Blurry graphics HELP!!

I am trying to lay a graphic over some video on my timeline. When i first put it in my timeline, it looks normal. After i render, it gets all blurry??? I searched the posts on here and tried some suggestions like putting it into an uncompressed 8 bit timeline. I still get the same thing??? I even tried turning to mpeg in compressor without rendering, but i get the same thing in the final dvd. a blurry image?? The final project will be on DVD. Please help!!! Thank you.

thanks guys for your quick responses. i can't afford a true NTSC monitor so i rely on my tv. at the time of my first post, my setup wasnt fully hooked up, but i just got it onto my tv and it is not as blurry as it is on my monitor, but can definitely be sharper! To Steve the original graphic was emailed to me as a pdf at 72 dpi. it may seem that since it is a compressed format that that could be my problem but the graphic looks sharp in photoshop and in FCP when it is not rendered or playing. I took the pdf and saved it as a psd in photoshop to import into FCP. is their somethin i could do better?? D Gilmore what should i export it out of as a lossless QT + alpha?? photoshop, FCP or QT itself. thanks again!!

    What do you try? Please be specific, include details of the products AND VERSION used, and the options used at each stage. If you're scanning to JPEG, don't.

  • Converting Framemaker 10 book to PDF produces blurry graphics

    I've tried troubleshooting this all day and am not coming up with any resolutions. I have a 100 pg book with many screenshots and diagrams. I have imported by reference and typically have to resize on import to fit the anchored frame. I try not to drag to resize. The graphics in the resulting PDF look blurry.  Does anyone have any tips on how to sharpen these up? Should I use the PDF Printer with special settings as opposed to the HP printer for producing the PDF. Are there special settings I should be looking at in FrameMaker, Acrobat, printer setup, etc. so they will play well together?  There are so many settings and I don't have the expertise (or support) to make modifications.
    If anyone has any suggestions that might help, I love to hear from you.  Thanks!

  • Blurry Graphics

    Hello everyone,
    I am having a major problem with some power point graphics that I am importing into FCP. I have converted the graphics into every format that power point with let me and when I import them into FCP the look like squeeze. What I mean by they look like squeeze is that they are really blurry. The client has commented on this already and I need a solution fast. Can anyone help?

    Brent, I'm fairly new to FCP and I'm not a computer expert by far, but I have been making some teaching videos in 16:9 format and importing individual Powerpoint slides and the quality has been very acceptable. Here's how I've done it:
    Preferences - Advanced Resolution Settings: 600 dpi; Image Quality: Best
    File - Page Setup - Size 16 x 9 inches; Orientation: landscape
    File - Make Movie - Movie options - Size & quality - Optimization: Quality; Movie dimensions: 1750 x 980
    (I have no idea why 1750x980 is the correct size for what I'm doing, but I arrived at that by trial and error. It's the only size that fills the screen; selecting "current screen size" leaves space on the sides.)
    Making the individual slide a movie gives it a 2 second duration and I just stack them in the timeline to fit my needs. Like I said, I'm not sure if this will help you or if it's the best approach, but it has worked for me.

  • K550 won't print graphics - Help!

    Working great till one day suddenly stopped printing graphics.  Prints text copy fine.  Photos, clip art, etc missing from print.  Ran Diagnostics - okay; ran Configuration page - okay.   Laptop prints fine when connected to another printer,  which eliminated a 'computer' issue; definately a printer setting problem.   Help!!  I'm out of warranty :-(

    As near as I can tell, the printer is not the problem. I have tried three different printers, all with the most up-to-date drivers, and even tried Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, which should bypass all of the above. The graphic elements that worked perfectly in my previous system simply disappear in Snow Leopard. My workaround is to send them to an "older" Mac NOT running Snow Leopard, then convert them to PDF files, then print from Snow Leopard, and all is well. Absolutely frosted! I have publishing deadlines to meet!

  • Blurry Monitor Help?

    My monitor goes blurry when I open the lid. It happens on ocassion and adjusts as I move my screen up and down. My lid also seem loose, could that be it? Any help?

    I also experience a problem with the VX2433WM. When I attach it to my MBP via HDMI (of course via a mini-dsiplay-port-to-HDMI adapter) it does recognize the screen, but for every resolution I select the picture is cute at the edges.
    Since the screen is Full HD capable (1080 p 1920x1080) there should not be an issue at alle with any resolution.
    any ideas why this could be?

  • Can't change background to graphics - help please?

    Have trawled the help topics but I've been unsuccessful. I'm importing a tif or a jpeg and am getting it onto the browser but then I want to alter the background so the graphic blends in better.
    Any suggestions on the best way please?
    Thanks

    Hi Tom. Say I have a jpeg of a flag on a white background. You see it against the black FCE generates each time. To get the flag to "float" in white I need to change the background in the browser to white.

