Blurry Photos in Slideshow

I have IPhoto 6.06. I moved pictures from email to my desk top. From the desk top I moved the Jpeg photos to a slide show. The pictures look fine when I place them into IPhoto. But when I play back the slideshow the pictures are blurry. Any suggestions on how to fix?

That's your problem then.
These are thumbnails - really tiny, postage stamp-sized images. When the Mac tries to play them at full screen in the slideshow there is simply not enough data to work with. Ask the sender to give you full sized pics.

  • Problem with soft, blurry photos in Slideshow mode in AB 2.1.1.9

    Hello,
I downloaded the 2.1.1 update to AB which was supposed to take care of the blurry photo display in slideshow mode.
It is better than before, but the photos are still not nearly as sharp as they should be. When I display them in any other applications, e.g. xnview they are crisp and clear.
Is it only me, or do you also have this problem?
Is that going to be fixed for good in CS4? Has anyone played with CS4 AB beta?
    Regards,
    Kefir

Since 11/07 I am using CS3 and Bridge 2.1.1.9 with the slideshow option very sufficiently until Sunday. Since yesterday I try to display a file of 280 photos with filetype CR2 with partial bad effect. The first 40 slides are presented normally, then the next 60 photos but the photos are still not nearly as sharp as they should be which can be easily controlled using immediately CS3 with display mode of about 100 %. Afterwards the next 2 photos are ok. The next part of 10 photos are displayed wrong as before and so on. A short time before the first appearance of this problem I got a message that bridge has a problem but I don't remember which one.
I am using an 19" EIZO display with digital connection and a Matrox card which is really not slow. I would be happy for a solution of this problem.

  • Blurry photos in slideshow mode only, when displaying on TV.

    Hi,
I recently purchased the Apple AV cable for the iPhone (the composite version, not the component one). While initially put off by its $50 price tag, it has provided good value. My daughter uses it daily to watch Teletubbies, and the video quality is great for our standard definition TV.
This cable also lets you show photos on the TV. You can show them one at a time, or run a slideshow. My problem is that the photos are really blurry when running in slideshow mode. So blurry I won't use it.
When I view them one at a time, manually advancing each photo, they are sharp. The photos often appear blurry for a couple hundred milliseconds, but then "snap into focus." I am not sure what's going on with that, but it's fine.
The problem is, they don't automatically come into focus when a slideshow is running. Whatever that final "focus" step is, it doesn't appear to be happening. Silly, as the pause between pictures is at least 3 seconds (plenty of time to do whatever is done in the non-slideshow mode).
I don't think the cable is the problem: the very same photos are crystal clear when viewing them with the slideshow paused. I don't think the phone is the problem; my wife has an iPhone as well and the behavior is the same.
I have been hoping this would get fixed in some firmware update, but we're at version 1.4 and the trouble remains.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any workarounds?
    Thanks!

For anyone else with this problem:
I just updated to the new firmware (2.0), and the issue is gone. Good work, Apple.

  • ATV doesn't show all photos in slideshow

My ATV3 doesn't show all my photos in slideshow. It seems to repeat the same, say 50, over and over, even though I have about 400 in the folder on my windows7 PC.
    Whats the fix?
    Thanks
    Andy

For the avoidance of doubt are you talking about the screensaver or the slideshows.
Slideshows should show all your photos, but screensavers will not. Screensavers need to save the photos to the Apple TVs flash storage, the Apple TV doesn't have a lot of this and so limits the number of photos it uses.

  • Blurry images in slideshow

    Hi,
I have a slideshow with a background and transparent PNG files sliding. However, the PNG's look blurry in the slideshow, but when I right-clicked on the slide and opened the images in a new window to check if it was the compression, the image looks just fine!
So how can it be that the output PNG file that looks perfect when looked at in a separate file window, will look blurry in the actual slideshow?
    See the screenshots below.
    1. Transparent PNG file is blurry.
    2. The exact same picture looks better when opened in a separate window.

This is usually caused by an off-by-one error in Muse. Browsers will introduce this blur if they're asked to scale an image by a very small amount (i.e. one pixel). I expect there's a code generation bug in Muse that's resulting in this particular image being generated at a very slightly different size than the div it's being placed in.
Could you send us the .muse file at [email protected] so we can take a look and verify whether this is the cause. Please include a link to this thread with your message. If the .muse file is larger than 20Mb, you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, SendThisFile or WeTransfer. Please also note what page the problem image is on in the file. Thanks.

  • Photos in slideshow "smear"

I'm using iPhoto '09 on 2 machines.  On my G4 PPC (non-Intel) running OSX 10.5.8 photos in slideshow mode (not in albums, or library) show a "smear" at the edges.  (This smear seems to fill in the black band at picture edges.)  This crazy phenomenon does not appear on my iBook with the same iPhoto version and same OSX.  Also I cannot go to turn music off unless I'm in Ken Burns mode!!!
    Any ideas?

    Dupont 24:
iPhoto has no limits to the number of photos a user can have in a slideshow nor in the number of photos you can at at one time. If the slideshow is already created, just select all the photos you want in the main library or in an album and drag onto the slideshow icon in the Source pane.

