Blurry print

my family shares a 5610 all in one printer. A vista laptop prints fine, an XP laptop prints most things with blurry or ghost type,.exceptions are word docs.;  PDFs, web pages, etc are blurry.  Aligning and cleaning have no effect. help?

I'm a Mac guy, but if the Vista laptop is fine then there's something wrong with the XP's print settings, not the printer. This is further supported by the fact that Word prints fine in XP.
Clarification: if you have it, does the whole Office suite print with no problem, or ONLY Word?

  • Acrobat 9 - Save PDF as Optimized leading to blurry print jobs

Hi, I am looking for some insight into PDF's with optimized savings. I had a print job recently where some pages came out blurry and some pages did not. The previous job I did had no issues but the files files took a long time to send. SO this time I thought I would use the optimize option in Acrobat 9 to make the files smaller to send. I had the client check the quality on their end and of course the screen resolution was fine. What I am after is an answer to if the reason for some of the pages printing blurry was because of the optimize option I used when I sent them. From what I have quickly researched it seems that optimize does lead to blurry images. But if so then why did msot of the pages come out clean an d crisp and some of them come out blurry. Is that normal in this case? I am saving my PDF's originally from InDesign CS5 with printers marks and bleed. This is what I sent  the first time but of course like I said this time I saved them as optimized in Acrobat 9. It is the only thing I can think of to cause the blurry printing. Is it solely due to the save setting or could it be that the printers Acrobat version was earlier tham ine and this caused troubles? Appreciate any insight so I can avoid this again.

All pages were ready for high quality print - all imiages were at least 250dpi, most were 300dpi. All fine for quality print.
Optim was just standard which I should have changed. ANy idea why some pages were blurry and others weren't? <- Nothing to do with original resolution since they were all fine as stated above.
edit: Just got my own copy of the job. It's not really bluriness, it's more that all the fonts have a slight fuziness around them. Has to be from the optim save I did, but still weird that not every supplied PDF turned out like that. Each PDF I get I make sure open in PS and make sure they are CMYK then save as an .eps and then use Adobe Distiller to open the .eps and save again (to make sure no fonts bomb on the printers side). This does not cause loss of info, so it's only the optim save which I should have insisted on only being used a digital proofing PDF and not to send.

  • Blurry printing sometimes

I get blurry printing when I try to print from the internet but when I insert a paper to be scanned it comes out fine.
Also I was trying to print my bank statement and it wouldn't print.  It kept telling me I needed something on the page to print.  I haven't had a problem in the past printing my bank statement.  I have new hp cartrige. My paper is the same stuff I always use.  No humidity problems. I doubt if I have printed 50 pages since I owned this printer so it shouldn't be worn out.  It is the c4680 series

Same problem, different model, since last change of cartridge (I think)

  • Blurry printing after 10.1.7 update on Acrobat X Pro

After the latest update (10.1.7)  to my copy of Acrobat X Professional in around May 15th, all my PDFs print out - BLURRY like Acrobat has double vision or bad hangover. All printing from all other programs on my computer continues to have excellent quality.
This have never happened before and it's VERY frustrating! This problem happens when using both my desktop (Win7) and laptop (Win8).
I use a HP CP2025dn and tried all kinds of preference adjustments and updated drivers but am concluding that there must be a bug with this update.
Is there a fix in the works or if not: How can I roll back my  Acrobat X Pro to 10.1.6 so I can continue printing my work with a professional output that my clients are accustomed to seeing?
    Thank you!

In my original post, I said Acrobat would run on my Dell desktop but not the Samsung laptop. The next day, I found it wouldn't start on the Dell, either. When trying to convert a web page, buried at the bottom of the windows I found the message from Acrobat that it was not activated (why isn't this message on TOP ???).
I guess the initial problem -- running on one computer but not the other -- was a red herring.
I looked more closely at the posts about the program not launching after 30 days and checked Control Panel. I installed the program on April 15. The problems started on May 16 !! So I guess this is just the known problem with activation when installed as part of CS6. Still a mystery why I got an extra day of use on the Dell compared with the Samsung.
I intended to update my thread yesterday. I could see my message but there didn't seem to be a way to update or 'respond' to it.
I have applied the AcroFix.exe patch, but not yet updated to version 10.1.7.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Blurry Print Images

I am working on a project right now and am using 2 different programs for various images (Numbers and Finale Notepad). Using the "Print" dialog, I print everything to PDF and then import the PDFs into Pages.
In pages, everything looks fine. When I print the Pages document on paper, all of my images are blurry and basically unusable. This seems to happen whether I import the entire PDF or use Grab to get a snapshot of a portion of the image.
Any ideas on how I can get an imported image that not only looks clean in Pages but prints cleanly?
    Thanks!

