Blurry photo files in 2 of my most recent Collections folder

I'm using Windows 8 and Lightroom 5. This morning when attempting to click on the Lightroom icon I received a message that Lightroom could not be found. Once I finally got Lightroom open I have found that all of the photo files in 2 of my collections are blurry while in the Library Module. When moving to the Develop Module it indicates that the folder could not be located for the photograph. All of my files are kept on an external hard-drive and only these 2 collections are blurry and they are the most recent photo files that I have worked with.

I restored the macbook from a time machine backup. Everything seems to work fine. Disk scans don't show errors and the weird sounds during shutdown are gone...
I still don't really trust the hard drive, though.

  • Will Not Open To Most Recently Used Folder

I figured out how to save in the same file, but PS still opens some default folder beginning with "THIS PC", instead of the most recently used folder. It should open to the most recently used folder. How do I set that?

    none than I know of.
Of course, you could always make an Apple Script as an app (that you could place next to the finder icon on the dock for ex) that would do it, but that would require programming skills.

  • What date's data is most recently collected

    Hi
In a 12.1 Audit Vault database, how can i query what date's data is most recently collected from target database?
Audit Vault is collecting 2 months of audit data from target database and it didn't finish yet. How can i see the how much of the data is collected by AV.
    Thanks.

    thanks again,
as i said there is 500GB audit data on aud$ and this is being a big problem.
collector didn't manage to finish a full read of aud$ yet (experienced snapshot too old and some other problems) and everytime we restart it, it writes the complete data again.
now i realized that on audit vault, for some dates, data was inserted 2/3 times from target database. ( when compared avsys.event_log of AV and sys.aud$ of target database)
so i decided to empty data on AV and restart the collector.
Now question is what is the quickest way to delete all data on AV?
    Thanks

  • To change info in library file then info, only the most recent cd's allow me to change info, all others 14,000, do not, any ideas???

Understand to change cd info in library  File then info, as of recent only the most recent music added to my library enabled to make changes, all others (14,000) do not highlight change categories, that is gray not black. Any suggestions.

I suspect a permissions problem. This can happen when a library is moved between systems or the system is upgraded to a new version of Windows.
Right-click on your main iTunes folder (or ithe Tunes Media folder if that is elsewhere) and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
If it won't let you change the permissions use the Owner tab to take ownneship from an account with administror privileges.

  • Would like a 'Most Recent Docs' folder - like in Windows

    Hi,
I would like to have a view of my most recent documents that doesn't require opening a new Finder window in order to see them. Ideally, I would like to add this folder to the dock. I'm assuming this would be done w/ a Smart Folder.
When I click and hold over the folder in the dock, I'd like the pop-up to show a list of most recently modified documents, just like any other folder behaves when attached to the dock.
    Is this possible?
I'm assuming that Smart Folders are the way to go here but when I attach it to the dock and mouse-down, I only get a pop-up w/ remove, open, show options.
    Thanks,
    T

And there's also a Favorites folder you can use - /Home/Library/Favorites/. Learn more about it by selecting Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and searching for 'favorite.' Second article is germane.

  • Can I make the finder open my most recently used folder when opening a new window?

    Hello Community!
When I open a new finder window I would like it to open the folder I worked in last (i.e. the one I saved sth to or opened sth from). I know I can go over "Go to" but is there a way to adjust the settings so that it opens automatically?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Location of thumbnails and copying imported photo files?

I am just learning to use Photoshop Elements 9 in a Windows XP computer. In Organizer, I imported some photo files from an external hard drive and then thumbnail photos were created in the workspace of the Orgnaizer.
    1) Where are these thumbnail photo files located? I looked in the Adobe folder, C:\Documents and Settings\Richard\My Documents\My Pictures\Adobe but the thumbnails are not there.
    2) How do I prevent photo files from being copied to my C: hard drive when they are imported from my camera or external hard drive, or when they are scanned into the Organizer?
    Thanks.

Specify a custom location for your catalog.  Organizer will create a folder (named for the catalog) at that location and the catalog and its associated thumbnail files will be created in that folder.
As mentioned earlier, you can also specify the location for imported photos.

  • Merging folders, most recent dated files

Does anyone know how I can merge two folders with mostly the same file names so that the most recent ones are collected into another folder...and if there are any other files not duplicated, they are added also?
I looked at FileMerge but there seems to be users saying it is unreliable. Any shareware or other applications would be appreciated.
    I do not use terminal.
    Thanks.

You might consider Chronosync (which I haven't used):

  • Most recently added

I have itunes 7.5 and have noticed that the 'most recently added' folder in my playlist has dissappeared. I don't know why, perhaps it's something I have done but I would like to get it back, I used it a lot for updating my ipod. Can anyone help?

In iTunes, locate "new smart playlist", it should be under iTunes>file>new smart playlist. Click on new smart playlist, & the window to set a SPL up will open. In the first box, click on the dropdown arrow, choose "date added". in the second box, click on the dropdown, choose "in in the last". Click on the dropdown for the 3rd box, choose days, weeks, or months. For example, you want to say 2 weeks, choose weeks, then type in 2 in the 3rd box. At the bottom of the SPL window is a box for you to type in how many files you want in this playlist. If you want to make sure you pick up everything that has been recently added, enter a large number. At the very top of the SPL window, make sure that "match the following rule" is checked. Hope this helps.