  • Major Bug in iPhoto '11 -- Blurry Photos in Books

I spent the last week putting together a photo book as a Christmas gift for my wife. I was just about to hit the Purchase Book button when I noticed that several of the photos looked blurry. I attempted to double-click on them to examine them closely, but nothing happened. I left the book layout area and into the album where the individual photos were. When I attempted to edit the photo, I got the dreaded exclamation point -- iPhoto had lost track of the original photos.
I tried rebuilding the database by holding down the Command & Option keys during launch, but after a very lengthy rebuilding process, the photos were still blurry. Luckily, I realized that the problem photos were those that I had used the "Enhance" feature in iPhoto's edit area. By clicking the "Revert to Original" button at the bottom right (or right-clicking), iPhoto was able to rediscover a high-resoultion version of the photo (pre-Enhancement).
It was a pain to go through over 100 photos and manually click the "Revert to Original" button, but at least I got my sharp, high-resolution photos back. Spending a week and $50 on a book of blurry photos would have been bitter disappointment, not to mention a lousy Christmas gift.

    Hi Larry,
    Thanks for your reply,
I did a rebuild of the library, but the error remained.
To answer the issues you have with my post:
1/ My post is not about books, but the original posting dug deeper and got to the issue of editing photos in iPhoto and having the same problems as I experienced and described. Exporting a photo in a book or in an email, what ever export/production mode is, it came down to a problem of photo Edit in iPhoto.
2/ Also, I found this post via googling "iphoto bug when editing photos". It is not the first time a thread is picked up a couple of months later, or is it ?
3/ Also, on "the "sharing" by email works but is failing as well"
Indeed the sharing by email works, that is the photo gets exported to the email, ie mail is activated and the photo is composed in email but in the email, as I mentioned, "the photo has a serious quality loss and is blurred, though in the Edit Tab/mode it is still full quality and sharp."
Thanks again for your reply and help.
    Best
    Tom

  • IPhoto09 v 8.1.2 Problem- Double clicking on thumbnail results in glimpse of photo and changes to ! with black background.  No photo, no slideshow.

    iPhoto09 v 8.1.2
Double clicking on thumbnail results in glimpse of photo before changing to  !  with a black background.
    No photo, no slideshow.
(Preferences set to magnify with double click)

That indicates that the iPhoto database has lost the connection to the high resolution photo - if you have not made any changes to the library (like cleaning uyp, deleting using thrid party software or form the all images list) then rebuilding will probably resolve it - Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto database

  • My camera is producing blurry photos before and after ios5. What to do?

My camera is producing blurry photos before and after ios5. What to do?

    Jp0man-
There are several reasons a photo might be blurry.  It might be out-of-focus, the iPad or subject might have been moving when the photo was taken, or the blur might actually be noise resulting from not having enough light.
Try taking a photo of a fixed object 3 or 4 feet away with a lot of light, with the iPad propped against something solid.  If you still get a blurry image, you may have a defective iPad and should contact Apple about it.  If you can demonstrate the problem to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a new iPad on the spot.

  • Export photos FROM slideshow?

Can I create an album FROM a slideshow?
I created Album A (tons of photos) and slideshow A. I duplicated slideshow A and deleted all the photos I didn't want to include, that became slideshow B. Now I need to export the photos from slideshow B into a format I can burn to disc - photos, NOT the slideshow itself. Can I do this without having to recreate the wheel, and have to pick out the photos I want one by one in a new album? Thanks!

There is an easy way to keyword those photos so you can group them for exporting to the desktop.
1 - in the slideshow double click on the first photo to bring up the edit window.
2 - type Command+K to bring up the keyword pane
3 - assign a unique keyword, "xxxx", created for this process to the photo.
4 - hit the forward arrow key on the keyboard.
5 - assign the keyword to the next photo. Repeat until all photos have been keyworded.
6 - create a smart album: keyword is "xxxx".
7 - export the photos from the smart album.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Blurry photos when saved

Okay so I use safari and I save photos to my iPod touch 8gb 2nd or 3rd gen and they are blurry. I tried the method with the re sync and it doesnt work because Im saving them and the pictures are not in my computer. Also, I dont like going to my computer every time and re sync them when I save pictures from safari.. Is there going to be a fix for this or what??

Firstly it doesn't matter what size the image is, even if it's the standard ipod touch screen size, it will still display blurry. It's a bug. This is a pathetic limitation and should be an embarrassment to the company.
Secondly, the issue happens even when you've saved the image from Mail. That being said, if you were to open up Twinkle, and share this blurry photo with the world, they will see it as clear and perfect as all getup. Then if you go and look at your photo in Twinkle you will see that the image is clear, and yet still blurred in your photo container on the ipod.
You're trying to tell me that this thing that can support running 3d applications and games is so inferior that it can't display a image without time traveling back to 1988?
Give me a break, Apple better fix this. It makes them look cheap.

  • Can a blurry photo be fixed some

can a blurry photo be fixed some ?

"1 blurry photo is a mistake. 20 blurry photos is a style." - Rick Sammon
There's no free lunch. Topaz does make a plug-in called inFocus. Reviews are mixed on how good it works. I have the entire Topaz suite so I have inFocus but I haven't used it enough to make a judgement. Luckily they have a free trial so you can try it out if you want risk-free.
Don't get your hopes too high. No expectations, no disappointments.

  • Blurry photo question

Just started on Imovie 10. Wanting to create a work with still images and text for an audio work. Unsatified with blurry photos. They look good in preview, sharp and clear. Press play and they're blurry. They are high res images that I'm importing. What's the go? Thanks.

    Hi Fabina
    1. If You shared/exported to ?? from within iMovie, my guess is that iMovie
asked for if it should render the movie. I think it destroys the photos.
If so You probably need to re-import Your photos and re-do Your movie.
    2. 1Gb USB memory is as You say to small to handle Your movie un-compressed.
I would bite in the sour apple and buy an ext FW hard disk AND IMPORTANT
format it as Mac OS Extended (or You destroy Your movie) and on this
move the whole project to the Mac with a superdrive.
alt. buy an external DVD burner and figure out howto get iDVD 5 to find it.
    Yours Bengt W