    In Pages, everything looks fine.
On the digital graphic display, you mean. Your digital graphic display has a resolution of around 100 dots per inch. Your digital graphic printer has a resolution of 600 dots per inch up to 1200 dots per inch. Your digital graphic press has a resolution of up to 2500 dots per inch.
This seems to happen whether I import the entire PDF or use Grab to get a snapshot of a portion of the image.
Grab and other utilities that capture the current application window or the complete Finder as a graphic render at the resolution of the digital graphic display. You can check the resolution for yourself by opening your capture in Apple Preview and selecting Tools > Get Info.
Similarly if you capture the low resolution interface graphics in an application window through the Quartz PDF environment. You don't have more resolution to put onto the printer than you had to begin with when you put it onto your display.
There is a trick with an interpolation algorithm available in Photoshop. The trick was recommended by Dov Isaacs, Adobe's quality assurance manager, for screen grabs. I don't know how the 'Use Interpolation' algorithm works, but I have often used it.

  • Fuzzy and Blurry Prints HP 4650

    Hi,
I have a HP Color LJ 4650 that prints fuzzy and blurry photo's. Black text is ok. Have replaced magenta and yellow cartridges as well as the transfer belt. Recalibrated the printer but problem persists. Toner cartridges are all original HP's. Any thoughts on this issue, it could be mechanical and it could be electronic. Don't want to just start swapping out parts.Would appreciate any help.
    Thanks,

Hello LaserAge.  I understand your photos are printing blurry.
What size are the photos you're printing and what is their resolution?
What application are you printing from?  Does the issue persist if you print from a different application?
What version of Windows are you printing from?
I'll keep an eye out for your response.  Have a good day.

Everything is printing with a shadow.  Sometimes the first page or two come out okay.  Have installed new ink cartridges but that did not solve the problem.  Suggestions?

Hope there is no question about genuineness of the installed toner cartridges, better to verify/authenticate.
Download & use the HP cartridge authentication software: https://www.hp.com/go/tonercheck

  • Print not clear. Please Help

I have a HP F370 All-in-one Printer. I am trying to print a screenshot of my visual basic program. I am using printscreen key on my keyboard to take screen shot and then trimming it with the help of paint. The resulting screenshot is then copied to MS Word 2007 and printed using my printer with the following settings:
    Paper Size : A4
    Paper Type : Plain Paper
Print Quality : Best (600 dpi) with Real Life Digital Photography Disabled
    Resizing Options : Actual Size
Color Options : Print In Grayscale with Black Print Cartridge Only.
The Problem is when I print it using the above setting without the window border, then I get a very sharp , crisp and clear print. But with EXACTLY SAME SETTINGS, with window border I get a Blurry print.
    See this image:
I have zoomed the word 'Physics'. Notice in first pic it is sharp and in second one it is blurry. I want it just like in first pic.
I have tested and reprinted it many times but same problem persists. I am using Windows 7 , and A4 sheets for printing. Please help me.

Could be many things here. If the actual size with the windows border exceeds the margins on the paper, it could be changing the size to fit which reduces the quality of the image. That is just the first thought that came to mind. This document about print settings for better prints may offer some help:

  • My canon mg3200 is printing blurrry

after a paper jam , my printer is now printing blurry, have tried all printer aligments, cleaning etc, can anyoune help please!

    Hi LESLEY8 and jeffkleb,
You can try cleaning the encoder film of the printer to see if this will resolve the blurry printing issue.  To do this, please follow the steps located here.
If you still experience difficulty, since the cleanings and alignments also did not work, the printer will most likely require servicing.  Please call or email us at one of the methods on the Contact Us page to obtain your servicing options.

  • Printing a PDF created in Indesign results in blurry text.

    Hello All,
I am in need of assistance.
I have created a flyer for one of my companies products in In-design.
When I print the project directly form In-design the print looks great and the text is nice and crisp.
However, when I export the project to a "Press Quality" PDF, and print it the text comes our blurry and "dirty"
I have been trying to fix this for 2 days now with no luck.
I have tried multiple different setting during the export to PDF form In-design, all resulting in the same issue.
What is strange is when I print the PDF in black and white the text look just as good as if it were printed directly from In-design in colour.
I looked around online and found allot of posts regarding this issue but no definitive results.
I have also checked the colour of the text and it is 100%K.

    What color is the text?
Can you show some screen shots?

  • Print outs are blurry when printing from a web page.

I have sorta a strange problem with my printer that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with. I have an HP 895 series printer that I got from an website not long ago. I bought (remanufactured) ink cartridges for it because it looked like the ink was running out, but after I put them in the prints started to look really blurry to where it would kind of hurt my eyes to look at it. I tried cleaning around the cartridges and printer as best I could and aligned the print cartridges. The problem is that the alignment page prints ok, I even printed a word document which looked fine, but when I try to print any type of web page from firefox, it still comes out blurry. It seems as if it is still not aligned. I'm not sure if there is anything else I can try or anything I can do to correct this. I'm just wondering if anyone has some suggestions.

If it is blurry after you installed the remanufactured cartridges, then it is the cartridges. If there is a printhead cleaning utility in the print driver, then run that, it may help. The only other possibility I can think of, is if you also changed to a different type of paper, but that is less likely.