  • Graphics help - screenfull of scrolling characters

    I need a graphic for my timeline that shows the screen filling up with characters. It doesn't have to be crazy raining characters like in "The Matrix". Just a bunch of code or other english letters filling the screen.
    Any help?
    Thanks!

    Not at my machine right now-- does the typewriter text effect still exist? I remember using it once back in v3. Less is more here. Try text on different layers at different sizes, moving, growing shrinking. You can also apply timecode generator filters with different start times, staggered around. It'll take some playing with to get what you're after. Also dive into livetype and see what you can find there.
    Have fun.

  • My photoshop thumbnail is pixelated and blurry! HELP

    im having to make a thumbnail in photoshop CS6 that is 125x100 & 72 DPI. When i put the image together the words are blurry and pixelated. im not sure why this is happening or how to fix it..
    this is the thumbnail at 125x100 and 72 DPI which is the directions given and its so pixelated!

    I see nothing "blurry" or "pixelated" there.  What I see is slightly jagged text, which is not surprising at such a small size at such a low resolution (72 ppi).  That is normal and expected behavior.
    Try different fonts and check your text options to make surer the text is antialiased to the degree that it can under the circumstances.
    It would help to know if this is going to be printed or if it's just for the screen (web).  Please clarify.

  • NullPointerExeception on Graphics help

    hi i'm trying to add an image create by a class (Creator) to a specific location in the current JPanel :
    i try to do :
    public class ImageCreator extends JPanel {
    BufferedImage myImage ;
        public void paint(Graphics g) {
        myImage = (BufferedImage)createImage(imageSize);
        //init myImage
        public BufferedImage getMyImage(){
         return myImage;
    }and in my main class
    public MyMainClass extend JPanel{
        public void paint(Graphics g){
      public void add(ImageCreator myImage){
         BufferedImage image = myImage.getMyImage();
         Graphics g = this.getGraphics();
         Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
         g2.drawImage(image,xPos,yPos,this);
    }i have checked that both g and image are null and I don't understand why.
    can anybody help me?
    NB : i'm not sure this is the best way to do if you have a better idea say it thx

    well, i must admitt i'm quite a noob in swing!
    can you tell me where i can find a good tutorial (particularly for paint() repaint() update()... methods and how to create a graphics context )
    I've tried to create the graphics context but i'm not sure of how it's works and i don't find the good tutorial.
    I've tried :
    public class MyMainClass extends JPanel {
          private Graphics2D myGraphicsContext;
          //image where i want to display graphics
          private BufferedImage myImage;
          public MyMainClass (args){
                //..inits
                myImage = (java.awt.image.BufferedImage)createImage(xSize,ySize);
                myGraphicsContext = myImage.createGraphics();
       public void paint(Graphics g) {
                Graphics g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
                g2.drawImage(myImage,0,0,this);
    }and (obiously?) when running i've myImage is null

  • Blurry Screen HELP!!

    Hey All,
    I am new to the Mac world, and today is my first day using my new Macbook Pro -- but I am having a few problems. When I move my cursor over certain images it gets blurry, specfically the text, and I have to move it side to side over the same text to unblur things.
    Has any one else had these problems?? I need some help, thanks.
    -Eddy

    Ok, I've just been going through some other threads here in the forum, and your solution to the problem is very likely at the end of this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1017281&tstart=15
    In short, there may be some third party software that (presumably accidentally) turns on your display zoom function (it's normally turned off), resulting in this odd effect. You may also accidentally have hit the command-alt-8, the zoom-option short cut. (The poster in the aforementioned thread suspects Parallels: you don't happen to run that on your new MPB? I do, so perhaps it indeed is a bug in Parallels. Or even Windows. Would be hard to find out for sure though.)
    Since you're new to the Mac world, here's how to turn it off: go to system preferences, find 'universal access' and turn off the Zoom option. Clear bright letters again!
    Hope that works.

  • IMovie blurry-PLEASE help

    I have an end of school year slide show/with music due in a few days. I laid down the audio tracks in iMovie HD 6.03 and dragged the pictures from iPhoto 6.06 into it. The images look fine in iPhoto but in iMovie they have blurry (slightly jagged) edges and when I convert the project to iDVD and burn the DVD, the DVD is blurry on both the computer and the TV. Is the problem that I'm using iMovie HD for the first time? thanks for any ideas or help. Mike

    It was blurry on both--more so on the tv but you've explained why. It's the handoff to iDVD from iMovie that is the problem. Even previewing the new iDVD on the computer shows the degraded picture so I've quit burning disks. I can simulate what happens to the images by going to iMovie preferences under the Import icon and selecting high or standard instead of highest. That causes the images to degrade just like iDVD does! Tonight I've taken all the photos and created a slide show in Aperture with an iTunes playlist. Since i don't think I can use clips of songs in an Aperture slide show like I could in iMovie, I'll just add slides until they match the length of the 4 songs. And, finally, I'll be dragging my home desktop to school to project it on a screen in the auditorium. thanks again for all your help and support, Brie. Mike
