Blurry icons and text and top bar

Hello,
I always keep my Mac Mini on (almost 3 months now), yesterday I used it and it was great, ofcourse I left it on overnight (as always) and when I tried to use it today desktop - icons - text - top bar even mouse courser became blurred almost double vision.
however bottom bar (the bar has icons) are all fine, when I shut down the Mac Mini I noticed all things goes back to normal while it is turning off, and same when it starts every thing goes fine for few seconds then it happens ,as if there is an application (virus maybe) making the display blurred.
any help will be really appreciated.

Mac Mini desktop folders/icons and top menu blinking on and off

Hello. I've just returned to my Mac Mini after being away for a few days. Upon booting and having the desktop fully load, I have been experiencing all folders/icons and top menu bar blinking on and off every ten seconds. I have only opened Fire Fox to try and diagnose why this is happening. No solution yet.
I am running Snowleopard with Mavericks and I'm aware Mavericks is a little buggy at the moment (beach ball used to blink on and off every now and again and performance has gotten slow) I only have the HDD replaced last week as the last one failed. I really need to fix this problem soon as I rely on my Mac to work from home.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have sovled the problem! for now at least. I came across another users suggestion to dissable "sync status icons" in google drive as it confics with the finder in Mavericks. I guess this would only work with others having this problem with Google Drive and Mavericks.

Same issues here.
iPhone 5 was fine until I restarted the device... now the screen flickers on and off (with the white Apple logo
and frozen progress bar overlayed on the screen).
When I try to restore, I get a "-1" error.
Well I just looked over at the screen, and everything is now fine. No flickering, no logo... the screen looks normal.

Installed Firefox on Windows 7 but the menu and icons bar is full of little horizontal lines over the icons and menu bar..

I installed Firefox 21 on a new Windows 7 OS. The menu bar and the icon bar at the top of the windows is full of little horizontal lines. Sometimes there are more lines and sometime less lines. It makes the icons and the menu items almost impossible to see. So far it's only the Firefox screen that does this. The other programs I installed so far doesn't do this.
Any ideas?

Since trying to load latest update on Ipad it only boots to Apple Icon and progress bar seems stuck??

since latest update it tried to run and recieved error. Rebooted and it gets stuck on Apple icon and appears as though the progress bar trying to load but it just hangs there. Can't do anything????

I went to the Apple store, the salesman held the power button andthe main button down for five seconds or so, and it came back to life. The ironic thing is that I already tried that before going....Anyway, the iPod went into recovery mode, where I had to basically plug it back into iTunes, confirm the new update was downloaded properly, and then I had to wipe it clean in recovery ( or whatever you call it). I put all my music back on it and now it works fine......good luck

Did you try Safe Mode and possibly disable hardware acceleration in Firefox?

Why do i get a camera icon and volume bar on my lock screen now that i have updated to ios 5

Why do i get a camera icon (bottom right)and volume/buffer bar (top centre) of lock screen....only happening since ios5 update..

It's a feature of iOS5. If you double tab the home button, you can use the camera or play music without having to enter your lock code. If you single tap the home button, you should just see the lock screen. It's nice if you want to take a picture quickly.

Mission control slow and top bar vanishes

A month ago it started that my mission control suddenly began to "lag". Moving a window would take a few seconds longer than the courser needed und if make a few quick circles with it I can see it swirling around for almost a whole minute. Also my windows won't slowly transist to theire place in mission control and back again. One second they are in full view and the next they are in mission control mode. Fact is: that lag is not normal and it's very diffcult to work with.
This phenomenon happens all the time (rebooting won't solve the problem) except once or twice a week where both animations work perfectly. Only manco: My top Mission control bar is gone. I can still go from space to space with my trackpad gestures but I won't see where I am going.
Further information: I have a fairly new MacBook Pro (2.3 GHz Intel i7, 8 GB RAM) and an OS X Lion update. An update which worked well till a few weeks back.

I agree with everything you said about full screen apps, mission control and launchpad. For apps that made sense to run full screen, they already could under SL. Launchpad is totally unnecessary and Mission Control is a mere shadow of Expose and Spaces.
However, I feel you have not given due credit to Spaces. The point of Spaces is to let one organise logical desktops for different tasks, not just a way to reduce the number of windows on display. For example, I have a Space for software development where I run Xcode and the iPhone simulator, a Firefox window showing perhaps documentation or some other websites pertaining to software development, a Finder window that is opened in the folder with my design docs. I have another Space where I have the remote login sessions, yet another Space with another Firefox window where I do general surfing and emailing. I can switch between these spaces using a keyboard shortcut, which is much quicker than having to lift my hand off the keyboard, move it over to the mouse, move the mouse pointer over the Dock, find the app and click on it, only to find that it has switched to the wrong window of the app.
Without Spaces, organisation of my desktop is disrupted each time I want to switch task, whereas Spaces allows me to drop everything I am doing, go and do something completely different for a while and go back to my exact previous environment. I have a 27" iMac so am not short of screen space but I use Spaces extensively. BTW, switching Spaces using a keyboard shortcut is a lot faster on SL than the equivalent on Lion, thanks to the gratuitous screen animation of the latter.

Kids playing with computer, now the icons and menu bar fonts are huge, how do I change it back? I tried in the view, but it didnt work.

Have you tried Command - (that's the key to the right of 0)?
If that isn't it try Control - Command - down arrow key. You can turn the zoom feature on and off in System Preferences - Universal Access - Seeing.

I updated i synched now i have an apple icon and a bar frozen on my ipod - it wont turn on or off and the computer doesnt recognise it

i did all that was required to update itunes and ipod, and sync, then got a message that i needed to restore the ipod, so i did, but then it said it couldnt, the thing is 4 mths old for crying out loud im furious! it wont turn on or off, can some one please explain to me how this is "broken"? I restarted the computer but nothing else at this point. very dissapointed.

There isn't a way to change those sizes. You must reduce your display resolution.
In Display System preferences, Display tab, select Scaled.
Then, pick a resolution that is sufficiently large.

Minimise,maximise close icons and task .bar are missing.pls help.

Mac OS X 10.5.5 finder and top bar doesn't work

Hi Guys,
I'm having a problem with following applications after upgrading to 10.5.5 : Finder, iPhoto, iMovie, Mail.app etc.. Suddenly all of them stopped working...
I did a home work. Searched forums, mailing lists etc..
I can't find Finder in my Applications folder.
Any help welcome.

What do you mean "stopped working"? Do they not open? Crash after opening? What, specifically, happens when you try to use them?
FWIW, Finder is located at /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder , but you should not mess with it, since that can cause more problems.