  • Grrrr. Restoring from backup. Doesn't see most recent backups as "complete"

Terribly frustrating. Logic board went out on our newish mac mini. While it's in the shop I'm trying to restore the most recent backup to another external HD that I can startup from. The latest backup was completed moments before the mini crashed, but when I go to restore, it shows the most recent "complete" backup was done back in January. What!!! I have been able to get at the important files I need through the Finder, but that's not going to cut it. I want a complete restore of the system.
    1) What Time Machine settings did I have wrong that could have caused this?
    2) What can I do to prevent this from happening again?
    3) Am I going to be able to get into my latest backup?
    Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Hi, and welcome to the forums. (Not the best way to start, is it?)
Very carefully, look at the most recent backup folder on the TM disk (don't change or delete anything).
As you probably know, it's inside the folder that has the same name as the computer it's from, and should be at the bottom.
It should be named with the date and time. If it has ".inProgress" at the end, it means it's not complete; TM hadn't quite finished with it. If so, you can't do anything with it.
It's also possible the disk was corrupted when the logic board blew. If OSX didn't get a chance to "close it out" properly (via the normal eject process), there's no telling what happened.
    I'd start with a +Repair Disk+ (and maybe even +Repair Permissions+ ). That might help.
And you should be able to browse the backups from another Mac running Leopard, via the (badly named) +Browse Other Time Machine Disks+ option. That's available either while holding down the Option key while selecting the TM icon in your menubar, or control-clicking (right-clicking) the TM icon in the Dock. This won't show any ".inProgress" files either.

  • How to determine which drive has the most recent backup?

I have a few drives that contain backups of files. What would be the easiest way to figure out which of the drives has the most recent backup? When I sort by date, the folder shows one date, though the files inside show a different date? Is there a way to quickly check the drives to find which is the most recent?
    Thanks.

the folder modification date isn't reliable, as is only tells of changed in the folder, but not in subfolders. there is no efficient way. I however highly suggest Time capsule, it is WAY easier and you can ask it not to sync the System data and/or applications, so it would prevent this hassle.
You could try this: go to the first drive, type different letters, like a for instance, and see which file is the most recent document/folder.
do the same thing on the other drives and compare.

  • How to get the Most RECENTLY installed JRE path and version ?

    Hello Experts,
I am working on Installshield, and for some purpose, I need to get the MOST RECENTLY installed JRE version and Path. Now I have two choices :
    1. Go into the directory " C:\Program Files\Java\" and get the most recently changed directory, ( that will be the installation directory of the most recently installed JRE ). And then search in the registry under : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/JavaSoft/Java Runtime Environment/ and look for the version which is having
the value of the key INSTALLDIR as the above found Installation Directory.
But in this approach, I'll never find the Installation dir or version, if the JRE is installed somewhere else than the default location.
    2. Now this is the reverse. I first search in the registry, and get the Installation Directories of all the versions installed in the system, and then look at the file attributes ( may be by using some batch file ) and see which one is most recently installed.
My question is, is there any other way, by which I can get the most recently installed JRE's installation Path and version? Or can we trace it during the installation itself ? I mean when we install the JRE, it creates some log files in %TEMP% directory. Is it possible to trace the version and installation directory of the most recently installed JRE from the log file ?
    Thanks
    Gagan

Rendering times are pretty much based on processor speed if I have that right. Not much you can do about that other than buy a new computer. Your day to day work in the finder and accessing of files would be faster with your boot drive internal. One thing you can do is ensure your FCP System Settings are on the fastest disk you have. If you put a pair of drives internal and made a RAID volume for them you would improve your write speed when capturing and for any other read/write operations. You would have to be sure you kept that backed up properly because you double the odds of a failure when two drives spread the data between them. There are many RAID options.
You could also bump up the RAM but you'd have to look at your processes to see if you are being limited by RAM. I'm guessing not but it's not impossible. If you are accessing scratch disks due to RAM limitations that would be one thing you could do.
I would never bother connecting an external via USB if there was an esata or firewire option. I use an esata card internally to give me access to estata storage. I also keep an external FW800 drive for a mirror backup of my boot drive. All my data and booting is internal with all my backups external. Each internal has an external and I have additional externals that I keep off site to protect against fire and theft.

  • How Can I Set Photoshop to Default Open the Most Recent Folder

Lately, Photoshop CC always opens a default folder-which is several clicks away from the folder I am using. How do I set it to default to the most recent open folder when I click "OPEN" ?

They would seem to be, but it's possible that they were released separately in the iTunes Store. Some apps are different but named the same (Angry Birds being a case in point). Not having any of those apps I can't say with any certainty. It's definitely not normal for iTunes to keep older versions.
If you're still on Mac OS X 10.5.6 as your profile indicates, update to 10.5.8 and the latest version of iTunes and see if that makes any difference.
    Regards.

  • Iphoto and facebook - most recent photos not showing up in file upload!!

on iphoto, all the photos are fine and the most recent photos i import are in the recent import folder like they should be. i'm trying to upload a new profile picture to facebook but when i go to file upload and then click on iphoto to find the picture, it's not there, along with the rest of the recently imported photos. the most "recent photos" when i go to file upload are photos i imported from september 24, 2009 and i have imported a bunch of pictures after that date that aren't showing up when i go to file upload. i already tried rebuilding my library and all that but it didn't do anything. help?

I just started having this same problem. New events are not appearing in the media browser section of the file upload window. The last event to show up is from October 12th. I tried several different websites and browsers.
They are fine in iPhoto and the files show up in the "All Images" section of the Finder.

  • How do I most easily transfer photo files from elements 9 to elements 11?

How do I most easily transfer photo files from elements 9 to elements 11?

When you say Elements 9 do you mean Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements or the Elements Organizer?
Technically there is no program called simply Elements.
