Blurry rings in iPhone 6+ night photos
I have had my iPhone 6+ 64Gb running iOS 8.1.2 for a good while now (three weeks after preorder day) and have recently noticed that when taking photos at night there are strange blurry rings appearing in the photo for no apparent reason almost like some sort of stupid filter, is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me? Anyone have any suggestions on a fix?

IPhone took 659 photos/videos – by itself
My iPhone took 659 photos and videos last night – by itself – after I had plugged it in to charge and gone to bed. I noticed them today as I was downloading the iPhone's photos to iPhoto; otherwise the phone has been acting normally. All the images are black, with the exception of a few that have the dim light of a lamp that's set to on for about an hour each night.
There is no obvious pattern to the images. At 11:25:02pm it took the first photo, but then between 11:29:35pm and 11:34:39pm, at various intervals, it took 9 videos ranging in duration from 0:02 to 1:48. Then it took 17 photos in the next 3 minutes (again at seemingly random intervals), followed by 3 videos, then more photos then more videos...and on and on until 2:43:16am. 385 photos, 274 videos.
Nobody touched the phone during that time. The phone was not up against anything that would have pressed the shutter (not that that would explain why it went randomly from photo to video). We'll see what happens tonight.
Does this make any sense to anyone? Some kind of virus, perhaps?It happened to me as well, after downloading a new podcast. I could not find it in the Podcast list, so I reset the Ipod Touch. All the music and videos were gone , except the new downloaded podcast.

Disappointing Lumia 1020 OIS night photos
Has anyone else had disappointing results with the Lumia 1020 OIS? I have an 808 and whilst it does not have OIS, the sensor on it is massive so loads of light floods in even when the viewfinder looks pitch black, and holding it still enough produces wome nice results. Trying similar tricks with the 1020 just results in reklatively blurry and dark photos. The OIS apears to be doing something...it rattles when the cam is not on and spins/hums when it is. I've also tested in with video and it appears to be smoother and hence doing what OIS should do (when compared to a Blackerry Q10 it was less shaky, which is what I would expect). But night photos just don't seem to be up to snuff.
Am I expecting too much then? Seems to me that low light with my 1020 just produces high noise, blurry photos, is there some way I can perform a diagnostic or compare it to soemone elses photos?actually, seems i can attach directly. These were taken in low light, you can see that even the not-so-blurry photos are not exactly blur free

Anyone have a fix for the iPhone 4s "Saving Photo" hang/rendering/error?
Just got a new iPhone 4s and having issues with the camera/photos.
First, I restored the phone from a recent backup of my iPhone 4. All seemed fine, but somewhere along the line I lost the ability to send photos via email or mms - camera app just hangs on "SAVING PHOTO", then the photo appears in the camera roll as a black box, but it CAN be seen in the little preview wiindow on the left side of the camera app control bar. Other photos look half blurry as in partially rendered. iPhoto will not recognize any of these photos either. I am backing up to iCloud but do NOT have Photo Stream enabled.
A restore to factory settings and the camera + send works ok, but then when I restore from my backup problems come back which leads me to believe its a configuration issue maybe due to permissioning.
Finally, I did a restore and just resynced the apps and reconfigured all the other settings. The phone now takes photos and I can send them, but iPhoto won't recognize them. Additionally, if I take a photo then delete it, it will still show in the preview window on the control bar of the camera, but its not in the camera roll. I still get some half rendered images. Oddly, this only seems to occur when I'm attached to wifi - as if its trying to sync with the cloud or itunes, but I have that disabled.
Anyone run into these issues and hopefuly have a resolution?
ThanksI'm having the same issue, except mine only came up once I turned Photo Stream on. However, with Photo Stream on, I can view the photos fine on my iPad. They are all just blacked out or blurry on my iPhone. This means that I can take photos with my iPhone but then cannot view them until I get home and sync to the iPad via Photo Stream.
Also, I dont' know if it's linked, but I cannot access the included Wallpapers in Settings. It just brings up a blank page. I'm planning on going in to the local Apple Store, but was hoping someone might have figured out what was happening with this issue. -
N95 Camera Flash makes for terrible night photos
Hi all,
Ever since i got my N95 8 months ago, it's taken absolutely terrible night photos as the flash always causes an unsightly white glow from the right side of the picture when it goes off. I've played with all the settings and nothing seems to help.
Anyone else had this problem or am i just doing it wrong? Help would be appreciated. Thanks.The flash on the vast majority of point and shoot cameras (dedicated or phone) is pretty much useless. If you get close enough, everything is washed out, farther away it does nothing. I've had very good results simply turning it off and turning on a few more lights when I can. Even in low light, I find I get better pictures without the flash. For photos that were too dark, I've had a great deal of success post processing with Camera+.
The iPhone 5 has a very good camera for a phone but it's still not my Nikon DSLR and never will be. However, since I've learned to work within it's limitations, I've taken some great pictures.

