects to premiere

Hello. I am a relatively inexperienced user with the creative suite 5.5 programs. (I am working on a Windows 7 machine.) I created a title in After Effects that was just text with a transparent background. However, when I exported it as a movie (AVI) and imported it into Premiere, the text is now on an opaque black background. This surprised me because I have the checkerboard transparency view in After Effects, and all I have there is the text. How can I create text only on an otherwise transparent layer to bring into Premiere? Is there a preferred export setting for this? The posted info says I cannot just copy and paste text layers from one program to the other. (I know how to use the titler in Premiere - this would be for instances where I am doing more complicated text animations that rely on After Effects.)  Thank you in advance for your help. I know this is basic, but I cannot find anything that addresses this specifically.

    Todd -
The link helped me conceptualize alpha channel and transparency (which I have struggled with in the past). However, ultimately I needed to know what setting to adjust, what button to click, which can be hard when you have to wade through all the various support materials. I am teaching (if you can believe it) video and film classes at a local high school. We had been using CS 3 the last couple of years, and I was just starting to get the hang of those, when we moved to CS5, so I am still somewhat disoriented and have taken a step backwards. Much of it is the same, but it can still be pretty daunting when even something as basic as this takes this much research, community help, etc.  (The move back to Audition from Soundbooth is especially confounding, because we were operating more on the amateur than the high pro level.)  Anyway, between classroom in a book, adobe tv, creative cow, lynda.com, and the manual, I can usually figure my fairly basic problems out, but this was really frustrating, in part because it just seemed to basic. So again, thanks so much for you time and helping me get going again.
    Sincerely,
    Steve

  • Streaching occuring when rendering from After Effects to Premiere

    Hello,
I am working on a short film that includes a short section with special effects. I exported the scenes into After Effects CS5 and set the sequence to 1280 by 720. (same as the Premiere sequence) After I finished working on the effects in After Effects I rendered it to bring it back into Premiere. But, when I brought it back into Premiere the video was streatched out. Any assistance would be great.
    Thanks

Instead of rendering out of Ae, why not simply Dynamically Link
your composition into your Premiere project?
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition
Create and link to After Effects compositions with Dynamic Link

  • Problem with sending clips from after effects to premiere.  Color looks different.  Any advice?  Can't link.  4k raw in premiere and 40 layers per clip in ae.   Can't handle it.

There's  a definite color difference from Premiere to ae.  I'm using cineform files as alphas from ae to put back over the clips in Premiere as a layer.  The problem is the color doesn't match like it did in ae and the mask and all that seem funky.  Anyone experience this or have ideas?

  • Exporting layers of audio from After Effects  cs6 to Premiere / or Audition? Is this possible?

exporting layers of audio from After Effects  cs6 to Premiere / or Audition? Is this possible?
Help - I have an After effects project with multiple layered files and want to copy these to Premiere / Audition. For example I know if you select multiple video files from After Effects these can be pasted straight into Premiere intact - but this does not work with audio. I want to take existing layered audio files from After Effects to Audition / or Premiere but can't copy and paste - is there a simple solution for this?

Hi thanks Dave for responding - yes that could work as a 'workaround' -  I was hoping there would be a way I can keep the existing independent audio layers and corresponding audio levels from After Effects- in the same way I can copy and paste video files from After Effects to Premiere - rather than exporting a flattened AIFF /WAV from After Effects.
This would then allow me a lot more control working on the final edit - especially as currently a lot of the audio layers overlap. It does seem there is no simple solution for this, so  otherwise I can do what you suggest - and 'stagger all the audio files' in sequence so they do not overlap on the timeline and then when I import the flattened exported AIFF file into Audition/ Premeire / I then can cut it up again and recreate the overlaps. Was hoping there might be a simple copy + paste method or other 'export method' but I guess this is simply not possible. It would save me about 7 hours of work, but not the end of the world I guess
One final point - some of the audio clips are .mp3s but the majority are WAVS, hopefully this should not create any issues on the export.
thanks again for your help, if you or anyone has any other solution pls let me know
    Best

  • Render files from After Effects inserts do not reload when starting Premiere Pro (CS6)

    Hi there,
When I have an insert from After Effects in Premiere Pro, and when I render these parts in the sequence, everything is fine untill I restart Premiere Pro: the render files do not load. Checking the cache directory however, they do exist! Anybody knows how to solve this issue?
    Thanks for yor response, Pieter

I failed to mention that I tried this on another computer as well with a completly different lesson. This time I brought the whole footage in to afteraffects and did the keying and then went back to CS6 and tried to render it, and it locked up my second computer the same way.

  • Importing Sequences from After Effects CC 2014 into Premiere

Before the update to cc 2014, I was easily able to import After Effects comps into Premiere using "Import" in Premiere. I would select an AE project to import, and it would ask me which sequences inside that project I wanted to import. Worked perfectly. This was just a couple weeks ago.
NOW, I go to import sequences from an AE project and it only shows ONE sequence out of however many I may have. This has happened twice so far. Quitting & reopening both programs didn't do anything. Has something changed with the update?

Dynamic Link only works between After Effects and Premiere Pro if the applications are of the same version---i.e., both CC 2014 versions.

  • Dynamic Link from After Effects CC to Premiere Pro CC Performance Issues

I just updated my After Effects and Premiere Pro to CC and since doing so I've found numerous performance issues.  One that is seriously hurting my workflow is the poor performance of the dynamic link with After Effects compositions into Premiere Pro.   In CS6, you could make a change to the AE composition, save it, click over to Premiere Pro and it would quickly update and you can play your timeline and preview your changes.  You could also move the clips around and add cross dissolves and watch the changes quickly in Premiere Pro CS6.  Now, since updating to CC, if you save the composition in AE and click over to Premiere Pro it won't update on its own.  Sometimes it just shows a single frame of the AE composition.  I found that if you right click and "Edit Original", go into AE and then click back over to Premiere Pro and it will finally update.   But if you make any changes to the placement of the AE composition on the timeline, or add a cross dissolve, fade, etc. it again won't play the AE composition any longer.  After you make any changes to the AE composition you have to right click and go to "Edit Original", go into AE, and then click back over to Premiere Pro.. Then it will finally update.

    Thanks Kevin.
Unfortunately in my case the export doesn't solve the issue. The video only looks good while in the composition... I've tried exporting it in all the different formats with several codecs, but to no avail...
You can check my own post in the After Effects forum: AE linked composition looks different in Premiere

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 not recognising opacity/alpha values from After Effects

Hello, I'm importing AE compositions directly into Media Encoder to output as 'Match Source - Medium Bitrate H.264' files. However Media Encoder is not recognising the opacity values of the layers in AE and the background images are coming out as opaque rather than partially transparent.
How can I resolve this? If I render the movie from AE as a .mov then use Media Encoder it works fine, but that takes a lot more time.

Can you post screenshots of your comp in After Effects and the result you are getting from AME?
One issue you may be hitting is that AME is not aware of the composition background color. This is a limitation of Dynamic Link; because a primary use case of Dynamic Link is placing an After Effects composition, such as lower-thirds titles, into a Premiere Pro sequence, Dynamic Link ignores the background color of the composition and treats any the background pixels as alpha. In AME, since there is no compositing happening, black is used to fill in the alpha area.
To work around this limitation, place a solid at the bottom of your composition layer stack that is the color of your background.