I have installed Itunes 10.5 on my PC and I have turned photostream on on my Ipad2 and Iphone. The photos sync fine but they are not showing up on my PC. What's the problem? I can see my photos on my ipad and Iphone. I want to be able to see them on my PC when I take pictures from my Iphone and Ipad. How do I see Photostream on my PC?
You have to install the iCloud control panel for windows, then sign in with you apple ID, and check what you want to sync.

i was backing up my iPhone and importing photos onto iPhoto at the same time , then suddenly it says no more space available (i had 48GB before i do this and now i have 18GB) i can't find the back up or the photo anywhere , how can i delete them ? i dont need the pictures or the back ups , i want to delete them but they are not there
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown asBackups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Reboot and it should go away.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size with the largest at the top. It may take a few minutes for ODS to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal. -
when bluetooth headset is connected to iphone,I can't hear iphone ringing aloud when I have a call or a text. Do i really have to wear the bluetooth headset all the time in my ear to know when I have a call or a message? Why it doesnt ring through iphone but it rings through the bluetooth headsets?
In other phones, you can hear the phone ringing and if it was connected to bluetooth, you could pick up the call from the bluetooth headset.
Here with iphone, if its connected to bluetooth headset, it only rings through the headset, which means that if you dont have the headset in the ear all the time, you cannot know that you have an incoming call or message.
Any ideas - solutions - comments please?I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. I'd really like to be able to hear both, like I was before. This is an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 (latest version, not sure what it is exactly). Haven't updated software/firmware in between bluetooths, just changed the earpiece. -
I have a G5 which I intend to keep.
Now that I have updated my iphone 4s to iOS 7.0.
I cannot add music to my iphone or upload photos to iphoto.
I have the last itunes 10.6.3. which was supported by apple.
itunes will not interact with my iphone on any level.
Apple made all the equipment I use.
Bentley and Ferrari etc do not stop making parts for their cars?

Stable software.
Design.
All that Steve Jobs consider sacrosanct.
Quality is about ongoing support longevity of product.
Its not about trying to sell to every person on the planet, others are way ahead of you.
So try respective the customers you have, it wont be long before theirs a better operating system and your lead in hardware is marginal.

The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. I have a video that i originally took using my iphone but then transfered to my PC. I want to put it back onto my iPhone in the photo app (NOT video app) so i can share it straight from my phone.
Since one of the iphone updates enabled the volume button as a camera shutter button and i was shooting the video one handed, i held the camera with the volume buttons on top. Unfortunatly, the phone still saves it in such a way that only the iphone and itunes recognize the proper orientation intended and when it's opened with any other device or program, it automatically makes the part of the video that's against the smooth side of the phone always the top side (regardless of if that makes the video sideways or upside down). I was able to get the video back onto my phone as a "video" where it shows up in the video app as a "movie" and there are no options to share via text, email, youtube (which were options when the video was still in the photo app). I need to be able to share the video with familyHave you transferred photos from your computer to your iPhone which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If so, you can place this video in the folder of photos on your computer that is selected to be transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. Under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select Include Videos. -

The easiest method is to connect your device to iTunes, transfer the photos to your computer and add them to photostream from there. If you only have a few photos to add, you could take a screenshot of each one. -
I am using Iphone with windows. I have draged photos from my computer into Iphone in the past, but cant seem to do it now. How do I move photos from my pc to my iphone without deleting photos that are on the phone.
You cannot drag pics from computer to iphone. This has never been a feature of iphone.
You sync them as you would anything esle.
You select photos from the photos tab. Whatever is selected will be on your iphone. Anything not selected will not be. Make sure that everything you want on your iphone is selected, then sync. -

Thanks.You could get a Google voice account and have it forwarded to your iPhone (and other phones). This would effectively give your iPhone the capability of receiving calls to 2 different numbers and making calls from 2 different numbers. Although the Google voice capabilities on iPhone are somewhat awkward.

I upgraded my iPhone last night. At the end of the upgrade iTunes synched the Contacts, but all my iPhone contacts have been deleted and replaced by the Windows contacts on my computer. Can the iPhone contacts be restored? The latest backup shows the time to be after the sync so we tried to restore the iPhone but only the Windows contact list is there. Can you access any previous backup files anywhere?
